This new 7-inch by S-tone Inc., that includes two brand new tracks, confirms Stefano Tirone’s 20-year old collaboration with Brazilian songwriter Toco. “Try My Love” is a fluid, relaxed and dreamy funk song that blends soul jazz with a ‘70s downtempo drumming groove. “Odoya”, featuring Toco on vocals, is a bit more faster composition, that would perfectly fit as a soundtrack of a typical Italian police movie from the same decade! Simply fantastic!

Stefano Tirone is an eclectic artist, open to a wide range of different music genres. This new 7-inch, that includes two brand new tracks, confirms his 20-year old collaboration with Brazilian songwriter Toco. Working on these songs for Stefano was like going back to the years when he used to listen to Acid Jazz music, especially to the records produced by the Mizell brothers. How Much Longer Must I Wait? Singles & Rarities 1965-1972 collects all of Lee Moses’ non-album singles and B-sides, plus three never-released tracks together for the first time ever. Most of the material here pre-dates 1971’s Time and Place, reflecting his initial bid for stardom via a series of now-legendary 45s recorded with Atlanta producer Johnny Brantley. As for the unreleased recordings – much like the man himself, little is known about them. What remains is an oeuvre that has become synonymous with raw and emotionally charged Southern soul. In both cases, one of the surprising features is the hypnotic, incessant groove, capable of drawing the listener into a sound universe full of cosmic percussion and atmospheres, enhanced by Dennis Coffey-style guitars and by a Deodato-like Fender piano. Once again Gerardo hits the mark: the production is masterful, with a clear attention to details and those typical arrangements that reflect the overall quality of the sound with delicate power.

Dune Castle Presents For Private Use Only, two singles from Cantrips, the studio project of Melbourne multi-instrumentalist and composer Patrick Ryan. Featuring members of Surprise Chef, Karate Boogaloo and Cantrips, this release follows a record composed by Ryan under Dune Castle named Dark Age Martial Arts, which received significant airplay and support from Radio DJs around Australia on stations such as PBS, RRR and FBI, as well as support from record stores in the UK such as Mr Bongo and Rarekind records. Dark Age Martial Arts was also nominated for best album in the Australian Music Prize 2022.
For Private Consumption contains two heaving psychedelic funk tracks, The Prayer and The Big Break, both of which take cues from David Axelrod's work with the Electric Prunes. Composed by Ryan, these tracks were brought to life and recorded live in one day in a cramped DIY studio in Collingwood, Melbourne.

Released for the first time together on 45, these two tracks were originally released as separate limited pressings on the now defunct label Truth and Soul Records. Recorded in producer Toby Pazner 's Bedroom on a Tascam 388, t hese tracks paint a vivid picture of the early development of the sound that has become synonymous with The Olympians: heavy drums, lush strings, and layered horns, all woven together by a group of New York's most sought after studio musicians and Pazner's production. "Midnight Movement" is a moody, psychedelic shuffle, reminiscent of an acid trip gone incredibly well! Backwards guitars, vibes, and tremolo strings are there to help you through the journey. You'll have no problem spinning this one till the ride's over. The B side, "Stand Tall," floats along with bass, drums, keyboards and vibes by Pazner while melodic horns by Leon Michels and Michael Leonhart punctuate over wah-wah guitar. The Pretenders were the Carnival label’s main act throughout the 70s and up to 1980. By 1977 producer Joe Evans was embracing the disco era and recorded them on the excellent Kenneth Ruffin song, ‘Just Be Yourself’. Its furious yet solid rhythm and catchy title-line has captivated soul dancers for many years, making the originals expensive and very hard to find now. The flip was their final release, an updated and disco-slanted version of Lee Williams & the Cymbals’ ballad.
