Swiss label Phantom Island's second compilation features 5 previously unreleased tracks from the label's roster. The A-side kicks off with L.A.-based Maraschino remixed by Fuga Ronto, a bass-laden treatment that nods to the dancefloor. Second is Zurich's own crooner who is looking for fun: Moreeats, remixed by label co-owner Kejeblos. This is groove-heavy business that will get stuck in your ears. The B-side leads into dreamier realms, starting with CCO (Florin Büchel) in his most cosmic acid outfit. Followed by Ethimm, whose contribution proves his ability to create a romantic genre mix on a carefully arranged mid-tempo tune. The EP is brought to a close by Lexx with a soothing instrumental that will take you safely through a gentle drizzle of rain. Around six years ago, a bunch of djs, musicians and music lovers started gathering for weekly five-a-side football matches on a small, run-down pitch in Kreuzberg 61. Because much like music, football brings people together, wherever they are from. This collection has been a long time coming and collects tracks by players from seven different nationalities, all based in Berlin, united by both their love of the beautiful game as well as their passion for electronic club music. 11 tracks are on offer here (what did you expect?), each one dedicated to the composer’s football hero - a tribute to their unique skill and the beautiful moments they’ve brought us on the pitch. As such, the tracklist forms an all-star fantasy “Mannschaft". Compiled by player-coach Tristan Jong (aka Gratts) and made possible thanks to Markus Lindner (aka Delfonic), the package lives on the grass pitch between corner flags techno, deep house, disco and broken beats. It features music by established underground artists like Venezualan digger Trujillo, We Play House Recordings stalwart Harry Baldi or Juliano as well as debuts from the likes of Nemorna, James Martin and plenty more indeed. Five of the tracks are pressed loud onto vinyl as a club sampler - including full artwork comprising of some of the team pictures taken throughout the year - to the complete 11 track package. “Una Vida De Barrio”, then? Cryovac Recordings is a loose collective of collaborators bound by a strong personal view of the techno sound. The outfit assembled to create this installment of Cryovac are diverse in approach and unified in spirit. They are the maintainers of their style, and leaders of their movements. Cryovac is based in Detroit and is a platform brought to life by the efforts of a vinyl community of craftsmen and artists. Cryovac endures to shine light on a path less traveled . The E.P. starts with Jason Garcia’s “down like”a crispy 4/4 slide back rocker groove intermittently intersected by urgent synth, earsplitting climaxes, and compulsive samples that form rhythm. Body Mechanic follows up with a couple swigs of old school tec- funk surrounded by a dreaming synth lost in the memories of the fat boys. Flip to the backside where Garcia & Kretsch deliver “LA80s” a theme that is story told with dramatic synth, driving kick and bass, and triumphant rises and falls tying and dying together. Isaac Prieto’s “Searching” takes us out with a smooth minimal animal that shifts an easy melody and turns sleekly through a gauntlet of hi-hat , clap, and twisted sharp detunes.

