As one would imagine, »Second Woman« is a nonpareil debut of futuristic electronic music fusing the coveted genetics of the duos respective previous endeavors into an alluring new enigma of ASMR-inducing kaleidoscopic dub. Second Woman is a fully realized entity; a well-crafted sound world and a refreshing shared effort which is inspiring in its purity and painstaking in its design.

The opening "100407jd7" wastes no time exhibiting mastery in both sound and structure, contorting the frequency spectrum into a psychoactive mirage with its mutating tectonics and vaporous tone clouds. Cuts like "200601je6" and "700358bc5" are bar-raising examples of veteran craftsmanship and vision, refining and reengineering the blue prints of their early works to create an original and dynamic album. The deliberation and control over every particle is obsessive, but the end results of each individual track unfold with an organic temperament unparalleled in a grid-locked world of DAW shaped musics and rat's-nest modular aleatory. Words fail where essential sonics are concerned, and this vital new creation speaks for itself.

Harvey Sutherlands latest 12” marks the inaugural release for Clarity Recordings, an imprint established by Sutherland for modern Australian records.
The first new music from the Melbourne producer since last years cuts for MCDE, the double A-side Priestess / Bravado features his live trio Bermuda at full tilt, with an ensemble of hand clapping friends. Self-described “lounge room disco burners”, the record summons the groove experiments of Patrick Adams, Bill Laswell and Arthur Russell, while retaining Harveys soulful tones and club-ready arrangements.
Priestess evolves slowly, a nine-minute mind dance that ultimately reaches a celestial state. Emotional Rescue looks back again with a 2022 repress, digging deep in to the early 80s Bristol post punk scene of Pig Pag, the Wild Bunch and the Dug Out club. A short lived project of just 3 releases, Mouth trail-blazed leftfield percussive jams in the rich vain of Liquid Liquid and ESG but in their own jazz-infused way. Centered round the cultural melting post of the St Paul's district, it's pubs, clubs and blues parties threw together young and old to the sounds of dub, funk, jazz and soul and took the spark lit by punk rock and new wave and spawned music that still resonates today. Consisting of a floating line up based around main members Andy Guy and Rob Merrill, alumina included a young Nellie Hooper before he would go on to be a founding member of the Wild Bunch and on to produce the likes of Bjork, U2 and Madonna. Based around a hard tribal drumming, mixing guitar, trumpet, shouted vocals and effects, the thrown in the mix nature was inspired as much by avant-jazz than punk's do it yourself attitude. Here then, on one EP are their complete recordings, including as the title cut, their best and deepest, Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea. Featured on a compilation LP from the legendary Y Records, its bottom heavy dub sound is augmented by female and toasted vocals riding a top a heavy stepper style riddim. This is followed by an increasingly dizzy array of percussion jams. Acab Part 2) is all skips and trumpets, while the versions of Take Your Coat Off perfect skat vocal / tom interplay, before the finale busts out the rockabilly influences in full effect with jagged guitar, skipping hats meets double bass punk style.

Label concept Born in April 2014, Midgar is a Berlin based label that aims to bring innovative features into modern techno, and to deliver a new and meaningful sound loaded with positive energy. Leaving the trends behind, Midgar has a wide range of interests spanning from Deep Techno to Ambient and Downtempo. A sound that tells stories as people dance. Artist’s biography Ruhig is the new project of Luigi Cicchella, also known as Audiolouis , Dj/Producer and founder (together with Synthek) of Natch Records, respected techno label based in Berlin. Ruhig (real name Luigi Cicchella) musical background has deep roots in drum and bass, trip hop and ambient, which through the years he naturally extended to techno, but still keeping a really peculiar approach to it. Ruhig debuts on Midgar in 2014 with the deeply atmospheric (mdg002) ‘Lost In The Instability EP’ followed by a remix pack (mdg002x) from the likes of Edit Select, Luigi Tozzi, Wata Igarashi and Synthek. After one year Ruhig comes back on Midgar with a double Ep, which the first installment (MDG005.1) Particles EP is scheduled for mid december 2015.

To say the release of this EP's tracks is long-awaited would be a terribly gross understatement, so it's with much fanfare and general HQ excitement that we announce the sophomore release from the monstrously talented Ross From Friends.

Having been circulating on the net for a fair while now, 'Talk To Me You'll Understand' finally arrives with a fresh mastering, but still thudding along with those scuffed Reebok drums and soaked into fuzzy, stomach-squeezing low-pass filter. All soft chords, soothing vocals, deep-sea bass and skittering hats.

Middle-man 'Gettin' It Done' is a solid label favourite. Less the full vocal flourishes and more the tinkered & chopped MPC underpinned by more dusty drum work that just grows in impact as the track goes on. One for late running and early morning truckin'.

Last but not least comes the R'n'B-inflicted house jam 'Bootman'. Although it takes a good couple of minutes to get going, this is pure 2016 date playlist vibes. Slip the iPhone into the restaurant system and watch the silk melt down from the walls, the tables coat in velvet and ever-lasting passion effervesce from the heaving masses.

Last autumn the long-awaited debut “Colour” by Pete Josef saw its release on Sonar Kollektiv. Now the first 12inch with four fantastic remixes arrives (the digital release comes even with six of them).

The remix by British duo LV for “Hope” is the perfect kick-off and whets one's appetite for more. Their sensuous rework accommodates Josef's voice immaculately and lets the bassline vibrate as gracefully as a treetop in the vernal wind.

Appropriately another duo, this one from Montreal, delivers an ultra smooth remix for “Spring At Last”: The Black 80's fortify herewith their claim to be the next hot shit. Also a name to watch out for over the next few months is the one by Fabian Dikoff. Everything he learned by his mentor Andre Lodemann is translated in his work into an incredible, chameleonic vision of house music. To be heard on his remix for “Colour” and its dub version.

Another remix for “Colour” comes all the way out of the prosperous Vancouver scene by the Potatohead People. The “Lights Off” as well as the “Lights On” remix are both gentle RnB with the emphasis on the snare and on the lovey-dovey synth melody. All in all, exactly the sort of remixes not only Pete Josef was wishing for, but also we as the listeners, to tune into this summer's groove.

Allen Saei, also known as Aubrey, has the experience of a record shop owner mixed to the one of a warned label manager. His music tastes are very varied. With his first love of Hip Hop as a teenager moving quickly onto the emerging Acid House scene from Chicago, then to Detroit Techno and New York House, his music productions testify the perfect knowledge of all three genres. First taste of this record is Pleased to meet you, an original track from the Texture 005 released in 1997. As his fellows, all songs on this wax, except the most recent one but non-the less, Air Strike, were recorded on Digital Audio Tape format and come out of analog machines. A2 - Taken Away is a dance floor killer. Recorded in 1996 this theme follows a straight but efficient techno rhythm that reminds the French Touch at the same period of time in Paris, kind of a darker British â€œKnight Clubâ€ song. The vernal Equinox is the last piece of this EP, recorded in 1998 but never released
