The seventh release in the Secondary Series, Primary Colours welcomes all around deep and dub master from Scotland - Stillhead. We first came to know of Alex in the early 2000s and have followed his music under several monikers ever since. Stillhead o?ers us three orginal cuts for this six track EP with remix support from the one and only Mike Schommer and label heads Echo Inspectors plus a beatless rework of Recreation Beats. This release seamlessly blurs genre lines, merging dub-techno with elements of bass, downtempo, deep-house, and ambient influences. The result is a release that feels familiar yet enigmatic, while simultaneously forging a unique and attractive fusion of styles. Stillhead is a master of his craft, and we are very pleased to bring this release to life with a heavy-weight 12Inch press and availability on digital outlets.

Filipovich is one of a kind. The Belarus-born, Paris-based artist works in a multitude of media - found footage films, painting, silkscreening and performance to name a few. It's her musical output that has caught the attention of late, though, with Filipovich dropping a run of releases in recent years which began with 2021's Magnificat on Time Released Sound. Filipovich takes as much of a novel approach to her music-making as she does with her other artistic endeavours - Magnificat was centred around treated samples of Sergei Rachmaninov's All-Night Vigil, and she's also combined classical composition with contemporary electronic techniques on her subsequent drops.
For Idealized, Filipovich's debut on Sheffield's Central Processing Unit, she maintains the gothic air which characterised her previous releases and applies it to a record of widescreen contemporary techno joints. These tracks represent something of a gear shift for CPU, a label which has long made its name by delivering top-quality electro and machine-funk jams, but such is the quality of Idealized that these superbly-executed techno productions are sure to win over label fans both old and new.
Idealized is very much schooled in the German tradition of minimal/dub techno. Tracks like 'Physical', 'Wave' and 'Dance Minor' all anchor themselves on single, steady drum pulses and delay-drenched single-chord loops. Filipovich generally lets the central idea of these tracks play out across several minutes while introducing increasingly disorientating elements into the rest of the mix - wiccan atmospherics, clashing chords, spiralling delays and so forth. It's an approach at once respectful of Filipovich's predecessors - Basic Channel, Deepchord, Ellen Allien and so on - but also full of idiosyncrasies and individuality.
Many of the club cuts here hardwire us into the moody, murky environs of the darkest Berlin Basements. 'Ultra Red' rides forward on a crisp drum machine snap, a menacing burble of bassline and an eerie single-note synth whistle in the upper end of the mix; 'Dance Minor' shows off a bit of KiNK in the brain-bending modular loop that waxes and wanes at its centre; the second-half run from 'Wave' to closer 'Small Cave' travels ever-further out into deep space - the kick drums remain insistent, yet the textural elements are delivered with an edge and flair that evidences Filipovich's ability to think outside the box.
Filipovich's unusual methods, and the influence of sound art and electroacoustic composition on her music, are drawn out further when Idealized steps away from the dancefloor. 'Hydra' comes off like a more gothic version of Pole - its central pulse draws from dub techno but never quite settles into a danceable groove, and this beat is combined with the kind of unnerving keyboard work that would make John Carpenter proud. Although closer 'Small Cave' eventually locks into another dark-room techno roller, the opening section of the track delivers a weightless soundscape of bright, tinny chords and a scene-setting field recording.
Idealized, the first drop on Central Processing Unit from Paris-based Belarusian Lina Filpovich, broadens the label's horizons with a selection of finely crafted minimal/dub techno joints.

Wanderwelle is the Amsterdam-based ambient duo of Phil van Dulm & Alexander Bartels, who mint their Maalstrom label with Wat Gebeurde Er Met Sergeant Massuro?, a concept album based around Harry Mulisch's 1957 story of the same name (What Happened To Seagent Massuro?). The story weaves anti-colonial concepts with mythical realist elements, and is sonically brought to life here through atmospheric electronics and prepared instruments. A moody, resonant and ultimately deep groundswell of an album, one that compels the listener to venture ever further into the a spine-tingling heart of darkness.

Malmö’s Mod Sens arrives on Programm LDN with an electric intersection of soundsystem styles and taut techno and electro. Pushing inventive, bassweight dance music through his Melt club night in the city he calls home, the wildly talented Swedish producer brings an international outlook to his subtly crafted workouts.

“These four tracks were all made at a time in Malmö when electro was completely dominating the underground scene,” says Mod Sens. “That had a strong influence on the creation of these tracks, but I was definitely more urgent to create my take on ‘uk’ Sounds.”

