Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration takes players on an interactive journey through 50 years of video games, including a specially curated list of more than 100 playable classics and six entirely new titles from the award-winning team at Digital Eclipse.

For this unique project, Atari teamed up with composer Bob Baffy, who worked on many classic video game soundtracks, to compose rearranged classic themes and new tracks.

As C418, composer and producer Daniel Rosenfeld designs sounds to resonate in both physical and pixelated realms. Best known for his original soundtracks to Minecraft, the single best-selling video game of all time, he's developed a discography of instrumental music over the last decade that traverses electronic pop patterns, neo-classical dreamscapes, and sparse ambient motifs. The latter element has broken from the "8-bit" pigeonholing of game music and earned him accolades that reference artists like Erik Satie (The Guardian) and Brian Eno (vice). In 2015, after quietly self-releasing Minecraft Volume Alpha and Minecraft Volume Beta, Rosenfeld partnered with Ghostly International to reissue Minecraft Volume Alpha on vinyl and CD. The release garnered attention from proper music critics and the gaming community alike, becoming one of the most sought after records in the Ghostly catalog. Now, following several restocks of Alpha to fervent fan response, it is time for the soundtrack's second installment to shine. For the legion of listeners and players to, at long last, have Minecraft Volume Beta in tangible formats. Originally self-released in 2013, Minecraft Volume Beta was C418's longest batch of music to date at nearly 140 minutes. The collection features tracks that were "silently" added to Minecraft during its music updates and a few that never officially entered the game. The run time is now adapted to fit the double LP format, while digital downloads include the full set Rosenfeld's unmistakable abilities are on display; he creates a sweeping variety of musical ideas that mirror the limitless universe of Minecraft. Ghostly International is thrilled to give this unique collaboration its due treatment and hopes to see the creative inspiration which drives Minecraft and Rosenfeld continue to disperse by virtue of this unexpectedly universal music.

The vinyl version contains twelve tracks! "Minecraft - Volume Alpha" is the work of German composer and musician Daniel Rosenfeld. Under his stage name C418, Rosenfeld created the sweeping soundtrack and vibrant sound design that brought the voxel-based universe of "Minecraft" to life. Fans and critics alike were blown away by his beatless, balanced electro pieces across the board. Popular gaming site Kotaku listed the soundtrack among its "Best Game Music" of 2011, calling the music "impressively soothing," while The Guardian compared Rosenfeld's fragile pieces of piano and minimalist ambient to legendary artists Erik Satie and Brian ENO. In an interview, Polygon distilled "Volume Alpha" down to its essence: "The soundtrack is not tied to the retro aesthetic of Minecraft graphics. The soundtrack overrides them. The album is an attempt to translate the combined game/music experience into something heavenly."

In modern-day Los Angeles, a recently widowed police officer's wife, accompanied by her baby, stumbles upon a witch's shop and acquires said figurine. This seemingly innocent act inadvertently unleashes the cackling beast, who vehemently demands possession of her child. A follow-up to the much-loved Contra: Hard Corps (aka Shin Contra), this new instalment in the Contra universe sees the Earth being terrorized by the organization “Blood Falcon,” and only one man - Bill Rizer - can stop them… by blowing the ever-loving hell out of everything in his way!

Released in late 2002 across the U.S. and Japan, with copies reaching European shores in early 2003, this run-and-gun action masterpiece took advantage of its PS2 platform by implementing the use of polygonal graphics to its 2D side view perspective, adding a new depth to the on-screen carnage not yet seen in the series. And if the adrenaline-pumping visual mayhem wasn’t already enough, Konami made the wise decision to turn the soundtrack up to eleven by composing a heavy metal industrial techno score that wouldn’t sound out of place on a Fear Factory remix album. The bulk of the soundtrack was created by Sascha Dikiciyan aka Sonic Mayhem — his first game project among an enviably long credits list. Having caught id Software’s ear with an unofficial Quake album (alongside production partner Dave Valencia), Sonic Mayhem and id Software went on to develop Quake II’s trademark aggro-industrial metal sound, inspired in part by Metallica. The killer riffs, repeated for effect, urge players forward through the Strogg city and beyond, a trail of gibs in their wake. Wes Keltner Bio: Wes Keltner is the CEO and Studio Director at Gun Interactive. He has been a part of the video game industry since 2005 and consulted on video games including Doom, Splinter Cell, Star Wars, Madden, Skyrim, Ghost Recon and several others. With an inclination towards marketing and advertising his work has appeared in Fast Company, Forbes, The NY Times, Wall Street Journal, and Ad Age. During the pandemic he took it upon himself to learn a new musical instrument that could deliver the sound of Texas Chain Saw Massacre. He found this sound within the Apprehension Engine and he spent countless hours discovering and recording horrifying sounds that ultimately became the soundbed of the game.

But it is in animation that she writes her most emblematic compositions. She is at the origin of the music of the famous series Full Metal Alchemist, of 2 parts of Star Wars: Visions (The Elder, The Twins) among others.

