Mainrecords is back with the long awaited "Radiation Dance EP" by co-labelowner Matthias Schildger.

The EP opens with “Global Thunder”, a mind-bending techno synth-wave track that slowly crescendos into an epic, nostalgic journey of cinematic, futuristic distress. On the B-side is “Living Nightmare”, a moody fusion of eccentric analog sounds, swinging percussion, and acid techno sequences, followed by “Sunfall”, an ode to eternal night where sinister synths and gloomy pads lurk in the shadows, setting the stage for an enigmatic techno-wave excursion.

German artist Martin Matiske’s start in music came at the hands of the legendary DJ Hell, who invited him to his first DJ gigs in 1999 at one of his Gigolo label nights in Munich. His own productions, inspired by early electronic pioneers like Kraftwerk and Jean Michel Jarre, soon followed on International Deejay Gigolo Records, as have many more since on Frustrated Funk, Bordello A Parigi, Moustache Records and Central Processing Unit. Matiske has had high-profile support from the likes of Dave Clarke and Helena Hauff, and this new EP for Brooklyn-based label Melodize is another one that will likely find wide acclaim.

The fantastic ‘Moments’ opens up with ice-cold snares and drum sounds that are backlit by celestial pads as retro-future synth work brings colour to this catchy and optimistic proto-electro groove. ‘Moments’ then gets a sublime remix treatment from the prolific and endlessly creative Legowelt, who has explored every different style possible under a myriad of aliases on a range of cult labels like Clone, LIES and Crème Organization. The Dutch maestro’s superb take on ‘Moments’ is an astral electro workout with killer acidic lines, squelchy bass and daubs of psychedelic colour.

On the flip, ‘Dimensional Space Travel’ is another cinematic electro journey that taps into the motorik tick of Kraftwerk with distinctive melodic phrasings, forming a playful call-and-response with the background chords. Closer ‘Analogue Being’ taps into early electro with lovably tinny rhythms and sugary, pixelated analogue chords that bring a sense of nostalgia and ruefulness.

area127 returns with a new 12"" gem - a collaboration by the duo Marmo. They deliver three original tracks filled with dynamic percussion, blending elements of ambient, IDM, and dance music. On the B side, three remixers — Tadan, Onohno, and Kaisei — take on club duties, ensuring all bases are covered. Welcome to a sonic journey of wonder.

Portuguese producer Mardel debuts on Carpet’s Circuits series with a tight set of modular jams. Precise, at times introspective but with a driving motor pulse underneath, the three electro tracks touch on acid and bass as they launch into space. For its part, the ten-minute lead track, ‘Ducks In A Pond’, is a dreamy dubby epic, full of surprising textures and watery flourishes.

Return To Disorder welcomes Evighet Records label head Marco Bruno for some brilliantly controlled sonic chaos on this new electro exploration. His Sharp Focus EP brings together ambient, breaks and techno to snappy electro rhythms of the sort that he has already showcased in style on labels such as Blueprint Records and Machine. This one opens with the sleek, future-facing and speedy sounds of 'Storyteller' before 'Values Over Ego' gets more textured and raw with knick-snapping hits and prying synth lines making for real turbulence. 'Twist Of Fate' is a jungle workout that ducks and dives on warped bass and 'Karmic Pattern' is a slow but textural and intense closer with rueful chords.

One mere year after their previous pitch-black sounding album Krypt, LA outfit Male Tears is back with a new full-length and – oh boy – everything is changed. The used-to-be duo is now a four piece with James Edward as the sole founding member remaining and apparently this new line-up helped the original vocalist to shapeshift again. Remember their very first debut album from 2021 and those dark synthpop sounds? With their upcoming fourth album (in only three years), this American electronic-pop act from Southern California doubles the stakes once again and where Krypt was all about being goth and gloomy and disturbingly paroxysmal, Paradisco is somehow quite the opposite. Eight new tracks of pure italo disco, hi-NRG and freestyle bliss that pick up where the band left off three years ago to pursue much darker realms. Now that the quest for darkness is done, it is time to polish our nails and dress up for the night-out cause there’s more in life than feeling sorry for yourself. Yes you will need to cut out the deadwood but there is no change in stillness. So join Male Tears and their new arsenal of bangers and floor fillers with assertive titles such as Out of my Life, Regret 4 Nothing and Leave it Alone. Balmat began our journey in 2021 with the release of Luke Sanger's Languid Gongue. Now, three years later, weturn an important corner as the Norfolk musician rejoins us with Dew Point Harmonics, the first repeatappearance on the label. Sanger's new album feels like a natural extension of his inaugural record for Balmat: It's a bewitching collection of esoteric synth sketches that slips unpredictably between consonant repetition, poignant melodies, and gnarled bursts of noise that catch in the ear like burrs in hiking socks. That natural metaphor is perhaps not accidental. Despite having been composed on Sanger's diverse array of hardware and self-written software, many of the tracks were first conceived while Sanger was hiking in a particularly wild and isolated section of the Norfolk coast. The field recording that opens the album, on "6am Beach Walk," was taken on one of his many early-morning walks there, in which he and his dog might go for miles without seeing another soul. The album's title was inspired by the overnight condensation covering the long marram grass in the dunes, glistening in the early light (and drenching everything coming in contact with it) before evaporating in the morning sun. Indeed, the concept of dew point--the temperature at which water vapor condenses into a liquid--feels like the perfect metaphor for Sanger's music, in which foggy ambience is distilled into glistening quicksilver orbs, transient spheres of perfection eventually absorbed back into the atmosphere. A shapeshifting collection of richly detailed and deeply expressive electronic miniatures, Dew Point Harmonics is both a testament to the mysteries of transformation and an invitation to get lost in the wilderness of your own imagination.

Almost exactly 30 years ago in 1994 Jamie Odell released his Loxodrome EP on legendary London label Jumpin & Pumpin, a release that has since gone onto receive a lot of love and attention and got reissued by Craigie Knowes sub label Wormhole Wisdom back in 2020. Fast forward three decades and Jamie aka Jimpster has decided to dust off his Loxodrome cap, and now we’re happy to present you with the fruits of his studio sessions in the form of The Drop Out EP.

The title track treads a much darker, more minimal path than we’re used to hearing on his Jimpster or Franc Spangler releases. Aimed fairly and squarely at the dance floor, Drop Out goes heavy on squelching, modular synth sequences which build around a stripped back jacking drum groove. Jamie’s trusty Juno 106 gets dusted off to provide the chunky bassline and ominous pads which are interjected with a trippy vocal sample and white noise fills.

Emberfall follows in fine style with saturated 808 drums and 303 acid line taking centre stage. Overall, an optimistic and uplifting atmosphere emits from the speakers, heightened by the Juno string chords, taking inspiration from classic 90’s Italian Dream House.

Flipping over we have a dub version of Emberfall which loses the pads and stabs in favour of dub delays and extra snare fills for a more impactful and minimal acidic club workout.

Closing out the EP things get lush as Jamie heads into deep, late night electro territory on Fornax A. Memories of Black dog and B12 are channeled through the layers of filtering synths and glitchy breakbeats and are inspired by his production approach and Atari ST running C-Lab Creator and Akai S900 - the tools at his disposal when producing his debut Loxodrome EP all those years ago.
