Ant Orange returns to Karaoke Kalk with the album ûYou're Super In Diagonalë. Following up on three EPs between 2015 and 2018 for the Berlin-based label as well as a 12" single with drum'n'bass derivatives last year, the British producer again operates at the crossroads of laid-back house, experimental hip hop and a bass-heavy, abstract minimalism that hints at his background in UK garage and other strains of the hardcore continuum. Working with short vocal snippets, jazz elements and a diverse array of rhythms, his tracks open up small worlds full of endearing details and thrilling dynamics. The only question we should be asking about Ron Basejam and Red Rack’em getting in a studio together is ‘why did it take them so long?’ The Crazy P multi-instrumentalist brings a melodic sheen and strict work ethic to Berman's idiosyncratic, off kilter sample chops. We’re very excited to be bringing the first in a series of killer twelves from two artists who bring a huge amount of passion, soul and singularity to their music.

The infamous Crazy P studio in Nottingham, the scene of many a lost braincell for the pair became a different kind of playground with an arsenal of synths and the Basejam sample library proving fruitful. Several mammoth studio sessions were fitted in pre-lockown with both taking turns to lead when the other flagged. You can hear the grit in these tracks. Studio chiz, red wine and Alfreton Road kebabs fuelled these sessions. Buckle up for the Red Baron ride.

'Fascinate' is a foot stomping house banger hoedown which distils their collective years of sample voyaging into a taut yet jumpy floor wrecker. Uptight, urgent popped guitar licks and a face squinting bassline are mixed upfront with the track devolving at every chance with many a detour including the most warm uplifting middle eighth. A monster arpeggiated synth bass closes proceedings with a dark, knowing edge to the distant hardcore pads fading in.

'She Makes It Work' fuses stoner hippy tabla with a deviant tinged vocal benignly muttering missives while the second pill begins to kick in. Uplifting mangled chords meld with an ever building mood towards a deliriously melting peak moment. As with the A side, the track ends in a questioning manner taking the listener to another plane. This is a cosmic spiritual loft party 7am burner. A late '70s community group going off piste at a Wednesday night drumming circle by serving up the wrong punch.

Originally slated for release in 1993 by Super Doppler Communications. It was primitively programed on 8-track sequencer then recorded on a 4-track tape machine in Hani’s spare bedroom studio in Denver, Colorado. 26 years later, now Hani’s name became internationally known & till this day he continues to produce & remix under many aliases while running his own label Soterios Records. In 2017 Hani started receiving several purchase requests from seekers of this nameless track from Jeep Warehouse Beats Vol:1 on B-side called “Vector Selector”. During the search for the master DAT, Hani found this extended version now available for the first time on Jeep Warehouse Beats Vol:1.5. Included on the B-side is a track never before released from the same year 1993 that was slated for a single release. We are happy to make both tracks available with some help from Synchrophon in France.

Put together during the first lockdown of 2020, this record explores the eerie and the dreamlike - a moment in time when reality felt like fiction; a figurative void in real life. There’s a small stone at my feet - a perfect circle on all sides - so I pick it up and walk over to the canal. He steps out from the bushes and I throw the stone into the air with as much height and backspin as I can. His shiny eyeballs roll up to watch it spinning in the black. It slows, stops, then falls to earth. When the stone hits the water there is no splash, just a short, dull thud. Mohabitat, never ceasing on the producing scene since 2014, has always possessed a strong melodic element as part of their compositions. This was apparent in the self-produced ambient album, "Crisalide". After several years of working as a duo with the visual artist, Hamaranta, Mohabitat has since been working as a solo artist in order to focus more attention on sound, the research thereof and the necessity to create a signature.

Mohabitat continuous his sound research through vintage synthesizers, tape echoes and analogue gear in a new release with 4 tracks composed for clubbing as well as for listening pleasure. These tracks, in fact, reflect a thread of melodic house and techno by label Afterlife for Tale of Us but, simultaneously experiment with compositions influenced by artists such as Jon Hopkins and Rival Consoles, as well as the recognized sound of the contemporary Berlin scene. By the use of these instruments, it also seems like a soundtrack for a Netflix production, such as Stranger Things.

Prima Luce was conceived from the need to take advantage of the opportunity that Lockdown presented. It was during isolation that Mohabitat permitted himself to reflect on his personal situation, his own path and at the same time those closest to him. This album is a journey that can be travelled within the duration of a literal day, from sunrise to sundown or, metaphorically, as the progressive phases of our own lives.

