We're coming up with something to break boundaries and strengthen the spirit of artistic freedom."The Fall" by the Belgian-born Berlin-based singer, songwriter and producer Cook Strummer - aka Maxime Donnet - is an evocative ode to lost love and forgotten spirituality.

Channeling the post-punk synth sound of his home country's Cold Wave movement of the late '70s and early '80s, Donnet has absorbed the sounds of his adopted home in Germany, taking that all-pervasive electronic music that is all around him and morphing it into something new.

The result is "The Fall".

Recorded in a cell located in the basement of an old Stasi Prison (Studio K61 in Berlin), it's an album with one eye on the dancefloor, but one that works just as well when the party is over. It's an album that blends the organic with the synthetic, mixing guitars and synths with post-dubstep flourishes and drum machines. It's an album about something.

The name of the album has been chosen in reference to first single Fallen, the idea of falling in life and waking up again. It's also about the fact that it's not the fall that kills you. A fall can be graceful. A fall can improve a life perspective and create new paths. It can and does make you strong.

The main metaphor in there is one of reincarnation. Indeed, it's the story of a soul negotiating with God to not reincarnate on earth again, but being forced to do it anyways.

2001, the first year of the 21st century, but especially for many born in the 60's, 70's and 80's, the year that was surrounded with an aura of "the Future" and which became symbol of the new and unknown things that life has in store, the starting year of a new transgression period in both scientific, cultural and spiritual evolution. In that year Transllusion recorded music in the Dimensional Waves Productions studio of which till date two known productions saw a release: "The opening of the Cerebral Gate" and shortly after that the mysterious "L.I.F.E." album on Rephlex. More than 15 years later, an unknown wave resurfaced, washing up an incomparable emotional state of electronic depth. Music from the Future rooted in an underwater Afro-futurist realm and the grandiose cosmological truths. This time rushing over us in a much more personal, reflective and more introspective way, yet leaving behind sonic confusion. We now know who was responsible for all these futuristic recordings perfectly reflecting what the year 2001 stood for, James Stinson can be seen as one of the last few techno musicians from his generation that lived up to the high expectations of moving forward, finding the unknown and embracing the future without reliving the past. This recently discovered DAT-tape, using his Transllusion alias, is the 3rd outing of the project and, surrounded with an even brighter aureole than the previous recordings, confirms the status of its producers mastermind. No further details are known, except for the project name written on the tape, but these intimate moments in the studio tell us what the future sounds like according to James Stinson!

At the beginning of 2015 I approached Victor Greetham at The Agile Rabbit Pizzeria about programming a series of concerts at his spot in Brixton Village, an open air marketplace in the heart of Brixton (London, UK).

The premise being that I would bring a selection of great, strictly one hour long concerts every Thursday night, some of which would be completely improvised free form music. These performances came to be named “Agile Experiments”, paying homage to Victor & his venue for allowing us to expose the market's passing trade audiences to something they may well have never had an opportunity to hear before or ever again for that matter.

We implemented two simple rules for the performances:
1. We wouldn't discuss or plan anything around what we were going to play.
2. We would play for an hour straight with no breaks.

After a year of concerts in the market place, I organised 8 one hour long recording sessions in a studio with 8 different combinations of musicians I had had the honor of performing with over this period and we applied the same rules as we did for the live performances in order to document these happenings.

Two further years down the line, after sitting on these recordings trying to find a way for them to be heard, I am extremely pleased to announce a sequential release of two limited edition vinyls featuring 12 extracts from these raw & unpredictable performances.

I hope that you will truly enjoy these minutes of off-the-cuff cooperative creativity.

