Dub Shepherds met Echo Minott in 2016 through the Dub Master Clash project, a dub evening concept that saw several dub producers “battle it out”. A solid friendship was born between the Jamaican and the young Clermont-Ferrand producers.

From these reverb and echo clashes came a 12” maxi, ‘This World is inna Mess’, etching in wax the first collaboration between Dub Shepherds and Echo Minott.

In 2023, Dr Charty and I Fi travel to Jamaica with a bag full of riddims produced at the Bat Records studio, and are greeted on the spot by Echo Minott. Get the picture? We’ll spare you the photos of the trip here, and just select the fruit of this musical journey : five tracks and five dubs between roots and 80’s rub a dub that make up the Mango Tree showcase. Two Flames Records, the record label that continues to set trends in Reggae music, is releasing their new single "Survival" a powerful collaboration with Azizzi Romeo, son of the legendary Jamaican artist Max Romeo.

Following the success of "Ruff & Tuff" with the iconic singer Winston Reedy, Two Flames Records is back with a new tune, "Survival". This song stands out for its explosive drum introduction by Joan Reggae Drummer, a very careful mix and production by Ireneu Grosset and the sweet voice of the young and talented Azizzi Romeo with his conscious message, which give it a fresh and modern vibe to the song alongside the house band Two Flames Syndicate.

Survival will be released in all digital platforms on October 25th and on 7" vinyl on November 1st.

Azizzi's Words: Survival to me is sheer grit and determination to overcome any obstacle that may arise along life's journey. I live by this saying; "No matter the obstacle, one must continue." So, survival is a mindset. You have to know yourself and know what you to achieve.

A very welcomed reissue for this rare Jackie Mittoo album, originally released in 1979 on unknown label, Rite Sound inc. The original release was sold without a jacket (maybe a promo only release ?), adding a mysterious vibe to the whole thing. The dubby effects-intensive sound of the album extends from ‘Russian Satelite’ to the whole side A, with ‘Harder Than The Rest’, ‘Stepping Tiger’ and ‘World Of Love’ being an excellent triptych of note. The thrill of Jackie's crazy keyboards intertwining with the floating dub sound like a heavenly space is beyond description. Space is the place.

"Heavy Soul", the collaborative EP by Blundetto and Liam Bailey, will be released on July 5, 2024. Liam Bailey, an artist from Big Crown and arguably the most impressive Reggae and Soul singer in London right now, joins Blundetto on this project, which consists of 5 vocal tracks and 4 dubs. Blending Roots and more contemporary sounds, Heavy Soul was completed at the end of 2023. Its message resonates even more in these noisy and confusing times, where the need for unity is more than just a punchline.

Frenchie King is a veteran artist and producer from the world of Reggae music. In 2023, he collaborated with The Blackstones and Iron Sound Records producer Alien Dread. This single is a roots vocal track backed by studio musicians Alvin Davis, Asha B, and Steven Wright.

After many years of artistic collaboration, the long-awaited album, KILLING TIME, bringing together London-based MC Killa P and Italian Bass music collective Numa Crew, has finally arrived.

Killa P, a name synonymous with potent lyricism and raw energy in the Grime scene, delivers a vocal masterclass throughout his debut long-player, soundtracked by the stellar production of the Numa Crew. Together they expertly navigate genres including dubstep, grime, dub, and jungle, while maintaining a distinct and cohesive musical identity.

Not simply a collection of individual tracks, Killing Time is a meticulously crafted journey through sound system music. There are no stylistic boundaries, as the long-player encompasses the entire musical spectrum that unites the Italian crew with the London-based MC, with Killa P free to showcase his evolution as an artist. Alongside them, the album also brings together a diverse cast of friends and collaborators, vocalists, and producers, each adding their own unique flavor.

From the pulsating dubstep-infused Boys in Blue, a searing commentary on social inequality, to the reggae-tinged steppa tune Love Inna We Heart featuring Charlie P and Long Range, a plea for unity and love, Killa P's lyrical dexterity shines.

Tracks such as Champion Sound, Badman City Pt.2 featuring the French Ragga legend Big Red, and No Laugh featuring Big Chain and Bristol’s Buggsy are a nod to Killa P's roots, beautifully showcasing his mastery of grime's signature sound, while the sped-up tempos of the Fleck collaboration Jungle Leng, and Can't Get Me Down featuring Ras Demo, inject a jolt of Junglist attitude. Different Life is a vibrant ‘carnival’ jam, that infuses grime and dancehall moods and sees the great Lady Lykez on the second verse.

The album wraps on a contemplative note with Dreaming, a collaboration with Abstract Sonance, and Heartless, featuring Killa’s son GK on production, revealing an introspective note that adds yet more depth to Killa P's artistry.

As the album’s second track, Family, proclaims: ‘man a deal with family, not friends’ - a fitting line to define the album as a whole… An ode to the unity and strength of family.
