Everything about Stefano Pilia’s spiritual journey always seemed to point directly towards ‘Spiralis Aurea’, his astounding 2022 release for Die Schachtel, a deeply resonating piece of art that intertwines traces of sacred geometry, collective experience and elusive connections between nature and human kind. ‘Spiralis Aurea Trio’ adds an extra layer, an opera of sheer beauty and execution, will, force and composure. The original cycle of compositions live and breath, adapted and transformed, taking their initial meaning and depth to new heights, while maintaining the concepts of ‘divine geometry’ and their sacred mystique intact, displaying a deep resonance with works by La Monte Young, Arvo Pärt, Pauline Oliveros, Eliane Radigue, Krzysztof Penderecki, and Terry Riley.

The new release from Zouen Keikaku, an independent label that has released works by Ooyamada Daisanmyaku and Yaryu, among others, that made a splash at last year's RSD and Record Day Japan. This is the second collection by Tokyo electronic musician, Yo. The sharply polished post-industrial sound tangles the feet that line the dance floor and interrupts their dance steps. The dub-derived heavy bass swings aimlessly, crawling around like a snake with bizarre sound textures that cannot be enclosed in any musical genre. A DL code for "B," a special collection of remixed and unreleased sound sources, is included along with a mini booklet that resembles a sightseeing pamphlet.

So lay down and close your eyes because, on this one, our querida joya @eezzmmeerraallddaa wonders what we all wonder every now and then: good old 'What happens when we die?' We sort of know the drill: the cling, the not wanting to go, the inevitable... the heartbreaking nostalgia of parting ways with this world... and also, the chance to end the pain. Then comes the grief: bye-bye sweetness, chao joy, adiós tenderness... then -¡ayayay! the terror, the slow fade-out, the nothingness. At last, that sparkle in the dark edge of the hiss shows us the way to the ultimate surrender, to then become a garden in the void, and finally return to mamá amor as big beautiful rainbows. During the later stages of 2020, Damien Duque (City of Dawn) and M Cody McPhail (atop) decided to begin writing a collaborative album together. Their styles, although different, compliment each other extremely well and it became apparent that this project would end up flowing out of them with ease. They shared wav files and recording parts individually at each other homes over a few months. City of Dawn's smooth reverbed tonal compositions mixed with ATOP's rougher and meandering synth lines gives the Starwind lp its expansive and cosmic qualities.

Hannah Archimbault is a multidisciplinary French artist based in London. Hannah opens up her inner deep emotions throughout minimal sequences and loops of sustained and touching organ notes, with reminiscences of Philip Glass, Eva-Maria Houben, Harold Budd or Kali Malone and a contemporary vein that questions love in current times. "The EP came after a break up as I decided to compose in the process of going through this love grief and how you could grow from it, learn to love oneself after the break-up. Each song represents a different stage on this life chapter.". Indeed moving anger, sadness and acceptance are well represented on this sonic, brave redemption of the grief through the artform.

Blackbird Belle’s third album Microcosm, continues the evolution of an artistic mind focused on tone and clarity of detail—a feat only possible when you move from surface level experience to something much more immersive: a world within a world. The grooviest of any previous Blackbird Belle releases, Microcosm dives deeper into the spectrum of mood, giving the listener the feeling of reaching a rare altitude.

Lifted by a beautiful and soulful airiness, the opener Jubilee is a sunbeam, optimistic and pure. Champagne Birthday, ushers in more heart-warming sentiment as we begin to explore Blackbird Belle’s sonic world-building. One might find themselves in a blissful trance listening to tracks Kyoto Recall and Illuminance. Moving to the end, a stretch of softer, almost melancholic tracks in the form of Embryonic and Null & Void are contrasted with the uplifting beatstrumental Apollo, a nice closer for the album, bringing things full circle. Microcosm is a portal to small and seemingly insignificant worlds, where untold grander truths have yet to reveal themselves.

