The Gospel Pimps are the Alter Ego of Germany's well Known and Respected THE JUKE JOINT PIMPS, astead of focusing themselves to the Rawside of Chicago's Rhythm n Blues are from the late 40's early 50's the Gospel Pimps got inspired by the RAW POWER of Early Black Louisiana Gospel Singing Groups , they Even Invited a Gospel Choir into the Studio to Record Some of the songs.. the Band got inspired as well trough the PEACOCK and the SAVOY catalogue bands such as THE STAPLE SINGERS , FIVE BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA or even the arly' GOLDEN GATE QUARTET are big influence in their recordings . we are happy to produce their first 7" Vinyl Single on Voodoo Rhythm Records

FROM THE DEPTHS OF DUB COMES THE CULTURE CLASH CLASSIC STEPPER, Adam Forkner, with his latest piece of hot wax [DBN125] White Rainbow - "The Making of Thriller" b/w Selector Dub Narcotic - "The Making of Star Wars." This marks a home-coming of sorts, with Forkner returning to Dub Narcotic Studio to work with life-long friend and one time studio-mentor Calvin Johnson.

The Hive Dwellers are a small grouping of Pacific Northwest natives, led by the large sound of one Calvin Johnson. On their latest musical effort, [DBN126] - "Lynch the Swan" b/w Selector Dub Narcotic - "Dub the Swan" - Johnson and his alternating collection of collaborators fuse baritone vocals with melodica for an awkwardly peppy groove sensation.

Bobby Birdman is the ultraego of west coast musician Rob Kieswetter and he graces us with his musical interludes on "Don't Walk Away" b/w "Dub Walk". Born in San Diego, raised in Nevada City, braised in San Luis Obispo, grazed in Portland, OR, Bobby Birdman is currently living aloha in Los Angeles.Bobby Birdman has released music with Fryk Beat, States Rights Records, Not Not Fun and HUSH. He appears on records by K-related artists GIGI, Little Wings, Adam Forkner and YACHT. Lately, Bobby Birdman has been ripe with many musical projects. He remixed Young M.C.'s "Fastest Rhyme", released on Delicious Vinyl, produced music for L.A.'s Guy Fantastico and Nevada City's Golden Shoulders and composed music and sound installations for visual artist Geo_ McFetridge. He also contributed to new albums by YACHT, Ben Butler and Mousepad.

Kendl Winter is constantly on tour, so it's amazing that she somehow found the time to record her new 7" At the Same Time [DBN121;] But we're so glad she did! During a weekend stop-over in her hometown of Olympia, Kendl stopped in at Dub Narcotic to record this 7" that features Kendl, Joe Capoccia on bass, and Austin Cooper on Drums. Selector Dub Narcotic created a remix for the B Side of the album called "The Same Version," and both sides together create the perfect little snack pack to hold us over until she releases her next full-length! Both of these songs stay true to what we've come to love from Kendl; they're homegrown, feet in the dirt, clothes on the drying line in the front yard, sugary country.

Two brand new songs from Seapony, exclusive to this release. First material to follow the band's debut LP, Go With Me, also available on Hardly Art. The music of Seapony is refreshing in its simplicity. Most songs use no more than three chords, with an average running time around two-and-a-half minutes. Other bands make a fuss about coloring outside the lines, but Seapony aspires to the reverse, making each ditty distinctive while operating within the same basic sonic framework: Fuzz-drenched guitar playing simple chord progressions, topped with concise melodic hooks and singer Jen Weidel's breathy vocals. In lieu of a human drummer, the Seattle trio entrusts timekeeping to a vintage gizmo the size of a desktop calculator. The lyrics to "Dreaming," the track that catapulted them into the spotlight in late 2010, are just six lines long. Like YoungMarble Giants and Beat Happening before them, this young three-piece has generated excitement that belies their music's modest means. "Sailing" gently drifts on a simple, sleepy melody and soft handclaps, allowing space for crystalline layers of both acoustic and electric guitar. Xray Eyeballs is the brainchild of O.J. San Felipe. Originally from San Francisco, O.J. landed in Brooklyn in 2000 after numerous cross-country adventures. Upon settling, O.J. quickly cemented himself in the underground Brooklyn punk, noise, and indie scene playing in numerous bands including Golden Triangle (Mexican Summer, Hardly Art). While Golden Triangle is known as an all around party band that bashes out garage pop tunes that could easily be found on a Nuggets compilation, O.J. had something else in mind for Xray Eyeballs. Starting as a solo project, O.J. aimed to make pop songs that kids could remember after leaving the party. O.J. explains, "I just wanted to make every song sound like a lullaby." These songs are filled with dreamy pop hooks and melancholic melodies, covered in a spooky haze.

Brand new material from up and coming Seattle goth pop group. Seattle's GRAVE BABIES have been reverberating shimmery pop songs in the likes of Jesus and Mary Chain, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Smiths, and The Cure. Driving guitar riffs, weirdo synth and slamming drums. GRAVE BABIES' first single, "Gouge Your Eyes Out" was released by Danish label Skrot Up in the spring of 2010. Skrot Up released the first Grave Babies full length, "Deathface", in March 2011.

a 7" single by the Portland, OR band Blouse. Blouse are a 3-piece consisting of frontwoman Charlie Hiltion, Patrick Adams on bass, and Jacob Portrait on drums & production. They have a bit of Cureish sound and are very nice folks who are making very nice music. The single will consist of the A-side "Shadow" (which will appear on our RSD comp.) and the B-side "Nights and Days." The band self-recorded and produced the 7"in their art space in Portland and at Jackpot studios, also in Portland. The band's full length is scheduled to be released on the Captured Tracks label out of NYC.

