Bax is back. First released in 2011, Mosca’s UKG homage, ‘Bax’, did big things when it landed. Almost 10 years on, it’s time for a repress. Though Mosca missed the golden era of garage in the nineties, he caught on to darkside pioneers such as Horsepower Productions, Benny Ill and El-B later on. A blend of homegrown British styles lies at the core of his electronic music influences, early dubstep, jungle, minimal grime and bassline, which he’d experienced first-hand at Sheffield’s legendary Niche club. (Little known fact: The name Bax is a partial nod to Steve Baxendale, the man behind Niche). All these elements coalesced in the studio and the two-tracker materialised in a couple of days. Both sides of the record do their thing on the floor; ‘Bax’ with its now infamous ‘My DJ is live in the place’ sample, that earworm melody and a ruffneck b-line. On the flip ‘Done Me Wrong’ sees Mosca incorporate several key garage tropes; the bassline swinging alongside soulful vocals (which get sliced and diced), not forgetting that cheeky rewind. Informed by a highly influential early 1980s electronic music classic, the title track literally mind-sets the theme of Llewellyn’s latest release, kicking off with a euphoric vibe and drums shimmering with digital artifacts. At times almost dreamy cinematic pads, upfront with energetic Moroder-esque propelling bass lines, are the sound signatures of Llewellyn’s journey through a warm and synthesizer laden EP, reviving the sound aesthetics of both the post-discoid VHS and today’s club era with a contemporary touch. Finishing off with a laid-back facet, this four track EP contains enough warmth and drive to get you safely through the cold months, into a warm and promising future. Llewellyn is one of Martin Enke’s producer’s monikers, who is closely associated with the Riotvan crew and also known as Lake People. Turbo Recordings brings you a special 10-year anniversary repress in transparent vinyl of Azari & III's classic self-titled debut album. Azari & III's unique blend of moody electronica, dark yet hooky vocal choruses and analog-thick rhythms has earned them both Juno and Polaris Prize nominations, cementing their status as one of the most important acts in Canadian dance music of the last decade. The four-piece band, consisting of producer/musicians Dinamo Azari and Alixander III with vocalists Fritz Helder and Starving YetFull, have crafted a defining sound that relishes in its references while maintaining a forward-looking perspective even ten years after it's initial release. Although the group has since disbanded, their legacy lives on.

As one of the early pioneers of NYC’s unground dance movement Victor Simonelli channelled that New York house sound via range of labels he oversaw in the ‘90s. One such outlet was Big Big Trax and to provide a little light in these testing times, Victor has provided the keys to some of the label’s most treasured cuts, remastered for a new generation of listeners. Casting its net far and wide, from Australia to Finland, via the UK and Tunisia, One Eye Witness’ maiden VA drop gathers a quartet of the international producers who’ve come to pique our interest in recent months. Starting with Tunis-based up-and-comer HearThug, who steps up with “Alien All Too Alien” - a steadily pulsatory, 303-marinated dasher interlarded with flocks of pugnacious talk box stabs and rattling drums, making it a proper DJ-friendly weapon for any hour of the day. Helsinki’s Jeku follows up with the tribal acid churner ‘Aftermath’, laying down a sleek, sub-heavy earworm prepped on submerging systems from under the deepest layers of the spectrum with its fluttering melody, sturdy basswork and FX-laden synthesis. Flip the coin over and here goes London-based groove manipulator Sohrab, entering the melee with ‘Ataraxia’ - a hypnotic slice of stealth mode, Gaussian-blurred dub techno that does exactly what’s written on the tin. The final number ’Surrender’ comes courtesy of rising Sydney-based producer Cousin, who treats us to a tripped-out ethereal riddim making the rounds betwixt the vaporous serenity of ambient and deep dub vibrations. EEE are back at it again, taking a 2000's RnB vocal you thought you knew, but you ain’t never heard in this context. Bumping synth heavy roller territory made all the more seductive with that naughty RnB flex.

Including 13 tracks carefully selected by Brescia based, Rebirth label boss Shield, with the Art direction of Stupefacente studio, ranging from the formerly unreleased, rare as F, and very, very expensive records (ranging from £20 to £200 per copy) all beautifully presented in this retro styled 1990 world cup sleeve along with a 20 page booklet with a background story to this influential sound. Tracks featured from DJ Ralf, Alex Neri, Optik, Morenas, Sueño Latino, Leo Anibaldi and many many more.