Stunning liturgical shoegaze from Kranky’s Melissa Guion aka MJ Guider, originally released a couple of years back on a limited tape and now available once again in a new edition for 2023. Fuelled by pulsing drum machines, bells and an exceptionally expressive voice, it hits so many buttons for us all at once so as to feel like we’ve known it a lifetime, reminding us of sections of Cocteau Twins, Seefeel, Tropic of Cancer, Preisner’s ‘No End’ score, Cranes - but still in possession of its own unquantifiable spirit. Recorded as a music score to ‘Known Mass. No. 3: St. Maurice’, a collaboration with friend and choreographer Ann Glaviano, ‘Temporary Requiem’ makes use of the traditional Latin requiem mass across 6 movements designed to help transport “the congregation” to the dreamworld. The 10 minute opener ‘Kyrie: The Stained Glass Windows in Their Original Order’ opens from choral drones into a sort of rumbling dreampop reminding us of AFX’s reworking of Seefeel’s ‘Time To Find Me’, the melodic lead supplied by a padded bassline wrapped around countless layers of texture and sweeping, filtered hi hats. ‘Gloria: Small Dance of Gratitude’ re-purposes the thudding kickdrum opening Cocteau Twins’ ‘When mama was moth’, but swerves through a vocal keychange into something else entirely, all detached vocal yearning somewhere between love song and lament. Guion’s vocals have always been impressive but feel especially devastating here, leaving enough space for each sound to respire; ducking around slow-motion beatbox cycles and queasy electronics. She binds her biographical litany of inspirations into a coherent blast of pseudo- plainsong and ethereal post-punk, her voice tripping from morose low-registers into layered choral cascades that genuinely made this listener bottle up in a gulp. When we reach ‘Sanctus’ - the album’s shortest piece, a tape-rotted chant dissolves into an angelic aria. It’s an apt preface for ‘Benedictus’, the moment we’re shifted into gnarly droning landscapes of distended drone and saturated distortion. Somehow the tenor adjustment works, deepening Guion’s narrative and drawing parallels between vastly different forms of post-Catholic musical expression - there’s truly no light without darkness. On the finale ‘Agnus-Dei’, she bolts together both strains of expression, singing over walls of harmonic guitar fuzz and a drum machine that sounds like machinery pushing through sandstone blocks. The noise abates before the track dims to a flicker, as Guion’s operatic wails spiral deep into the pious abyss...

Essential expansion pack to the Selected Classics LP, Extended Classics delivers on its name, re-sequencing 19 more liquid minimalist gems from Andrew Dahabrah’s 345-minute 2018 Foans odyssey, Classics. It’s a headspace both troubled and transportive, deftly mapped midnight systems of bass, haze, rhythm, and breath. Crafted in the wake of 2016’s Frontier, these tracks capture Foans’ signature sound at its most streamlined, slinky, and smeared, dance transmissions for cold starlit nights, shaded in doubt and dreams.

A short visit to the Indochinese Peninsula at the wrong time of the global pandemic breakout, led Ian Richter to over a year and a half of living in Vietnam, and to a deep love affair with the Vietnamese folk religion. Ian was intrigued to find a place drenched in culture and mysticism existing hand in hand with hyper capitalism (yet officially committed to socialism). Over the course of the last 18 month Ian recorded, mentally and physically, the sounds of his encounters and experiences. From daily life, through industrial and natural landscapes, to ancient and modern dance, forging foreign with familiar, mysticism with science, and claustrophobia with liberation.

Temir Alcy (producer Enir Da - Dali Muru & The Polyphonic Swarm and multi-instrumentalist Charles Lmx) is at the junction of spherical textures of acoustic clouds and shapeshifting forms of immersive electronic percussive patterns. By intertwining etherionic atmospheres and organic moods to magnetic and hypnotic rhythms, Temir Alcy explores the mysteries of the future and the unknown through a journey of sensory trance, where whispers and melodies of voices strike a vivid contrast between emotions’ fragility and sound’s solidity enhanced by a downtempo, leftfield and erratic kraut’s feel.

The project by Jens-Uwe Beyer and Thomas Venker boasts a remarkable origin story. In 2017, Venker, co-founder and co-editor-in-chief of Cologne’s Kaput magazine, hosted a gathering at Beyer's house, bringing together journalists, creatives, and musicians. To mark the occasion, the pair decided to join forces for an impromptu ambient-electronic performance, presenting themselves as a two-man band. That evening, donned in special costumes designed by artist Sarah Szczesny and fuelled by a generous amount of Japanese whisky, Hasan Poppu was born. Over the course of the pandemic, the duo thought about creating a record based on the live recording of their premiere show. However, the synergy of their collaborative creative energies led them in entirely novel directions. Their self-titled, double-sided album traverses a wild and raucous terrain, moving swiftly from hybrid noise-techno to giddy party ecstasy, to strange and shadowy atmospheres.