The latest sonic adventure by King Coya, danceable alter ego of Gaby Kerpel (De La Guarda, Fuerza Bruta) a pioneer of Latin American folklore fused with electronic music, is called “Tierra de King Coya” (Land of King Coya) where rhythms such as the wayno and instruments from the Andes like the ronroco and tarka, are digitally intertwined with the ritual of dance and celebration. Like a sorcerer from the future, King Coya creates a map of sound exploration navigating the continent through his digital point of view. For this project he incorporates his own voice and also plays a smattering of live instruments.
Since his debut as King Coya with “Cumbias de Villa Donde” (2009) Gaby has produced remixes for artists such as Amadou & Mariam, Brazilian Girls, Julieta Venegas, Luzmila Carpio, Chancha Via Circuito, Tom Tom Club, Petrona Martinez and Magin Díaz amongst others. As well as forming part of the band Terraplén (2010) produced by Santaolalla and the album “Tira Torito” along the coplera Balvina Ramos.
The journey through the “Land of King Coya” begins with “Te Digo Wayno” a powerful track that highlights the joy of dance, and makes a poetic introduction of the Queen Cholas, a dance trio that performs with him during live shows. A true ceremony of celebration that integrates the audience into a singular immersive experience.
The album features diverse guest singers such as: La Yegros - musical companion from his first shows at Zizek Club and for whom he has produced 3 albums. On the first single “Algo” (Something) a sort of kuduro mutates into and Andean dub. For the song “Tierra de King Coya” a combination of Colombian buyerengue and Argentine carnavalito we find La Walichera’s enchanting voice. Balvina Ramos collaborates on “Pa que yo Te Cure” a remix of the song “Linda Flor” (Tira Torito - 2012). Iara Nara - one of the Queen Cholas - jumps in on the track “Pachamá” with airs of a coplera singer over dancehall beats, reinforcing the main objective of bringing folklore to the dancefloor.
“Como Saber” (How to know) and “Dorremi” invoke his foundational album “Carnavalito”, (Nonesuch Records 2001) instilling a particular energy to this album that aims to represent the journey in which Gaby Kerpel ultimately becomes King Coya. The end of this road comes with “Icaro Llama Planta” alongside Isabel Pinedo Rengifo’s mystical voice, a healer from the Shipibo community (Peru), whos shamanic chants invite the listener to reconnect with the earth and give closure to this festive ceremony.

Timur Tokdemir aka Mechatok hails from Munich but now calls Berlin his home. With his 2016 debut 'See Thru' EP on Staycore the young producer exhibited a rare gift of honing a distinct and unique style at quite a young age. The title song was accompanied by a captivating videoclip shot by Benjy Keating on the stairs of Athens' Panathenaic Stadium, able to reflect both the wide scope and the intimacy that defined the compositions. Mechatok also attracted attention thanks to the single 'Still Life' (co-produced by Toxe) which scored the Kenzo FW 2016 prints presentation. The allure of Mechatok's compositions can be partly traced back to the fact that he's a classically trained guitarist; but a distinct expertise can also be recognized in his DJ sets, where he instinctively juggles melodic pieces with club and pop music, conveying feels from vulnerability to bliss. In his mixes for Dazed and Mixmag, Mechatok tells stories of melancholy, always radiating with a moving energy. When Harold Boue aka Abstraxion invited Fantastic Man into his studio after playing together the night before he didn't knew he was planting the seed for a new project. As he recalls, it was "a day of intense sun in Marseille with not enough sleep", but the result was so great that it inspired Harold to work on new tracks around the idea of creating music to reflect his city: a bit rough, but luminous and influenced by elements of Mediterranean, African and Northern European cultures. This has translated into a heavily percussive sound, in which tribal disco grooves invoke the spirits of voodoo-techno. Three cuts driven by warmly distorted rhythms, bursts of primitive drums, rubbery synths and uplifting chants that overall feel like the first sunrays after an excursion through a dark cave: both blinding and blissful. The project's name is a tribute to the astrological sign of Harold's son, who was born at the same time as the music on the EP. It was the definitive signal he needed to convince himself it was the right time to start something new and different. And an event that for sure helps understanding the vibes that this music transmits: as pure, fresh and powerful as only a new beginning can be.

Miss Kittin & The Hacker are the Electro duo of Caroline Hervé and Michel Amato from Grenoble, France. The pair met during the early 90s at a rave and soon after bought turntables and began DJing. In 1996, they started writing music heavily influenced by 1980s synthpop and post-punk bands like Fad Gadget, DAF, Liaisons Dangeuresues, and Yazoo, as well as Italo Disco. Bored by the techno scene at the time, they set out out to lighten the serious tone and bring a campy sexiness to the dour musical landscape. Upon hearing their demos DJ Hell signed them to his Munich-based International DJ Gigolo label and released their first 2 EPs in 1998 and 1999. Their debut album ”First Album" was released in 2001 followed by . in ?.

