Japanese beat maker Yuki Kitano’s commitment to music began when he was thirteen, crediting skateboarding culture as his intro to the sound of hip hop. Better known as NICKELMAN, he started making beats with a MPC2000XL and later in 2008 established the independent record label deepconstructionrecords in his home city of Osaka. Along with his close crew of artists, the label released several NICKELMAN, Sugarau and Frogman records to name a few. Working collaboratively with fellow beat maker Frogman, the duo began putting out music under Freemanz Production.

NICKELMAN’s work is inspired by the likes of rare groove, jazz, soul, and beat culture. As a follow up to his 2020 release titled Butterwax, he is set to release Mangoes, a twelve track instrumental LP, in May 202`. Using an MPC2000XL, SP-303, and Tape Echo, the record was produced entirely in NICKLEMAN’s home studio. Each track was recorded on to cassette tapes and then compressed.

Mangoes is full of fine beats and will certainly attract hip hop junkies and vinyl diggers around the world.

Wandl, the progressive 25-year-old producer, musician and vocalist from Vienna, is back with his second solo album, "Womb". Following the success of his debut release "It's All Good Tho" (2017), an extensive tour with Bilderbuch in Germany, a performance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona (2018) and several artistic projects (2019), "the master of delayed loops" now delivers a self-produced and highly condensed work of about 25 minutes that focuses on the dark chords of the emotional keyboard.

With "Womb", Wandl engages in musical interspaces where potential clarity gradually dissolve into the nebulous blanket of the night. In the midst, Wandl's distinct voice unites with his characteristic soundscapes and the warm euphony of the piano. “Drivin’ Far Away” is not a way to avoid reality, but a process of going further to find your own paths, especially in harder times. A trip you don’t necessarily need to take alone. B Dom, Brous One and Greco Murillo found the route together in the search of a unique sound, crossing borders and finding travelers with different perspectives along the way.
With “Drivin’ Far Away” the three Chilean artists put together their first EP, a six-song selection with influences that ranges from Jazz, Funk, and Soul to Hip-Hop with a Lo-Fi aesthetic. It all began with Brous One looking for a team of musicians to create the perfect soundtrack to let you feel and release your emotions. A very intimate project with deep sensations and at times sexy feelings.

To round it all up, every single track was remixed by some of the best European producers at the moment. FloFilz, Psalm Trees, Philanthrope & Leavv, Retrogott, Spaze Windu, and Misha gave their own touch and perspective to make a good project even greater.

Nachdem sie den Banger „Wie Talkst Du?!“ für Opti Mane maßgeschneidert haben, beschließen AlphaMob und MOSA - Producerkollegen und Freunde seit den early days of German Rap - dass es an der Zeit ist für ein größeres Projekt. Mit Donvtello holen sie sich niemand geringeren als den Lieblingsrapper deiner Lieblingsrapper ans Mic. Mit seiner einzigartigen Stimme, dem Flex, für den andere töten würden, und den Double Times par excellence, komplettiert er die neue heilige Dreifaltigkeit der Straße.

Viele schlaflose Nächte später erblickt die fünf Tracks umfassende EP „Geeked“ das Licht der Welt. Über AlphaMobs Label Alpheus Recs. präsentiert das Trio ihre Interpretation des Südstaaten Sounds, der jeden der Protagonisten auf seine ganz eigene Weise geprägt hat. Der partytaugliche Track vereint die schleppende Eleganz des Memphis- Sounds und das treibende Vocal-Stakkato ala Bone Thugs-N-Harmony in Perfektion. As instrumental HipHop albums seem to be at an all-time high, ranging from so called lo-fi aesthetics to progressive sounds with electronic vibe, one of Austrian HipHop’s godfathers and OGs on the boards has finally dropped an instrumental album on his own. The title “Experiences“ has been chosen not without reason as it both reflects the personal experiences the artist has gone through in his 25 years plus career but also hint the influences and musical aspects that went into this album.
Flip has tried to give insight into his musical influences that began in the 80ies with groups like Public Enemy or EPMD into the 90ies era with sounds ranging from Native Tongue territory to a DJ Premier or Pete Rock or the DITC producers, when he started making beats on his own for his rap group Texta. You can hear links to other production wizards like J Dilla, Hi-Tec or Madlib that changed the sampling techniques post 2000 with albums like Donuts, Hi-teknology or Madvillain. So yes, „Experiences“ is sample-based but further developed by Flip with original basslines, keys, guitar riffs played by the producer himself.
The final result though is not just a simple look back into the golden era but more a retro-futuristic approach that Flip tried to execute within those sixteen compositions. Additional scratches and vocal chops add more flavor to the tracks and as one song flows with ease into the next one, this makes „Experiences“ an experience for the listener, too. While a lot of HipHop instrumental albums just let some loops run for two minutes, Flip took a more ambitious approach where continued listening to the album will reveal new details and musical ideas every
time.

The title “Experiences“ has been chosen not without reason as it both reflects the personal experiences the artist has gone through in his 25 years plus career but also hint the influences and musical aspects that went into this album. Flip has tried to give insight into his musical influences that began in the 80ies with groups like Public Enemy or EPMD into the 90ies era with sounds ranging from Native Tongue territory to a DJ Premier or Pete Rock or the DITC producers, when he started making beats on his own for his rap group Texta. You can hear links to other production wizards like J Dilla, Hi-Tec or Madlib that changed the sampling techniques post 2000 with albums like Donuts, Hi-teknology or Madvillain. So yes, „Experiences“ is sample-based but further developed by Flip with original basslines, keys, guitar riffs played by the producer himself. The final result though is not just a simple look back into the golden era but more a retro-futuristic approach that Flip tried to execute within those sixteen compositions. Additional scratches and vocal chops add more flavor to the tracks and as one song flows with ease into the next one, this makes „Experiences“ an experience for the listener, too. While a lot of HipHop instrumental albums just let some loops run for two minutes, Flip took a more ambitious approach where continued listening to the album will reveal new details and musical ideas every time.
Another fact that won t go unnoticed is the heavy punch of the drums which is due to the ́ usage of old samplers like the legendary SP-1200, the ASR-10 or the MPC2000XL that Flip is still using, blending it though with the power of modern soft and hardware. Kong und Diggy Mac Dirt legen mit ihrer Zielgenauigkeit, eine solide 1.0 Ratio, auf der 8-Track starken Scheibe hin. Ihr Fadenkreuz ist dabei vorrangig auf den Spawnpunkt von AfD-lern, allgemeinen gesellschaftlichen Missständen und szeneinternen puristischen Mumpitz gerichtet. Die Kompromisslosigkeit hinter dem Schaffensprozess, spiegelt sich in jedem einzelnen Bit, der auf 300 Stück limitierten Platte aus schwarzem Gold wieder. DJ Cutrock von den Forcki9ers sorgt für die beste Auflösung und Framerate, allerdings sind seine Hände für das bloße Auge nicht zu erkennen, wenn er seine punktgenauen Cuts abliefert. Der Soundtrack ist durchweg geprägt von düsteren und wuchtigen Diggy Mac Dirt Instrumentals. Für einen Gastbeitrag, haben sich die Beiden für den Berliner Producer-Underdog Q-Cut entschieden, welcher den Beat für das "Entlösungsmanifest" gezimmert hat. Im Teamspeak schaltet sich tatkräftige Unterstützung in Form von Finest (Forcki9ers) und ESC aus Rostock hinzu.
