Optimo Music don’t generally do limited edition releases but when The Golden Filter did these extra mixes of “End Of Times”, the A1 track off their recent EP we thought they were too good to remain in the digital domain so have pressed up a small run of 12” singles aimed specifically at DJs. The original single version is a future synth classic. These new dub versions take it to the dancefloor and have been tried and tested around the world over the last few months. They are considerably extended, dubbed out and add extra dynamics & ecstatic synth power with hints of the original vocal. There is a slo mo version at 103 bpm and a faster version at 118bpm which means the track should work any time from warm up to peak set. There is also a Drone-Apella version included too.

Creme Organization welcome a new producer to the ranks for their next EP: that man is Rhythmic Theory, a mysterious artist from Bristol who has years of experience of DJing, producing and running labels behind him. Most recently he has been in charge of his own eponymous label, and has close involvement with the BRSTL imprint as well as releasing on Idle Hands and Happy Skull. Across four track he shows a number of different sides, all of which are fascinating and inventive. Pessimists' opener Empty House (RT's Choppage Mix) is a sparse and broody track with, at first, only the occasional kick drum beneath sooty synth smears. Its from a post-human world and eventually turns into a lurching, off beat track that rises form the ashes of jungle and dubstep with real menace. Outlawed From Reality is another slow and purposeful track that is eerie and cinematic: the off beat drums and spooky atmospheres are full of intrigue and suck you right in, then Cyclic Motion continues to bring a paranoid and unsettled feel to the EP with its layering of elastic drums, naught sine waves and scattered drum hits. Last of all, Rachael's Theme mixes up passages of blissful cosmic ambient with loose, rumbling drums and a general vibe that feels something akin to passing from this life to the next.

Returning to his home base, Rotterdam based electro-techno mainstay Conforce presents a heavy pack of angular, experimental approaches on his latest offering into the Delsin databank. Boris Bunnik's accomplished machine language has traversed deep and dubby soundscapes with punchy, club-focused fare alike, since 2010's Grace EP he has found a regular home on Delsin and it's always exciting to see what he comes up with next. Where Conforce has commonly housed Bunnik's more melancholic, introspective work, the sound palette on Sins Of Synthesis is more tipped towards darker dimensions. The shadow of braindance looms large, guiding the music towards twitchy pattern manipulation, alien textural design and dissonant harmonics. Bunnik's signature sense of melody can still be detected around the edges, from the distant, hazy pads of 'Charlatan' to the lingering chimes of 'Fragile', but this is a pointed new direction for Conforce and it's leading somewhere very interesting...

After a long time in the works, Mothball Record is proud to present a lost album from legendary Italian wave band: Ruins. Hailing from Venice, Ruins are one of the pioneering artists of the Italian new wave scene beginning in the late seventies: an explosion of new and exciting art, music and film. The tracks on “New Record” were taken from the self-distributed, tape only release from 1983 “Side Roads”. This album was timed directly before their most well-known releases in contemporary times, the “Fire / Crime” 12” and the eponymous 4 track EP on Black Square. Taken from the original master tapes and selected by Ruins themselves, the album should be listened as a whole to gain the full experience, but immediate ‘must-hear’ tracks are “I Don’t Know”, “I Love You” and “Last Night DJ Killed My Wife” featuring early use of Roland TB303. At times unsettling, beautiful, violent, harmonious, these songs will finally get the audience and exposure they deserve 35 years later.

Utopia is an unimaginable alter world that is created by Mastering Black’s universe of sonic escapism.

When I have been overwhelmed with the amount of work that I've been doing in the past years, I have decided that I needed a certain get away - a certain sacred space for me to pursue the reason why I actually signed up for this in the beginning. Music composing that love is!

Earlier this year , during a trip in African island group Cabo Verde, we went to this night excursion to the Viana desert. We have taken some random photos shot some videos of the Moon thru a telescope. That didn’t struck me as an amazing experience yet I was there many distorted feelings in my mind trying to enjoy and forcing myself trying to be in the moment.

So when I have looked at these pictures back on a calmer state when I was home In NL , I've seen the vast amount of breather - a space - enough that is needed in life to let the blood flow in vein the way it’s suppose to flow. Envisioning your life from moon to create clarity - looking to life on earth - to understand what our mistakes are as human beings - or learning from 8 years old’s pure heart - that’s when my 8 year old daughter collaborated with the fist opening track to summarize the main purpose of our life - love or so called Utopia!

Youcef Debbihi continues to impress and surprise after already his 3rd volume as Sea of Disillusions. This 4 tracker extends what was already started and established in the previous volumes, expanding his studio excellence into more break beat oriented directions, either at high speed in the form of almost Drum'n'Bass with "k2" or slowed down as a more trip-hop tempo with "Break Whale". B-side slows down to upper 90bpm range of driving rhythm under atmospheric dubby hints of humidity "5deF", and, finalizing with a beatless Ambient mix of "Loon River" which sounds like the slow motion intro to an epic trance anthem that never fully takes off, setting the stage for something heavy to be mixed in. Essential for any reasonable DJ record bag.

