“Wet Cactus” is an heavy rock band with psychedelic hints created in Cantabria (Spain) during the summer of 2013. The band is formed by Daniel Pascual (Voice & Bass), Ernesto Díez (Guitar), Óscar Sánchez (Guitar) and Jaime Pérez (Drums). They have two studio albums: "Wet Cactus" (2015) and "Dust, Hunger & Gloom" (2018). During their career, they carved out a place in the Nothern Spanish rock scene playing with bands like Yawning Man as well as in festivals like Resurrection Fest. "Magma Tres" is the band's third project. This conceptual album delves into the consequences of Earth's depletion as a life-sustaining planet due to human inaction in reversing their actions. Eight tracks recorded live in February 2022, showcasing a gritty and explosive atmosphere. It is set to be released in November 2023 through Electric Valley Records.

Reissue of DREAMVIOLENCE, which was BAMBARA's full-length follow-up to their acclaimed debut EP Dog Ear Days (2010). After playing countless deafening shows in their hometown of Athens, touring the US in sweaty house shows and sharing bills with Iceage, Grimes, Liturgy, A Place to Bury Strangers, and Parts and Labor, BAMBARA decided to leave their beloved Athens and move to a basement apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn for a change. Here they practiced, slept and recorded for the majority of 2012. Following the release of a Kate Bush cover and a 10 minute improv noise EP RINGS early in the year, BAMBARA began to work on DREAMVIOLENCE.With a minimal recording set-up and little sunlight, the band was able to completely capture the dark, grimy, noisy sound they are known for while maintaining the lush beauty that glues it all together. Reid's voice croons and snarls the fragmented images of the city. Blaze and William's driving rhythm section plows and swings through the dirge of vocal noise with furious power. BAMBARA doesn't want you to get comfortable in DREAMVIOLENCE. They prefer to send you through vortexes of haunting noise before you reach the dreamy euphoria waiting in the wreckage.

The recurrent sounds from Besseny and Bowman’s intrepid field and bush explorations often verge on an indistinguishability between the synthesised and the concrete-organic. Permutated hand percussion or the throbbing of a waterfall; xylophonic melody or the tape loop of a bird call. The clank and tings of unidentified objects, matter itself writhing in the veggie garden. An environment starts speaking from iron gates in a paddock anywhere, close to the damp leaf and loam of a forest floor far below unseen birds and their cacophony of song and chatter. In 2020, during the pandemic and second lockdown, the opportunity arose for Oracle Sisters to record their debut album on the island of Hydra. Tourist free, locked down with only fishing boats in the harbour and locals as the backdrop, it proved to be the perfect peaceful place to work.In a studio-converted Old Carpet Factory, 35 songs were written and 20 were recorded, with 11 making the final track listing. The songs reflect the feeling of being suspended in time, locked down in a safe place but aware of the fragility of the moment. "Hydranism" acknowledges the spirit of hedonistic escape inherent on the island while giving a nod to the sage atmosphere it provided to lose oneself in reveries and create unencumbered.The recordings are built on a skeleton of live takes with vocals and acoustic guitars recorded in the kitchen, the drums (Cyprien Jacquet a.k.a Wend¥ Kîll) and bass (Jerome Goldet) in the old furnace room, while the vocals done in the ballroom and the handclaps the shower. The album took on the shape of the Old Carpet Factory, suspended on a steep incline overlooking the Hydra harbour and the distant hills of the Peloponnese. Layering upright and baby grand pianos, with the help of touring band member Reni Lane, they embraced the lofty resonance inherent in the hammered harp; harmonies followed while a sauce simmered on the stove. In style and tradition, the meat and bones of the sound embraces the style of larger than life ballads, intimate folk songs and table thumping rousers, from there to glam rock to the toy sounds you might hear in the neon gaming district of Shibuya, Tokyo. All these sounds reflect the life and travels of the band and their openness to use whatever they encounter on their path.

I Know I'm Funny haha is Webster's most realized manifestation yet of this emotional and musical alchemy. ‘Luciferian Towers‘ was recorded during the winter of 2016/2017 at Montreal’s Hotel2Tango, with Greg Norman once again engineering and co-producing (as he did on the band’s previous album ‘Asunder, Sweet And Other Distress‘).

The music on ‘Luciferian Towers‘ took shape over the past two years, amidst GYBE’s collaborative performances with the Holy Body Tattoo dance company’s monumental, and spurred by the commissioning of new compositions memorializing the 100th anniversary of the WWI Battle of Messines, which premiered at a live concert event on the site of the massacre at Heuvelland, Belgium this past June.

‘Luciferian Towers‘ is Godspeed’s third album since the group’s ‘reunion’ in 2011 and their second consecutive single LP-length record (following three double-album releases in 2000, 2002 and 2012).

this, this long-playing record, a thing we made in the midst of communal mess, raising dogs and children. eyes up and filled with dreadful joy – we aimed for wrong notes that explode, a quiet muttering amplified heavenward. we recorded it all in a burning motorboat.