Including remixes by YPY, Hibotep, Lena Willikens, Efdemin and Barnt, the 11 tracks span a dizzying array of experimental dance-facing styles. 'Die-Biden' kicks off as a high-vibrational vocal experiment seemingly voiced by a sentient German vocoder. 'Kodō' follows, featuring Venker's playful mantra set against a stomping beat. Willikens' reimagining of 'Teiko' transports the track to obscure realms inhabited by strange creatures emitting ungodly sounds. Meanwhile, Efdemin's take on 'Ekusutashī' pulsates with a kinetic buzz. Flipping over to the B-side, 'Sakura' is a euphoric wall of drone punctuated by eerie whispers and mystical singing. Then, the second installment of 'Kodō' takes a fresh trajectory with a touch of Barnt’s electronic groove stylings. Finally, Hibotep's 'Shojo no yo ni flp' serves as the finsher – an unrepentant trance belter that disintegrates into sampled fragments. Loosely translating to "broken pop music," Hasan Poppu is informed by Beyer and Venker's shared love for Japan. The band takes their cues from the country’s rich sonic cultures while also drawing on Venker's wordsmith background and Beyer's flair for melding melodic tech-house with song-based synth-pop. Originally out on Beachcoma Recordings, Hasan Poppu’s debut album gets a new lease of life on Osàre! Editions with a digital and limited edition cassette tape release. Collins Dictionary Example sentence: „Other ocular signs include involuntary rhythmic movement of the eyeball.“ Someone in the editorial department wasn‘t paying attention and involuntarily spoke a deeply buried truth: The movement from the eye to rhythm and from there to sound is sometimes a small, puny one. Now Infuso Giallo provides the proof at the same time and implements his live show for last year‘s debut album „Ocular Soda“ as an audio-visual show, as intertwined senses. Visible sound, audible images. Such ideas only last when they are put to the test and scrutinised by several experts.

The duo Globus, which consists of 2/5 of the post-hardcore band Pttrns, examines the synth hook of the second part of the double-opener „Every Waking Hour Pt.2“ by playing it, varying it, letting it sway.

In contrast, Anatolian Weapons from Athens can‘t help but immerse the ambient, Soft Machine-production-like first minutes of „Every Waking Hour Pt.1“ in a sinister black light. Staggering into a basement club filled with nocturnal shadow people and indulge in carousing. Cautiously at first, then more and more determinedly.

From Hamburg and Berlin, the „Mole Gaze“ gets a special treatment. The trio Love-Songs drags the number off to Hamburg harbour, packs it onto a steamer, deep into the bow and lets it operate the sonar there. Conrad Schnitzler would have been delighted. Infuso Giallo, meanwhile, realises that there is nothing more boring than standing still, so he revamps „Hello World“ and gives it a rear spoiler that keeps this number in lane even at club speed. Speaking of „keeping in lane“: Niklas Wandt, the magician, doesn‘t even try such tricks. He simply throws an acid bolt on the closer „Ocular Soda“ and waits to see what happens. Alongside breakbeats from nowhere, Albert Hoffmann himself appears on a bicycle. „Ocular Soda Remixes“ is the first tape on the Kame House label, so there‘s only one thing to do: open your eyes and listen!

Crystal Shards is the debut full-album release from Hamilton Canada based blackwinterwells. This twelve-track collection of songs was built over the course of two years, comprising of previously released songs such as darkkmagician and useless, while also introducing a more eclectic musical evolution in the form of tracks such as vivisect and sulfur (featuring guest artists 8485 & emotionals).

These recordings, made in 2001 in the weeks before September 11, constitute a unique historical document. They are spoken-word adaptations of scenes taken from Destroy All Monsters, the first book by acclaimed writer and 'pop culture alchemist' Ken Hollings. A multistranded postmodern epic, Destroy All Monsters offers a radical retelling of Desert Storm, America's military operation targeting Iraq, using imagery derived from MTV videos, CNN news reports, Japanese kaiju movies and anime, Hong Kong action flicks and tales of alien abduction. The book's entire narrative nervously unfolds in an unstable of world of terror monsters, wrecked cities and dangerously tall buildings: where an event like 9/11 is inevitable. The book was officially launched on September 13, but distribution in the United States was delayed when ports on the Eastern Seaboard were closed to shipping post 9/11, leaving copies of the book stranded in the Atlantic. 'Published the very week of the "attacks on America",' Toby Litt wrote at the time, 'Destroy All Monsters is genuinely, spookily prescient…as a progress report on Planet Earth, it seems to have timeslipped onto the front pages.' Lydia Lunch praised it as 'a hallucinogenic spiral into future nightmare', while The Scotsman called it 'mind bending reading.'

