“Humblekids” is the first studio album by Fiasko Leitmotiv. This work is a journey in multiple dimensions of music and narrative, and even if its deep roots are certainly electronic, the listener will land in different atmospheres, different genres mixed together in new keys, with new meanings, all in a post punk environment. from a narrative point of view, “Humblekids” presents two main styles, one metaphisical and one surrealistic, and somehow the second seems to carry the first one in a mix of tragedy and irony. “Hanako” and “Balls” , the two singles from the album, underline the presence of theese two different but coexisting approaches,tied together in a necessarily sense, like darkness and light , day and night.

Live & Direct from Miami Beach, FL… EZ Dee weaves together a fine-tuned contemporary fusion of classic dance music influences ranging from bassline-driven proto-house, deep slick electro, downtempo club music & plenty of acid… You may recognise his signature touch from our Club Tools Vol.2 12” where he was featured as Bong Soup… an alter-ego lurking deep within the depths of Villa D’Otto Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more from this cat… he’s only just getting started..

Since their first release as Extrawelt 'Soopertrack' dropped on Border Community in 2005 Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have had a remarkable run. They relentlessly toured the world with their highly esteemed live show and released plenty of killer releases on labels like Traum or Cocoon. Naturally, our ears were wide open when the Hamburg-based couple sent over a bunch of new productions to the KOMPAKT HQ. Announced as what they call a new, alternative path of production for them, more precisely "less computer, more hands on" we were directly intrigued by the power and rawness of their new sound.

Dropping full Sweat EP with a very Chillout Mix by the mighty Locked Club and groovy jacking workout by Kovyazin D! Big TIP! Errortica has been smashing it really hard lately, vibing the big room and setting up the heat level of prime time slots (just watch her legendary STVOL.TV set and you can get an idea, how sweaty it was). Utilizing her experience of early years playing in garage bands and the experience as an in-demand DJ, Errortica comes with a fresh and original approach for production on Sweat and Get Down. Break-beat, balearic, jersey and bass music, Sasha denies genre borders, and incorporates what she plays out into her own new music world. Calligraphic sampling, re-sampling, vocal recording and processing via guitar FX pedals, heavy drum programming, - the creative flow here has been also very sweaty, and so is the final result. The Blaze ist ein französisches Musik-Duo, das aus den beiden Cousins Guillaume und Jonathan Alric besteht. Sie kombinieren die von ihnen geschaffenen Musikstücke oft mit Videos zu einem audiovisuellen Gesamtwerk. In ihrer Musik mixen beide Einflüsse aus Dub, House und Popmusik. Sowohl Guillaume als auch Jonathan Alric singen auf einigen ihrer Tracks. Als Einflüsse für ihre Musikvideos nennen sie die Regisseure Ken Loach sowie Jean-Pierre und Luc Dardenne und den Fotografen Sebastião Salgado. Nun hat Guillaume Alric mit Enfant Sauvage ein spannendes Solo-Projekt und veröffentlicht mit 'Petrichor' das Debütalbum "Mit Enfant Sauvage wollte ich mit drei Musikvideos, einem Album und Fotos einen Teil einer Welt zeigen, die ich sehr gut kannte. Durch Gesichter und Orte, Klänge und Texte wollte ich die Geschichte einer Ära erzählen, die ich mit der unschuldigen Inbrunst einer Jugend in der Wildnis durchlebte."

E-control and Electrodefender , two mates and fans of the old arcade classics gamemachines decided to produce a vinyl split ep together. For this, e-control provided two of his unreleased electro tracks from 2001 and electrodefender 3 of his recent tracks that he arranged and recorded in the years 2021-2022. The EP is strictly limited to 150 copies in black vinyl and has a playing time of 30 minutes. Rootsy oldschoolelectro in the style of the early 80s into the early 90s. The A side of the label is numbered with a stamp and there are two stickers of the two music makers on the cover.

Myers returns, fresh off the back of a debut show at Field Day and with a two track 12" nodding to the past and the future.

'Taps' is a relentless drum machine driven, synth directed monster, that comes at you like it's about to punch you in the face, but actually picks you up and chucks you on its shoulders. 'Rabona' is a restrained, smooth but rugged roller, with subtle shifts that previews another layer to the Myers palette. Having taken steps out into the real world, expect a lot more to come over the next year.