The sound on Misperceptions EP is introspective by design, cast in melancholic pads which balance the rugged impact of the crafty drums and upfront low-end. Mod Sens himself describes exploring the tension between wanting to run and feeling ‘stuck’, and that yearning sensation culminates in four elevated cuts that uphold Programm’s commitment to advancements in club music.

Visual director Blackwall and graphic designer Alfie Allen responded to the tangible mood of the EP, resulting in an accompanying visualiser and sleeve design which round out the emotion Mod Sens was reaching for while working on the music. As a complete package, it’s an audio-visual statement which leaves a lingering impression, as any art worth making

As deep as it comes, two unwinding cuts of beautiful deep house.. In practice, the threshold for self-informed decoupling from said abuse is often socially out of reach for those that have in fact been abused, both physically and/or psychologically. We feel shame for even entertaining the idea of getting rid of people in our lives that are joined to us by blood. Instead of genuine mutually-assured connection, we feel duty-bound to them - no better than a minimum wage retail job without which we would become homeless. Had these people been anything other than family, we would have ditched them long ago. I encourage a decoupling from the family unit and giving up on any hope you had for improved relations. This record has been mastered without compression in an attempt to counter the over saturation of three minute, brick-walled, max-energy production trends in contemporary dance music.

Scottish Techno wizard Astro joins Piff Records on their landmark tenth release, with 5 cosmic and groovy belters.

Having recently found success with his own Neptune Discs imprint and regularly performing up and down the country, Astro has firmly established himself as one to watch in the techno sphere. Opening with the title track, Astro combines a relentless bassline with dubbed-out chords and spacey leads. Echoing space-age soundscapes and futuristic sounds of 70s kosmische musik and 90s techno, Astro makes good on the aesthetic promised by his artist name.

Astro brings down the tempo for the hypnotic Cloned Substance. A mesmerising hat pattern combines with delay-drenched leads and a bouncy bassline to create a track intent on capturing the listener in a state of trance.

Thunderstorm adheres to the tried-and-tested Astro combination of a thick bassline, spacey stabs, and continuously evolving drums. As to be expected, the results are spectacular. Irresistible grooves and rich soundscapes are the order of the day as Astro delivers once again.

A haunting and proggy FM-lead acts as the foundation for Pluto, underpinned by a sub-heavy kick and tranquil chords. The meditative ebb and flow of various elements masterfully expresses the solitude of the track’s namesake.

As one has come to expect from a Rising Sun release ‘The Eternal’ has a firm foundation in emotive melodies and atmospherics across six alternate versions. ‘Eternal 1’ leads with muted drums, fluttering stabs and a preaching spoken word vocal. ‘Eternal 2’ edges into darked realms, merging expansive dub echoes with swelling subs and tension building strings before ‘Eternal 3’ dives head first into ethereal hypnotism via unfurling textures, soft stab sequences and a rounded kick. ‘Eternal 4’ opens the B-side with a subtly unfolding construction as vocals, chords and swinging drums run in unison. ‘Eternal 5’ then strips things back to a gritty statured feel with boomy percussion, enchanting strings and nuanced stabs before ‘Eternal 6’ rounds out the release laying down murky, multilayered pads, widely dispersing reverberations and bubbling delays throughout.

With Bc001 we introduce Ṣonuga aka Femi Shinuga-Fleming. A NYC based techno producer and DJ with Nigerian and Caribbean roots and an extensive background in live experimental electronic music. Ṣonuga is interested in the intersections of deep textural soundscapes, layered percussion and shuffled rhythms. His debut EP, 'Airing' explores themes of sound and space influenced by his architectural studies, while also exploring and paying homage to contemporary dub techno. Bc001 is due out February 26th 2024.

There's seemingly no end to the mind-blowing vaults of UK tech house titan Mark Ambrose. Even after the extensive three-volume run of reissues on Repeats, Rawax have found more of the South Coast legend's late 90s material that hasn't been reissued yet. Sharks be damned, the Cat Groove 12" is back within reach and remastered to bring the best out of the tracks. The title track is one of those artfully squashed, funk loop-riding jams that turns the heat up without any need for studio showboating - just the right ingredients. 'Floating Around' is a heady tripper crying out for the morning, while 'Hook Up' finds another soulful lick to place at the centre of a groove so crunchy it just has to come from an MPC. Hold tight for 'Warehouse Blues', which injects some nasty, pumping techno energy into the mix with a metallic bassline that comes on like Mr Fingers dipped in chrome.

By inviting Dariusz Dudziński (drummer of the legendary Polish indie band Ewa Braun, currently Titanic Sea Moon) to participate in the recordings, the Normal Bias musicians create a symbolic loop centered on the hometown of all three artists - Słupsk - the place where it all began, where Tomek and Darek years ago they shared their bands' rehearsal space in the famous "independent garage" - a city whose spirit naturally became the leitmotif of the entire "lp3".

