The Audio Fidelity Improvement flat.2 is a cutting-edge multifunctional record flattener and relaxer. It flattens vinyl LPs, Maxis and Singles. Using special flat mats and high-quality control electronics the flat.2 achieves an utterly even distribution of heat and therefore results that have been out of reach until now.

Preset programs provide for very simple handling. The Standard program reliably eliminates most of the warps. In addition to that, there is an Expert program with flexible settings.

The flat.2 works very precisely and has several protective mechanisms to ensure very high product and process safety. Allocation of temperature on the surface as well as at the top and bottom is homogenous. Deviation of the target value represents less than 0,25 K.

Another distinctive feature of the flat.2 is the Relaxation program. The vinyl record is heated (and afterwards cooled) very slowly, evenly and controlled to temper the record. This thermal process of tempering is a traditional physical method and causes a considerable sound improvement in most cases.

A slim construction and first-class manufacturing out of special hard glass emphasize the elegant and timeless design.

The Bio-cellulose diaphragm
The bio-cellulose speaker diaphragm in S05 is made of a bacterial
cellulose which is an organic compound that is grown using certain
types of bacteria. Bio-cellulose is a really interesting material for
many reasons it’s renewable biodegradable and it has great
acoustic properties.
The role it plays when listening to music
If music is played through a poorly designed headphones that
produce a high amount of harmonic distortion it will simply sound
wrong and unnatural. This is because the harmonic distortion
changes how we perceive the timbre and tonality of the sound
which is obviously really problematic when producing music or
mixing a track. The biocellulose diaphragm on the other hand is
able to reproduce the music faithfully with great clarity even at
high volume levels.
S05
For the S05 we paired the biocellulose diaphragm with a high grade
neodymium magnet which resulted in a speaker unit that offers a clear
mid-range better dynamics and a more natural overall tonality. When
tuning the speaker unit we paid special attention to the clarity in the
mid-range without compromising the extension in the bass range. This
results in a very wide sound stage with great instrumental separation. The
music maker is able to extract and enjoy every little detail in the music.

Recorded live in November 2018 on a 5-date tour of England, the album features new and intimate stripped-back arrangements of album tracks as Aidan & Hubby are joined for the first time by violinist and vocalist Jenny Reeve. This release also includes completely reworked versions of Party On and Wolves of the Wood, the latter being a particular highlight for the band: "As we walked on stage, we decided to ask the audience in Oxford to join us for the new version of Wolves and howl as best they could all through the song - they were brilliant and it turned out lovely, and it's probably my favourite track of ours we've ever released," says Aidan. There' s also a cover of Rosalie Allen's post-war anti-fascist song Hitler Lives, while the album ends with Car Song, the first track the duo wrote together back in 2012.

When Aidan Baker let us know he was back in the UK doing his solo material, we obviously had to ask him to join the exclusive club of repeaters and follow up his exemplary 2010 Nadja session with something entirely different. Aidan brought British tour-mates Plurals to the studio with him. Over the two tracks the collaboration has bore some beautiful and exoticfruit. A gradual unfurling of intricate layers of soundbuilds and envelopes the listener over "Dead Foxes In The Street"'s twenty minutes, creating a warm and uplifting aural atmosphere. The second half of the session is an entirely different affair. "Turning Children Into Mice" is a brooding, decidedly sinister beast, weaving a repetitive and increasingly dark threat, until it explodes into a hive of noise, and then slowly and poignantly dies a hero's death. This is truly a collaboration that makes the most of the musicians touring synchrony.

Both artists were inspired by 2020's Black Lives Matter protests, mask-wearing, and stay-at-home orders to produce boom-bap tunes that could only exist in the 21st Century. Insomniac magazine praises the pair's 'next level lyricism.' The Seattle Times picked AJ Suede's brilliant 'Long May We Rain' as one of the best albums of 2020. On the flip side of this cross-generational split LP, you'll find the vinyl-only 'Lost Gems' project from Specswizard. He's a veteran of Seattle's scene, releasing dozens of self-produced albums and EPs since his start in 1988. On his latest, the familiar sound of buzzing amps and tape hiss makes way for major-key soul turned into pensive bangers. Specswizard’s low, late-night-in-the-living-room baritone conjures the feeling of recording in a cramped apartment while the neighbors are sleeping. Still, the beats knock like side doors and his narratives hover like heavy rain and cumulus clouds of weed smoke. Akae Beka's inimitable style, developed over decades performing with St. Croix based band Midnite and countless recordings (including 2014 iTunes reggae album of the year Beauty FOR Ashes and Ride Tru).
