For the first vinyl release from Toronto-based experimental techno label Kikimora Tapes, Unfollow presents a three track 12” mastered and cut at Dubplates & Mastering in Berlin. The A-side kicks things off with Unfollow & Mitchell Akiyama’s (Raster Noton) "Blader Hater" a lo-fi peak time banger that divides its impact between pure pummelling ecstasy and implied harmonics before dropping off into broken beats drowned in sheets of white noise. On the flip, MDD (Measure Divide & Dolgener) pull the original goth house vibes of "Numb's The Word" out by the roots and replants them in a corroded industrial brown field. When the nascent melody does manage to break thru the rusty gravel it emerges with two heads in full toxic bloom. Measure Divide is Fahad Ahmad’s main project, Fahad runs the Format party series in Toronto and Martin Dolgener co-runs the label The Cast Project. Strahinja Arbutina is a Croatian artist who has previously debuted on Entro Senestre's Bank Records NYC label and is also behind the Low Income Squad label. His remix turns the original upside down and empties its pockets as hissy guitar loops, lighters, slamming kicks, and spare change spill out on the operating room floor.

Tresor Notional is a new Montreal-based record label dedicated to reissuing long lost gems recorded in Quebec (Canada). Their inaugurational release will be o 180g vinyl-only official reissue of the 1970 cult classic “maple syrup porn” soundtrack “Viens, mon amour’ (Love in a 4 letter World), composed by Paul Baillargeon (Star Trek TV series, Jean- Pierre Ferland's Soleil, Curious Georges) and Dean Morgan.
Between 1968 and 1974, Quebec was exposed to unabashed exploitation cinema. Erotic and taboo, these B-movies took on the name of films de fesses (titty films) or “maple syrup porn”. The genre produced some of the most delectable and collectable soundtracks at the time while “Viens, mon amour” easily stands out as one of the sexiest example ever recorded in La Belle Province! Original pressings are scarce and have been highly sought-after for decades by collectors from around the world. This remastered reissue highlights every sensual, psychedelic and
funky side, where rare grooves mix with delicate pop songs and Moog- infused, fuzz-driven titles with hard-hitting brass. A true gem for cinephiles, DJs and all diggers of exotic sounds... with a distinctive Québécois feel.
This first-ever reissue also includes extensive liner notes, rare artwork and exclusive commentaries from the composers. Pressed at 1000 copies, the album will be released in June 2019.

The Swiss-born, Milanese artist released his first EP Night Frames just last year, making a strong entrance on Tartelet Records. This time around, N.O.T.E explores 80s electro boogie with ‘Phase Alternating Lines’ on the A side, and delivers his very own take on obscure tribal house with “Burning Palm” on the B side.
N.O.T.E is young, thirsty, and dead serious about his music. His admirable work ethic shows off not only in his own releases but also in his collaborations with other artists. In the past year alone, he has produced for Wayne Snow and several others that are keeping their work under wraps – while simultaneously creating music as N.O.T.E and under his Verner moniker. All the hard work seems to be paying off on this new 12’, where he comes through with two outstanding dance-floor bombshells.
If you’re into the 80s, Beverly Hills Cop, or just sad that you missed out on Studio 54, you’re going to love EP opener, “Phase Alternating Lines”. It’s got it all: hot drum programming, an electric boogie bassline and a cheeky melody that sticks. “Burning Palm” takes us into obscure tribal-meets-afro-house territory, utilizing percussion, synth marimba and hypnotic melodies – all held together in a tight, driving groove. This track is exotic at its root and perfect for any late night outdoor activity. Both tracks come as extended edits for the vinyl release.
This is a limited-edition release of 400 copies, written and produced by N.O.T.E, arranged by N.O.T.E in close collaboration with Tartelet Records’ label head Dirk 81 and mixed at Panalama Studios in Copenhagen on the Neve 5088 Shelford console for good measure.

Edinburgh (via Bristol) producer, DJ and balearic psychonaut takes us on a playful exploration through his cosmic arboretum on the Memory of Stolen Bush EP, with four of his own tracks and a very tasty remix from Berlin’s Glenn Astro. Café Lotito draws us into a world of atmospheric chug with dreamy whistles, rich, saturated pads and sneaky acid lines sitting atop a tasteful break and a steady, thudding kick. Gottlieb’s Lament drops the tempo further, into a shimmering, melancholic lagoon of dubby psychedel ia, with marimbas and melodicas dancing amongst the mournful, lysergic synth work. The B side steps straight into the dance with the EP’s namesake In The Shadow Of The Oleander, a pulsing, acidic drum machine workout, bustling with percs and bleeps and cru nchy rhythms, all set to a backdrop of soaring pads and drifting harmonics. Glenn Astro’s remix of Oleander pumps things up into an epic, maximalist realm with huge synth lines and a squarely pounding rhythm section turning the playful roller into a peak ti me thumper. ORO was set up in 2014 as a sub-label of Hemlock for the more 'out there' material and has released music from Brian Routh (R.I.P), Untold, Ivvvo and Lord Skywave. Parris runs the label Can You Feel The Sun with Call Super and has just wrapped up a busy summer with performances at Love International, Houghton and Glastonbury festivals, as well as touring the US and Columbia. In 2023 Untold founded and began running the modular synth brand Laine.

Monikca lives in the beautiful Bavarian town Regensburg, loves Pancakes and isn't that much into clubbing. With her debut ep Münchner Jazz Bar back in 2015, she already set a glittering landmark. Now she's back with a surprisingly fresh 12” vinyl named Floating Herbert. The synthesizer (she calls him Herbert) supplanted the uplifting jazz samples from Münchner Jazz Bar. A slightly more mature mood took place of the lighthearted, uplifting sound we know from her.

Next in line in the Snaretrade series is an EP by one of our favourite people: Gols.

He operates the Hoot label, has released with Ghent label/party Ojoo and has been crafting tracks low key for a long time.

We start out with dessert: In Au bain marie we’re given some elegant yet hard to follow instructions on how to make the perfect chocolate mousse. DJ and Knetterbar operator Yentl kindly lent her voice, not knowing the recording would be used as a final take. In Hundreds and Thousands, Gols weaves thick layers of percussion and synths, forming a dense and deep structure that pulls us in. In the midst of moving his music studio, this track was the last one to be recorded before pulling the plugs and boxing the gear up. On the flipside, Regrooved is a shuffling, sneaky and amusing bit of house that never really admits if it’s just arriving at the party, or just about to leave. After-hour fare for those who like something sweet after dinner.