After a 3-year hiatus, Noerk is back with a spacey acidic three tracker plus a rolling peaktime remix from our good friend and really talented producer Lee Burton. Untitled_02 is an electrified, deep yet funky tribute to Vangelis (as we perceive it) with lush synthesizers and grooving 303s. Pending forties is reminding us of the 90s era when sample based breakbeat and acid realised they were made for each other like peanut butter and jelly. It's Over (original mix), on the other hand, follows a more straightforward 4 on the floor loop and lets the jazzy chords and the intergalactic melodies do all the work. It was during the long days of the 2020 lockdowns that Kid Who began to explore these archives, sifting through thousands of tracks to eventually amass a collection of several hundred of his favourites. Curated by Klasse Wrecks and Kid Who in close collaboration with the talented artists behind them, the .NFO project aims to bring some of these finds to the broader dance music community via a series of VA 12"s and mixes. This is the very first and only single artist EP from Tone DropOut. This EP is the work of TDO co -owner Dawl. Dawl has put together four big dance floor electro bangers , that we felt should not be separated. Each track shows off Dawl's skill, knowledge and love of electro, anyone who loves new and old school electro will love this. We have the big bass lines, the beautiful big deep synths and pads, bleeps and buzzes and that classic electro beat, and topped off with some cheeky sampled voices. The title Track -Total Annihilation kicks off with its strong electro breakbeat and popping bleeps, going in and out, then comes the big fuzzy bassline and cinematic strings swooping through the track moving all the time, will get any dance floor going. Yazzus follows up her appearance on the Tresor 30 compilation with a new EP named Black Metropolis. Within its, at times, rough-hewn textures lies a core that explores joy and energy within the roots of black techno. In her words: “I want this release to be black and beautiful, to be queer, and playful, a nostalgic nod to the 90s but also reimagining it in the current times.” The Ghana-born, London-bred, now Berlin-based producer’s research into afro-futurism, envisaging a path forward for science, technology and culture through the black experience, has impressed a deep vision on this EP. Yazzus sets like a cartographer, using her tracks to explore a technologically advanced world, each representing dierent regions and environments. Human Error Processor introduces an ear-worming percussion pattern nearly swamped by distorted bass drums and a vocal sample screwed just beyond recognition. Perforated leads with a 150bpm four to the floor stomp, infectious and supercharged. Gluey synth motions soak in an otherworldliness, where industrious, mechanical rhythms map out futurist structures in all directions. Metro City Bay Area exhibits a ghettotech soul, lean and bouncy - this part of the galaxy is an infinite source of fun, with the heart of groove at it’s core. Three Deities brings adventurers of its region towards higher powers, its ravey synths and an engulfing bass provoke a complete NRG release, ascending into a spiritual trance where dense melodies bubble and fizz. Digital-only track United By Fate meddles busy vocal samples with searching melodies, a fitting end to the kaleidoscopic that is Black Metropolis.

Marcela Dias Sindaco's music captures the essence of Gated as a label, sitting half way between so many genres: bass-heavy electro, funky breaks, squelchy synth-boogie... but driven by Marcela's breathy Portuguese vocals, expressing the depths of her carioca soul. Marcela grew up in Rio de Janeiro, and as a classically trained pianist and cellist, music was in her blood, but it was her dad's obsession with Krautrock that influenced her early music taste. Later, travelling around Europe as a model, she discovered the clubs of Berlin, Paris and Milan and incorporated what she heard into her own music, using a studio filled with analogue equipment. Alonzo / Nick Klein / Naeem / Heidi Sabertooth / Ssps / Douce Angoisse. This is Lost Soul Enterprises big 15th release on wax, a tidy compilation of off-kilter dance floor cuts and misfit synthpunk anthems.

Side A commences with the gothic, neon-soaked Miami bass of ALONZO's "Cruising with Pap," featuring sinister verses delivered by a shadowy syrupsipping secret guest vocalist. Up next is bucking bronco Nick KLEIN's slow-mo industrial headbanger "Posture Test. The sonic equivalent of a sweat-soaked concrete floor, it lurches along at its own mechanical pace amid the metallic hiss and howl. Lastly, wild synth lines and ethereal dubbed-out samples dart in and out over a tough, punchy rhythmic foundation in NAEEM's "TLX," an android's sci-fi electro vision gone haywire.

On the B side, Heidi SABERTOOTH's "Was It You" launches us deep into chugging acidic territory, combining enigmatic spoken vocals and a psychedelic, slowly evolving Sh-101 line over a persuasive groove. Like a slap in the face after that comes raucous synth-punk powerhouse Ssps with "Paradise Lozt," raw as fuck, chanting a litany of dystopian tales atop pumping drums and a wash of demented organ-like synth stabs. Finally we close with the short but powerful "New Vape City" by the nomadic Douce Angoisse - an absolute earworm, a doleful coldwave ballad whose lush production plays perfect counterpoint to the icy, deadpan sentiments within.

Grinding his gears hard on this toxic two-tracker, old man Bintus throws down a barbaric acid gauntlet; guaranteed to satiate the inner panel beater in even the most battle-hardened rave warrior.

In true Power Vac tradition Bintus bows out with a brace of scree-face electro grinds. "Rag It!" gets medieval on your ass then quits the scene in a wheel spin of cosmic dust; leaving your brain to cessate in rapturous turmoil. Millennium Speaker Stand slaps a gutsy acid line against a pock-marked 7/8 beat, while in the background the fabric of society breaks down - a not unwelcome aural distraction in these turbid times.

So, enjoy one last night ride thru babylon with Thee Prince of The Retail Park. As the tyre smoke recedes we are left in a haze of joy, sensory disorientation and the hope that visionary lunatics like Bintus will continue to rescue our souls from the stasis grip of consensus reality that threatens to consume us all.