Extremely solid release starting off with two tracks by Al Bradley 'Pale Blue Dot' which carries on the early house style but in a much deeper way. Then we have Chicago house vibes on 'In Flagrante Delicto' with its dreamy pads and subtle acid towards the end of the track. On the flip there's two tracks by Scott Hallam with the latin percussion filled 80's inspired 'Kettle Crusader' followed by the gorgeous, almost Yello Magic Orchestra-esque 'Modern Senses' showing how versatile he is as a producer. It’s time for the label founders to take control over our spaceship. Clusterhead offers four slices of proper abstract techno for those who know. Release starts with Alteración del orden: a broken kick spiced with elastic synth washes and microdrones sets the pace while the rest of the percussive elements appear softly in the arrangement. The main sequence grows and mutates as minutes go by, reverb and stereo treatment goes heavier until repetition makes the desired effect on the virtual dancefloor. Second cut Resiliencia Incesante again relies on broken kicks and processed synth lines. The BPM rate is higher here and the percussive elements are snapper and tighter. Sounds twist and change over time as the frequency range grows. An industrial ode to obscurity. On the flip side, Automutilación creativa brings us again into oblivion, shuffled grooves obsessive sequences continuously moving and high pitched synthetic drums running through the stereo field. That unanticipated oversight that comes bursting through, that unwanted error that rises up with absolute certainty. The minimum common divisor that becomes huge in the mainstream imagination. Inside or outside. With or without. It is or it isn’t. The philosophical garbage heap for the underclass perpetually suffering from symptoms of withdrawal from everywhere and anyway.
Maurizio Marsico, the magnificent mistake of Italian music. An absolute master at running decades of contemporary music through the spin cycle in the pressure cooker of post-modern madness. Inadvertently. Since the end of the seventies, he has been silently leading the way for Italian cultural processes, giddily masturbating them and tossing them to people who are hungry but have no digestive apparatus, aimlessly displaced in the outskirts of nothingness. From Milan to New York. Almost always with no return.
Then there’s Stefano Di Trapani, the absolute presence of the “other cultures” that have traversed the first twenty years of the 2000s. Without Di Trapani (often masquerading under the pseudonym “Demented Burrocacao”), Rome would have failed to dictate forms and methods within the architecture of international sound. He is an absolute manipulator of compliant thought and a declared destroyer of the planetary rules of sound. He is also a member of the cultural underclass in the wretched realm of absolute certainties. Together they created The Greatest Nots, an encyclopaedic crib sheet of what was, is and will be missing from Italian music. A Hahnemann-esque project where forty years of splinters of Italian music have been diluted and dynamised. A homeopathic process carried out by two alchemists who are totally unaware of the processes that led to the creation of the homunculus, settling for just his hearing apparatus and his hypothalamus. Like modern butchers, they offer us the rotten meat of Italian music, blood and fat to feed the proletariat crushed by contemporary simultaneity. Everything is so that everything returns, in distorted yet fascinating and obsessive forms. Things that make the “newness” we’re drowning in look like the sludge extracted from the sewers of a modern psychiatric facility. Nothing will be as it was before because what there was before never existed.
All this is contained within an eye-catching extendable cover illustrated by Enrico Infidel D’Elia and Simone Tso. Inside you can find a record telling you about everything you’ve missed over these years of pointless sound existence. Amen.

Nightmare In Paradise by Tyler Holmes was written in the wake of a violent trauma that Holmes and tour mates experienced on their last night in Puerto Rico at the end of an otherwise blissful tour. Holmes stayed behind with longtime collaborator and friend SAN CHA to care for their injured bandmate, taking shifts sleeping on a hospital floor and staying with friends in downtown San Juan. Upon returning stateside, Holmes experienced intense Ptsd, bouts of agoraphobia, and extreme ongoing stomach pain. The symptoms drove them to composition as a survival tool and means to process extreme dark thoughts, anxieties and emotions. Initially the project began as acoustic guitar demos sounding like Hole’s MTV Unplugged performance remixed by Tricky, the songs eventually morphed into the electro-acoustic aquarium that the album contains now. Despite the album’s violent and chaotic conceptual underpinnings, Nightmare In Paradise is the culmination of many years of toil, struggle, scrapping and re-editing, crying and singing, ultimately rebirthing the most complex and nuanced musical offering yet from Bay Area artist Tyler Holmes. Nightmare In Paradise is Holmes’ most refined and deliberate distillation of concept and composition working in a complicated and refined harmony. Through even more delicate and nuanced vocal presentation across the twelve songs, beds of layered acoustic guitar, minimal electronics, cello and woodwinds, Holmes has refined their hybridization of Electronic / Folk / R&B and Modern Black Classical music to a feverish crescendo on Nightmare In Paradise.