“Lost Tracks Vol. 2” contains 4 previously unreleased demos recorded between 1997 and 1999. The duo fused 80’s European New Wave/Italo Disco with 90’s Detroit Electro acts like Le Car and Dopplereffekt. By utilizing verse-chorus structures, they playfully shook up the loop based hard techno and electro that was popular at the time. Their studio set up at the time was a Korg MS-20, Roland SH-101, TR-606, TR-808, Siel DK80, and Boss DR-660 drum machine. The songs are direct, spontaneous, seemingly improvised in places. Miss Kittin sings about falling in love in the new millennium, snuff movies and controlling the unknown trip to death, all in her cheekily derisive French accent. All songs have been transferred from the original DAT tapes by the band and remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The vinyl comes housed in a glossy jacket featuring a black and white photo of the duo taken in 1996. Each LP includes a postcard with liner notes from Miss Kittin and The Hacker designed by Eloise Leigh. As Miss Kittin says of these demos, “We were naive, innocent, adventurous and we didn’t expect anything in return”

For its seventh offering, Sol Power Sound taps into the pulse of the French Antilles for Tambours de Martinique, a blistering EP of original and remixed versions of rare, drum-centric dance floor workouts. Licensed directly from the legendary Martiniquan label Hibiscus Records, the EP features cuts by Eugène Mona and Max Ransay, two of Martinique's most storied musicians. With reworks by Spanish DJ and producer Kiko Navarro and the Sol Power All-Stars, this one will be in the record bags of discerning DJs all summer long.
The A side features 'Lizo' by Eugène Mona, an essential figure in the folkloric music of Martinique based on the bamboo flute, bèlè drums, and the island's specific variant of Antillean creole. Lizo was originally released in 1990 on Mona's Blanc Mangé Blan Manjé? LP and is anchored by frenetic percussion, a driving bassline, and house-evocative key stabs. Kiko Navarro's remix takes an already dynamic cut to deep Afro-space with thumping drums and a bubbling synth-bass groove that will put dancers through their paces.
With its powerful combo of urgent brass and ensemble vocals, Max Ransay's 1988 recording of the traditional Martiniquan folk song 'Ti Kanno' fills the B-side. 'Ti Kanno' was previously recorded by Ti Émile, Ransay and Mona's legendary forebear. Full of surprises, Ransay's version is a sonic melting pot of hand percussion, horns, unexpected synth lines, and bass. The Sol Power All-Stars edit fills out the low-end thump and teases out the groove for maximum impact.

This LP samples Alexander Goldscheider’s music produced for records, films, TV and even an art exhibition in the space of 25 years starting from 1975. In its second venture into reissuing hidden gems of electronic music produced in Eastern Europe in the 20th Century, Little Beat Different Issues focuses on the work of a Czech composer, musician and producer, Alexander Goldscheider. Born in Prague in 1950, Goldscheider started as a music correspondent in New York in 1968/69, went onto reading Music at Charles University whilst continuing as a music critic and radio/club DJ, before becoming a record producer at the top Czech label, Supraphon. As a composer, he pioneered the use of synthesizers in his songs for major Czech pop/rock singers as well as in his own instrumental tracks. After moving to London in 1981, he first recorded two albums at the renowned Red Bus Studios, then proceeded to work at the legendary BBC Radiophonic Workshop, before co-founding and establishing Romantic Robot, a software and hardware design and manufacturing company which later moved into music recording and publishing. Of the many original products, The Music Typewriter was ground-breaking software enabling the writing and printing of real notation on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Similarly Terezin: The Music 1941-44 was the first ever release of CDs with music written in the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp during World War II.

Scottish producer, Stephen Lopkin is back on M>O>S DEEP with a great double pack of that gleaming sound we love him for! TIP!
Having released two EPs on the label since 2014, Stephen Lopkin now steps up to MOS Deep with a 2x12" release entitled Clyde Built, recorded in his home town Thornliebank. The Scottish artist has been making prickly house and techno for almost a decade. His style is serene and slick, and across the 10 tracks here he manages to conjure tracks that work in the club but that come with plenty of cerebral qualities.
He never made a secret he takes a lot of influence from early Detroit Techno, even Several track titles pay direct homage to his musical heroes like Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig and also the track New Euro Politique is made in memory of the late UK producer Matt Cogger aka Neuropolitique.
'Welcome to Nowhere' kicks thing off with languid house grooves and jittery percussion, 'Matrix' is awash with swirling pads and astral grooves and 'New Euro Politique' is a blizzard of kicks, panning percussion and arpeggiated synths that glows bright. There are darker, driving cuts like 'Fridays At Pure', trippy offerings like the title track and more thoughtful and pensive jams such as 'Qinosen'. The final three tracks are busy, electrifying pieces that fire every synapse with their sci-fi fx, crisp drums and cinematic atmospheres. The whole album is wrapped up in majestic synth work and every track reveals more layers with each listen. Offering a sublimely complex house and techno sound, these tracks look back to go forwards and do so with a real timelessness.