Teddy Douglas presents Monday Night Studio Sessions Live @ Rockwell is a unique recording from a legendary event that is all about putting the focus on house music's finest artists. Monday Night Studio Sessions @ Rockwell is the brainchild of the imitable house impresario Teddy Douglas and his partner DJ Tanz. The night started in 2017 and ever since has showcased true artistic talent in a perfect setting with the legendary likes of Byron Stingly, Lalah Hathaway, Jasper St Company and Josh Milan, just a few of the animus who have played in the past. This session was live on the Monday and then recorded in Teddy's studio the night after with Davon McCoy on percussion, Charles Dockins on keyboards and the maestro DJ Tanz and Teddy Douglas conducting the show. Standout tracks on this essential collection include the 'I'm Blessed' Remix by Richard Burton with its driving gospel handclaps and Charles Dockin's magical live piano over the top. 'Spanish Joint' is a chunky dance floor party record that builds and builds with mesmerizing and hypnotic Spanish guitar played by Skip and the Whole Nine Yards. It is the Monday night theme song and gets played twice a night. 'You Can Do It' by Barbara Tucker, Zhana, and Teddy Douglas was the first single from the LP last year and epitomizes the musical house grooves you can expect at one of these sessions. Rochelle Fleming's 'Nobody's Fool' and 'Get Lifted' by Andrea Holdclaw were two strong singles before the pandemic, and 'We Belong Together' from the voice of house, Mr Bryon Stingily, and Teddy Douglas is the 100th release on the label, and it has a catchy hook that adds to the legacy of Byron Stingly classics. 'Rise (instrumental)' from Teddy Douglas is an absolute crowd favourite with powerful grinding organs that wail and moan with intensity throughout the tune. 'Gotta Get Away' is DJ Tanz's first production and an absolute killer with a techy 80's edge design to get the floor pumping. Add in the live and off-the-cuff happenings of Navasha Daya scatting to the crowd over 'Supernova Spinning' and percussionist Davon McCoy and saxophonist Brandon Moultrie having a jam session - you have a magical session captured in all its glory. The sublime collection is a real labour of love that features superbly talented artists at the top of their game.

Licensed directly from the legendary Martiniquan label Hibiscus Records, the EP features cuts by Eugène Mona and Max Ransay, two of Martinique's most storied musicians. With reworks by Spanish DJ and producer Kiko Navarro and the Sol Power All-Stars, this one will be in the record bags of discerning DJs all summer long.
The A side features 'Lizo' by Eugène Mona, an essential figure in the folkloric music of Martinique based on the bamboo flute, bèlè drums, and the island's specific variant of Antillean creole. Lizo was originally released in 1990 on Mona's Blanc Mangé Blan Manjé? LP and is anchored by frenetic percussion, a driving bassline, and house-evocative key stabs. Kiko Navarro's remix takes an already dynamic cut to deep Afro-space with thumping drums and a bubbling synth-bass groove that will put dancers through their paces.
With its powerful combo of urgent brass and ensemble vocals, Max Ransay's 1988 recording of the traditional Martiniquan folk song 'Ti Kanno' fills the B-side. 'Ti Kanno' was previously recorded by Ti Émile, Ransay and Mona's legendary forebear. Full of surprises, Ransay's version is a sonic melting pot of hand percussion, horns, unexpected synth lines, and bass. The Sol Power All-Stars edit fills out the low-end thump and teases out the groove for maximum impact.

A tribute to the late Kenny Hawkes, London's dark lord of house music. Lovingly selected and curated by Luke Solomon, Jonny Rock and Leon Oakey.

Running from 1995 to 2002, 'Space' was a Wednesday night founded by Kenny Hawkes and Luke Solomon. It inhabited the underground world of Bar Rumba right in the heart of London's West End and took place each and every week. Kenny and Luke had both been regular fixtures on infamous London Pirate Radio station 'Girls FM', and were seeking a suitable place to play the kind of music they supported on their respective radio shows. They were presented with a weekly opportunity at Bar Rumba and snapped it up.

'Space' was THE place for 7 solid years, hosting local and international guests from the house music community week in week out, to 200+ hardcore and dedicated followers. Regular guest bookings read like a 'who's who' of the music scene with sets from Derrick Carter, Andrew Weatherall, DJ Harvey, Tom Middleton, A Man Called Adam, Ralph Lawson and Huggy, Harri and Domenic, Francois Kevorkian, Salt City Orchestra, Carl Cox, Chez Damier and Ron Trent.... the list goes on and on and on! Music from seminal record labels such as Classic, Prescription, Cajual, Paper, Relief was played on rotation amongst a killer mix of Disco classics, alternative 80s music, left-field B-sides and techno. The night undeniably became a cauldron of amazing music and midweek hedonistic chaos.