11001 Records is a Berlin-based record label focused on techno, ambient, experimental and other forms of abstract visions. Co-founder of Teufelsberg Domecast, a sound installation podcast series with ambient experimental live performances using the dome at the top of Teufelsberg as a natural parabolic reverb. In ‘Dimensional Perception’, each song revolves around an object in outer space: A1 Ryugu Ryugu is the name of an asteroid. In June 2018, a Japanese spacecraft called ‘Hayabusa2’ landed on it, took some measurements and samples. After a long journey it landed successfully in the desert of Australia early December 2020. The goal is to discover what asteroids carry with them across the universe. If they carry water this could explain how life is spreading in the cosmos. A2 Quasar A Quasar also known as a quasi-stellar object, is an extremely luminous active galactic nucleus, in which a supermassive black hole with mass ranging from millions to billions of times the mass of the Sun is surrounded by a gaseous accretion disk. They are capable of emitting hundreds or even thousands of times the entire energy output of our galaxy, making them some of the most luminous and energetic objects in the entire universe. B1 Sedna Sedna is a large planetoid and possible dwarf planet in the outer reaches of our solar system. Its surface is one of the reddest among Solar System objects. It is a possible dwarf planet. It has an exceptionally long and elongated orbit, taking approximately 11,400 years to complete and a distant point of closest approach to the Sun at 76 AU. Understanding its unusual orbit is likely to yield valuable information regarding the origin and early evolution of the Solar System. Scientists continue speculations on its origins of this trans-Neptunian object. B2 Namaka Namaka is the smaller, inner moon of the dwarf planet Haumea at a distance of 25,600 kilometres. It takes 18 Earth-days for the moon to complete one orbit around the dwarf planet. The use of overlapping meters in ‘Amnion’ creates a similarly buoyant energy.

King Pari is an almost accidental project. Cameron Kinghorn and DJ Stepmom didn’t even set out to start a band. What is the utility of pain? Can it do anything but fester? In Ferneaux explores pain in motion, building audio-spatial chambers of experience and memory. Using an archive of field recordings from a decade of global travels, isolation gave Blanck Mass an opportunity to make connections in a moment when being together is impossible. The record is divided into two long-form journeys that gather the memories of being with now-distant others through the composition of a nostalgic travelogue. The journeys are haunted with the vestiges of voices, places, and sensations. These scenes alternate with the building up and releasing of great aural tension, intensities that emerge from the trauma of a personal grieving process which has perhaps embraced its rage moment. An encounter with a prophetic figure on the streets of San Francisco presented the question of "how to handle the misery on the way to the blessing." This is the quandary of the impasse we now all find ourselves in, trapped in our little caves, grappling with the unease of the self at rest - without movement, without the consumerist agenda of "new experiences." The possibility of growth, always defined by our connections with others, held in limbo. Sartre said that "Hell is other people," but perhaps this is the Inferno of the present: the space of sitting with the self. A blessing is often thought of as a future reward, above and beyond the material plane. With In Ferneaux, Blanck Mass wrangles the immanent materials of the here-and-now to build a sense of transcendence. Here, the uncanny angelic hymn sits comfortably beside the dirge. The misery and blessing are one.

Control Voltage Project is a long running project of Alper Maral and Mert Topel; Alper Maral is one of the most significant sound discoverers around Turkey through auditory and academical researches he has made about experimental electronic music. Mert Topel is a versatile musician, one of the most important keyboardist for many artists in popular music in Turkey. He has released his first solo album “Serendipity” in 2017. Control Voltage Project is named after the electric signals which are used for the interactions between various physical sound layers. Recordings of CVP -first album from the duo- was finished in 2005 and released in 2015 on “Müzik Hayvanı” as free download on web.