The album was mixed again by the duo themselves under the reliable supervision of Kwazar, and the mastering (including cutting the lacquer!) was entrusted to Stefan Betke - co-founder of the famouse ~scape label from Berlin, which can also be treated as a symbol. The graphics based on Martiszu's design were completed by a Znajomy Grafik.

From the old demo music vaults of Yagya, we found this amazing dub techno track dating back 15 years to the summer of 2008! Directly at the first listen we knew that this had to be fully released, Yagya was quick to agree, and also delivered 2 remixes himself and added another one from Octal Industries which resulted in a dub techno jam made in heaven!

The Equations Collective is an experimental sound project formed by a multi-disciplinary group of artists, active in the fields of music, photography, sound design & software development.
In 2018, the collective set up a temporary outdoor recording studio, 1130 meters above sea level, on the slopes of Mount Helicon in Greece, with the ambition of recording their work in a natural environment. Situated in Boeotia, Central Greece, Mount Helicon has a prominent archaic significance. A historic location where stories of sacred springs and the epic origins of the Muses and Narcissus converge. Steeped in the heritage of ancient narratives, Helicon is seen as a principal symbol of poetic inspiration.
On the 'Helicon Sessions' the collective draw upon the inspiring topography and fabled mythological resonances of the area, unfurling an expansive, hypnotic suite of abstract electronics. Liberated by an open-ended, improvisational dynamic, the collective move through a mysterious, elemental cycle that mirrors the imposing scale and dramatic atmospheres of the setting.
Across an entrancing, fluid sequence of five designated 'cuts', the collective traverse the borderlands of drone, techno, dub, and acid, amplifying the acoustic traces of Helicon by integrating field recordings collected at the site into this arresting body of work. With these recordings, the collective delineate an odyssey of subverted 303s, sputtering drum machines and formidable, oscillating low end that drifts and coalesces like an amorphous mirage; a spellbinding sound world of clarity and shadow.

The outcome of this project illustrates a unique collaborative exchange which acknowledges the deep nuances of environment and the enduring echoes of history.
The Equations Collective is a collaboration between Artefakt, Aroma Pitch, Aphelion and Sphera De Noumenon across Berlin, Amsterdam, Cologne and Hamburg. Together they have established an all night long live event in Berlin, starting at Sameheads and Acud Macht Neu, which eventually lead to their residency at OHM (Tresor).
For this format they have collaborated with the following artists: Alex The Fairy, Anna Z, D-ix, Eliad Wagner, Jón Friđgeir Sigurđsson, Orson Wells, Phillip Jondo, Philipp Matalla, Prsmc, Rabih Beaini, Sabrina Gricourt, Sébastien Robert, and Vida Vojić.

