80%Baul is becoming very popular in the underground scene of Spain with his unique “Valencian style” new-beat-techno-trance. However, this record is not about that. This record showcases the post-punk side of this “touched by God” artist who turns everything he touches into gold. At Oráculo Records, we consider this to be the best Spanish post-punk album of all time. Presented in a One-off truly limited edition of 300 copies lacquered pressed on 180 gr. high quality solid Black vinyl. Ace Buzz is one of the various projects of Tony Baron and Gery Francois (the minds behind projects like "Teknokrat's" and others that would found their output on labels like Carrere). Potentially naive for some, but surely playful and raw, an exquisite example of the sound of Belgian "New Beat". Void of the usual aggressive temper known to the genre, "Moskitos" comes in with a slight juxtaposition of Balearic accents in the form of those classic, very simple, piano chords we might have heard enough of. The samples employed invoke the image of someone in a cheap hotel room in Ibiza without AC trying to kill the airborne vermin celebrated in the title while hallucinating from an August drug infused heatwave, who knows. On the B-side, things slow down into a deeper more serious mood, "Nuevo Mondo" departs from the usual New Beat potency into something a bit more digestible to the ear in a rather unique way, followed by a Remix that sounds more like a complete facelift of a cover version by studio maestro Anatolian Weapons.

Akyki’s debut on Distant Waters is an ode to his singular spacy house vibe infused with a minimal and electro touch. The newcomer in the scene manages to mix some hopeful feelings with an extraterrestrial use of fx and sound design elements.



The Ep is built as a resume of the French guy’s talent where each track has a particular color. The first one is a playful break in the style of a video game. The second one focuses on a bouncing catchy melody which brings a bit of melancholy to the project. The B face leaves more space to some peak time tools with a third track produced around an efficient bassline and wobble elements. The last track is quite different from the rest of the EP. With more saturation and a darker side, it is the perfect rocky tune to finish the journey.

Ali Berger has been churning out top-tier, thoughtful house music with plenty of soul and bounce for some time now. Whether he’s releasing via his own label Trackland, or dropping 12”s on labels like Spectral Sound, Clave House, Firm Tracks, and FCR, or DJing either solo or collaboratively with Davis Galvin as Hits Only, Ali’s signature feel is always palpable…there’s a genuine spirit to it all.

This 12” is four bumpers that balance sunshine and introspective, heady, thumpin’ house. A1 “Sun Rising On Harmony” has an ear-worm bass line hook driving the tune with an infectious melody on top riding shotgun. A2 “Inside” brings some acidic tendencies to a back-to-basics house sound we’re always in the mood for. Flip to the B-side and “Thoughts Like Light Snow” give us an electro reprise. B2 “Mint Leaf” brings us home with a swelling bass line and snares that dew-drop over the 4/4 with luscious pads and brain-itch scratching zoinks playing at your ear in the background. House music that’s like fine chocolate. Unpack and indulge!

After a short break mezin is back with the 4th record, helmed by Crihan. An Ordinary Family is a special affair, put together over a long period with a special narrative in mind, embodied by 4 pieces representing each of the main characters in F.M. Dostoevski magnum opus (or so we think!) The Brothers Karamazov. In this exercise of imagination, Alin attempts to push his creative juices to new heights to represent his perception of the novel’s titular actors. From religious themes, distant church bells and organs, yet, a lighthearted Aliosha to the dark reveries and otherworldly echoes of Ivan through to the sheer power and brute force of Dmitri and finally intersecting with sly, slinky but confident Grushenka. An Ordinary Family sets off on an ambitious trip that, we hope, will spark some curiosity for the novel, but we’ll be happy if you keep on dancing, too!

Almax und Forte is a side project of Synths Versus Me and India Nardone. Sameheads & Mutant Radio are going a teenie weenie bit further and unifying their ongoing collab in plastic. The kind you play, not the stuff you throw away. Released in Spring, at a party we’re throwing together in Tbilisi, this little beaut is a double sided 7”. The Mutantheads split 7” features some solid sound rep from both projects…. For Sameheads, Andrea & Alexander release their first material together, acting as a kind of trailer to an upcoming album released later this year on R-i-o. The track “Olias” finally gets its press after once being performed live at the fabled Sameheads festival “City of a Thousand Suns”… those were the days eh….. On the Mutant Radio side, fresh talent Tina delivers her debut release, and for that matter, the first ever track Mutant have put onto a piece of vinyl….. The track “Vacation” is the squelchy black sheep counter balance to the silky synth vibe of the other side. Just how they like it. The release will be up for pre-order from next week, and the digital stuff too…. Just the 300 copies available…… So,,, fix up look sharp……

Last year marked the reemergence of Anoesis following a 20-year hiatus. A highly respected producer across the ‘90s, specialising in interstellar IDM and electronica, Howard Dodd rose from his statis to release two new albums alongside a five-track EP on Cyphon Recordings last year. A bold statement and stake in the ground showcasing that Dodd’s production prowess has not faltered in that time, but has rather taken on a fresh vitality in this new chapter.

The Megacognition EP exudes Dodd’s distinctive style. A master at making tracks that sound like they were created in an extraterrestrial laboratory, fed by long lost tapes of Detroit techno from ‘Planet Earth’.

‘Vision Off’ opens the EP. Subaquatic rumblings with precision drum programming that dials from reverberating kicks to crunched claps. Trembling basslines and hypnotising synths entice you to the depths, as arps trickle to the top disorientating your brain.

‘Do Don’t Don’t Do’ and ‘Polybius’ follow. The former, a spiralling, off-kilter web of interlocking synthesis, that’s both dizzying and harmonising in the same breath. The latter a dubbed-out, minimal house groover packed with tactile basslines, dusty drum loops and echoed vocal samples.

Take to ‘New Style of Life’ for a transfixing dose of twisted Martian music, guaranteed to cause a stir. Warped electro meets cybertronic electronica with a techno edge. ‘Voxelle’ then closes out the EP. A soul-rousing cut of euphoric deep house. Stargazed, sunrise hazed, it’s a track that can be deployed anytime, anywhere and is sure to leave a lasting mark. Layers of luscious pads and celestial strings topped with an infectious synthline that will suspend you weightlessly in a bubble of worry-banishing brilliance.

Active in an age where talent, diligence and taste meant more than social media traction and algorithmic obedience, Dodd’s versatility and class have clearly never waned since those early days. If anything, the Megacognition EP shows it is as strong as it has ever been.

Atree’s latest record is a groove-inducing, dance floor-ready collection of funk infused electro and house music.

Axodry was founded in Frankfurt am Main in 1983 , the founding members were Talla 2xlc and RaHen aka Ralf Henrich. The first release Feel It Right was a success (see also Sound of Frankfurt ). RaHen and Talla 2xlc composed and programmed the debut song in RaHen's home studio . The Westside label made the final production possible in Axel Henninger's Dynaton Studio. There RaHen later produced the songs Surrender and The Time Is Right as well as many other songs and bands for Westside with Axel Henninger . At times Kurt Ader and Alexander Maurus were part of the band. The Music Hall concert in Frankfurt am Main took place in this line-up.
