Over on the flip, rising pads and rhythmic shuffle fuse with warped effects as you skip through the sunny climes of 'That's More Like It'. Last but not least, you're met with the RAW punch of 'Breath': a full complement of Millsian influenced psychotropia that leaves you screaming for more, you've been warned.

From House To Disco is a hotly tipped all-female duo known for their fine taste in records, in-depth research into house history and fresh productions. They have been tipped as ones to watch by Brazilian tastemaker Renato Cohen and have released on his Massa Records as well as Get Physical's COCADA Music. Now they tap into the esteemed Definitive Recordings catalogue and add their own spin to four tracks which make up this EP, which will also be included on the 12-track 'Disco House For All' compilation which includes more key selections from the label.

First up, they tackle Blunted Dummies's 'House For All' and flip it into a thumping house cut with old-school synth stabs and a low-slung bassline. Their remix of Las America's 'Look, Listen, Love' brings jacked-up drums with plenty of original Chicago swagger, seductive vocals and a raw analogue bassline. The duo then bring a deep and stylish twist to Wax Fruit's 'Be Yourself', which has rueful pads that encourage you to gaze off into the distance, lost in thought, while the tender piano chords bring extra soul. Last of all is their fresh remix of Barada's 'Gasoline', which is a driving deep house gem with neon chord vamps and another timeless bassline.

Mental health charity label Serenity keeps it sophisticated with its sixth outing and once again donates all proceeds to Young Minds. It is underground house mainstay and DiY Discs legend Nail who steps up first with a much more breezy and balmy sound than you would expect but it sure is lush. 'Pad On' slips into his more usual and driving house sound but with swirling pads up top for summery refinement. Trixie, Connor Male & Thoma Bulwer then get deep and late night with their punchy 'Impromptune' while Trixie's solo cut 'Restless Sculptures' is a jacked-up and percussive number that leans into techno.

From listening to pirate radio recordings, putting on illegal parties and working for one of the UK’s original rave promoters, Greg Hepworth, aka Settle Down, has always had roots in the foundations of UK dance music.

Settle Down’s 30 year journey began when the sounds of Fantazia drifted into his childhood bedroom at the age of 10. After wearing out cassettes of pirate radio recordings and immersing himself in a growing culture, what followed was putting on illegal raves across the South Coast and packing tapes for Dreamscape, before crossing over to Creator and releasing for Metalheadz and Reinforced as 'Ulterior Motive' and reinventing himself as 'Settle Down'.

From fan to facilitator to maker. Voyage is a documentation of Settle Down's 30 year journey through UK breakbeat culture. Presented as a recording of a 90’s rave cassette mix, it chronicles the journey through house, breakbeat, hardcore and jungle and the influences that make up these genres, a love letter to the past and an ode to the vibe.

Voyage will be released on a limited edition mixtape cassette, 12” vinyl and digitally mixed and unmixed single tracks alongside some limited edition merchandise.

With a namesake derived from the mighty Prince’s catalogue, and its lustful connotations, Private Joy is the producer of soul band Lovescene and a supreme vocalist of the Manchester scene. The Half Baked crew put on some of London's freshest minimal house parties and the well-regarded label reflects that sound and then some. This latest bit of fresh dance floor dynamite comes from Nate Su who kicks off with the turbocharged tech house and cosmic turbulence of 'Bird Brain'. 'Geewhiz' is a stripped back and freaky cut with slapping tech funk drums and squelchy acid lines zipping about the mix. 'Rush' is a tight, kinetic cut with a rugged bassline and some steely drum sounds topped with flashy hi-hats while last of all is 'Poets & Judges', something of a psychedelic house bumper.

The always-sophisticated Vick Lavender is a deep house innovator with a soulful and spiritual sound that is never short of genuine musicality. He proves that once more here with a fresh 12" for Mister Bear that opens with the jazzy piano keys of 'Move' soon taking you into a playful world of cosmic synths. 'Change' is another one drenched in astral synth lines over dancing drum patterns and 'Daylight' then melts the heart with its brilliantly soulful vocals and skipping drum beats. This classy EP shuts down with a Latin-flavoured sound on 'Somebodies Samba'.

