Anniversary reissue of the legendary art-rock album

This year is a multi-significant year for the commemoration of this album, originally released in 1979. In addition to the milestone anniversaries of the singer, keyboardist and composer Lesek Semelka’s seventy-fifth birthday and the same, but unfortunately untimely, anniversary of guitarist, composer and bandleader Radim Hladik, there are also variously rounded reminders of the passing of the drummer Vlado cech and the lyricist Pavel Vrba. All of them – as well as another singer and keyboardist Oldrich Vesely, artist Petr Sis and photographer Alan Pajer – have a major contribution to the album, then released under the forced title M. Efekt.

The extensive compositions, poetic lyrics (all of which can be found in the booklet) and musicianship were perfectly suited to the sound of, for example, the English Yes, but with undoubted domestic specialties. The five compositions bring at least two even in a completely different line-up of the band later often played, namely “Hledam sve vlastni ja” (Looking for My Own Self) and Rajky.

A fundamental challenge for anyone with a taste for arranged, listener-demanding rock that never lacks strong melodies, suitably fanciful lyrics, appealing instrumental performances and extraordinary singing.

The 2nd album 'Ame agari no Machi', which was released in 1973 by Tomio Terada, a rare melody maker who made his major debut as the first Japanese artist on the MGM label in 1972, has been highly acclaimed as a masterpiece of cafe rock. The first LP reprint! A masterpiece of Japanese folky and mellow groove that combines the sounds of Tomio Terada and Hiro Yanagida, a former April Fool's Day.

Deluxe reissue of their 1989 sophomore album pressed on pale blue Color Vinyl. Presented in a gloss laminated gatefold sleeve, which features the original LP plus a bonus disc with all the A and B sides, some compilation tracks and an outtake, plus a 12-page booklet containing previously unpublished lyrics and tons of contemporary reviews and photos.

In 1968 the Münchner Kommune, formed in 1967, had applied to Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser, the organizer of the Essen Songtage, for a gig there. When the Düüls arrived in Essen, already two bands of this name in the meantime, since 3 members had split off and now called themselves Amon Düül II. "Paradieswärts Düül" was released in 1971, it's the third album of this outfit. Transferred from the original analog tapes at Dierks Studios and carefully re-mastered.

Merge Records is thrilled to release the 35th anniversary edition of Neurotica, the 1987 power pop and alternative rock opus by Redd Kross. This reissue includes the original album, remastered by JJ Golden (Pearl Jam, Thee Oh Sees), as well as 12 previously unreleased demos from the era (rediscovered recently in the archives of the band's original A&R guy, Geoffrey Weiss). The double vinyl edition-the album on translucent turquoise, the demos on translucent orange-arrives in a slick gatefold jacket.For Neurotica, brothers Jeff and Steven McDonald enlisted a grand crew of musicians that included guitarist Robert Hecker, keyboardist Paul Roessler (Screamers, Nervous Gender), and Roy McDonald (The Muffs) on drums. And in the producer's chair guiding the young bucks? Tommy Erdelyi, aka Tommy Ramone, one of the originators of punk rock melody. Unshakeable hooks on tracks like "Peach Kelli Pop" and title track "Neurotica" would inspire rave reviews at the time of the album's original release in 1987. The L.A. Times' Craig Lee wrote: "In an age when too many bands base their music either on calculated career moves or heavy-handed pretensions, Redd Kross is as breezy as a kiss in the wind, a band born to rock in a world that forgot how." Decades later, Pitchfork would revisit the album with a glowing write-up: "Pop culture nostalgia was to Redd Kross what LSD was to the Butthole Surfers; their music was delivered with just as furious a passion, but their love for Beatles-esque pop harmony shone through as much as any punk sensibility, and their Kinks influences, entirely free of irony, served as lyrical substance over their powerful, hi-octane hooks." Plain and simple, Neurotica is just a fantastic piece of art.

Originally released in 1981, Fischer-Z’s “Red Skies Over Paradise” was the last album featuring the classic line-up.

2021 Re-mastered, reissue, 180g Red Colored Vinyl. Originally released in 1983 by the talented artist who is one of the inventors of Anatolian Rock in 1960s. Although this sort of music was pretty much disappeared around 1980, this album still has the psychedelic rock elements. Erkin Koray took 3 songs from The Devil’s Anvil’s (American Psychedelic Rock Band) 1967 debut album called “Hard Rock From Middle East” and wrote the Turkish lyrics. The fuzzy and groovy guitar tunes never get you bored.

Never available in this format before, Kill Kill Kill was originally released by Painters AND Dockers as a 4-track 12” ep in 1985.

This new full lengthy album version presents those covers of The Groovy Guru, Supernaut, The Ramones, and The Saints, alongside a couple of more covers (The American Breed, and The Velvet Underground), plus a handful of rare b-sides from the band’s 80’s singles.