3. FAM / FAMINE – how they kill us = absentee landlord, burning high-rise. the loud panics of child-policemen and their exploding trigger-hands. with the dull edge of an arbitrary meritocracy. neglect, cancer maps, drone strike, famine. the forest is burning and soon they’ll hunt us like wolves.

4. ANTHEM FOR NO STATE – kanada, emptied of its minerals and dirty oil. emptied of its trees and water. a crippled thing, drowning in a puddle, covered in ants. the ocean doesn’t give a shit because it knows it’s dying too.

Dummy ist eine Rockband aus Los Angeles, bestehend aus Alex Ewell, Emma Maatman, Nathan O'Dell und Joe Trainor. Ihr Debütalbum "Mandatory Enjoyment" (Trouble in Mind) erschien Ende 2021 und erntete Lob von Pitchfork, Stereogum und vielen anderen. Die Band tourte zwei Jahre lang, um das Album zu unterstützen, und es ist diese transformative Erfahrung, die durch "Free Energy", den berauschenden Nachfolger von "Mandatory Enjoyment", pulsiert. Die kreativ rastlose Band Dummy (Ewell: Schlagzeug, Synthesizer, Bass; Maatman: Gesang, Synthesizer, Orgel; O'Dell: Gesang, Gitarre, Orgel; Trainor: Gitarre, Bass, Synthesizer) wollte für ihr nächstes Album härter, tanzbarer und psychedelischer werden. Das bedeutete, dass sie die experimentellen Möglichkeiten elektronischer Texturen auf die elementaren Qualitäten des Rocks anwenden wollten, d.h. mehr Gesangsschleifen, Sampling, verrücktere Rhythmen und verspielte Synthesizer - aber sie wollten die Samples von Trainors Gitarre einsetzen, Maatman mutiger singen lassen, mit kalten mechanischen Elementen auf warme und funkelnde Weise experimentieren und sich stärker an traditionelle, aber immer noch großartige Formen von Rockgitarrenexperimenten wie Feedback anlehnen. Das Ergebnis ist ein Album, das die Fähigkeit der Musik feiert, den Körper zu bewegen, sei es durch eine zähneknirschende Wand aus MBV-eskem Lärm, einen klebrigen Pop-Refrain oder eine fröhliche Drum-Machine - oder, wenn man Dummy ist, vielleicht alles im selben Song. Popmusik war schon immer ein wichtiger Bestandteil von Dummys Sound und manifestiert sich auf unterschiedliche Weise in "Free Energy“: Die sprudelnde Synthesizer-Sequenz, die mit einem Korg EM1 gemacht wurde und in "Nullspace" auftaucht, der aufgedrehte Drone-Pop, der von Dunedin Sound Bands der zweiten und dritten Welle wie Look Blue Go Purple und Dadamah inspiriert ist, und der motorische Beat, der "Nine Clean Nails" antreibt. „Nine Clean Nails" ist vielleicht der selbstbewussteste Popsong, den Dummy je aufgenommen hat, und ein Beispiel für das Gleichgewicht zwischen der Intensität der Live-Performance und den elektronischen Ergänzungen auf "Free Energy". Die tänzerischen rhythmischen Elemente wurden aus einem von Ewell aufgenommenen Drumloop erzeugt, während die Bridge mit den Call-and-Response-Gitarren von O'Dell und dem ausdrucksstarken Gesang von Maatman an die Feelies erinnert. Fucked Up formed in 2001 in Toronto, Canada. Meeting each other through the local diy hardcore punk scene they developed a cult following early on which blossomed into a long career of releasing genre expanding music.

"Another Day" is their 7th full length album, they have released over 60 7” singles, countless hours of open-format guitar music, and toured consistently all over the world since early in their career.

Their first three LPs, “Hidden World,” “the chemistry of common life,” and “David Comes to Life” have all been canonised as classic, critically acclaimed, genre defining efforts. The three to follow, “Glass Boys,” “Dose Your Dreams,” and “One Day” have challenged expectations in scope, style, and delivery, the latter which was written and recorded within the span of 24 hours.

Alongside their LPs, the band have been releasing their more experimental “Zodiac” series since 2006. Fucked Up have released 9 12”s of compositional, genre-less, long format songs (20mins plus) corresponding to the Chinese Zodiac, diving ever deeper into narrative forms including a 4 act opera (year of the horse), a musical palindrome (“onno”).

Fucked Up has toured the world extensively and under extraordinary circumstances – a vegetable oil powered school bus through the mountains of the American West Coast, a literal slow boat to China across the sea of Japan, and of course a humble van on any highway that will have them – and bring the same idiosyncrasy to the stage that they do to their records.

Belarusian post-punk / synth pop group Molchat Doma have always exuded the kind of brutalist aesthetic of the architecture that adorns their album art.