Nail Tolliday aka Nail is a house music don who rose to prominence back in the 90s with the cult DiY collective out of Nottingham, but also worked as one half of downtempo pair Bent. He disappeared for a while but then return a decade or so ago and since then has been turning out the jams on a regular basis for several different and respected labels. Now he takes matters into his own hands by launching his own imprint In The Dance. Four effective, stylish cuts mark its debut, from the raw, stripped-back sound of 'Grumble' to the more light and airy drums of 'Highly', the punchy kicks and balmy chords of 'No Windows' and on to closer 'Pretty Thing' with its mix of hefty grooves and more whimsical pads.

It's reissue time for one of the most in demand records from the Trelik catalogue, featuring Baby Ford and Thomas Melchior under their Sunpeople alias. The flip side's opening track 'Check Your Buddah' is probably the best known of the four tracks here, with its spacious echoes, mantra-like voices and heads down beats, but there's plenty to be said for the other three. 'Lovers Eyes' is an equally dubby techno affair, but pinned down by sturdy, infectious beats, 'Sungods Wedding' is blessed with churning, warm bass action and just a smidge of cowbell and 'Make It Right' is properly hypnotic 3am gear that's a dream to mix and draws in the listener with its imperceptible builds and three note bleep magic. Following a ten-part series of unannounced artist records and a spectacular high-concept album on Mask Records, label head ZentaSkai returns to the imprint for his next solo vinyl-only release, ‘Bob’.
The A1 sees the Berlin-based ZentaSkai combine a dusty, taped white noise feel with subtle, swirling dub chords as its high-end propels the track forward. It’s a stunning and evocative piece before the A2 continues with minimal drums and electric acid bleeps, a smooth organ lead completing its gorgeous soundscape.
On the B-side of the ‘Bob’ EP, ZentaSkai joins forces with long-time collaborator Sebastian Klenk. It follows their
‘Apeiron’ track on ZentaSkai’s 2023 ‘Architecture Of The Mind’ LP, among other joint work, and sees them deliver a near-twelve-minute track that is a true masterpiece. The track takes listeners through found-sound texture samples, intricate drum patterns, crunchy breakbeats, and more beautiful dub melodics.
‘Bob’ is another fantastic listening experience on Mask Records, already supported by Satoshi Tomiie, Raresh and Laurent Garnier.

Subluminal’ marks the debut of Symeon Yovev (aka V0land) in the experimental electronic music scene. After years of composing soundscapes using field recordings and completing a practice-led doctoral degree (PhD) on this very topic in March 2020, V0land's creative direction, like many others, was transformed by the global lockdown. Confined indoors, he began to experiment with a couple of obscure analogue synthesizers he had collected over time. This experimentation soon evolved into a cohesive body of work, resulting in the compositions that make up ‘Subluminal.’ As the lockdown persisted far beyond expectations, V0land moved on to other projects, and ‘Subluminal’ was temporarily shelved. Now, exactly four years later, this collection is finally set to be released in its original form, available both digitally and on vinyl.

Burroughs continues his evolution on Seventh Sign, with the singular Carl Finlow lending a masterly remix to an overall formidable bunch

The second release from fledging new label Morsecode is a world affair that features new music from Slowmouth and remixes crafted by producers in multiple countries. The lead single 'Anchor' stemmed from a discussion about authenticity in the underground and is a deep, dubby and acid-laced techno cut with raw machine warmth. Subtil founder Nils Weimann flips it into a more percussive number with broken beat loops, while Modebaku layers in deft and wispy pads and hits to make for a light yet carob sting minimal rhythm. Zalapa and Cliff Sequence then combine for a more raw and punchy version with cosmic pads and slapping tech drums. A tasteful outing for sure.

'Daily Rituals' is the debut EP by DJ and Producer IDA. Released on her own Savy Records label, this is an immersive four-tracker that draws together IDA's years of experience playing techno, breaks, electro and 'everything in between'. 'Daily Rituals' offers club-focused compositions with heart, intuitively guiding us through the multitude of moods that colour the party from midnight to well past daybreak. The A side opens with the mood-setting, acid inflected 'Vapauteen', then delivers the characterful, distinctive bassline and addictive grooves of 'Dopamine Hunt'. The B side features 'Currents', including a remix from cosmic sound voyager and fellow Finnish producer Sansibar, with his dubby, drum-driven version of 'Currents' highlighting how these two artists both slickly sidestep genre constraints.