Sabotage Organized Barbarian, best known by their acronym S.O.B were part of a hardcore punk movement in the 80s that envigorated Japanese youth along with other acts like Gism and Gauze. The ravaging tempos and punishing aural densities grappled with the ears, and their sphere of influence quickly broke the banks of their native Osaka, with acts like Napalm Death acknowledging the bands importance for their own sound and grindcore to come.

In 1988, S.O.B teamed up with Alchemy Records founder Jojo Hiroshige, and his prolific Japanoise band Hijokaidan to form S.O.B Kaidan. With Hiroshige’s crushing distortion squeals stacked on top of S.O.B’s high-tempo percussive aggression, the two made quick work of anything that dared to obstruct their path at the cross-sections of hardcore and noise.

Their only LP Noise Violence and Destroy remains the only relic of their collaboration, and has become hard to find. The initial batch of 3000 LPs were quickly snapped up, and the brief CD runs that followed are now rare items. As part of the Alchemy Records Essential Collections series, P-vine is thrilled to reissue Noise Violence and Destroy on limited edition vinyl for the first time with an iconic Japanese obi strip attached.

Ltd re-issue on white vinyl ! C'est disco is the first studio album by the Italian band Rats. It was released in 1981 by Italian Records and is a record strongly inspired by the wave and dark scene of that period. In 2014 the record was reissued in a vinyl version with the addition of a bonus CD featuring the complete album plus the song Tattoo, initially discarded from the album's tracklist and included in a compilation. The band's line-up featured vocalist Claudia Lloyd on vocals, and on guitar the only member present in the more famous version active in the late '80s and '90s, Wilko Zanni, who in the next album would take Claudia Lloyd's place on vocals.

First-ever vinyl reissue of the Prisoners’ 1985 third album, on 180g transparent blue vinyl.

At this point in the band’s career, the Prisoners were taking new influences on board. The old favourites of early Deep Purple, Arthur Brown and the Small Faces were present and correct, but whilst signed to Big Beat, Graham Day had picked up a large chunk of Kent soul LPs put together by Ady Croasdell. These led to some new influences that would show themselves over their next recordings.

The resultant album was the band’s own favourite. It opened with the magisterial ‘Nobody Wants Your Love’, co-written by Day and Billy Childish. It carried on through a series of nascent anthems, freaked out instrumentals and several stranger moments. ‘Whenever I’m Gone’, ‘Nobody Wants Your Love’ and ‘Who’s Sorry Now’ were all stand-out moments that fans of the band loved both live and on vinyl.

After a further album in 1986, “Countdown”, the Prisoners disbanded but they went on to have an interesting afterlife. Keyboard player James Taylor enjoyed chart hits with his acid jazz group, while Graham Day and Allan Crockford continued to make thrilling guitar-based music. When the Prisoners reformed in 1994 they were bigger than ever, playing to venues many sizes bigger than they had first time around. Their influence continues to be felt today.

Medway garage band the Prisoners are loved by a legion of fans, including quite a few who went on to be in successful bands themselves. Those who saw them live speak in reverential terms, yet they never sold records in large amounts and their gigs, whilst packed, were almost always in small venues.

“Thewisermiserdemelza” – an excellent embodiment of their British R&B-influenced sound – falls into an odd place in their career. They often professed to be unhappy with the album, yet their first-generation fans cherish it, particularly songs such as ‘Hurricane’. It was recorded in 1983 for Ace Records’ Big Beat label and produced by Phil Chevron – a new experience for the band, who self-released their first album, “A Taste Of Pink”.

The record shows the growing complexity of their music – the contrast in the influences between 1964 and 1966 (the rougher R&B moving into nascent psychedelia). It is a cracking listen from beginning to end. The fast tracks such as ‘Hurricane’, ‘Love Me Lies’ and ‘Somewhere’ are coruscating, whilst the beautiful ‘Tonight’ offers an insight into other directions that the band would take.

In the summer of 1981, The Fall embarked on their second American tour, criss-crossing the States over a two-month period. Featuring the dual guitar of Marc Riley and Craig Scanlon and rhythm section of Stephen Hanley and Karl Burns, A Part Of America Therein, 1981 would document this fabled journey with crucial performances that show the band evolve from noisemaking lout cultists into true post-punk legends. "From the riot-torn streets of Manchester, England to the scenic sewers of Chicago ..." as the album opens unforgettably with a nameless promoter introducing The Fall, who proceed to tear into a hypnotic take on "The N.W.R.A." stretched into a near stare-down that is wholly different than the studio version on Grotesque. The LP highlights Mark E. Smith's incomparable bite, heard most notably on the adlibbed vitriol of "Totally Wired," where not even the costumed punks were safe from a proper dressing down. A Part Of America Therein, 1981 proves once again that The Fall's constant rally against complacency was a top-down directive and intrinsic to their wonderful and frightening sound.