In order to enjoy this masterpiece, we recommend to snort a big line of that “Digital Dust”. “Family Biz” is taking a more laidback and broken beat direction. Dense percussions, intricate harmonies and a lot of soul and jazz vibes are hidden in this gem. Geez, this is so damn gorgeous. “ath” ends this formidable EP. Again, no club inspired vibes (cos clubs are closed anyway, right?) pulsating out Mackson’s snyths, instead a more abstract broken beat crawling into our ears. Now, In Love is re-released with some excellent additions as a new 4-track 12in EP 300 limited run. Four tracks that mix Techno/Deep House groove with rock-solid bass, Spaced-out Dub, Detroit and Acid influences, all uniquely Vertical Cat. In Love is a deep spacious roller with a delicious bassline and dubbed-out fx. Snow Creatures is deeper still, more Electro but still solid and spaced-out as f. Vade Mecum returns with yet another amazing release by Matt & Mark Thibideau. "We dedicate this record to our late friend Mike Huckaby and his love for the Waldorf Wave synthesizer. Mark and I met Mike Huckaby back in the mid 90?s and instantly connected over our love of synthesizers, producing Techno, Deep House and Dub Techno. We performed together at parties throughout the 90?s and 2000?s. It was always a dream for us all to work with the Waldorf Wave. Mark and I both had experience using their other wavetable synthesizers. One day we received a surprise call from Mike, he had purchased the Wave. Mike wanted to complete an EP that he used the Wave to make all of the sounds. He started some ideas and drove the Wave up to our studio in Toronto to complete and mix the ideas with us. ?My Life with the Wave? was born. Mike continued this project to include an elaborate collection of samples that he made of his patches. We were shocked to learn of Mike?s passing and wanted to do something to keep the love and passion of his music alive. Transfer is a project that utilizes some sounds from the Waldorf Wave collection along with some of the other Waldorf synths Mike also enjoyed working with (Microwave, XT and Blofeld). Altone has been on our radar for quite some time now, following his progress with releases on fellow dub labels ETUI, Greyscale, Hello Strange, Ranges, SPCLNCH, Apnea and Cold Tear. We were presented with these cuts of dub over a year ago, waiting for the right opportunity to release these weapons upon the world, a world ready for change, thought, progress and understanding. Altone presents three cuts of pure deep dub. Altone presents Effuse, Slight Pain and Grain. Choosing the right person to do justice with a remix was a difficult process. We scoured the planet to find the right producer to compliment and do honor to the beautiful original that is Effuse. A man no stranger to our family, we welcome Upwellings for his debut on Primary [colours]. Upwellings remix takes the elements of the original and fuses them together with a hypnotic, low end driven masterpiece. A track for the early mornings, among the late night warriors. 2021 is the start of a new chapter and Primary [colours] is pleased to be back presenting tunes of depth and feeling to the new world. Jochem Peteri comes drifting back into earshot with some new Nwaq tackle in tow. Beyond the plentiful reissues of his timeless earlier works, Peteri is just as productive in the here and now. Now he’s minting a new label with three pieces that embellish the Nwaq soundworld with a fresh slant. ‘Above II’ is a crystal clear beam of light strapped to a kick that trips over itself with grace and poise. It’s forthright and yet wholly untethered, a pre-echo for the anchorless expanse of ‘Above I’, which buries some heavy bass ruminations very far down in the mix. That leaves it to ‘Dume’ to come staggering out all bleary-eyed, caked in last night’s distortion and yet still exuding a cracked beauty that stands up to the first light of dawn. The artwork which adorns this record is by environment sculpting internet artist Jan-Robert Leegte. Nwaq has always stood for a kind of environmental immersion, and this new emission compounds that idea in three distinct, refreshing ways.

Techno isn’t a genre that has birthed many consistent albums, and the dub techno subgenre even less so, but one indisputable classic is Porter Ricks’ debut ‘Biokinetics’. Originally issued on the legendary Basic Channel sub-label Chain Reaction in 1996 following a trio of 12″s, ‘Biokinetics’ was the first of the label’s album releases, and still stands as its crowning achievement. Porter Ricks are Thomas Köner and Andy Mellwig, and between them they re-framed the techno sound, imbuing the spacious ambience pioneered by label bosses Mark Ernestus and Moritz Von Oswald with a frosty, isolated experimental bent, and combining it with the sort of haunted minimalism of early Plastikman. What separated ‘Biokinetics’ from other albums at the time was its unwavering narrative - the exact sound has been interpreted countless times since, but the immersive qualities of this singular record have rarely been touched. Maybe it is down to the silvery underwater concept that ties each track together - the bubbling pads, sub-aquatic basses and muffled kick drums. But as with any great album, it’s hard to exactly put your finger on what makes it a classic. Simply put ‘Biokinetics’ is one of the most important records in the genre and one of techno’s finest albums. It has been re-released ten years ago by Type Records, and now Mille Plateaux is celebrating Porter Ricks’ and Biokinetics’ 25th anniversary with this sumptuous double viny edition.

Following on from the success of 2020's 'Inside' EP on Livity Sound and previous releases on UK labels Cong Burn and Blank Mind, Manchester's Lack returns to Livity Sound with a brand new EP of hybridised and dubbed techno cuts. “I wanted to try and create a sense of space or calm within the tracks, even if only subtle. I suppose it was a reflection on the crazy state of the world and needing to find space within myself to stay grounded and get through it”. From the deep bass and irresistible skank of Grapefruit to the rapid yet ice cool propulsion of Microshift and the spacious yet energised rhythms of Make It Circular and Constant, this new record further explores Lack's fractured techno aesthetic, skilfully joining the dots between broken dub techno and vintage dubstep. Livity Sound is a label set up by Peverelist in 2011 as a vehicle for a raw and exploratory strain of UK techno, rooted in the heritage of UK dance music and sound system culture. It has since become one of the UK's foremost protagonists for cutting edge underground electronic music.

