Alongside the reissue, Corker Conboy will release a limited edition 12" /digital single featuring a track from the album, backed with a new remix, sampling multiple tracks from the album, by acclaimed New York-based ambient dub trio Purelink (The 50 Best Albums of 2023 Pitchfork,'Ambient Dub that glows from within 'Philip Sherburne).

While the delivery and dark-to-light balance might echo shades of what Adrian Borland patented decades ago, Corker add their own color (more than just grey, mind you) in a convincing manner across the album. Lead cuts, "Distant Dawn" and "Vital Fall" showcase the range and dexterity that Ohio seems to inherently cultivate, but tracks like "Forever Silent" (featuring Angie Willcutt from Artificial Go and Rod) and the finale, "No Necessities", are like a death trip from the cosmos down to the factory floor. First single, Terror Of The Countryside, opens with a frivolous sounding catchy riff, until the dark drones of Terror drop in on the listener like a roar from a John Carpenter movie. The song moves with a dark, ominous groove that has become CTO’s trademark. Something about this new recording shows a maturity and confidence that has always been present in her previous work… but owns the tape it is pressed to in a new way. Terror is the opening track from Moonish, and like all great set ups, it embodies the tracks to follow.

You get older, you have a family, and you start to slow down-that's how things are supposed to go, right? Not for Montreal band Corridor, who have returned on their fourth album, Mimi, with a sound and style that's more widescreen and expansive than anything that's preceded it. The follow-up to 2019's Junior is a huge step forward for the band, as the members themselves have undergone the type of personal changes that accompany the passage of time; even as these eight songs reflect a newfound and contemplative maturity, however, Corridor are branching out more than ever with richly detailed music, resulting in a record that feels like a fresh break for a band that's already established themselves as forward-thinkers. Mimi immediately recalls the best of the best when it comes to indie rock-Deerhunter's silvery atmospherics immediately come to mind, as well as the spiky effervescence of classic post-punk-but despite these easy comparisons, Corridor remain impossible to pin down from song to song, which makes Mimi all the more thrilling as a listen. "The goal was to work differently, which is the goal we have every time we work on a new album-to build something in a new way," Robert explains. "This time, we took our time." And so in the summer of 2020, Corridor's members-Robert, vocalist/bassist Dominic Berthiaume, drummer Julien Bakvis, and multi-instrumentalist Samuel Gougoux-holed away in a cottage to engage in the sort of creative experimentation that would lead to Mimi's ultimate creation. Corridor tinkered with the songs' raw parts digitally and remotely over the next few years, with co-producer Joojoo Ashworth (Dummy, Automatic) lending their own specific talents in the theoretical booth. The process was a byproduct of not having access to their rehearsal space due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but also a result of the four-piece leaning harder into incorporating electronic textures than on previous records. "For a long time, we identified as a guitar-oriented band, and the goal of making this whole record was trying to get away from that," Berthiaume states. Berthiaume also describes Mimi as a record about "getting older" and "figuring out new parts of life"-but despite any claims of transitional growing pains from the band, Mimi is a record bursting with new energy and life, a vibrance that's owed in no small part to Gougoux joining the band full-time after pitching in on live performances in the past. "I come more from a background of electronic music, so it was nice to involve that with the band more," he explains, and Mimi contains a distinct rhythmic pulse reminiscent of classic era-post-punk's own melding of dance and rock textures. Over bright, chiming guitars and ascending synths, Robert addresses his looming mortality on "Mourir Demain": "I wrote it when my girlfriend and I were shopping for life insurance," he laughs. With our little daughter growing up, we also considered making our will. I said to myself, 'Oh shit, from now on I'm slowly starting to plan my death." Don't mistake this as music about dead ends, though, as Mimi embraces and champions unfettered creativity while paving a way for Corridor's own bright future. "We just focused on making a record that sounded the way we wanted," Gougoux exclaims while discussing the band's aims. "There were no limitations when it came to what was possible."

Franco-American artist Cory Seznec is back with his third album, Deep of Time. Co-produced with Jean-Etienne Loose and Geoffroy Dauptain of Tonehouse Studio, this new creation was forged during a strange and unprecedented period that turned our lives upside down. Overnight, Cory, now a stay-at-home dad looking after his two little boys and with little time to devote to music, had to put everything on standby. Then, with a gradual return to "normal", he once again found time to compose, despite opacity on the professional front. With time on his hands he decided to proceed as he had never done before. Each track was pieced together brick by brick with Loose and Dauptain, first as a demo - which in another era may have become the final product - to facilitate the final recording sessions. A handful of exceptional musicians were then brought on board to add their magic touch: drummer Raphaël Chassain, percussionist Renaud Ollivier, sousaphonist/trumpeter Rafgee, guitarist Daniel Mizrahi, double bassist Thomas Garoche, harmonicist David Chalumeau, pedal steel guitarist Paolo Conti, organist Jean-Max Méry... Deep of Time is a contemplative album that delves into that strange elasticity of experience where everything simultaneously slows down and speeds up, where imaginary worlds replace physical adventures lost in time’s gearwheels, where large questions are raised without any clear answers in sight. Through a unique musical universe that draws on American folk, rock and African guitar, Cory expresses his doubts, frustrations and existential crisis in the face of sudden inertia. After a series of cassettes and one self released CD Così e Così has honed the dense and gritty textures of his deconstructed pop forays and sound experiments into a collection of poetry awash in subdued synths, bending tones, and sometimes frantic rhythms. Its efforts to dissect the constructs of time to overcome fleeting ideals in life and love make 'Impermanence In The Time Of Heavens' at once far-reaching and overwhelming, yet cathartic; a romanticism for an era of fragmented identities.