In the summer of 2001, Ken Hollings was approached by sound designer and electronic music composer Simon James, who wanted to create an audio adaptation of scenes from the novel to share with subscribers to a spoken word channel launched by totallyradio. The idea was to record Ken reading his own words and then embed them in a soundscape that evoked the fragmented complexity of the original text. Ken concentrated on a small handful of threads from the overall narrative, while Simon directed and engineered the final recording. This resulted in the two sequences of words, sounds and electronic tonalities contained on this audiocassette: an unsettling portrait of people about to be overtaken by events.

In October 2001, having just got married in London, Ken and Rachel Hollings went to New York for their honeymoon, just as they had originally planned. They spent an unforgettable week in a city struggling to recover from the seismic changes that had just taken place while a sudden wave of anthrax attacks on government and media offices filled the news cycles. Rachel took a photograph of Ken at Ground Zero, where crowds of onlookers continued to gather, and the air still smelled of burning.

Ken Hollings is a writer and broadcaster whose main concern is the relationship between culture and technology. He has written and presented numerous critically acclaimed features for BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and Resonance 104.4 FM His other books include Welcome to Mars, The Bright Labyrinth, The Space Oracle and Inferno all available from Strange Attractor/MIT Press. His latest book, Purgatory, is due from Strange Attractor in Spring 2022.

Simon James is a producer, musician and sound designer based in Brighton, UK, whose work combines electronic sources with field recording techniques and sound treatments, using sound to transport the listener to fantastical audio worlds. Simon's latest release, Electro Smog, collects electromagnetic field recordings from Shenzhen's electronic markets, recorded while he was in China at the invitation of Musicity and The British Council.

The Destroy All Monsters audio adaptations marked the first occasion Ken and Simon worked together – subsequently they collaborated on the 12-part series Welcome to Mars for Resonance 104.4 FM and Connecting, an audio portrait of the original 'phone phreaks', for BBC Radio 3. In 2021 they teamed up again to make Fast Forward, a six-part documentary series for Kasperksy Lab.

Bristolian artist, illustrator and toymaker Ed Cheverton debuts as Earth Mother Spectral Pilot with a cosmology-inspired melodic ambient album on Swims. Known for his features in publications like It’s Nice That, Juxtapoz, and The Guardian, Cheverton widens his creative scope to music via a project that borrows its title from a series of comics of his. Influenced by ambient and atmospheric soundtracks, one can hear the connection to Kawai Kenji, Vangelis, and to Japanese environmental music. The album is a musical accompaniment to visual works that spawned from a period of deep obsession with cosmology, and the sense of wonder, scale and discovery evoked by that journey. The pieces on the album grew from snippets of music, loops and improvised explorations that coalesced into a set of tracks that sat together as one ‘project’. True to his craft, Cheverton has enhanced the album with thematic art in the form of series of illustrations within the tape insert and postcards accompanying physical orders.

Evan Lindorff-Ellery is a visual and sound artist based in Kingston, New York, and co-owner of Notice Recordings. "No Water Recordings 2011" was created in Ravenswood, Chicago using a hydrophone against a bridge, above water, and a contact mike and ceramic insulator against a brick. The recordings were captured to cassette which was transferred 10 years later by Branic Howard. This album exists as an antithesis of much of Evan's recent fascinations with water, yet accommodates similar poetic endeavours.

LBD Sounds present the new album from World Wild Web. Based in Berlin, this one man band machine from France offers up a beautiful collection of balearic jams, soaked up with instrumental psychedelic keyboards, influenced by traditional music from all over the world. 10 organ-based tracks sound like a dreamy new age voyage from the 70s, yet this music is very here and now.

All the little live jams that this album comprises of have been tweaked and edited, some more and some less, but the feeling of raw improvised music has remained untouched. These don't mean to be no chart hits, actually quite the opposite. It may almost be called a set of B-sides and it would still carry this badge as proud as it gets. It's simple and complex at the same time, this collection has a potential to suck you in, take you for a ride through places unknown and spit you out at the other end.

