It's No Surprise The Music Bears More Than A Passing Resemblance To Ash Ra Tempel, Because Of Manuel Göttsching And His Guitar Playing. Also Jürgen Dollase Gives Some Nice Keyboard Work, Particularly The Piano, Farfisa Electric Piano, Synths, And Even A Little Mellotron. Klaus Schulze Were More Responsible For The More Droning Organ And Synth End Of Things, It's Pretty Obvious When He Plays It. The Legendary Producer Dieter Dierks Plays Bass On These Nearly Never Ending Improvisation. The Recording Was Transferred From The Original Analog Tapes At The Dierks Studios In Germany. And Carefully Remastered For An Incredible Result. Released On The Label "Kosmische Kuriere" (Cosmic Couriers)

How do you best describe Angel Olsen? From the lo-fi, sparse folk-melancholy of her 2010 EP, Strange Cacti, to the electrified, polished rock ‘n’ roll bursting from 2016’s beloved and acclaimed MY WOMAN, Olsen has refused to succumb to a single genre, expectation, or vision. Impossible to pin down, Olsen navigates the world with her remarkable, symphonic voice and a propensity for narrative, her music growing into whatever shape best fits to tell the story.

Phases is a collection of Olsen’s work culled from the past several years, including a number of never-before-released tracks. “Fly On Your Wall,” previously contributed to the Bandcamp-only, anti-Trump fundraiser Our First 100 Days, opens Phases, before seamlessly slipping into “Special,” a brand new song from the MY WOMAN recording sessions. Both “How Many Disasters” and “Sans” are first-time listens: home-recorded demos that have never been released, leaning heavily on Olsen’s arresting croon and lonesome guitar.

The b-sides compilation is both a testament to Olsen’s enormous musical range and a tidy compilation of tracks that have previously been elusive in one way or another. Balancing tenacity and tenderness, Phases acts as a deep-dive for longtime fans, as well as a fitting introduction to Olsen’s sprawling sonics for the uninitiated.

There’s a palpable sense of energy and enthusiasm from the audience captured on the tapes at this concert as
King Crimson (sharing a European tour with then label band mates Roxy Music)
take to the stage in Fréjus, France, in late Summer, 1982.
With two albums’ worth of material to draw upon (Discipline, Oct 1981& Beat, June 1982) & extensive touring that had already seen the band play concerts
in the UK, Europe, USA & Japan, the live shows - as often with King Crimson –
had a dynamism & punch that simply couldn’t be replicated
in a recording studio. Add a pair of classic KC instrumentals, (Red & Larks’ Tongues in Aspic Part Two),
to that mix & all the ingredients were there for a very special performance.
Recorded initially for a video release, the audio from the concert has, inexplicably, never been issued as a standalone release
Nor has a live album from the 1980s line-up previously appeared on vinyl.
Sheltering Skies presents the complete King Crimson performance across
2LPs pressed on 200gram vinyl or a single CD, both completed with the addition of the recording of ‘The Sheltering Sky’
from the previous night’s concert at Cap d’Agde
The 1980s King Crimson was, in terms of concert performances/ album releases,
still less than a year old when this album was recorded.
The collective decades’ of experience of the individual musicians is funnelled through the enthusiasm & freshness of the
line-up & the newness of the material to produce a special concert recording.
While King Crimson material from this period is always in demand, with the forthcoming US tour by Beat (King Crimson’s
Adrian Belew & Tony Levin, joined by guitarist Steve Vai & Tool drummer Danny Carey), performing the materia
l from that period, there is increased interest in hearing this material as it was originally performed.

Lukas de Clerck has interpreted information from the rare archaeological resources and visual art of the classical Greek period to recreate both playing technique and possible sound timbres with the instrument. With his contemporary approach to drone, post-minimalist music, and contemporary folk, we find a deeply satisfying and compelling, even playful set of songs, timbral exercises and compositions.An important document of new music meets contemporary archaemusicological research via Stephen O'Malley of SUNN O)))'s label Ideologic Organ._The telescopic aulos is speculative: might it have existed? It takes on features from the historical aulos, a double-reed instrument of which we know how it looked but little about what music was played on it or how it would have really sounded. It's an instrument without the limitations of canon or manual, providing creative freedom and awakening curiosity.The new instrument featured on this album is ancient and futuristic at once. The aulos has no tone holes; instead, each of the two tubes consists of three parts that can slide into each other. In this sense, the metal pipes bear a certain resemblance to the principle of a trombone. However, since both hands are already in use to hold both tubes, the sliding has to be done by way of gravity and the help of a «phorbeia», a leather mask which helps keep the reeds in place. The aulos's material is metal (instead of wood), which gives it a certain electronic allure and intensity, as well...

