Open Space is an exciting new label run by DJ Ray & Goiz. It’s inaugural release sees Goiz taking steps in a fresh direction with a 4 track EP made up mostly of slower tempos, intricate percussive patterns, and an underwater acid feel that’s reminiscent of Plastikman and early Move D.
The A1 cut, ‘That’s Green’ starts with a hot marimba line that is sure to grip your attention from the jump. The track bounces along at 109 bpm and opens up with warm ambience, trippy electric guitar samples, and a chunky electro-acid bassline that is guaranteed to make clubs bump and heads nod.
On the A2 is ‘Mid Pack’ a 100 bpm tribal aquatic trip for the dedicated downtempo deejay. This triplet-heavy rhythm track comes at you with a flurry of percussion, perfectly timed bleep melodies, and a squelchy acid bassline with an early Move D B-Side vibe.
Heading over to the flipside, the B1 track, ‘Zero Cap’ is likely to be a dancefloor favorite. This elastic-sticky-slapper almost demands a physical response with it’s sharp snare hits, driving bassline, and chopped quasi-vocal snips; all leading to a satisfying pay-off in the form of warm pads and floating marimba notes.
Finally, on the B2 we see the closing and fastest track, ‘Woods’ — An optimistic digi dream house bumper inspired by the sounds of CiM and Susumu Yokota. The track starts with a wide, hopeful ambient pad and microscopic drum sounds, quickly swelling into a racy but soothing 8 minute brain massage.

The first compilation of its kind, Electronic Voyages: Early Moog recordings 1964-1969 contains tracks by Robert Arthur Moog, Herbert Deutsch, Joel Chadabe, Lothar and the Hand People, Intersystems, Ruth White, Max Brand, and Paul Earls. All of these tracks, released here on vinyl in an edition of 1000 copies, have been scarcely heard and difficult to track down, with all but three of them previously unreleased on vinyl.

The second edition of Dekmantel’s foray into the era-defining, trans-Atlantic, cult techno label that is Djax-Up-Beats, comes another re-issue of classic 90s cuts.
The label say "The Dutch label was responsible for releasing some of underground’s most foundational dance music, mixing together Chicago and European artists alike, and acting as the launchpad for some of today’s biggest producers. Featuring offerings from luminaries such as Felix Da Housecat, and Glenn Underground, alongside veterans such as Steve Poindexter, and DJ Skull, this second EP highlights the classic label’s old-school’s sound, while showcasing its diverse range, from dubbier, ambient moments, to wall-thumping, body crushing house force. Timeless music, repressed, and re-released for a new generation of DJs who covet the classic machine music.
The second re-issue EPs, offer a more introspective look at the label’s earlier releases. Leading Volume 2 is Terrace’s 'Bewitched', to which DJ Richard has described as being the defining track of the label’s beginnings with its "dreamy, Detroit-style techno mixed with the harder rave elements of Northern Europe”. Glenn Underground’s bass-roller 'Real Space' weaves together soulful passion and Chicago prime beats, while Felix Da Housecat’s Temptation — originally from 1993 — gets a well earned re-release, reminding us of the soulful, deep and lustful energy the producer once had. China White, whose name doesn’t get banded around as much as it should nowadays, see their ethereal hit 'Theme from the Underground' get another opportunity to bliss out the more upbeat rave community.
The energy turns darker with Frank de Groodt’s The Operator, breaking the outer-most barriers of electro-techno, with 'The Mind Strike'. Chicago and Dance Mania’s Steve Poindexter turns out rolling, dance-energy bomb 'Body Jam', while Mike Dearborn’s deliverance of unreal, dry techno in 'Deviant Behaviour' runs aplomb with classic drum-machine pulses, claps, and uncomfortable, yet punishing melodies. DJ Skull’s 'Don’t stop the beat' rides the EP with gushings of hand claps, and gentle, early 90s warm techno color, that transport you back to a time of more informed, and conscious electronic musings, a feeling that embodies Djax’s heyday.
Founded in Eindhoven at the turn of the 90s, Djax-Up-Beats quickly earned an international reputation for being a key source of Chicago house, acid techno, and floor-filling, heavy-hitting, straight up underground 12”s. It’s a sound that spawned the sonic aesthetics of today, and can be heard in the left field techno productions of the likes of Bjarki, Salon des Amateurs and other erstwhile analog junkies."

Salin Records proudly presents Sable Blancs debut album „Homecoming“. Each Salin Records release is about telling a story and taking you on a journey. The day Sable Blanc told us about the idea of producing an EP based on the memories of a trip to New York City he made with three close friends in the summer of 2018 we instantly fell in love with this idea. After a few months of intense work, it became an LP - Sable Blanc‘s debut album and also a debut for Salin Records as this is the first album for the label. Inspired by the beautiful colours, outstanding energy and peace all around New York City that specific summer, Sable Blanc produced „Homecoming“. Every track on the album is about memories and friendship. For two reasons it felt like coming home for him. He lived a few years in the US and went to high school there. It was amazing to come back and finally meet a very close friend again. Sable Blanc chose a photo for each track - taken by his friend Adrien Philibert - which connects to the moment that inspired the track. Daria Salin developed the photos using the cyanotype, an analogue photo development process that was also used for the cover background. Together with the stories that Sable Blanc tells about each photo, the cyanotypes build an artistic booklet that is a special feature of the album. Homecoming is an album for a quiet, cosy evening, where you sit back in your favourite chair and hold the booklet in your hand to follow Sable Blanc and his friends on their trip to New York City. 'Obverse' often feels like an instrumental album because it started life as one, the driving philosophy being “what if the pressure of having to perform these songs live is removed entirely?” Granting yourself the freedom to chase down every idea a studio offers comes with privileges. What happens when you reverse a synth part mid-verse? Why not send an entire track through a faulty distortion pedal? Inspiration reveals itself in a variety of forms and, before long, a simple chord progression contorts into something entirely new. It’s a work method that yielded great results for the legendary German Kosmiche/Motorik experimentalists of the 1970’s. Intentional or not, 'Obverse' embodies more than a little of that spirit without even a hint of pastiche.