Was that a dream?

Documa is the multimedia project of longtime Northwest Indiana musician Bobby Markos. Markos began writing and releasing music on his own, using analog production methods at home. The project debuted with a collection of songs called “The Color of Documa.” Around the same time, Documa began performing live, marrying audio and visual aspects to create an almost movie-like experience for audience members. The sounds of Documa are heavily influenced by music from the 60s and 70s, documentary soundtracks, and field recordings. The music incorporates fingerstyle guitar playing, as well as electronic compositions and samples to create ambient productions with country-western cadence. Markos relies on a home studio consisting of old reel-to-reel tape machines, VCRs, and cassette decks to engineer Documa recordings.

To integrate a longtime love of film, he founded Documavision, a production company focused on collaborating with other artists, visualizers, and motion graphics. The visual aesthetic focuses on film equipment and methods of the past as well, often using analog cameras, televisions, and VCRs to produce videos.

To close out 2020, Documa has partnered with Flesh & Bone Records to release a series of EPs, starting with the digital release of the EP “3.” and now a cassette release of "Lo-Fi One Two Seven".

RIYL: Duster, Bowery Electric, Codeine, Slowcore meets Downbeat, Tortoise.

The Chicago-based artist, real name Andres Ordonez, has been a fixture in US house music circles since the '90s, releasing a string of EPs on labels like Sistrum, Semantica and Sound Signature. Theo Parrish's outlet, which last year put out a live mix from Ordonez, will handle his first album.

“Have you ever really loved a human? Have you ever come across the wisest of them? They will slip right through your fingers, leaving the most unimaginable impression.”

Jupiter’s Purse is the debut EP by Dallas, Texas-based artist Mattie on Leaving Records. Produced in conjunction with fellow Dallasite Black Taffy, Jupiter’s Purse is an expansive and unique work of experimental soul. Featuring 2021’s lauded single “Human Thing,” Jupiter’s Purse broadens a window into the fresh and exciting vision of Mattie. Explaining the EP’s theme, Mattie states, “I’m very fond of the planet Jupiter in the astrological sense because Jupiter represents expansion. It also represents the planet that takes everything that it is that we desire to see for ourselves in this life and it expands it, right? I was inspired to call it Jupiter’s Purse because it also reminded me of a female womb in a sense, the incubation process that happens within the womb, and kind of the purse being the womb of Jupiter. And the planet is basically holding our things and incubating them until it’s time to expand them.”

Of collaborating with Black Taffy, Mattie says, “I felt like his melody and my pen, and the voice that was coming through me and what really wanted to be said through the lyrics, it’s like they just found a home together. And it was so effortless to really just kind of dance with his melodies and write these lyrics and these stories. So that’s basically how we kind of started working together, and yeah, I think we made a baby. A studio baby.” The EP’s five cohesive tracks loosely follow the story of a narrator named Mhuv. Mattie states, “It’s really a story of myself as Mhuv, and how it’s felt for me to be at times identified with the body as a person, and then other times being able to observe the body, and know myself as that as well, and what that has felt like, kind of being in this sense of duality. Jupiter’s Purse is basically a vocal representation of a lot of duality that I experienced. In coming to know my true self, that duality kind of came more to the forefront, so I started to write from that, and to really understand the power in the duality, while returning back to myself as source.”

Director Tramaine Townsend provides visuals for the project. Mattie states, “I wanted it to be clean but experimental, experimental and also clean. I wanted it to have that two-fold. I’ve been listening to a lot of recordings from Virgil Abloh, and he inspired me this year to really appreciate the duality that’s in my work. And even in the visuals, the cleanliness of it, but the experimental aspect. The purist meeting the tourist. The purist being that classic approach to visuals, which I appreciate Tramaine for, and then also allowing me as the tourist, the one that is experimental and that wants to have a different experience… Once you see it, you’ll see the beauty, the continuity of what we’re trying to say.”

