Die Vorhersage ist eingetroffen Savas hat Battlerap in Deutschland zum Leben erweckt. Doch sein Weg ist noch lange nicht zu Ende.
Mit Essahdamus wird nun die nächste Prophezeiung wahr. Auf 18 Tracks, angereichert durch Skits, Acapellas, Beatskizzen und anderen Überraschungen, liefert Deutschlands Eins abermals ein Mixtape ab, dessen Qualität ein bis dato unerreichtes Level erreicht. Wer die John Bello-Reihe mochte, wird das kommende Werk lieben. Keine Lückenfüller, keine Kompromisse dafür Vollgas in bester Essah-Manier. Kurz gesagt: Kein Zuckerschlecken für den Rest von Hiphop-Deutschland. Emo-Rapper werden ihr Leben nach Essahdamus noch mehr hassen, Hater bekommen Depressionen und Biter neues Futter. Denn damals wie heute gilt: In Sachen Flow, Stimme, Technik ist Kool Savas seiner Zeit voraus. Essahdamus beweist diese Dominanz in beeindruckender Form. Kein Imagekram, kein Pathosgehabe Fans dürfen sich auf reinsten Rap in Perfektion freuen.
Dem Rap-Orakel Savas steht dabei die Crème de la Crème der deutschen Raplandschaft zur Seite. Ob Pioniere wie Azad und Samy Deluxe oder Berliner Legenden wie Sido auf Essahdamus gibt sich ausschließlich die Elite die Ehre. Doch Savas wäre nicht Savas hätte er nicht ein ganz besonderes Dankeschön für seine langjährigen Fans in Petto. Eine kleine Zeitreise in die Vergangenheit steht auf dem Programm und vereint erstmalig wieder die gesamte legendäre Berliner Crew M.O.R. auf einem Song. Essahdamus steht für Geschichte.
Für den passenden Sound sorgen unter anderem DJ Smoove und Abaz. Doch auch Mr. Melodie selbst sitzt wieder hinter den Reglern, um der musikalischen Eingebung den nötigen Feinschliff zu verpassen.

Limited edition of 300 copies of the "Yummy EP" by Das Kate Schellenbach Experiment, the producer duo Torsten Scholz and Tom Körbler from Berlin/Augsburg.

Torsten is the bass player of the Berlin band Beatsteaks. Tom is an independent producer, engineer and musician and also works for Beatsteaks among others. As a collaborative artist project, DKSBE! releases singles at regular intervals, in cooperation with known or unknown musicians.

The "Yummy EP" presented here comes in the classic single format, which is rather unusual for a rap EP. If now it becomes clear that the 5 songs have a maximum length of about 1:30 min, one feels rather reminded of punk or hardcore releases of the 80s or 90s. That was also the purpose of this release from DKSBE!

Logo, that the sound does not come along so hanging. Bang already! Short crisp rap songs with punk attitude, if you needed a description, then probably this one.

Damion Lee is hard to pin down sonically. His sound has been described as everything from “Reggae Rapper” to “German pop”. But what are categories for? The music is what matters. He blends his reggae/rap influences from his previous project „Taktattackers“ – which he created along with Masu in 1999 – to capture his music sensitivity and catchy vocal styling, which makes him a must-listen.

Maura & Fred Red: one of those absolutely romantic producer and MC connections, making you feel the bond far beyond e-mail conversations like „just sent you a new folder of beats“!

Branding the artists simply as „bedroomproducer“ and rapper appears already after the first track on „Grimus“ almost blasphemous, because what those two deliver is way too big to be pigeonholed.

Hard-hitting breaks, subtle grooves led by jazz brushes, funky synthesizer solos, meet one of the most charismatic front women our young German hiphop-scene has to offer. Maura moves playfully in her universe between soulful head voices and heavy rapflows which put everybody considering themself as being able to compete in their place. Punctiliously and lovingly arranged, stylishly orchestrated and, at the same time, uncompromisingly edgy that there is – with all humbleness – nothing left but to speak out the Madlib/Erykah reference out loud.

Ten years ago, we would not have dreamt of such exquisit demos falling into our laps. Fred Red and Maura deliver with “Grimus“ a long overdue souljazz LP being a perfect match for Sichtexot.