Excellent robotic electro(nix) as Pan-Am Tracks welcomes DVS NME and Krypton 81 with this ambitious project that pays homage to German Electro producer Das Muster. Both artists set the tone with intricate rhythms and analogue warmth. Pulsating basslines and shimmering synths intertwine, creating a vibrant, futuristic soundscape. This dynamic interplay between the two artists continues throughout the album, as DVS NME and Krypton 81 counterpoint each others explorations into the sound. A sonic trip that will surely resonate with fans of the genre.

Sen Am is an enduring and tender album, rich and beguiling and generous in a quiet way. Over the last few years, I find myself returning to it, listening and absorbing, reflecting on the voices and working through the multiple layers of feelings and themes it announces with confidence and equanimity. Notions of care and contradiction, expressions of joy and desire and the underlying feeling of unease and turmoil; there is an urgent appeal to the listener for generosity, to strengthen our capacity to hear multiple voices simultaneously, to exist in multiple places at once.

Duval Timothy’s music was dropped into our world from another realm sometime in the spring of 2017. We received the call and we answered it. The rhythm and spirit was transmitted via London’s NTS Radio on the Do!! You!!! Breakfast Show with Charlie Bones and a short while later we were listening to the first vinyl edition of Sen Am in our living room in Berlin. The record got a lot of plays (at home and at some shows, before and after performances). It was like sunlight filtering through a cracked window and remaining there for a moment, dancing. Blue music emanating from a liminal zone, an in-between space, somewhere on the outskirts of Freetown, or rural Sierra Leone, or the outer edges of South London, or Bath, UK, or some undisclosed orbit, unfixed location. The music is soaked in diasporic experiences. It refuses to settle but still invites us to enter and stay awhile in that zone, where multiple forms exist (all) together with jazz, hip-hop, various strands of expressive electronics and experimental music all breathing together and moving around. It is a portal to a place of possibilities, a space for building and repairing possible and lost connections. But life in that liminal zone is precarious; it is life under duress; under pressure – not merely the pressure to produce a presentable, categorizable, and salable body of work, but the pressure that compels us to experiment and create new concepts and things that will help us imagine a different existence, a way out of the turbulence.

Freetown is a marvellous and sometimes sad place. It is one of those unmistakable locations inscribed diasporic memory; a place that touches you, a place that holds you and demands you bear witness: witness to pain, poverty, joy and desire. You remember the voices and the eyes of people even in momentary encounters. In Sen Am, you hear not only Duval’s recollections and sounds of Freetown, you hear family and friendship, people coming together and forming bonds, creating surrogate families. Forging community wherever you go is a practice, and community is at the core of this music. It’s in all the voices, from Emmerson and 6pac to Aminata and Aruna. It opens up a space for Black voices, for Sierra Leonean voices, and those voices extend through the succeeding projects, the 2 Sim EP and the album Help, and all that radiates from Duval’s Carrying Colour imprint.

Thank you for the invitation to write about the album Sen Am, on the occasion of its re-release which also coincides with the release of the exquisite double 7” Smɔl Smɔl with cktrl — a wonderful piece which calls on the listener to play both records at the same time to hear the music or play them separately and hear different versions. Duval is strengthening us, encouraging us to feel comfortable with discomfort, with incompleteness, with the hard-to-understand. This is a beautiful thing.