Mattie concludes, “I feel like what I realized is that there’s a home in me that is comfortable no matter where I’m at. And my life is based on finding that and remembering that home within myself. And so my focus on the external things, even though I keep them up and I maintain the physical things, but I realize that my only purpose, if there was one, is to really remember myself, as if to remember that home within myself, so that I can be comfortable no matter where I’m at. And my music is an expansion of that, that surrender to that aspect of this experience which is to come home and find that home within myself. The music is about going through what it feels like when you are on the path to remembering yourself. What it feels like, that oiliness, that stickiness, that bulldozer, the big explosions, the feeling of ground zero, the feeling of heightened senses, the feeling of being a giant but then also you feel like you are David, and there’s a Goliath. I plan on moving through, which is why the character’s name is Mhuv in Jupiter’s Purse, because I see ourselves, everyone on the planet, moving through these spaces and them not being intended to be a sticking point for us. And so Jupiter’s Purse is what I would call maybe a gateway, a womb to the other side. Jupiter is going to expand this project, because that’s what Jupiter does, and has blessed this project already, so I know Jupiter’s going to expand it to be another side of this, where we won’t be speaking from duality, but we’ll be speaking from our natural state as wholeness.”

Other Rhythms is Ehse debut of Baltimore-based artist and musician Katie Addada Shlon. Katie performs on traditional instruments and those of her own making, improvising in response to the landscape.Other Rhythms is improvised cello for a collage of field recordings collected in cities and countrysides. It is one part meditation tape, one part endless dérive, one part site-responsive performance, and one part environmental reflection.

Spite Cathedral is an S+M regular but the music found on his releases speaks for an artist that is constantly challenging his own creative boundaries. With equal ease Spite Cathedral delves in micro sounds, multilayered noisescapes or more conventional yet daring musical form and structure. ‘The Human Touchʼ is not an exception of this creative modus operandi and certainly takes things further. Dan Mortazaviʼs teams up with his long term partner Karsten Svendsen on his latest album as Spite Cathedral which is a 13-track sonic shapeshifter that will take you all the way from the clinical minimalist sub-tech realms of opener ‘Wake Up Darling Iʼm Spitting Bloodʼ to the industrial- influenced and raw vocal-driven ‘In Godʼs Cornerʼ, the microscopic sound bits and muted angst of “Without a Soundʼ, to the freeform drifting ambiance of ‘Spellcasterʼ. While these pieces might be a guideline of sorts between them there definitely lies more. While it is indeed impressive that Spite Cathedral can speak to us through a plethora of electronic sub-genres itʼs more fascinating how all his different ways are not only not clashing but are always somehow working together in a hypnotizing unison.

Spite Cathedral return with his second album of 2020 ‘Allt är en tillfällighet, allting är mitt fel’. His signature sound are ever present while moving into more melodic and melancholic settings. Cold metallic beats and alienated vocals, eerie noise pool soundscapes and stargazing ambient with touches of 70’s avantgarde and modern classical. Soothes your soul and rattles your inner being.

Second release of Perspektif comes from Berlin based artist Tibia. Dream Pulse, his new album includes 8 tracks and will be released on 28th of February. Hailing from Berlin, Tibia is an electronic music producer and DJ known for blending melancholic moods with unconventional rhythms. His versatile sound spans from breakbeat techno to drowsy ambient all the way to 160 bpm footwork. Anchored in his roots as a drummer, he developed a rhythmic foundation that continues to permeate throughout his productions. As a producer, he explores new territories while maintaining a consistent commitment to his unique sound. Tibia's musical journey is a testament to the limitless possibilities in electronic music, contributing to its ever-evolving tapestry with innovative and emotive sonic landscapes.

Lair returns to Eotrax with a new 4-track EP. Following her 2017 self-titled debut EP, releases on Urban Legend and Rhod Records as well as collaborative projects in the visual arts and dance she returns to Eotrax to release I Hurt So I Cry this summer. Created using elements of sound healing and sacred sound I Hurt So I Cry can be engaged with from a purely musical perspective or listeners can take advantage of its sound healing qualities and use this EP as an active sound bath- active in that the listener intentionally uses the music to support them in going within and releasing, resting and restoring their body, nervous system and heart. As with all Lair’s work, the music is composed using only her voice with one exception, a sampled cello in the EPs first track Foreshadow. This brooding opener inhabits the dark ambient world we've come to expect of her music but as the EP unfolds ethereal vocal lines mix with her darker sound and a new, lighter sound world is revealed. In the artist’s words: “A shadow falls across our lives, we hurt so we cry, the feeling starts to shift and from that shift hope can spring." Both intimate and expansive, the tracks create a feeling of existing outside time. Lair’s profound connection to nature can be felt through all the tracks - at times in a deep cavern, at times moving through an elvish forest and at times in an Otherworld.
