Wandl, the progressive 25-year-old producer, musician and vocalist from Vienna, is back with his second solo album, "Womb". Following the success of his debut release "It's All Good Tho" (2017), an extensive tour with Bilderbuch in Germany, a performance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona (2018) and several artistic projects (2019), "the master of delayed loops" now delivers a self-produced and highly condensed work of about 25 minutes that focuses on the dark chords of the emotional keyboard.

With "Womb", Wandl engages in musical interspaces where potential clarity gradually dissolve into the nebulous blanket of the night. In the midst, Wandl's distinct voice unites with his characteristic soundscapes and the warm euphony of the piano. His songs deal with self-doubt, emotional inhibition, freedom found in loneliness, undesired social acknowledgement, transcendence and the arrival in the womb of an unexpected maternal reconnection. In the end there is even yodeling.

The usual platitudes of the new economy as crude maximization strategies are thus safely ignored: Wandl is a genre unto itself. Something for your mind, body and soul – in the best sense of the word.

In the Summer of 2019 Sum-01 and DJ Hullewud traveled to Truro, Nova Scotia to record a project with DJ Moves. Spending time learning the turbulent history of Africville and the trials of East-Coast early black settlers, the trip to Nova Scotia inspired Sum-01 to write an East-Coast inspired record. After a few short days of writing and recording, the Makin’ Moves EP was birthed. With DJ Moves cantankerous instrumentation and Sum-01’s calculable flows, the pair demonstrated they could make moves expeditiously.

Raised in Bath, based in London, Mo Fingaz has been DJing multi-genre sets since the early noughties at clubs & festivals across the UK and Europe. Primarily a project that delivers crisp crunchy boom bap, with heavy doses of jazz and soul, and nods to various other genres throughout. The rhodes-laden ‘Groove Definition’ sets the tone, leading into an interpolation of a classic; one simply called ‘Reggie’. ‘Timecode’ raises up the Sp1200 bit-crush levels some more, whilst tracks like ‘Astro’ and the album closer ’Netta’ take things a little deeper. This album is unashamedly one to nod your head to, and not one to be sleeping on. ‘Gusto’ is Mo Fingaz first full-length project; a 15 track collection of beats and compositions produced over the past two years. Lo-fi hip hop instrumentals crafted together with love, analog drum machines, samplers, live instruments and dusty old vinyl. Mit Donvtello holen sie sich niemand geringeren als den Lieblingsrapper deiner Lieblingsrapper ans Mic. Mit seiner einzigartigen Stimme, dem Flex, für den andere töten würden, und den Double Times par excellence, komplettiert er die neue heilige Dreifaltigkeit der Straße.

Viele schlaflose Nächte später erblickt die fünf Tracks umfassende EP „Geeked“ das Licht der Welt. Über AlphaMobs Label Alpheus Recs. präsentiert das Trio ihre Interpretation des Südstaaten Sounds, der jeden der Protagonisten auf seine ganz eigene Weise geprägt hat. Von soulful Memphis, über Chicago Drill, bis hin zu Choppa Trap reicht die Bandbreite der Beats, die in frickeliger Kleinstarbeit zwischen Hamburg und Berlin entstehen.

Wann immer es die prall gefüllten Terminkalender hergeben, werden Studiotermine organisiert und Session für Session entwickelt sich der „geeked-up“ Sound. Ob Slow Jam oder Turn Up, Donvtello bewegt sich dabei stilsicher zwischen C-Mob und Twista und haut zwischendurch sogar RnB-lastige Parts raus.

Dabei thematisiert er ungeschönt sein eigenes Leben als everyday Hustler zwischen Hartz4 und der großen Bühne.

Eine Liebeserklärung der besonderen Art macht Donvtello seinen Jungs in der ersten Singleauskopplung „Dopeboys“. Der partytaugliche Track vereint die schleppende Eleganz des Memphis- Sounds und das treibende Vocal-Stakkato ala Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in Perfektion. Und während der Master of Ceremony erklärt, warum er keine Zeit hat,
sondern 24/7 high ist und mit den Dopeboys abhängt, überkommt einen das unbändige Verlangen, den Lautstärkeregler aufzureißen und die Autofenster runter zu kurbeln - so sehr nach lauer Sommernacht gepaart mit einer astreinen take-no-Bullshit-Attitüde schmeckt der Sound.

Ebenso lecker, bzw. „Juicy“ ist die zweite Single. Eine Hommage an die Traumfrau, der Donvtello „hintererläuft wie Goofy, denn ihr body ist so juicy - er ist eine Gefahr“. The title “Experiences“ has been chosen not without reason as it both reflects the personal experiences the artist has gone through in his 25 years plus career but also hint the influences and musical aspects that went into this album.
Flip has tried to give insight into his musical influences that began in the 80ies with groups like Public Enemy or EPMD into the 90ies era with sounds ranging from Native Tongue territory to a DJ Premier or Pete Rock or the DITC producers, when he started making beats on his own for his rap group Texta. You can hear links to other production wizards like J Dilla, Hi-Tec or Madlib that changed the sampling techniques post 2000 with albums like Donuts, Hi-teknology or Madvillain. So yes, „Experiences“ is sample-based but further developed by Flip with original basslines, keys, guitar riffs played by the producer himself.
The final result though is not just a simple look back into the golden era but more a retro-futuristic approach that Flip tried to execute within those sixteen compositions. Additional scratches and vocal chops add more flavor to the tracks and as one song flows with ease into the next one, this makes „Experiences“ an experience for the listener, too. While a lot of HipHop instrumental albums just let some loops run for two minutes, Flip took a more ambitious approach where continued listening to the album will reveal new details and musical ideas every

The REVISIT Soundtrack was initiated by Markus Oberndorfer as part of his media art project REVISITED which features 360 video, media installation, photography, collage, and an artist book. Six befriended musicians were invited to provide three tracks each and given the assignment to send contributions representing their interpretations of the 360 videos recorded of the Sunset Strip in 2016 as part of REVISITED.

REVISIT OST is part of the installations virtual experience in form of radio broadcasts and subject of digital release and three limited physical releases on split 12“ vinyl. The vinyl is available in two versions à 150 copies: 1. Rhythm-Section (sound) and Rhythm- & Sequence-Frame-Section (sound & visual concept).

"Beatnicks Tape": All tracks produced by Hubert Daviz in April/May 2008. The original release "Beatnicks Tape #01" included 13 tracks. These tracks have been released for free download in summer 2008 on the Cologne based record label Up My Alley. The work on this beat tape started as an attempt of getting familiar with one's first own equipment. Original text from the back cover: "lots of vinyl, 1 MPC2500, 1 Microkorg, hands on."

"Damage Is Done": All tracks produced by Flako & Hubert Daviz between December 2007 & June 2008. Unreleased beat tape from the joint collaboration with Flako (going by the name of "Damage Is Done"). The original version was completed by Flako on June 21, 2008 and included 8 tracks. "Woop, Wooop.."