The more elusive pairing of French producer HAJJ (Dawn Records) and Lastrack (BFDM) meanwhile, team up to turn ‘Sea Snakes’ into something that harkens towards the world of Warp-like experimental and progressive contemporary post-trap, and breakbeats.

The Force Dimension was formed in the late 80’s by René Van Dijck and Tycho de Groot. After some demos and appearances on compilations, the band signed a contract with the Belgian label KK Records. Their self-titled debut was released in 1989 curiously on two different versions, one produced by Luc Van Acker (Revolting Cocks) and the other co-produced by Dirk Ivens (Klinik, Dive). The duo continued developing a very unique sound mixing EBM, industrial and different electronic influences. In 1990 they finished what is considered their definitive work, “Deus Ex Machina”, followed by the mega club-hit “Algorythm”. The band released another single next year, “New Funk”, and after a couple of compilations stopped to work together in 1997. During the next years there were some failed attempts to reunite but it wasn’t until 2013 when The Force Dimension was resurrected by René Van Dijck. “Deus Ex Machina” is being now re-released on an expanded edition with all original tracks plus some bonus including remixes of “Algorythm”, some rare tracks from old compilations and new versions of the unreleased songs “Fatal Erection” and “Scanners”. Limited edition of 500 copies on double vinyl and gatefold sleeve.

Skemer is a brand new cooperation between singer Kim Peers, who’s also a model for Vogue, Steven Meisel, Prada and guitarist Mathieu Vandekerckhove of post-metal band Amenra and his personal project Syndrome. Two very different worlds collide and lead to minimalist dark wave deconstructions that are equal parts brutal and erotic. This duality is reflected in the name Skemer, which next to its obvious English meaning of ‘intriguer’ also stands for ‘dusk’ in Mathieu’s native tongue West-Flemish, as well as in their debut album. Lanark Artefax releases a new EP titled ‘Corra Linn’ on 24th October via Numbers, l-a-n-a-r-k.net.
It is the Scottish producer’s first solo output since his breakout record on Whities in 2017, which included the ethereal ‘Touch Absence’. The three-track EP arrives after last year’s remix of Björk and an extensive period touring his internationally acclaimed live A/V show.
Recorded sometime in the last year and a half, the three tracks across ‘Corra Linn’ materialise like a cascading data flow; combining lazer sharp digital synths and hyperspatial sound design with scaled up, spine-tingling choral melodies, time-refracted field recordings and ethereal childlike vocal arrangements.
The EP’s title track, ‘Corra Linn’, takes its name from a waterfall in the Lanark area of Scotland, the water of which flows into one of the oldest hydro-electric power stations in the UK. The artwork accompanying the EP is a photomicrographic image of Lanarkite; a rare and precious mineral form. Almost all significant occurrences of Lanarkite were discovered deep within the Leadhills in South Lanarkshire, but it is said that an unknown, but large, quantity of it was once unearthed at the base of Corra Linn waterfall.

“Heroes Of The East“, a story about love, pride and rivalry is re-written by Belgian producer Placid One who’s style perfectly fits to the Shaw Cuts trademark sound. The story begins with an arranged marriage between Chinese Kung Fu student Ho Tao and Japanese Yumiko Koda who is highly-trained in Karate. They live together happily until one day, they decide to practice together. „Morse“, its blazing pads, energetic percussion and powerful rhythm weaves and chimes in sync with their intense and raw training duel. Relentless arguing about which martial style and philosophy is better leads Koda to become offended, so she returns to Japan. “Foothills“ is a bright, sonic forcefield and its pulsating drums set the tone for a voyage of mixed emotions and self-doubt. Marital and cultural misunderstandings lead Koda’s former school in Japan to send seven of their strongest students to fight Ho Tao and prove which country has superior fighting styles. Spurred on by radiant pads, chasing percussions and the heavy kickdrum of „Melopée“, Ho Tao wins all battles, two by trickery. He even begins to admire and learn about Japanese culture and martial prowess. But there is one more duel. Takeno, Koda’s master, challenges Ho Tao to a clash of styles. Darts, needles and shurikens catapult through the air, swords and spears collide, and crab style takes on fujian white crane. Armed with sharp chords, colossal drum jabs and menacing soundscapes, Lazarus supports the titan duel with his remix version of „Foothills“. Plants Dub is an art project of the homonym collective based in Lecce - Italy formed by Maria Teresa Santoro, art historian and light designer, Francesco Andriani De Vito aka Dubin dj and producer, and Andrea Presicce aka NoFinger Nails, dub master and producer. They work in Plants Dub project in a mutual exchange of skills so as to be able to research in a way where art and science has no borders. Plants Dub connects electronic music and bio-acoustic researches. Through samplings and synthesizers Plants Dub produces an inter-species communication in order to form a complete human-plant audio exchange. The album was composed using melodies generated by plants thanks to a special sound device that allowed the translation of the plants' electrical impulses into sound. Plant sounds were recorded between March 2018 and July 2019 in Salento. The musical production has followed a double register: in Acanthus Mollis, Morus and in Phoenix Canariensis the vegetable melodies overlap to specially composed dub rhythms, in Laurus Nobilis, Olea Europaea and in Quercus, the tree melodies are translated into ambient sounds.