As Soho changed beyond recognition and clubbing moved Eastwards, Kenny and Luke decided to call it a day. Sadly, Kenny Hawkes died in 2011, leaving a huge hole in the dance music community. Kenny was a legendary figure with an unmistakable sound and DJ style, he had a warped sense of humour and a huge personality and he continues to be dearly missed by all to this day.

As a tribute to Kenny, his musical partner in crime Luke Solomon alongside 'Space' regular and DJ / Editor supreme Jonny Rock, and former Classic Records label boss Leon Oakey have joined forces to celebrate his life through music. 3 years of tweaking, pooling music and clearing tracks have culminated in 2 very special double albums and a digital compilation. A collection of 'Space' classics, underground jams and the tracks that shook the Shaftesbury Avenue dance floor, shaping one of London's most revered midweek sessions.

All profits from the compilation will be donated to the British Liver Trust.

Quartier Groove Records releases its first EP “Ritmo del Barrio” that features two club weapons from the Spanish electronic music vaults of the 90s, TYU’s remix of Bravo & Dj’s 1989 one-hit wonder “Difacil Rap”, and Richard Fribert’s rework of the early electronic rumba track “Sueño Almohade” by Sombra y Luz. Both tracks have been licensed and agreed with the original labels and writers, and will be limited to 300 copies. On the a-side, an edgy club revision of a 90s hip-house track that was originally written by a group of DJs compelling us to join them for a wild night out. TYU’s remix, that only makes use of the rad rapapella, makes a perfect match to the daring call and takes us to a 90s rave of today in full style, with its bold drums, slappy snares, trancy synths and road-paving bassline. The flip comes with Richard Fribert’s powerful and fearless hi-NRG rework of the experimental rumba song “Sueño Almohade” by Sombra y Luz, a track that makes a clear flirt with the history of Spain, a country that was once the Muslim ruled area of “Al-Andalus”. Spanish passion meets Arabic mystique in this hard, slamming, acid ride of an update. The result, a DJ weapon to be reckoned with. We finally are ready to present to you the second part of the first release of our Extrasensorial Catalog. We bring you some of the best from the South American electronic scene. For C1, we are thrilled to have a good friend of the house, Pedro d´Alessandro, who steps on board with an introspective experimental dubby approach that perfectly reflects his experience as a producer. On C2, we welcome Bok-p, this uprising Uruguayan duo brings us some pure heat straight from Montevideo, with an outstanding and refreshing track that explores 90´s breaks, techno and house with a touch of that well known Uruguayan flavor. For D1, we have a massive bomb from one of the top producers of the moment, none else than Juaan, the Argentinean producer shared with us a real peak time bomb that will make everyone shout wherever/whenever you drop this, be it in the club, the after, or a good old house party. Finally, for D2, we bring you a deep and hypnotic track by Camilo Gil & One + 1, with lots of minimal influences filled with bouncy percs and dreamy pads, suitable for any time and moment.

After Brexit, we thought it would be a brave attempt to snatch the Queen's interpretational sovereignty over the colour purple. So, we have named our new record just like that. Of course, this is only half the truth, as we named all six other UV050 compilation records after colours as well. The purple one, this one right here, is the second to last, completely with the wonderful artwork by Leipzig's Doppeldenk and four tracks to dance your ass off to. Krakow's Chino shows us how to balance perfectly between straightforward urgency and mystic playfulness. His acidic FORBIDDEN VOICES sports just the right amount of chaos to make you go crazy on the dancefloor. Being a spiritual brother for a long time, it's actually the first time Berliner Johannes Albert releases on Uncanny Valley with his VISION UTOPIA, a subtle House bomb, that pushes just the right buttons to trigger your desire to escape into cosmos. Also from Berlin comes Lake People, who does what he does best with ROAMING THE STREETS: A subtle and razor-sharp track that points out that good dance music can sweeten your life everywhere, not only in the club. Finally, RVDS, one of Hamburg's finest, blesses us with MOON OPERATOR, a deep and masterful dive into sonic sceneries that no one has ever listened to before.
