Post-metal auteurs Burst (Sweden) announce return, 2022 remastered vinyl release of their classic 3 albums “Prey On Life” (2003), “Origo” (2005) and “Lazarus Bird” (2008). When Swedish progressive metal quintet Burst disbanded indefinitely after a string of acclaimed albums and an intense live catharsis in Gothenburg, Sweden in December 2009, it marked the end of a 15 year evolution. What started out as young, crusty hardcore band in the 90’s, developed into a unique blend of metal, progressive rock and hardcore, alternating grand atmospheres with abrasive metal and melancholy melodicism. During the following years, the die-hards kept the torch lit while new fans discovered the band’s catalogue, but apart from a one-off appearance at Spain’s Be Prog festival in 2018, the band has remained quietly slumbering. Until 2022. This fall, Pelagic Records will release individual standalone LP releases of the aforementioned albums - the first two for the first time ever on vinyl format. Originally released on CD through Relapse Records, the albums have been remastered and graphically refurbished in 2022, with all new artwork by R obert Samsonovitz. During their tenure, Burst mastered the art of continuous progression, always evolving, always treading uncarefully, never abiding. Burst’s live performances mirrored their albums; a display of meteoric ferociousness and heavy grooves, weaving effortlessly in and out of metallic outrage, stark melodies, and ethereal soundscapes.

As one of the most talented drummers of any generation, Brooks would lead his own group, the Artistic Truth, and create some of the most invigorating music this side of Ornette Coleman. This recording, taken from a late 1973 show in New York City features Reggie Workman (b), Olu Dara (tp), Joe Bonner (p), Cecil Bridgewater (tp), Sonny Fortune (as), John Stubblefield (ts), and the late great Hammiet Bluiett (bs) working together as a cohesive unit, even welcoming the vocal talents of the legendary Eddie Jefferson at one point. Electronic music pioneer Lustmord released an album titled [other] in 2008, to date the only Lustmord album with guitars on it, performed by Adam Jones (tool), King Buzzo (melvins) and Aaron Turner (isis). The albums The Dark Places of the Earth and Beyond, both released in 2009, are extensions of the ideas explored in [other] and are taken from the same recording sessions, but with the guitars removed and the essence of [other] distilled and reduced. [other] was a journey with friends, while The Dark Places of the Earth and Beyond take the concept and listener further, deeper, in-between and beyond. While is some ways [other] is as close to a “rock” album as Lustmord will ever make, The Dark Places of the Earth and Beyond are pure Lustmord, a sound that many others imitate but can never equal.

Most times his music stretches from soul, punk , jazz, rap, and experimental. These days not enough truth, love and clarity are represented so that is aim and foundation. His debut project “ensley” consisted of faith, family, and community and inspires both his art and communication. Fronted by singer and guitarist Jake Burns, the first LP of this 2LP set kicks off with "Roots, Radicals, Rockers & Reggae" from their "Go For It" album, recorded at London’s Paris Theatre in 1981, a venue used for many classic BBC In Concerts. The second LP features an equally raucous show captured at Norwich’s University of East Anglia in the UK in front of a highly appreciative crowd. Recorded a year after the Paris Theatre show, the 1982 set starts with "Tin Soldiers" and ends with "Gotta Getaway."

How Cynthia Schloss’ debut album Ready And Waiting ended up as part of the infamous tax-scam label TSG Records’ catalogue is characteristically mysterious and unknown. Originally released on Merritone Records in 1976, it’s rich reggae sound is a celebration of life and love, and the Jamaican singer’s syncopated grooves stand apart from familiar TSG funk and soul territory - though both find space to breathe inside the mix of this expansive album. Nevertheless, a year later the album found itself with a new sleeve and identity under the distinct TSG colour and logo.