Shuji Katayama is a composer and an arranger who is part of the Team-MAX group. He composed all the music for the series (4 seasons). He also participated in the musical compositions of Boruto and the film Naruto The Last. Synopsis of the series : We are in the year 2138. Yggdrasil, the famous hit MMORPG is about to close. Momonga, the founder of the guild whose fame is no longer to be done, waits alone for the end of the game. Composed by Xavier Thiry, the game's original soundtrack is adaptive and progressive, and fits perfectly into the game experience offered. Xavier Thiry is a composer, director and producer working in the worlds of music, TV, advertising and cinema. He has worked on many soundtracks for Pastagames, but also Arte, Darjeeling, DotEmu, Arkedo, and many others. The Arkanoid Eternal Battle soundtrack is his first original creation for Microids.

Released in 1988 for the little-known NEC Pc-8801 gaming console, Last Armageddon is a Final Fantasy-esque post-apocalyptic game set on a world in which demons and mutants fight alien robots for dominion over the wasteland that Earth has become. The game was moderately popular in its native Japan, spawning a sequel in 1994, but never made it to the global market.

The soundtrack composed by the great Koji Hayama (who would later make his name with soundtracks for the Cho Aniki series, as well as his work on Nintendo’s Smash Brothers), is one of the finest examples of video game music from the 80’s. Particular praise should be awarded to the immediately recognizable “Battle Theme”, which has gathered millions of views on YouTube. One listen, and it’s clear why - the song combines invigorating electronic beats with earworm melodies, and with just a touch of nostalgia added in, it’s perfect for almost any situation. That’s not to say that the rest of the album is lacking in any way, with songs that range from spooky ambient (“Nighttime Movement Theme 2”) to full-on industrial dance numbers (“Spaceship Control Room”), spread across 13 tracks. Originally released on CD and cassette, P-vine is proud to be giving Last Armageddon’s soundtrack its long-deserved release on vinyl! With an obi-strip and modern remastering, this is the best this album has ever looked or sounded!

The visionaries at Bethesda, Arkane and Laced are bringing the twisted ’60s soundtrack for award-winning looper-shooter Deathloop to wax. A whole new generation later discovered the game when it was ported over to the Game Boy Advance at the beginning of the 21st century, and then again when it was released on the Wii Virtual Console in 2007. The epic scope of its storyline, characterisations and turn-based combat have become the things of legend amongst the faithful and, as is to be expected, the 16-BIT soundtrack - this time composed by Capcom Sound Team’s Yuko Takehara - is indicative of the adventures that await any and all RPG junkies who dare to enter the Breath Of Fire world.

With a gun full of lead and a fistful of witchcraft, Laced Records has formed a posse with Ice Code Games and Good Shepherd Entertainment to bring you music from turn-based supernatural westerns Hard West and Hard West 2 to good ol’ wax.

All music has been remastered for vinyl and will be pressed onto heavyweight LPs. Disc 1 is transparent light blue and features the full 14-track OST from 2015’s Hard West. Disc 2 is transparent orange and boasts 9 tracks selected from the Hard West 2 soundtrack. LPs come in printed inners, which are housed in a spined sleeve. Sleeve artwork for Hard West is by Grzegorz Przybyś, while Division48 Studio created the sleeve art for Hard West 2.

With Hard West, Marcin Przybyłowicz (Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077) set the mood for the series, employing twanging guitar, pounding drum beats, lonely trumpets and various atmospheric elements. On several of his more anxious cues, snatches of piano, guitar and violin emerge from the echoey fog to keep players on edge, while maintaining the heightened mix of fantasy-horror and Wild West aesthetics.

For Hard West 2, Jason Graves (Dead Space 1&2, Tomb Raider [2013], Dark Pictures Anthology) gets grittier and grungier, while honoring the sound world of the original. Through his spartan use of bass guitar, percussion, and spooky synths, Graves summons a more primal, earthy sound, while still layering in the acoustic and electric guitars we associate with the dark side of the West.

Co-op squadmates Laced and Ubisoft have extracted the spine-tingling electro-acoustic soundtrack to Rainbow Six Extraction and will infuse it into the ultimate form of analogue audio.

The double LP will see ‘react splatter’ discs slip into a deluxe gatefold sleeve adorned with artwork by the team at Ubisoft Montréal. 19 tracks mastered for vinyl by sonic special ops agents will be pressed to heavyweight LPs.

Composer James Duhamel teamed up with the One Take Tigers (the snappy nickname for the audio wizards at Ubisoft Montréal) to create an uneasy and mysterious generative real-time underscore for Extraction. The cue fragments queued up in the game comprise electronic sounds created by rabid synth-collector Duhamel and an array of acoustic instruments recorded by he and the ’Tigers — all synced to the same bpm and key to help the building blocks fit together.

The ‘power trio’ of the score is the octobass, the ondes martenot and the pipe organ, complemented by instruments like the banjo and clarinet, and percussion including angklung and waterphones. Certain live recordings were run through audio processing in real-time to create eerie effects in the moment. And never put it past an audio team to sneak other oddities into a soundscape — with rakes, sword clashes and kitchen utensils serving as percussive sounds on the Extraction OST.

To mix the soundtrack album from musical fragments for an otherwise randomised game score, the team brought an authorial hand to proceedings, creating a structured musical narrative of sorts. The goal was to make an album that’s original, immersive, and helps to communicate the mood of the game.
