The Calling The Hardcore volumes continue to invite artists to explore the diversity in hardcore rave.

In 2009, The Bloody Beetroots and Steve Aoki changed the course of dance music forever with "Warp 1.9." Through three minutes and twenty-four seconds of raw, unparalleled punk rock energy, the pair ushered in the next wave of youth culture, inspiring kids to trade in their guitars for Serato and turntables along the way. Aoki's bleeding screams over heavily distorted, compressed instrumentation helped "Warp" become perhaps the definitive song of the late 00's electro era. The official "10 Year Anniversary: 2009-2019" package celebrates the legacy of "Warp," featuring "1.9" alongside versions "1977," "7.7," and the 2016 reboot "2.0."

Straight in the wake of their eponymous debut LP released on the label back in 2016, Weval return to Kompakt this year with their sophomore album, 'The Weight', breaking their pop-mellow, nostalgia-friendly facet further out in the open as they arrive "at this place again were everything felt spontaneous, new and exciting, like we had in the beginning". Orbiting around that ever luminous yet wistful melodic halo that surrounds their music, this second full-length effort sweeps an extra-wide and languidly woven palette of emotions and moods, making for a uniquely ambitious and generously coloured mosaic of sound.

"We are excited to reissue Kuedo's classic 2011 album 'Severant' on double vinyl for the first time, and with a bonus track 'Work, Live &
Sleep In Collapsing Space'. The cover artwork has been redesigned by Raf Rennie (Who also designed Kuedo's recent album on
Brainfeeder, Infinite Window). In terms of feeling, ‘Severant’ explores the space between the detached world of the imagination and the
real-time world; that feeling of coming out of a daydream, on the edge of the drift from the day-to-day grind. Jamie says of this moment
”As reality shapes imagination and escapism affects your choices in the real world, there is a strange relational loop between the two
and the space in between the two. There’s a bitter sweetness in that gap, it has a certain emotive quality, kind of in between being and
non-being”. Again, musically ‘Severant’ is inspired by related themes. It sounds as if it’s in a sweet spot between the emotive, innately
futurist synth soundtracks of Tangerine Dream and Vangelis, borne from a time when the very idea of futurism was more prevalent, in
combination with musical ideas and inspiration from the emotionally ambivalent, materialist fantasies of ‘coke rap‘ such as The Clipse.
Rhythmically the record is influenced by what Jamie calls ”the two ultra modern musics of modern times”, footwork from Chicago, which
Planet Mu has explored in depth on its recent releases, and again the drum machine grids of coke rap. Jamie says ”I wanted to capture
a really futurist sentiment, kind of melancholy and grand luminescent, so I used the instrument that most evokes that for me - that
sweeping Vangelis brass sound.” And on coke rap he talks about the emotional ‘half being’ of the music, the energetically charged,
detached ambivalence of the MCs, and the admission that the MCs could be ”fantasising without admitting to doing so.”

Written and produced in a country house surrounded only by vast, empty landscapes and an endless sky, ‘Suicide Disco’ is the fruit of a 3-year long collaboration and Years of Denial’s debut LP for Veyl.
Urged to escape from crowded cities and information overload, the duo sharpened their sound and working process through isolation and introspection, crafting 11 songs filled to brim with enormous hooks, New Wave nostalgia and razor-sharp production details.
Barkosina’s voice echoes and oscillates against Jerome’s snares, profound and wounded at once. Her expressionist narrative take us to unknown yet familiar places, amplified by dub delays and otherworldly reverbs. Each track tells a story based on the intensity of relationships, a touching and distorted invitation into intimacy and complicity.

