In March 2020, right as the whole world was entering into a transitional phase, Evidence released a single titled "Unlearning". Now, a year later, Evidence launches the campaign for his upcoming album, Unlearning Vol. 1, picking up where the single of the same name left off, and going beyond. Throughout his career, Evidence has always been adept at both staying true to his roots and evolving as he grows and learns from life experiences, including recognizing when the time comes to unlearn. During the campaign for his last album, Weather or Not (2018), he expressed a desire to close the chapter on the weather-related theme that had been a staple of his solo career to that point. Unlearning Vol. 1 not only sees that vision come to life, but shines brilliantly in the process. Unlearning Vol. 1 pairs Evidence's own production with works from The Alchemist, Nottz, Sebb Bash, Animoss, Mr. Green, V Don, Daringer and Eardrum (QThree). This highlights perhaps an undervalued skill of Ev's - his ability to collaborate with a multitude of producers on a project, while still creating an album with a cohesion and consistency rarely found in such extensive collaboration. While the album's musical soundscape sets the scene, it's Ev's gift for relatable yet inventively clever writing that really paints the picture, continually pulling the listener in. That said, a small but powerful cast of guest appearances also decorate the landscape, courtesy of stellar performances from Boldy James, Conway The Machine, Fly Anakin, Navy Blue, and Murkage Dave. Unlearning Vol. 1 embodies the sound and feeling of pure artistic expression, capturing a moment in time where marketability, album sales & streaming potential, and the desire to please anyone other than the artist themselves, are all just an afterthought. As one could expect, such freedoms allowed Evidence to tap into something special that sounds engaging and unique, and also remains true to his foundation. In essence, Unlearning Vol. 1 finds Evidence at yet another creative peak, creating a listening experience poised to catch the attention of new listeners while strengthening his core fanbase.

As a busy international DJ, this was nothing short of armageddon for Vadim. The skies were darkened, but rather than sink into inactivity and hibernation, DJ Vadim created within himself his own tropical music festival, an alternative universe that would share some kind of kinship with the recordings made at Compass Point Studios, orchestrated by Chris Blackwell for Grace Jones (1980-1982), James Brown, Ac/dc, and many others...

It was a melting pot of world-class musicians, blending reggae, pop, soul and African rhythms and sounds... together creating one of the most influential albums of the period, and it was in this spirit that the inspiration and title of DJ Vadim's new album, Feel UP (literally 'Feel good' / 'Have the strength, the courage'), was born.

Forty years after those sessions at Compass Point Studios, the same quest for discovery took place in Vadim's Barcelona studio. The desire for growth, self-discovery and the creation of new sounds took hold. The dubcatcher with its 80s digital sounds went out and came back with a wide variety of musical tapas.

Esbe is a multi-genre music producer from Los Angeles, California. He is known for his atmospheric instrumental production which incorporates sound elements from extensive use of jazz and soul samples. His latest release, Bloomsday, is a collection of 19 essential instrumentals. "If you were to grab tracks at random from Bloomsday, you might not have guessed that those songs came from the same album. However, when you listen to the album in the way that it was arranged, it will all start to make sense, and you can start to hear how Esbe connects the dots from one song to the next. Esbe draws from a lot of different styles and influences, whether it be soul, hard bop, cool jazz, bossa nova, boom bap, down tempo, jungle, house, or drum and bass, just to name a few. This might sound like he’s unfocused or trying to do too much with his music, but Esbe has a good sense for not overcrowding his individual tracks. Each song might bring in a couple of different elements, but he keeps his arrangements clean, with just the right amount of interesting samples to build from, and the patience to let them unfold at a steady pace, without forcing anything. There are plenty of obscure samples that you won’t place, but he also manages to pick a few key spots to drop some well-known samples, but then re-purposes them in interesting ways in which to give them new life. Bloomsday will take more than one listen to really sink in, but it will eventually sneak up on you and reveal its cleverness in really subtle and interesting ways. Formed in Osaka’s American-village, hip-hop supergroup, Infumiaikumiai is comprised of members from Chief Rokka (satussy, Erone, DJ Kan), Headbangerz (hidaddy, ?? (Yugi), DJ Kitada KEN, Mentol), Notable MC (ohya (from daruma-san), Akira (from Evisbeats), and ILL Mint’s very own Mint. Their debut album, Critical 11, gained them a cult following and recognition within the scene. Their second album, Jangal, saw them polishing their skills even more, and saw them gain mainstream success, with many music magazines calling it a landmark album for Japanese hip-hop. This pair of iconic albums is being remastered and reissued on vinyl for the first time ever, exclusively from P-vine Records.

Nowadays many East Coast Boom Bap collectors deep in the game are hunting for little known hardcore hip-hop from the late 90's and early 00's. In an era when hardcore New York rap starting falling off there were other areas like Virginia, along with DC and Baltimore to name a few that spawned a lot of street crews and rappers that kept it hardcore and underground detailing the hustle and everyday struggle to surivive. Most of these releases were extremely limited and only sold locally making them very sought after in this day and age.

This light novel takes place 3000 years after the Edo period from the Land of the Samurai, To the bustling city of Neo-Tokyo. The protagonist of the story codename Anansi, hired by the Neo-Tokyo Police department has been given a mission to retrieve a child, who is marked with a white koi tattoo. This child happens to be held captive by a group called the Shizuka clan, A Yakuza organization that is known to capture orphans, for human trafficking. They tend to only move in silence, during the night hence the reason why the Ntpd are unable to locate them until now. The Ntpd was able to find the child last location, at the Namba club through the club’s security cameras. Anansi has approximately 13 minutes to retrieve the child, failure to do so would mean that the child would be lost in the underworld forever. The countdown, starts, NOW.