Growing Eyes Becoming String' is the sixteenth studio album from British noise-rock pioneers The Telescopes. Originally recorded over two sessions back in 2013 - one over a harsh Berlin winter in the Brian Jonestown Massacre studio with Fabien Leseure, and a second back in Leeds with early Telescopes producer Richard Formby - it's a lost treasure that nearly never was. Succumbing to a hard-drive crash nearly a decade ago, the sessions were presumed lost and soon forgotten, until now. Miraculously rescued from the digital ether and finished by founding member Stephen Lawrie in his own studio over the pandemic, the album is now finally set for release in February 2024 via Fuzz Club and reveals another side to where The Telescopes were at in 2013. Where their physical output at the time mostly consisted of experimental noise improvisations, so far removed from any obvious structure, 'Growing Eyes Becoming String' shows how The Telescopes - Lawrie backed by London experimental unit One Unique Signal - were actually creating more song-based music in a parallel existence. Across its seven tracks are all the trademarks of quality that longtime fans associate with The Telescopes' music. Solid songs, melody, harmony, noise, dissonance, improvisation, experimentation and an all-embracing journey beyond the realm of natural vision. "The objective with both sessions was to go in blind and be entirely in the moment", Lawrie recalls: "There were no preconceived ideas, everything was written as it went along. Much like our drive to Berlin, through an intense blizzard with almost zero visibility, we were relying on the heightened instinct of being entirely in the now." The result is another masterfully hypnotic set that matches its more melodic spaced-out moments against heavy drone-rock blow-outs: "Loaded with guitars, noise and melody, swirling around pounding repetition, this is a more vocal document of where The Telescopes head was at during that time." 180g frosted clear vinyl, printed inner-sleeve, download card included. “Wet Cactus” is an heavy rock band with psychedelic hints created in Cantabria (Spain) during the summer of 2013. The band is formed by Daniel Pascual (Voice & Bass), Ernesto Díez (Guitar), Óscar Sánchez (Guitar) and Jaime Pérez (Drums). They have two studio albums: "Wet Cactus" (2015) and "Dust, Hunger & Gloom" (2018). During their career, they carved out a place in the Nothern Spanish rock scene playing with bands like Yawning Man as well as in festivals like Resurrection Fest. "Magma Tres" is the band's third project. This conceptual album delves into the consequences of Earth's depletion as a life-sustaining planet due to human inaction in reversing their actions. Eight tracks recorded live in February 2022, showcasing a gritty and explosive atmosphere. It is set to be released in November 2023 through Electric Valley Records.

Reissue of DREAMVIOLENCE, which was BAMBARA's full-length follow-up to their acclaimed debut EP Dog Ear Days (2010). After playing countless deafening shows in their hometown of Athens, touring the US in sweaty house shows and sharing bills with Iceage, Grimes, Liturgy, A Place to Bury Strangers, and Parts and Labor, BAMBARA decided to leave their beloved Athens and move to a basement apartment in Bushwick, Brooklyn for a change. Here they practiced, slept and recorded for the majority of 2012. Following the release of a Kate Bush cover and a 10 minute improv noise EP RINGS early in the year, BAMBARA began to work on DREAMVIOLENCE.With a minimal recording set-up and little sunlight, the band was able to completely capture the dark, grimy, noisy sound they are known for while maintaining the lush beauty that glues it all together. Reid's voice croons and snarls the fragmented images of the city. Blaze and William's driving rhythm section plows and swings through the dirge of vocal noise with furious power. BAMBARA doesn't want you to get comfortable in DREAMVIOLENCE. They prefer to send you through vortexes of haunting noise before you reach the dreamy euphoria waiting in the wreckage.

The recurrent sounds from Besseny and Bowman’s intrepid field and bush explorations often verge on an indistinguishability between the synthesised and the concrete-organic. Permutated hand percussion or the throbbing of a waterfall; xylophonic melody or the tape loop of a bird call. The clank and tings of unidentified objects, matter itself writhing in the veggie garden. An environment starts speaking from iron gates in a paddock anywhere, close to the damp leaf and loam of a forest floor far below unseen birds and their cacophony of song and chatter. In 2020, during the pandemic and second lockdown, the opportunity arose for Oracle Sisters to record their debut album on the island of Hydra. Tourist free, locked down with only fishing boats in the harbour and locals as the backdrop, it proved to be the perfect peaceful place to work.In a studio-converted Old Carpet Factory, 35 songs were written and 20 were recorded, with 11 making the final track listing. The songs reflect the feeling of being suspended in time, locked down in a safe place but aware of the fragility of the moment. "Hydranism" acknowledges the spirit of hedonistic escape inherent on the island while giving a nod to the sage atmosphere it provided to lose oneself in reveries and create unencumbered.The recordings are built on a skeleton of live takes with vocals and acoustic guitars recorded in the kitchen, the drums (Cyprien Jacquet a.k.a Wend¥ Kîll) and bass (Jerome Goldet) in the old furnace room, while the vocals done in the ballroom and the handclaps the shower. The album took on the shape of the Old Carpet Factory, suspended on a steep incline overlooking the Hydra harbour and the distant hills of the Peloponnese. Layering upright and baby grand pianos, with the help of touring band member Reni Lane, they embraced the lofty resonance inherent in the hammered harp; harmonies followed while a sauce simmered on the stove. In style and tradition, the meat and bones of the sound embraces the style of larger than life ballads, intimate folk songs and table thumping rousers, from there to glam rock to the toy sounds you might hear in the neon gaming district of Shibuya, Tokyo. All these sounds reflect the life and travels of the band and their openness to use whatever they encounter on their path.