It's been two years since GusGus graced us with their enigmatic Kompakt debut "24/7". This album was return to form for the trio, earning much acclaim and fanfare thanks to its conceptual rigidity and pure glamour. Conceived solely with the help of two precious Doepfer modular systems and Daniel August's all-pervasive vocals, it could have been easily characterized as Gus Gus' unofficial live album. If you had the chance to catch one of their many live shows on their exhaustive world-wide tour, you know what drive and emotion their show brought to the stage and crowd. Let’s fast forward to present day. The trio comprised of President Bongo, Biggi Veira and Daniel August felt the urge to reunite. They set up a makeshift studio in a summer cottage in the depths of the lava field. Secluded in silence and beauty they began working on their seventh studio album and have delivered "Arabian Horse" - a full length that brims with highlights showcasing GusGus’ versatility and stunning songwriting ability to creative levels that we feel is their greatest accomplishment in their 15+ year history. A vast array of illustrious guest musicians and singers abound on these powerful ten new songs. Most prominently, we welcome the long awaited return of former band member and gifted vocalist Ur?ur "Earth" Hákonardóttir who appears on the three songs “Be With Me”, “Arabian Horse” and “Over”. Hogni Elisson recently released a wonderful album with his band Hjaltalin and lends his voice to some of the album's most memorable and deepest moments. Samúel Jón Samúelsson contributes the elevating, goosebump-inducing string arrangements, Davd Thor Jonsson contributes accordion and the banjo. Even an un-named Gypsy combo leave their mark on "Arabian Horse"! Compared to GusGus’ stripped down predecessor for Kompakt, "Arabian Horse" is much more "in your face" – the songs brim with big gestures, enthralling hooks, pop and soul! GusGus have perfected the craft of balancing that fine line between commercial pop and underground dance music. But who needs compartmentalization when we're talking about music and emotion? Take the powerful schaffel (aka shuffle) anthem "Deep Inside" which makes use of big room chords you'd normally hear in more commercially tunes but balances that with a ferocious bass line and vocal duel that belongs to anyone. This sincerity in their music carries throughout “Arabian Horse”. Another prime example of this is the Högni fronted "Within You" – strings converge with his breathtaking vocals backed by a thoroughly addictive techno bass kick. It’s a fact that GusGus retrace their original influences and have created a dance pop album that equally resonates a forgotten period of early ‘90’s dance pop (think The Beloved), classic house music and urban soul a la Massive Attack. But make no mistake, "Arabian Horse" does not sound like pure retro in any way. The Force Dimension was formed in the late 80’s by René Van Dijck and Tycho de Groot. After some demos and appearances on compilations, the band signed a contract with the Belgian label KK Records. Their self-titled debut was released in 1989 curiously on two different versions, one produced by Luc Van Acker (Revolting Cocks) and the other co-produced by Dirk Ivens (Klinik, Dive). The duo continued developing a very unique sound mixing EBM, industrial and different electronic influences. In 1990 they finished what is considered their definitive work, “Deus Ex Machina”, followed by the mega club-hit “Algorythm”. The band released another single next year, “New Funk”, and after a couple of compilations stopped to work together in 1997. During the next years there were some failed attempts to reunite but it wasn’t until 2013 when The Force Dimension was resurrected by René Van Dijck. “Deus Ex Machina” is being now re-released on an expanded edition with all original tracks plus some bonus including remixes of “Algorythm”, some rare tracks from old compilations and new versions of the unreleased songs “Fatal Erection” and “Scanners”. Influenced by the social and political climate of the modern world, MOTSA’s debut album, ‘Perspectives’, is inspired by his acute awareness of modern society’s dependence on technology and the social media bubble also responsible for the civic polarisation seen globally. The 11 track album takes the listener on an emotional journey with dark, yet hopeful, detailed compositions, each representing their own personal story. The title “Perspectives” refers to a problem we all face: differing perspectives of the same situation, which in turn leads to conflict, be it in personal relationships, families and even political discussions globally. With individuals and groups often losing perspective in disagreements, MOTSA’s debut LP calls for more empathy, highlighting our current trajectory of an ego-driven society. Encouraging listeners to spend less time behind computer screens and more time outside in nature to broaden our horizons and reflect on human decisions, many of the album’s samples were recorded from MOTSA’s own environment. Using the sounds of children playing in the sand on a Balearic beach, crickets in the grass, or the ambient soundscapes of bells recorded from his father’s apartment in Moscow, the producer also recorded and sampled his own voice to create distant, choir-like melodies in many of the tracks. The artist’s signature sound – a soulful yet driven harmonic blend – continues to propel the multi-talented artist to the highest acclaim into 2019 and beyond.

Beautiful, eerie soundtrack by Clint Carney (aka System Syn) to the film he also wrote, produced and starred in. Dry Blood is full of haunting piano melodies and dark brooding electronics that summon the entire film in a few notes.

No Fantasy Required features production from Matthew Dear and a guest spot from Scissor Sisters' Jake Shears, among others. There's also a collaboration with Hudson Mohawke called "Planet E."

It's been a big year for the acclaimed !K7 series, following entries from Marcel Dettmann, Dâm-Funk, Jackmaster and Moodymann. Avery's instalment is meant to capture the moment "your watch stops ticking" in the club and you get lost in the music. Avery includes tracks from Svreca, Rrose, Iori, Post Scriptum and Planetary Assault Systems. The mix also features three new originals—an ambient cut called "Space Echo," a DJ-Kicks exclusive called "A Mechanical Sky" and a new tune from Rote, his collaboration with Volte-Face.

Paul DeMarinis is a key figure in the history of electronic music since the 1970s. Collaborator with the likes of Robert Ashley, David Behrman, and David Tudor, DeMarinis is a pioneer in the development of gallery sound installation and digital music technologies. Black Truffle is thrilled to announce the release of a double-LP collection, selected in collaboration with the artist, focussing on DeMarinis’s exploration of synthesized voice and the digital analysis and manipulation of speech sounds.

Musique Pour La Danse is proud to present Coil's unreleased soundtrack for the VHS only, pre-internet, sexual education documentary entitled "The Gay Man's Guide To Safer Sex" released in 1992. Members for this project are John Balance, Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson and Danny Hyde.

The OST, to quote John Balance's interview for Compulsion Online, "is [a] slightly new agey, progressive house type thing".

Another way to approach it is as a delightful collection of balearic beats, smoking jazz not far removed from Badalamenti's work with David Lynch, somewhat of an ambient house album for your home listening and early morning sunrise dances, Coil style.