For his first release on K, "In My Cave" b/w "I Know" - 7" Generifus, aka, Spencer Sult, delivers a love song to comfort and personal growth. In his own words: "These two songs are connected through an ongoing narrative and also bookend aloose period of about two years of songwriting. "InMy Cave," written first, explores a time of desperationand a need for familiar comfort. Emerging out fromthis safe place becomes a priority as the realizationemerges that an individual stuck in a place ofendless restful warmth can't progress any furtherinternally. In "I Know," written around a year and ahalf later, independence is found through maternalwisdom, intense experiences and learning outside ofthe previous song's "cave."

Campbell Kneale (Birchville Cat Motel) returns - some percussion rattles throughout, a few instruments are arguably perceptible, & a beautiful harmony of intensity creates a gorgeous tapestry of sounds.

The second album LAKE recorded for K, Let's Build a Roof [KLP213], included a song by drummer/multi-instrumentalist Lindsay Schief many consider one of its highlights, "Gravel". When the band returned from their U.S. tour following the release of Let's Build a Roof "Gravel" had a new fluid soulful feel to it that struck resident Dub Narcotic Studio producer Selector Dub Narcotic (aka Calvin Johnson) as a ripe candidate for the Dub Narcotic Disco Plate series of 7" 45 rpm phonograph records.

Returning for her second collaboration with the duo is Victoria Bergsman who previously contributed her dulcet tones to Honey Mine. As Young triumphs with glittering bombast - a true Balearic anthem. Cascading 808 fills mingle with steely acoustic guitar and chipmunked vocals while deep kettledrums and pulsing strings balance things out. It's a glorious celebration of Summer's fade, a song that looks forward by glancing back. Animal Collective's Panda Bear, fresh off the tremendous success of Person Pitch, delivers a reinterpretation that is at times frenetic and jarring, and at others meditative and soothing. London's Girl Unit revisits the pitched vocals and builds a sprawling epic that erupts into a throbbing payoff before subsiding to begin anew. Finally, the Korallreven boys wrap things up with a massive expansion of their original - an evolving, layered rhythm section lays the foundation for ecstatic builds of shimmering, hazy synths.

Wild Nothing, is the solo-project of Jack Tatum whose music is inspired by a longtime love affair with nostalgia. His debut full length album, Gemini, set to come out on Captured Tracks this spring, is full of dreamy, carefree synth-pop songs that linger with an inexplicable sense of regret. Prior to embarking on this recent solo-project Tatum sang and played guitar with the Abe Vigodaish tropical punk band Facepaint and the singer/songwriter project Jack and The Whale. In the summer of 2009 The Virginia tech-college student decided to embark on his first creative-solo project playing bass, guitar, synthesizer and drums while recording in his home-studio. He soon emerged with a unique brand of dreamy pop-songs influenced by bands like, My Bloody Valentine, Shop Assistants, Go-Betweens and Cocteau Twins. In 2009 he delivered a memorable cover of the Kate Bush song Cloudbusting, making it clear that Wild Nothing transcended the lo-fi pop-mold. On his debut album, Gemini, Tatum's frail vocals come warped in an oozing neon haze. Carefully orchestrated synth-pop arrangements, trebly guitar riffs and tattered drum machines blend together to create an intriguing,texturally rich glo-pop album that could come only from the young at heart.

Using orchestral strings, vanguard soundscapes and collected field recordings to conjure up a dense, cinematic world, the sinister, yet inviting "in Comfort" mixes acoustic instrumentation with digital filtering, swaying and unfolding amid the psycho-film-noir syntax of a Lunchian universe. Featuring Joseph Budenholzer ( founder of Backworld, has worked with Jarboe, Little Annie, David Tibet, Isobel Campbell, ..), James Johnston ( founding member of Gallon Drunk, and plays with Krautrock legends FAUST, was a member of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds from 1994 to 2008, ..), Fred Lonberg-Holm ( Valentine Trio, Lightbox Orchestra, member of The Peter Broetzmann Chicago 10tet, Vandermark5, ..), Perceval Bellone ( Strings of Consciousness), Manuel Zurria and Bela Emerson.

Imagine 100,000 drummers taking a break from a wank to practice drums in the basement of their parents' house. Everybody hates a drummer. Drummers all feel it. But drummers seem to love each other. Nobody knows why - or nobody bothers to ask them. Man Forever decided to sally forth to unknown climes - be it a moon landing - in the lunar module or orbiting in the commandmodule- who the F cares. Kid Millions wrote and recorded a piece in February of 2010 with a little help from his friends.Then he got the stupidest idea in the world: play this stuff live; take this shit on tour. He was bewildered by the enthusiasm of his admired compatriots. The drummers all came from the country without borders - the land of the helpless rats crawling around desperately in search of a scrap of PASSION, INNOVATION, ROCK, ENERGY, ACTION. They found it themselves. People don't "found" movements for nothing anyway. They found themselves and decided to create this twisted gnarled mass of a cataract to play live. Cut to Bloomington: the heart of the rock science movement and the home of the patrons of this project. Those wise men and women hosted the performance you now hold in your hands. Man Forever was just arriving in the lunar orbit. The module's detached and descending to the surface. Some of them are out of contact with mission control. The rats are scurrying everywhere now. It's time to get your head right.
