Wollongong (Australia) trio 'Miners' create a heady form of driving guitar music and showcase it on their most melodic and varied release yet, sophomore album To a Healthy Future on Earth. From the shoegaze sounds of their first release, the Pala EP in 2015, to the more noisy and punk oriented sounds of their self titled album in 2021, Miners second album roams more expansively than the previous. To a Healthy Future on Earth contains 10 songs weathered and brushed by elements of shoegaze, indie slacker pop, emo, country rock, and found sound. Melodies confidently swing and twist in a hazy blanket of fecund noise, evoking the dynamic of an Unwound or Swervedriver and local artists Sandpit and Love of Diagrams. The electric tension and release of the album is beautifully preserved by Mikey Young's master, and elevated by vocals from MFV's Maggie Fletcher, all aiding to lift this gem into daylight where it can refract and dazzle. This album will be released on October 18th, 2024 as a joint release with Kitty Records in Australia.

«Moor rooM pulsates with exuberance and possesses that fascinating depth of sound and conceptual field that most lack» (Ruta 66) Cancer Moon was a rock music group founded in Bilbao (Basque Country, Spain) in 1988. As a group they did not officially disband, but in 1996 they ceased their public activity. The group produced a sound between noise rock and alternative rock, which in those 90s began to emerge in Spain with groups like Surfin' Bichos, 713avo Amor or The Pantano Boas. They are considered one of the founding groups of noise in Spain.1 Cancer Moon handled among their influences groups like The Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth or Television. They published three albums, each one on a different label due to their problems in finding a record company in which they fit: Hunted by the snake (1990), Flock, colibri, oil (1992) and Moor room (1994). The latter was chosen as the best national album of the year by the music magazine Rockdelux.

Connecting the second album “For Damage,” released in four countries around the world, and the first album “Bongaku” is “Estuary,” the 1.5 album by the improvised music group Yaryu. This is a spiritual sound work woven from improvisations performed by Takuro Okada, Wakana Ikeda (The Ratel), and many other musicians. Silky and serene chamber music-like acoustics spun by flute and alto saxophone, the sad exoticism of pure Japanese music brought about by the sound of the Koto, Hawaiian New Age reminiscent of a deserted beach, and passing through numerous sound fields along the riverbank, the torrent of psychedelics and spirituality continues onward. Jailcell Recipes: Perhaps the last untold chapter in the story of the rapidly-detonating, late 80’s UK Hardcore scene. Often overlooked in favour of their contemporaries, this re-mastered/re-modelled retrospective collection of songs finally puts the record straight, giving them the recognition they deserve. It showcases the band’s importance within that scene and throws light on their unique standpoint and their growth over a 4 year period. This release is not intended as a discography, rather a selected ‘strongest hand’ from between the years 1988 to 1992. It features the definitive line up of Robbie Reid (vocals), Jamie Owen (guitar), Dave Arnold (bass) and Ian Barwick (drums). It's a game of two halves; the faster, straight ahead hardcore stylings make up Side One (practically the entire first album recorded in 1988), whilst the more melodic, mid-tempo material completes the set on the flipside - Robbie's unmistakable vocals being the constant throughout that makes it all work, he provided the band with a unique identity. Side Two closes with previously unreleased studio tracks from 1992 - virtually unheard until now, we believe these final three tracks to be amongst their best. The songs now sound as the band intended all the way back in 1988. Largely down to a relentless run of gigs back in their heyday, Jailcell Recipes gained a strong reputation for being an exciting and energetic ‘live’ hardcore band, playing with Bad Brains, All, Gorilla Biscuits and including tours with Youth Of Today (1989), Green Day (1991), Naked Raygun (1988). It’s the 35th Anniversary of the release of their debut album “Energy In An Empty Tank World” and after all these years, we finally have the recorded output to match the ‘live’ performance!

Hamilton’s, Canada, five-piece returns this fall with their sophomore album, Sounds Like a Place. This twelve-song record has been a long time coming, with the initial recording at Toronto’s Union Sound Company back in the summer of 2022. Sounds Like a Place bears a mix of the industrial, electric hum of Capitol’s hometown of Hamilton and the shoegazey dream-pop that they’ve been leaning into since their debut single, 2017’s “English Girls”. The first full-length release from Cleveland’s Disintegration brings their intricate circuitry of nocturnal synthwave and noise-saturated post-punk to a new plateau. Sharper, leaner, and more involved than the material on their first EP, Shiver in a Weak Light is a huge step forward in terms of production, atmosphere, and overall construction, with singer/synthesist Haley Himiko turning in stellar vocal performances, guitarist/vocalist Noah Anthony and bassist Christopher Brown moving in lockstep, and new drummer David MacCluskie adding clatter and thump to the gridded framework the band architects and then dismantles on every song. The album roves between shadowy dream sequences and slow-motion shatter, drawing a dark and futuristic sound that’s sometimes familiar, sometimes confounding, but always captivating.

