Ein Kollabo auf das viele Fans gewartet haben, denn wenn unter diesem Titel zwei Rapper ein Album veröffentlichen, dann wer, wenn nicht die Straßenraplegenden Massiv und Manuellsen, die schon vor Jahren gemeinsame Tracks releast haben?! Der Kreis schließt sich.

GHETTO umfasst gefährliche und harte Tracks, die dennoch mit Herz sind, authentisch aus dem Block über Loyalität, Bruderschaft, über den täglichen Hustle und allen Widrigkeiten die das Leben dort mit sich bringt.

Manuellsen und Massiv, die das Rapgame immer gelebt haben und sich durch den dort währenden Druck in Diamanten verwandelt haben, bauen sich in GHETTO ein musikalisches Denkmal mit authentischem Sound. Die beiden Rapper sind und bleiben ghettorisiert!

Dank unseren über die Jahre gepflegten Kontakte in der Szene haben wir für Ende Oktober einen echten Hammer für Euch bereit.

Zum ersten Mal ist Rakaa von den legendären Dilated Peoples zusammen auf einem Track mit einem Deutschsprachigen MC zu hören. Wir schreiben im Grunde genommen Rap Geschichte und das wollen wir mit einer Maxi feiern.

Als zusätzlichen Gast dürfen wir Euch Shomori Pass aus Bangkok vorstellen. Er hat schon einige Tracks zusammen mit Rakaa aufgenommen. Diese sind aber nie auf grosser Bühne publiziert worden. Wiederum zeichnet sich Faf als Produzent aus und liefert gleich noch den passenden Remix nach. Auf der B-Seite werden die Instrumentals in Rille gepresst.

Branding the artists simply as „bedroomproducer“ and rapper appears already after the first track on „Grimus“ almost blasphemous, because what those two deliver is way too big to be pigeonholed.

Hard-hitting breaks, subtle grooves led by jazz brushes, funky synthesizer solos, meet one of the most charismatic front women our young German hiphop-scene has to offer. Maura moves playfully in her universe between soulful head voices and heavy rapflows which put everybody considering themself as being able to compete in their place. Punctiliously and lovingly arranged, stylishly orchestrated and, at the same time, uncompromisingly edgy that there is – with all humbleness – nothing left but to speak out the Madlib/Erykah reference out loud.

Ten years ago, we would not have dreamt of such exquisit demos falling into our laps. Fred Red and Maura deliver with “Grimus“ a long overdue souljazz LP being a perfect match for Sichtexot.