Drumcode has become a label synonymous with some of the most-cutting edge and forward-thinking techno over the last 20 years. Their artists include both emerging and established names, and one of those well recognised is Enrico Sangiuliano. Now announcing the very first concept album of his career.
Biomorph is born. A very special concept album designed to take the listener on a journey of evolution. A musical adaptation describing how biological and technological advances over numerous generations of time have all started from the same first step in our own biological journey.
Divided into 4 parts, Organisms opens with atmospheric tones, gradually blending complex textures and timbres to begin the evolutional process. The beginning of this section combines full sounding arrangements before stripping it all back to basics. From here it dissolves into the atmosphere. Organisms then progresses into a break-beat influenced, down tempo track using synths to add complexity to the straight, broken rhythms.
Galactic, futuristic elements are found in both tracks in Cosmic Forces. Upbeat, groovy, electronic synths resonate, before 'Hidden T' brings the tension to get things pumped up with stratospheric swirls and twirls to lay down one of the most mind meltingly deep drops.
Metamorphosis is mysterious, its opening beat is a deep and piercing tone that sends the listener into a sensory awareness of their surroundings before breaking into a fully charged, techno track, with Enrico's trademark sounds and textures.
All evolution has an ending.
Two Probabilities shows the positive, starting out evocative and emotional, with a gentle harmony, gazing towards a 'New Dawn'. On the other side of the spectrum lies the negative. This is influenced with a rhythm that articulates the beat of death, mathematical, cold and metallic in texture, it shows the unsustainability of its nature, with a hectic, anxious break beat influenced ending.

Ren Schofield has returned with a new installment in his notorious "LP" series for Spectrum Spools. "LP" has all the earmarks of the classic Container sound with it's uber-mangled, saturated tape garble and headlong tempo macabre. However, this new set of tracks feature an attention to composition unlike much of the Container we've previously heard. While the tracks unfurl across two sides of wax the contours and jagged edges of each sonic sculpture display a new refinement while maintaining the full capacity to vaporize any club floor with Container's traditional recklessness.
Miraculously, this new "LP" manages to incorporate some more traditionally 'musical' elements thus far untouched upon in the projects output while simultaneously delivering it's most damaged and blown out offering yet. British born, Berlin based singer songwriter, Cameron James Laing steps up for an outing on Suara. The original, 'Her', is an emotive and enchanting mixture of soulful vocals, acoustic guitars and swelling strings, beautifully produced and expertly executed.
Roman Poncet then flips the original into a bumping, breaksy, glitched out roller, twisting and manipulating Cameron's vocals to add a further dimension to the mix.
On the B side Prins Thomas brings his trademark Scandanavian touch to 'Her' edging the tempo up and anchoring the song to a dynamic bass, alongside echoing out elements of the guitar and strings to create a version that wouldn't be out of place on the Balaeric Islands.
Closing out the e.p. Peter Pardeike takes you back to the club, placing a rhythmic arp and weighty stabs behind a pounding kick and crisp hats, to provide a big room version of Cameron's original.

We approached Osheyack after the gig for demos and what we received was as dense and inspiring as the live set. Bogdan Drazic's two debut EPs for Giallo Disco, a pair of monumentally aggressive EBM/techo deviations, were good enough to capture the attention of Will Bankhead's TTT stable, propelling the artist onto a new stage, with a new set of listeners. In fairness, Bankhead has picked some pretty 'out-there' material from Drazic, with the opening "Nang Nubia" being a marvellously twisted whirlpool of techno and metallic power-core, followed by the quirky mechanics of "Goa, Goa, Gone". For the flip, Bogdan delivers "Jack Dat Wabbit", a more bass-heavy stomper with a supremely off-kilter groove under its hood, whereas "Trip This Joint" waves its heavy folds of bass over a broken, disJOINTed medley of beats. A Heart From Your Shadow is the debut collaborative LP from Michael Beharie (New York) and Teddy Rankin-Parker (Chicago). Since graduating together from Oberlin College, Beharie and Rankin-Parker each veered into markedly different avenues. Beharie joined up with the ever-confounding New York ensemble Zs (Northern Spy, The Social Registry). Rankin-Parker became an on-demand cellist for his prowess in the work of improvisation and avant-garde music, lending his talents to a wide array of collaborators such as Primus, Iron & Wine, Steve Reich, and Pauline Oliveros. Rather than jump into stream-of-concious improvisation, Beharie and Rankin-Parker chose to focus the album's themes via intricately composed pieces. A Heart From Your Shadow could be described as protest music, brimming with intense energy, harrowing anxiety, and steadfast optimism. Produced by Michael Beharie, mixed carefully by Jim O'Rourke, mastered by James Plotkin and cut to LP at D&M Berlin.
Black virgin vinyl housed in poly-lined inner sleeve in reverse board-printed double-width spine jacket with spot UV finishing.