Music and extended poems throughout IITTOH sample from Vincent’s personal audio and lyrical collections dating back to 2004. Reworking the same loop in nearly every song until it's unrecognizable, and referencing other passages within, creates a work cut and scattered, yet bound by repeated motifs and moods of memory, loss, and rebirth. Recorded primarily in a log cabin in Manitoba, Canada, IITTOH was also recorded on a deserted beach town in Montenegro and a lakeside apartment in Macedonia, and completed in Montreal, Canada.

Cosmic Analog Ensemble is the brainchild of prolific Lebanese music producer and multi-instrumentalist Charif Megarbane, a one-man musical force who writes, performs and produces all of its creative output. With a DIY music ethos, Megarbane has crafted an inimitable style of instrumental music, a melting pot of global sounds that effortlessly glides between 1960s Italian library music, Spaghetti-Western soundtracks, afrobeat, Middle Eastern psychedelia and hip-hop breaks. In little more than a decade, Megarbane has released over 100 albums, offering an experimental musical diary of his late-night improvised sessions, recorded across Beirut, Nairobi, Paris, London and Lisbon – the various cities he’s called home. Released under CAE and multiple other aliases such as Trans-Mara Express, Tapeman No.1, Free Association Syndicate and Monumental Detail, Megarbane’s vast discography is archived on his own independent label and digital platform Hisstology, a window into his expansive yet insular musical universe, in which he plays (almost) every part.

Since 2009, Megarbane has released 31 albums under the Cosmic Analog Ensemble moniker, through which he’s developed his trademark sound of abstract analog library music for the 21 st century, soaked in the golden sunshine of the Mediterranean coast. ‘Expo Botanica’ is CAE’s latest offering, due to be released on vinyl via Hisstology Records on June 24th 2022 with a global physical distribution through Big Wax Records. Expo Botanica completes a trilogy of CAE albums, following the critically-acclaimed LPs ‘Une Vie Cent Detours’ and ‘Les Sourdes Oreilles'. ‘Une Vie Cent Detours’, was dubbed by Pitchfork as 'A major landmark on Megarbane’s musical travels' . The 2017 full-length ‘Les Sourdes Oreilles’, CAE’s first vinyl release, was hailed by Bandcamp as ‘a crate-digger’s dream, a magnum force of infectious grooves and sample-ready melodies that feel rare and familiar at the same time.’

Fronted by an abstract painting by Megarbane, ‘Expo Botanica’ features 16 instrumental tracks, each one the theme for the imagined life of a plant. Capturing the carefree innocence of the playground in its meandering melodies, ‘Expo Botanica’ could easily be the soundtrack to a 1970s children’s film, harking back to an era when they were scored by legendary composers like Piero Umiliani. The album illustrates Megarbane’s mastery of beautifully simplistic melodies with the kind of hypnotic hook that sticks in the mind for days. An album of two parts, Side A sets a tranquil atmosphere with whimsical European-style cinematic soundtracks, while Side B serves up infectious organ grooves, funk-laden breaks and tumbling Oriental psychedelic pop melodies. Behind the spatial pseudonym of the Parisian producer Adrien Erra hides an overflowing energy and a two-faceted music, rhythmic and aerial, and as well influenced by the house of Detroit as by balearic house inspirations of Ibiza. San Luis Potosí's Cotärd have been shovelling the grime in Mexico since their initial inception back in 2018. They've established themselves as major players in the Mexican, DIY Punk Scene booking tours, driving bands and playing a perfected '90s style Swedish/UK, D-Beat/Crust. This new, 4 Track EP finds them laying into their particular blend of the dark and dismal and is their first release since their 2020 Demo and in their most focused and punishing form. The winded exasperations call back to the vocal stylings of classics like Doom and the musical D-Beat/Crust attack reminiscent of juggernauts like Disgust and Napalm Raid are clear and not unfounded comparisons. There's a bleak levity weaving through the relentlessness and it showcases that incessant brooding of the human existence. A not-so-subtle cry for a way out in a world gone mad.

Cotenius X is an exploratory improvisational project of the Ukrainian sound artist Daria Redkina and the
Russian experimental vocalist Varya Pavlova aka Lisokot. Improvising together since 2017 they
incorporate folk, electronic and musique concrète elements into their spontaneous compositions. “Plastic
Bag” is a testament to collaboration - an archival reflection of the time the duo spent experimenting
together. Their theatrical performances involve impersonation or adoption of different characters and are
informed by social, political, historical, and site-specific narratives. The duo has been compared to The
Residents and see themselves carrying the psychedelic absurdity of the US group forward by giving it a
feminine twist.
