Ruffy's back with a new four track EP Casita Más Alta and it's a love letter to Ibiza -
as he takes us on an alternative tour of his favourite parts of the pine-covered
island.

The title track opens slowly, spaced out with motifs and pads washing in like an
incoming tide, before charging headlong to the beach with a thumping kick and
distorted keyboard solo. In contrast, we get a more sundown feel with Cala Vedella,
soaking up the forest breeze and sounding like The Art of Noise but fed through a
modulator and left to float in the iciest pitcher of 7Up.

Meanwhile, the rolling congas and percussive synths of Las Cicadas take us deep
into tribal territory, Lost Woods style. The EP closes out with Niu Blau, built on
beautifully optimistic choir pads and steel pan sounds, and the evening could just
go on forever, especially if you've taken any of those power ups. It might be an
homage to Ibiza and the Balearics, but seen through the Ruf Dug prism, there's
always something new to discover.

Based in Amsterdam - Transvorm is an outfit run by Dutch artists El Mundo and Mulder. The aim of the project is simple: to touch on myriad shades of dance music while keeping things firmly rooted in the principles of timeless House & Techno. The first release comes courtesy of Mulder himself and evinces this core principle as the title track 'Burnin' brings together 80s synths, syncopated drums and an earworm vocal. 'Move Away' also works from a class House rubric with its Jazz-tinged chords, dusty drum work and vocal snips. Some vintage strings bleed in to kick off a second phase of the track before an esteemed member of the French House elite - Franck Roger - brings things to a close. Shades of dub and a raw, punchy groove are rendered to a crisp finish as the first chapter in an enlivening new project is brought to a close.

His much sought after first (vinyl only) Answer EP back in 2016, sold out within a couple of weeks ! A1. Acid Babe jumps straight in with a solid padded kick and techy hats before building up into low acid sounds and fluctuates throughout the track with some cool vocal snippets occasionally thrown over the top. Two minutes in, the track falls into a 30 second breakdown and pumps straight back into itâ€™s tech acid groove. Great energy on this one. A.2. Otkuda has a more bouncy feel to it led mainly by the baseline accompanied by some long moody chords carried by crisp swinging hats and offers another entertaining but effective and cool drum roll, arranged perfectly for the dance floor. B1. The title track Deep Moan is an energetic up tempo deep underground rolling number with lots of warmth and swing with a surprisingly oldskool house drum roll a third of the way through the track before slamming straight back into itâ€™s deeper groove. B2. Finally, Gotcha reminds us of Legitâ€™s more deep/tech staple sound. Track A2: Bosun by Hrzntl The last beat drops, the party ends, the taxi awaits. Bosun by Hrzntl is a reflective piece, the transition from pure adrenaline and the buzz of the rave into a lasting memory of a night spent with family and friends dancing at a castle in the hills of Barcelona. The track itself is built around a detuned dubby key which represents the emotions of ending an epic night, it is surrounded by dark and haunting stabs to add to the atmosphere and a bubbling synth which brings an optimistic reality that it's only day one at Sonar.

Track B1: Admiral Frick by Harvo x Patella The first ever demo sent to Microtonal HQ, Admiral Frick by Harvo and Patella is pure energy. Taking elements of tribal percussion and combining it with acidic stabs, it is balanced perfectly with a wandering atmospheric pad. There are subtle shifts between four four and breakbeat, as it builds with syncopated snares and a beautiful unrecognisable monotonous vocal calling you deeper into mysteries of the jungle at night. Calmness descends to create space for a powerful sweeping drone like bass that drops you back into a hypnotic state of being. Your relationship with this track will be like an addiction, constantly seeking a hit.

Track B2: Introspection by Felipe Martinez The epitome of a Microtonal Records track; warm, atmospheric, dark and with a groove. Introspection by Felipe Martinez is a microbreaks track that draws you in with a wide pulsating low end and irregular percussive stabs that float from left to right at the high end. A soft acid synth builds and explodes like a solar flare creating an outer planetary experience. The beautifully crafted breakdown gives you time to pause, observe and contemplate, creating space to process your mental state and explore your emotions from the past, present and future. Jakob Mäder is a DJ and producer based in Stuttgart. Very close to Johannes Albert (Frank Music). He has been multiplying his releases in the last years. His universe is a subtle mix of house, italo and even trance. And its some good house music with some slightly trancy touches which are in the spotlight on the first track of this EP for our beloved label Skylax Records: The fabulous Chord Anthem. ??This excellent opener reminds us the mid 90s finest hours when there were no genre barriers. A title designed to last! To be played without moderation as well as in a house, italo or trance DJ set. The Essence, a solid and smooth title, receives the Shan (from Running Back) treatment. Magic Pitch is eyeing the side of Chicago with always this hovering and acid side.
