Unlike all DJ Yoda’s artist albums, ‘Breakfast Of Champions’ features the same collaborators on every track effectively putting together a band. The genesis of the project was in Manchester, where the legendary Band On The Wall venue asked him to host an artistic residency. He put a call out for local musicians, did auditions, and selected three rappers. Two were local to Manchester - Truthos Mufasa and Sparkz. They were local legends making up parts of The Mouse Outfit and Lvlz. And the third was Rex Domino from down south, who was a British MC who Yoda thought would gel well with the other guys. They wrote, rehearsed and recorded intensively in Manchester - performed a memorable series of live shows (including an epic Glastonbury show), and Yoda put the finishing touches to the album back in London after the fact. “It was such an enjoyable experience” says Yoda. “Lifelong friendships were made, and most excitingly two of the band members got together (James Breen, drummer, and Claire Northey, violinist) and had two kids! Esbe is a multi-genre music producer from Los Angeles, California. He is known for his atmospheric instrumental production which incorporates sound elements from extensive use of jazz and soul samples. His latest release, Bloomsday, is a collection of 19 essential instrumentals. "If you were to grab tracks at random from Bloomsday, you might not have guessed that those songs came from the same album. However, when you listen to the album in the way that it was arranged, it will all start to make sense, and you can start to hear how Esbe connects the dots from one song to the next. Esbe draws from a lot of different styles and influences, whether it be soul, hard bop, cool jazz, bossa nova, boom bap, down tempo, jungle, house, or drum and bass, just to name a few. This might sound like he’s unfocused or trying to do too much with his music, but Esbe has a good sense for not overcrowding his individual tracks. Each song might bring in a couple of different elements, but he keeps his arrangements clean, with just the right amount of interesting samples to build from, and the patience to let them unfold at a steady pace, without forcing anything. There are plenty of obscure samples that you won’t place, but he also manages to pick a few key spots to drop some well-known samples, but then re-purposes them in interesting ways in which to give them new life. Bloomsday will take more than one listen to really sink in, but it will eventually sneak up on you and reveal its cleverness in really subtle and interesting ways. Conceived in New Jersey’s then-emerging DIY scene of the late 1990s, cult hip-hop act Dälek pioneered an intriguing fusion of progressive lyrical prowess and sonic experimentation. With unique dark ambient / rhythmic noise elements, the trio was described as a mix of Public Enemy and My Bloody Valentine. Their singular sound was documented on four milestone albums released on Mike Patton’s Ipecac Recordings imprint, alongside live actions supporting the likes of Tool and Melvins and collaborative works with artists such as Faust, before the group ceased regular activities in 2011.

Some emcees have preserved the gift of quality over time and Phantasm is one of these emcees. In the 90's and early 2000 Phantasm and then partner UG were signed to almighty Loud Records as Cella Dwellas (later just The Dwellas) along with several heavyweight acts on the label's roster including Wu-Tang Clan, Big Pun, Xzibit, M.O.P, and Mobb Deep. Fudge is a collaboration between emcee Michael Christmas and producer Prefuse 73. 'Lady Parts' is their debut album.

The record came together during several sessions in the summer and fall of 2015 at Nick Hook’s Green Point studio. Prefuse 73 brought along a hard drive full of beats. Christmas wrote to the instrumentals in the studio, and recorded the vocals the same day, as friends swung by to check it out. Some of the drop-ins at the studio ended up joining in the recording, not least D.R.A.M. who brings lifted soul vocals on “All Points South”.

Wax Tailor finally returns after a long hiatus with his new album “By Any Beats Necessary”. The title references the Malcolm X phrase “By Any Means Necessary”, which was in turn inspired by Sartre’s play “Dirty Hands”. Without going too deep into politics, this reflects the will to use any type of sounds and textures to get to something musical. The word “Beat” also draws a line towards the Beat Generation, Kerouac’s famous “On The Road” novel, and this quest for a better elsewhere. And so, in this time when each of us needs a little escape, I conceptualized this album as a sort of soundtrack to a road trip among the great expanses.
Wax Tailor invited quite a few guests for his new opus. This time he actually convinced great artists to join him like Ghostface Killah, Tricky Charlotte Savary. Lee Fields, Sara Genn, R.A. The Rugged Man, A-F-R-O and Token, Raashan Ahmad and Mattic.
The colored double LP is housed in a gatefold cover.

“Views” is the fourth studio album by Canadian rapper Drake. It was released by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Republic Records. Recording sessions took place between 2014 and 2016, with the production that was primarily handled by his longtime and frequent collaborator 40, alongside with each of these several producers, including Nineteen85, Maneesh Bidaye, Kanye West and Jordan Ullman, among others. The album was supported by the five singles: "Hotline Bling", "One Dance" featuring Wizkid and Kyla, "Pop Style" featuring The Throne, "Controlla" and "Too Good" featuring Rihanna.