Music From Memory’s final 12" for 2017 is a reissue of Dub Oven's self released, and sadly one-off, 1983 EP 'Skin N Bones’.
Pioneers in the Post Punk Industrial and New Wave scene in 1980’s San Francisco, Gary Miles (Voice Farm) and Blaise Smith (Minimal Man), met at San Francisco’s notorious 181 Club in December of 1982. This straight/same sex/swing-both-ways late night dive bar was tucked away in one of the city's most risky, drug riddled neighbourhoods. Stationed near the SF Museum of modern Art it attracted a wild audience of local patrons, aspiring young artists and music heads. In the thick of all this the duo felt impartial to a lot what was going on musically and set out to produce electronic music that could break through the "somewhat exhausted post disco sound that was then competing in the local San Francisco clubs". Enlisting soul vocalist Celeste Miller, the duo were also inspired by Lee Perry / Upsetters dub tracks being produced in Jamaica and created a unique breed of avant guard hybrid New Wave/Electronic Funk.
With it's influences seemingly as much rooted in the past and the present as it was focused on the future; Dub Oven formed a distinct, mystical approach to music intended for the dance floor. All three tracks on this 12" embody a signature groove and an inventive synthesized abstraction to express a languishing urban unsettledness and spiritual awareness. Recorded at L7 Studios in San Francisco with the assistance of the the studio’s in house producer Marco Perry (who currently now works with Bjork) the record was unfortunately overlooked by A&R at several major and even local labels and was finally self-released in very limited quantities. Utilising analog electronics and instrumentation, the record draws on elements of dub, new wave, soul and funk to create a sound that is uncategorizable and one that was perhaps simply too forward thinking for it’s time.

Dry_Feel is the personal project of the Greek label founder Dystatik, encompassing various types of experimental and darkwave music. This is what you will find in his vinyl debut, which includes a collaboration with Fluora. You can expect extremely fresh minimal synth, synthwave, EBM, dark elektro, and new beat tracks, all created with a dancefloor riot in mind.. Presented in a One-off truly limited edition of 300 copies lacquered pressed on 180 gr. high quality solid Black vinyl. All tracks have been specially mastered for vinyl by Daniel Hallhuber at Young and Cold Studios (Germany).

It expands the original LP into a full 2xLP gatefold with four(!) bonus tracks, including instrumentals and the beloved Denki No Merodi now for the first time on 12”. We Are DMX is a testament to the true depth of Ed DMX’s musicianship. From catchy electro pop sing-alongs to melodic dance tracks defying pigeonholes, the album was crafted almost entirely by Ed himself. True to the original album credits, the reissue is mastered by the legendary Matt Colton and is housed behind the iconic artwork by Manuel Sepulveda of Optigram.

Born and raised in the heart of the French Alps, and now residing in Paris, DJ Physical's sound is one of a harsh romance. Perhaps it was the beauty and serenity of the snow-covered mountain tops and the ferocious nature of French techno moulding together that spawned his 'Raw Poetry' aesthetic; an emotive blend of dark and light that feels like it could belong in concert halls and theatres as well as underground sex clubs.

Following an outing on Lobster Theremin's recent various artist fundraiser for Ukraine, and appearances on Rinse France and Running Out Of Steam, the Parisian local serves up five deadly cuts of brooding electro and techno. 'Not So Human' delivers the influence of trance on the contemporary techno soundscape, but doesn't over-do it. Trance-licked, not dominated, the uncompromising cut of wave-driven techno is the perfect accompaniment for when you want to take things up a notch. 'Sex Club' maintains DJ Physicals' fascination with 'Raw Poetry' - brimming with breaks-driven breakdowns, spinetingling atmospherics and low-pressure basslines that highlight the variety of influence the emerging producer brings to the table.

Acid synth-lines and lively trance-inspo create an altogether lighter mood as we flip the record on 'Mortal Dance', before 'Easy Dancer' changes its tune altogether with a pounding cut of progressive, freaky electronica.

Closing the release is 'Go Further' - misty electro, Southern-trap samples and those distinctive, high-culture ambient interludes creating a sense of emotive mystery. A well-rounded release with plenty of left-turns, this is DJ Physical's 'Raw Poetry' at its finest.

DJ Godfather with the bizness once again! Offering up a point and place where the tempos of house, techno and electro can be bridged in a single mix with the BPMs of footwork, juke and jungle. Get your more tongue in cheek, Dirty Bird-like club numbers from "Up All Night (feat Christina Chriss)" next to the straight up, frenetic, and deep Detroit styled clap-track "d3t-313".

Hailing from Rotterdam, DJ Easy B is one of the co-founders of the subversive renegade collectives ZMK Soundsystem and Move Around Sound. As a producer, Easy B's sonic palette is a raw and vibrant blend, drawing from '90s West Coast Electro, early Rotterdam Gabber and underground bass. Influenced by the infamous Dutch Acid Freeparty scene and the DIY energy of the UK Breakbeat/Hardcore Soundsystem culture.

This EP is Easy's first solo project, and there's more to come.