KZA is one of best dj in the modern disco/house scene in japan and also well known as vinyl digger. this album was made with his knowdlege from his big collection of vinyl. Fresh and direct from Toronto, Pacific Rhythm is pleased to welcome Emissive (aka Evan Vincent) for a solo cruise on the label. While Vincent has appeared on the label twice as part of house music duo Active Surplus (alongside Ian Syrett), this new EP entitled Wave Science sees the young musician push his sound into warmer and more melodic waters. Vincent says the new tracks pay tribute to the Black American roots of electronic music; a historical fact the producer says is an ongoing source of motivation and inspiration in his work. Indeed, this new four-tracker sees Emissive bring in a pinch of futuristic boogie and cosmic funk to his dancefloor recipe—versatile flavours that should go down quite well at a variety of Dance Opportunities in the very near future! All of the tunes were composed and mixed at Vincent’s home studio in Canada’s largest city, with the tracks getting a warm, Hi-Fi mixdown via Syrett’s Nagra IV reel-to-reel. Tech talk aside, Vincent says he wanted to avoid over-analyzing the production and instead summon the spirits of dance, love and seasonal warmth. Or as the artist himself says: “Less thinking, more feeling.” Check it out and we’re sure you’ll agree his approach paid off!

At only 19 years old, French producer Theos says that last year he decided to dedicate his life to music. Now he has scored his first vinyl EP, continuing Shall Not Fade's new Killer Cuts series that focuses on no-filler dancefloor oriented house music. There's more than a touch of French to the funky groove of We Miss The Crowd, featuring collabs from Denyl Brook, Cosmonection and Romeo Louisa.

Opening out the record, "Lie Machine" is a delicious warm-up for what is to come. The unstoppable bassline and disco guitar samples get your hips moving while vocal snatches get into your head and won't get out. The title track's sultry groove is similarly catchy, with the pulsing kick and deep bass melody evoking a nod to the deep tech sound of UK house music but panning synths adding that filter house edge, sweeping the listener on to "Keep Creating Your World". The hard pulse of this track is balanced with sweeping pads, ethereal and summery. Organic jazzy piano loops take centre stage in the sublime production.

Onto the B-side and three stellar collaborations with some more of the best France has to offer; "Jazzy Cruise" with Denyl Brook is skippy, upbeat day party gear, with classic noughties filter sounds that tease the ears. Theos and Cosmonection work together on "Unusual Ego"; sweet fuzzy chords but an Ed Banger style melody keep the record pumping for the closer, "Spread Positivity" with Romeo Louisa. Cool and dance floor ready, the climax of the EP is full of nothing but good vibes.

Stockholm native Viggo Dyst joins Shall Not Fade's roster for their new Classic Cuts series, serving up ear candy and sparkling sounds on Everything Else Is Secondary EP. Fresh from a successful release with Swedish label Vivrant, he is also joined by stalwarts of the scene Baltra and 1800-girls for two gorgeous reworks.

The focus for this TLM 7" is on SofaTalk from Italy, on the A side we have a superb track called Organica with main man Piero Paolinelli on Roland V-Drum, Arp Odyssey and Juno 106 with Marcus Horndt on Fender Rhodes and Edoardo Ruzzi on the Electric Bass. On the AA side Piero goes solo for Untold Stories, another superb track highlighting Piero's talents. Piero runs his own label Cognitiva Records and has had releases on deepArtSounds and Anma Records amongst others, we are very proud to have him onboard for this release.

Constantly bending genres, Montreal born Jacques Greene is one of dance music's enigmatic and pioneering producers, highly revered by the likes of Pitchfork.

Team Schatzi's racking up another batch of tracks, this time for a game of eightball, and we've got one for each pocket on the table. Little bit of classic crackly disco, little bit of freaky funk, little bit of heavy-duty house, all handmade with a whole lotta love in the hometown of Brooklyn, New York. Run the table with these disco diamonds. Just don't sink the eight early, alright? Signs point to Schatzi!

This new remix from the Brooklynite is a glorious one baked in the sun's warming rays. It's built on a loose, Latin-tinged beat with big chords, expressive xylophone stylings and plenty of irresistible syncopation. The buttery smooth vocals bring the soul up top and help make this a timeless tune that will unite all dance floors. An instrumental mix is also included that strips things back, shows off the track's effortless musicianship, and draws out the beats for extra dance floor impact.

The 4-tracker kicks off with "Offenbach Anthem" bounces along with a varied post-disco inspired beat and oh-so-deep bassline that strikes against the aerated chords of the melody. Dramatic strings add to the disco flavour, the fluid and glittery opener cruises into the tight, 4-to-the-floor business and stuttering stabs of "13 Steps To Heaven".