Listening closely to the web of sounds on “In Your Diary” reveals a series of unlikely turns and transitions; like the brittle guitar line that arrives out of nowhere to lace up a propulsive chorus, the nearly subliminal hits of percussion that move throughout the stereo field, and a song structure that jumps between its parts in unexpected ways, always landing on a new hook. “Hideaway” connects its fragmented sections in a perfect balance of dissonant chaos and shout-along melodies. Live bass and guitar parts are processed until they sound more like alien synth programming, with choppy rhythms bouncing like sequenced ones and zeroes. Each repeated listen to Shiver in a Weak Light unlocks a new room of sounds and ideas that may have gone unnoticed the time before. It’s an album that beckons the listener to trek ever deeper into its network of neon hallways and interconnected underground tunnels, exploring a world where it’s always night and time moves differently.

Black Mercy and Band of Bastards of Austin, TX, team up to give listeners a glimpse of what lies beneath the local underground hardcore scene. This split recording breathes new life into the tradition of early '80s-early '90s punk, noise, and hardcore music that has always sought to commune with the unsatisfied and disaffected. Black Mercy “The Curse” (Side A) Description: Black Mercy, an Austin-based band formed in 2019, brings a fierce blend of fast-paced, raw hardcore and punk energy on their new LP “The Curse”, recorded at Adrian Quesada’s studio Electric Deluxe. Embodying the spirit of Minor Threat or Circle Jerks, with the chaotic sensibilities of seeing Clikatat Ikatowi or Unwound blowing out an amplifier. More a noisy band with a hardcore framework, their music exemplifies their aggressive sound that is just a bit off-center. Every song has twists and turns on this record, with one stand out track, “Lost” where they bring the tempo down to where Sleep lives. Long traded and coveted, discussed and debated, Propeller Product’s 1981 cassette compilation finally receives a physical release reflecting its original intention and aim. And this is its Boston origin story: a small collective with a DIY artistic bent, Propeller launched in 1981. Founded as a collaborative taking inspiration from Factory Records and the “pay no more” ethos of Dischord Records and Crass, Propeller offers a unique window into Boston and the American post-punk underground. Led by Justin Burrill, Michael Cudahy, and Steve Gregoropoulos, alongside a constellation of curious cohorts, Propeller hoped to move beyond Boston’s bluesy bar rock, to say nothing of its nascent hardcore scenes. The Allston-based Propeller bands explored a more angular and inventive musical space. “Propeller wanted a unified aesthetic,” Cudahy recalls. “I remember having a meeting where we spent over an hour deliberating what typeface to use. I wanted to release a compilation of bands I thought weren’t being done justice.” Existing concurrently with the brawny hardcore acts emerging from the Bay State, Propeller’s influences, execution, and intent offered a 180-degree turn from the alpha male Boston Crew. By contrast, “Punk rock was a refuge,” Cudahy says about his fellow Propeller artists, but just “two years after punk happened and hardcore came along in Boston, it was like, ‘Hey you were the guys who beat me up for being punk and now you’re in a band!’ Propeller was the weird offshoot species.” Propeller’s practice space occupied the very same building as Gallery East, where many Boston hardcore bands played. This was also the location where most of the Prop 4-1 tape was recorded. Boston’s offshoot species had found its voice. Upon release Propeller’s cassette-only compilation hit a monumental snag. Because of a manufacturing error almost all of the Propeller Product cassettes were defective, screeching in rotation and making the music largely inaudible. Even the deluxe edition that came with a 24-page cut-and-paste collage booklet housed in an oversized polybag didn’t sound right. Propeller had the music, the artwork, and the vision, but manufacturing, materials, and logistics all failed Allston, until now. Carefully restored and remastered by Massachusetts's Bob Weston (Chicago Mastering Service), Lawrence Wilmington’s debut release presents the original 18 songs on 180-Gram double LP for the first time and features reworked artwork taken from the deluxe booklet. 450 copies, full-color gatefold includes download.

Cheb Terro vs DJ Die Soon features Cheb Terro's posthumous vocals on Die Soon's beats; a work that was finished one day before Terro's tragic passing. Starting somewhere in the last quarter of 2020, having approached Daisuke Imamura aka DJ Die Soon for a release, and just heard about Cheb Terro's work with his Toxic Club, Drowned By Locals made the hook up that would result in a match made in the Underplanet, as Terro would describe it.

Hailing from the city of Sousse in Tunisia, the site of the worst of several Jihadist attacks in recent years, Cheb Terro's writings and delivery embody the violence stemming from the frustration shared by Tunisia's new generation; and reflect sadness, rebellion and an obsession with death.

Rayen Hermassi, aka Cheb Terro, was a multifaceted artist; writer, rapper, video editor, designer and founder of Toxic Club, the first Tunisian movement to merge horrorcore, hip hop, hardcore punk, Memphis gangster rap, devil shyt, vaporware, tinged with occult elements taken from the country's mystic past.

Daisuke Imamura is a Berlin-based artist born in Japan. His releases include 'Kappa Slap' [Morphine Records], in which Die Soon collaborates with Ecko Bazz, Infinite Livez, MC Yallah, Lord Spikeheart from Duma, and MA; and his latest production for Sekelembele split with Swordman Kitala [Hakuna Kulala].

In commemoration of the too-soon departed Rayen Hermassi, Cheb Terro vs DJ Die Soon is planned to release on March 25th, 2022, the day of Rayen's passing, on digital and vinyl - Mastered by Rashad Becker.

Rayen Hermassi's share of proceeds will go to his family.