Taken from the original masters provided by Danny Hyde, "The Gay Man's Guide To Safer Sex" features a new sexy edit of the main theme. Bonuses "Nasa-Arab" and "Omlagus Garfungiloops" are taken from the 1992 CD only "Stolen And Contaminated Songs", both being original versions of the radically reworked (for the Ost) "Nasa-Arab 2" and "Exploding Frogs" in order to balance the whole album and extend the listening pleasure.

For almost 10 years, Zimmer has conquered the dance floors of the world without ever stopping. Hot out of Lisbon’s ghetto sprawl, 19 year old Puto Tito breaks thru on Príncipe with 20 tracks produced when he was barely into his teens, all salvaged from an old Soundcloud account and newly remastered for the dance. The sound of ‘Carregando a Vida Atrás das Costas’ is patently influenced by Tito’s Angolan heritage, and faithfully employs the popular slow Tarraxho and tougher Kuduro rhythm styles. Yet, like the best of Príncipe’s releases, it’s the way he injects a playful, weirdo character and uncompromising, psychedelic vision to his trax that sets Tito’s music apart form the crowd, whilst being very much connected to it.

Aviador Dro are without a doubt the most avant-garde and influential techno-pop band from Spain. They started in 1979 and this year are celebrating their 40th anniversary playing shows, re-releasing some old works, publishing a book and also a new album. “Acción Contra El Pasado” was recorded in Madrid in December of 1980 and is one of the oldest live performances of which there is a recording evidence. This concert is legendary not only for its age, but also for including some unreleased songs, a couple of early covers by Kraftwerk and Sex Pistols and vintage versions of classics tracks. “Aviador Dro y su Maquinaria Humana” (exactly as it was announced on the original flyer) was formed at that time by Biovac N, Fox Cicloide, Placa Tumbler, Derflex Tipo IARR, CTA 102, X, Metalina 2 and Cyberjet. A priceless piece of history restored and remastered from the original cassette recorded directly from the mixing desk.

Plus or Minus Two compiles four songs from Kansas City wave pioneers Short-Term Memory’s first cassette album, Every Head Needs Cleaning, with two previously unreleased tracks recorded in the 90s.
This EP focuses on the group’s prescient dance-floor DIN-sync workouts which share sensibilities with contemporaneous early Detroit experiments by Juan Atkin’s Cybotron, Ron Hardy’s visionary Kikrokos tape edit, Shoc Corridor’s extended 808
exercises, and 90s Techno Pop by Haruomi Hosono. Rounding off the EP is the existential electronic soul ballad Words. Remastered from the original reels, 45rpm DMM pressing.
Kansas City, 1983: a band formed, wires connected and synapses fired. Three friends, tired of guitar/bass/drums rock started jamming with newly acquired synths and Roland TR 808. They called themselves Short-Term Memory. Thanks to the vanguard technology of the time, these
electronic instruments spoke to each other, and Jim Skeel, John Paul & Robert Duckworth could program their instruments, riding the DIN-sync wave. Weekly jams became more ambitious, and in 1983 they released their first album Every Head Needs Cleaning on their own Silly Poodle Music label. Over the 80s members drifted in and out of the group, and they released two cassettes, an LP and a 7” EP. By the 90s Jim Skeel was at the helm, the only original member, and joined by Tim Higgins he continued to record in MIDI mode for a few years before pulling the plug, leaving recordings and memories that resisted the great fadeout of time, and today sound vibrant and more visionary than ever.

Mule Musiq's sub label studio mule has formed a group of shifting members and are now releasing a debut album with 8 tracks of reworked obscure japanese gems. The album contains the three singles the group released so far, featuring miyako koda of the ex-perimental pop band dip in the pool, whose "on retinae" was reissued by music from memory to great acclaim, on vocals and mule musiq staple kuniyuki on production with direction by label head Toshiya Kawasaki.

After the deeply ambitious three EP trilogy Impossible Objects of Desire in 2017, Fujiya & Miyagi are to release their 7th full length album. 'This record started life as our funk record,' says Fujiya & Miyagi's David Best. 'Yet once we got into the production stage our embryonic funk songs moved closer to electro in feel. Although this is our funkiest album to date and the funk is deliberate.'It's not surprising that a sense of evolution and stylistic shift would take place within the process of putting together a single record, given Fujiya & Miyagi's near two decade career of genre-hopping across Krautrock, electronica, disco, pop, funk and anything else they feel like throwing into their smart yet deeply accessible take on electronic music. Whilst this album might be rooted in nostalgia, with everything the pair do there's still a feeling of momentum and something fresh. A tired re-hash of familiar sounds this is not. Instead it finds a group re-connecting with the potent music of their youth and connecting it with their well-learned musical chops as adults. The pair's recent listening habits of African music can even be heard faintly amongst the dance floor-destined blasts of electro. 'Its creeping in here but will be even more apparent on the next record, ' Best says. The album is ultimately one about escape and abandon. About embracing and reliving lost moments on the dance floor charged by the surge and power of youthful remembrance. Or, as Lewis says, 'Flashback is a flashback to less complicated times with no responsibilities. It's also about the odd fragments of memories that stay with you.

Japanese living legend electronic producer Takayuki Shiraishi; this is a collection of his unreleased materials in late 80’s.
