The new school meets the old school. Riding those crystal-clear waves off the back of their standout EP for Wolf Music, New Zealand duo Manuel Darquart double down with this 10-inch remix package containing a classic reworking from the master of dream house, Don Carlos and a sleazed up street soul workout from themselves.

No introduction is needed when you see Don Carlos’ name in the mix. A legend of the Italian dream house movement that has influenced so much of what we’ve heard since, not least the productions of the Manuel Darquart guys. A dream (house) matchup some might say.

Step one, Carlos sprinkles his magic on ‘Keep It DXy’ switching up the drum programming and adding those Balearic flurries that add a considered dose of dreaminess to whatever he touches, think summery sweeping strings and echoing synth stabs.

On the flip the Manuel D guys go full sleaze, weak at the knees for their ‘Sleazy Sunday Mix’. Imagine a street soul, Balearic lovechild and you’re on the right track. Start suppin’ a margarita and you’re getting closer. Sun-lounger on the sand, Adriatic in front of you, last night’s euphoria still a buzz in the brain and you’ve hit the spot.

Velour’s highly praised debut album on Wolf Music sees four of its standout tracks remixed from Wolf family old and new. Mainstays of the label Frits Wentink and Hulk Hodn join forces with new link ups, Footshooter and 20/10, for this crispy 10 inch. First up to bat, German beatsmith Hulk Hodn fires up the MPC and chops ‘Tom’s Garage’ into a hazy, head nodder before South London’s Footshooter takes ‘Into The Blue’ through a synth heavy whirlwind of broken beat grooves. On the flip, and fresh off the back of his Dekmantel release, Frits Wentink stamps his idiosyncratic expertise on ‘Pose’ for a walking bass bubbler. Closing out proceedings, Velour’s very own Vinzent Wirth, under the moniker 20/10, reworks ‘Luminate’ into a Detroit influenced, jazz tinged, sunset house gem.

If you've picked up the hot-selling previous Masters Series vinyl, you'll already know what to expect. If not, they deliver limited-edition, vinyl-only cuts that brilliantly blur the lines between disco, edits and house featuring some of the scene's brightest stars. This release from Swedish producer DirtyTwo takes the Masterworks series into deeper territory with this brilliant two-tracker. And we really do mean deep! 'Consensual' opens up with Mariana Trench deep basslines, US house synth stabs and a steamy soulful vocal that brilliantly brings everything together. It's brilliantly timeless, soulful and utterly gorgeous. B-Side 'Get Down and Get With It' adds some serious funk to the party, marrying deep house chords with more jackin' percussion. If you're a fan of Derrick Carter or DJ Sneak, head straight for side two as this is an essential release!

Our next release on Shall Not Fade comes from none other than deep house legend, Fred P. Also renowned for his musical offerings as Black Jazz Consortium, the New York-bred, Berlin-based producer is accredited with over 100 releases, all instantly recognisable given their warmth, depth and modesty. 'Out All Night' EP is no exception, containing three instant classics which range from the more playful, skippier side of the house spectrum to a deeper, more contemplative one.

Lis Sarroca brings us the second edition of our 10 inch series: a house cut for all hours, complete with an acidic remix from Swedish don, MLiR. The title track gets Ghost House off to an energetic, skippy start before 'Deux' takes things deeper, adding tribal drums for extra movement, and 'nscds' brings things to an italo-inflected close.

Axel Larsen is one of those prolific bedroom artists who spend their day composing nuggets music with improbable set-up, it can be home made synth, cheap rhythm box, 4 tracks tape recorders, delays or whatever is possible to find to create the weirdest tunes. Axel is from the Simple Music Experience crew, member as Haydée of Radiante Pourpre, Violent Quand On Aime, Simplists, etc.. representing the modern electronic DIY punkish french scene. Originally released in 2004, this is a collaboration with producer Daniel Boyle from Rolling Lion studios who was nominated for a Grammy Award for the album he produced with Lee Perry: `Back on the Controls’.
