Tuff Kong Records presents a truly special and one of a kind project from the multi talented producers/artists Lee Scratch Perry and Mr. Green. Using the same ethos as his popular #LivefromtheStreets series (as seen on VICE/ Noisey as well as Complex and Netflix) Mr. Green's goal was to do something that had never been done before. Although at the surface the record is a standard 18-19 minute EP, digging deeper, listeners will find a sonic roller coaster that seamlessly combines over 20 different genres of music and styles.

"Super Ape vs. 緑: Open Door" includes some truly heavy hitters and cultural icons contributing vocals, including Sheek Louch (The Lox) , Daniel Son, HR (Bad Brains) and Eric"Scratch" Andre (Adult Swim, Disney's Lion King etc.) . Lee "Scratch" Perry is an iconic music producer, singer an inventor noted for his innovative studio techniques and a pioneer of the development of dub music with his early adoption of studio techniques. He has worked with and produced for a variety of fellow iconic artists such as Bob Marley, Beastie Boys and The Clash and was sampled by Kanye West for his production for Jay-Z’s “Lucifer.” He has been named by Paul McCartney as one of his greatest inspirations and included on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 100 most important musicians of all time. At the young-age of 83 years old, he still tours and headlines shows and festivals all over the planet.

Although Lee Scratch Perry began making music over fifty-years before Mr. Green, he maintains that Green is one of his inspirations and even may have helped launch his career, presumably through time travel, portals and Open Doors. It is the five year anniversary of the release of billy woods and Kenny Segal's classic album Hiding Places. As time passes, and more of the duo's work enters the canon, it is easy to forget what an unlikely pairing these two were in 2019. Both woods and Segal were already more than a decade into their careers, but neither had collaborated this deeply with artists outside of their coastal scenes. Kenny's most recent projects were a couple jazzy instrumental albums and production forSelf-Jupiter, Open Mike Eagle, and Milo. For his part; woods was two years removed from his previous solo album with Blockhead. Then Hiding Places happened and changed the trajectories of both artists, and Backwoodz Studioz, with it.The original 2019 vinyl pressing was limited to 500 copies with the house on the cover, alonside a numbered run of 100 special-editions with alternative artwork by M. Musgrove. 2020 saw a new pressing that included the album instrumentals; thisversion had all new artwork and was limited to just 1000 copies. This five-year anniversary reissue is the first one to feature the iconic house cover, and it also has a gatefold with new original artwork from M. Musgrove. Fans have been clamoringfor this for years, and we just wanted to do it right. We think we have done that here. As for the music, we like to think that while the original album description is a little quaint in retrospect, it remains accurate: Hiding Places finds both artists deep in the labyrinth. Segal's lush soundscapes have a new edge, woods' writing is, paradoxically, at its most direct. Hiding Places is a child's game: funny and cruel, as brutal as a fairy tale. The album features contributions from both artists' well of collaborators with ELUCID, Self-Jupiter, and MOTHERMARY making appearances.

When Curren$y, Smoke Dza and Harry Fraud got together at a Times Square recording studio one night in the summer of 2013, they didn't know that they would be recording The Stage EP in one session. However, once they got into the room together, they locked the door and didn't come out until they had laid down four heaters, all over classic Harry Fraud style beats. Long awaited collaboration album by rapper Diabolic and producer Vanderslice. Featuring guest appearances by Nems, Jade Gritty, John Jigg$, DJ Revolution among others. European limited edition vinyl run of 300 copies, 100 on orange/black vinyl and 200 on black vinyl, featuring alternative artwork and bonus instrumental for “Think of That”. Since the early aughts, rapper Diabolic and producer Vanderslice have moved in similar circles, so it was only a matter of time that they would join forces for a collaborative record. With the release of 'Collusion,' that time is now, and it couldn’t have arrived at a more perfect moment. The project eschews every trend and flash-in-the-pan style to create a record that’s a must-listen for anyone who truly appreciates sharp lyricism and neck snapping production. After the immediate sold-out RSD release, we have teamed up with Coalmine Records to make this banger available again as a limited edition of 300 hand-numbered copies, with the first 100 copies are pressed on an orange/black-marbled configuration, with the remaining 200 units pressed on classic black wax. The B-side includes a bonus instrumental for the album single, “Think of That.”