Rave energy takes over on "Oh No No No"; organ takes centre stage blending with crooning diva vocalisations - releasing the tension of the last track into an overflow of euphoria. French techno pioneer/DJ/Producer Laurent Garnier – friend of Ed Banger records - and Mad Rey, new signing of Ed Banger (also co-founder of D.K.O Records & Red Lebanese labels) did exclusive remixes of 2 MYD ‘s classic songs. Family business and definitely a Club 12’’, offering both remixes & original versions.

A1 is that classic Nebraska “This Is The Way” vibe; warm, atmospheric, sample-heavy 21st century disco with a truly euphoric build and release. A2 revises that first tune in a more tripped-out excursion. Both B-side tracks feature a French spoken-word vocal from BeBelle. “Fuis” is a blissed-out slow jam, whilst “Espace Fuis” picks the tempo back up again, adding a celestial choir and a fritzed-out arpeggiator solo.

Honing your skills is under-appreciated in times of instant gratification and the continuous stream of music. Rotterdam-based producer Kofi The Unknown subverts this idea and took time for spiritual introspection, studying rhythms and sound production. Where being a late bloomer normally is seen as a sobriquet, the producer, composer and beatmaker wears it as a badge of honour and solidifies it as an honorary title by pinning it to his debut EP on Wicked Wax: The Late Bloomer. Wearing his heart on his sleeve, Kofi The Unknown shares his journey that led to The Late Bloomer, an emotional journey through sophisticated dance music, straight from the heart, aimed at the soul and feet.

Highly influential to Kofi’s sound and this EP is London’s Broken Beat scene. Syncopated drums, soulful chords and heavy bass lines work in tandem to emphasise the danceability the genre is known for. This is further solidified by the track Kofi released leading up to this release: One for Motet, an ode to the Broken Beat MC and Jazz Refreshed host Jason Hicks. The Late Bloomer further develops Kofi’s ode, but provides his Rotterdam flavour and brings his Hip Hop and Funk lineage into the mix.

Embrace Mistakes sets the stage for what’s to come in various ways. It is a textbook case of how dance music can tell a story and be introspective. Kofi’s honesty shines bright on the entire EP and strikes from the first kick drum on. It also shouldn’t be hard to recognise and feel the emotion the producer shares on the title track The Late Bloomer. The emotionally-laced chords and crushing drums are reminiscent of late nights at a warehouse or emotional sequences from a dystopian movie.

Staying true to his ethos ’exploring the university that music holds’, Kofi finds this beyond music production as The Late Bloomer provides an audible experience through creative mixing. Stuttering analog synths, enveloping leads, multiple percussion rhythms and off-beat snare rolls hit from all directions of the stereo spectrum, further underlining the sophistication of his merit. While the EP follows the Broken Beat accents on dance, it is an equally mindful listening experience.

Kofi The Unknown is a Rotterdam native producer with a knack for rhythms. His keen ear is informed by mentor and Dutch enigma Trian Kayhatu. While Kofi has taken the time to perfect his skills under the guidance of Trian, the two are simultaneously working on the exciting follow-up project to this debut EP. Without looking too far ahead, enjoy The Late Bloomer. It’s not only a crown jewel Kofi proudly wears, it is also establishing him as a future household name in the sophisticated dance scene. "

Toolroom founder and Grammy-nominated producer Mark Knight announces his new album Untold Business: 13-track collection of vocal house music which aims to inject a much-needed dose of meaning and longevity into the world of dance music. Mark Knight has gone back to his roots on his new album Untold Business, reprising the sounds and records that made him the artist he is today. Diving through his extensive collection of classic Funk, House, Soul and Disco records from the 1970s and 80s has provided the bedrock for the album, which is an homage to the soulful, vocal-led house music that Mark first fell in love with in the 90s.

Kerri Chandler returns to his own Kaoz Theory label with ‘Prayer’, featuring the vocals of F L Brown, and in true Chandler fashion comprised of a variety of mixes on the single Over the past twenty releases Kaoz Theory has showcased material from the likes of Ben Rau, Satoshi Tomiie, DJ Sneak, DJ W!ld, Art Department and DJ Deep as well as of course material from the label-boss himself, Kerri Chandler.

Here the latter deliver his latest single, entitled ‘Prayer’ and as the name would suggest channelling gospel house influence in varying forms.

The ‘Media Mix’ leads the way over choppy bass stabs, cinematic piano lines and shuffled 909 drums. Followed by the instrumental for those who like to get the heads down, and just groove.

The ‘623 Again Vocal Mix’ on the flip, shifts things into Dub Techno realms courtesy of a bumpy, driving rhythm, unfaltering stabs and robust low-end tones.

To wrap things up the ‘Feel Mix’ follows next, stripping things back to crunchy drums, airy chords and a snaking bass groove.