Following up to Rob Belleville's inaugural delivery, Fluid Electronics returns in 2021 with a new collaborative EP courtesy of Dutch veteran Jarno, the man behind Trouw's infamous Below evenings, and Fluid Electronics' co-founder and owner Shirazi, back in full swing after a ten-year break from production. The EP features remixes from Amsterdam's Love Over Entropy and seminal Rotterdam-based duo, Duplex. The A-side finds Shirazi and Jarno dishing out a vaporous dub with the focus track, "Late Night Thoughts". Engineering a mix of reverb-drenched atmospheric techno laced with hedonistic house accents and mystique-imbued melodies on a dreamy tip. Upping the tempo and overall vibe of the track, Love Over Entropy's remix propels its listener in a blazing corridor of synth arpeggios and luminous chords. The flip side sees Shirazi go solo on the ethereal "Continue Learning", all in evocative spaciousness and textural finesse, as it merges the immersive depth of Basic Channel-esque envelopes with further straightforward floor dynamics. Clone-affiliated duo Duplex provides a tighter, jacking match to the original's vaster headspace, tweaking it into a proper clinical club-ready weapon.

Fractions return to Fleisch for a third time with their debut LP, unleashing eight tracks of highly effective techno-infused body music inspired by the melodrama of French films such as La Haine and Irreversible. With a palette of modernized 90s rave elements they transport the listener on a cinematic ride of contrasts between the explosive and the soothing, through violence and action to love and hope. After six years in the making between Malmö and Berlin, Per Hammar presents his first studio album on his Dirty Hands imprint. Pathfinder LP is designed for the dance floor and represents the evolution of one of Sweden’s finest artists from his musical beginnings in 2004 to the current day. Per Hammar has been associated with labels such as Infuse, Constant Sound, Malin Génie Music and Berg Audio to name a few. Always inspired by music where melody is the focus, he notes his subconscious as being an inspiration for his productions. Over the last 15 years, his material has featured influences from dub to video game scores, and trance to happy hardcore, but on his Dirty Hands productions it’s been dub that’s held centre focus.

O$vmv$m the Bristol based production duo of Amos Childs (Jabu) and Sam Barrett (Kahn & Neek) have traditionally dealt in hazy, smoked out vignettes - seen across release for Idle Hands, No Corner and most recently providing music for the Manonmars LP. Where the duos previous work has explored ideas in short bursts which capture you then fades away; Idle063 takes their sound into unexplored directions and shows an evolution in their output. By extending their ideas into long form tracks within the traditional lineage of bristol soundsystem culture and combining it with their unique ear for sampling Phase 4 / Witch brings O$vmv$m's into a territory which shows how wide their sound can truly reach

Southern Lights celebrates its 5th anniversary with the first of two EP’s showcasing various artists titled “Charged Particles”. Charged particles is a metaphor taken from the Aurora Australis wonder, where charged particles from the sun enter the atmosphere on the poles and create the Aurora phenomenon. Creating the sonically charged particles for Volume 1 are 18 Figures, Cliche Morph, Bastian Balders and Shoal: a unified course that traverses across glacial textures, metallic soundscapes and sonic expeditions.

Babe Roots & Another Channel join forces with Danish label Echocord with four dubbed out cuts titled, ‘Takeover’. Turin based artist, Babe Roots’ catalogue has seen a steady growth since he started out in 2016 with releases on French label Linear Movement, Portland dub label ZamZam Sounds and Rohs! Records. ‘Takeover’ sees him team up with Another Channel, an up and coming German producer with records on Transient Audio and Modern Hypnosis. After a successful summer for Echocord with albums from Silent Harbour aka Conforce and Idealist, the label continues 2018 with consistently intriguing output from artists across the electronic music spectrum. ‘Takeover (intro)’ kicks off the pack by delivering a minute of spaced-out, dub-tinged atmospheres to ease you in. ‘Can’t See’ then provides a pitched-down, meditative ambience peppered with deep, sedative reggae drums, calming synth flutters and an enchanting vocal. Next, ‘Money Run Things’ sustains the mellow moods, spirited chants and stirring flourishes of dubby vibrations. To finish, ‘Get You Down’ offers a meditative, dropped- tempo dub-techno track – with sound system culture, dispersed grooves and undulating minimalism becoming the main focus here.

IRENICSPC002 brings us two new tracks by Bas Amro, best known for his releases on Freerange Records and Wolfskuil Records. For this EP he takes an unusual straight-forward approach; ‘Chained’ is a driving dub track with beautiful chords, while ‘Nearing’ leans towards the deeper side of the techno spectrum. With both tracks being very suitable for the dancefloor, the b-side finds label boss Roger Gerressen changing pace, delivering a remix for the early hours.

The incomparable Deepchord is back on Soma and drops the first single from forthcoming album, Auratones due in October. As is expected from the Detroit based sound designer, the Campfire EP is everything we have come to know and admire about his productions; from the spaced out, ambient sound fields to classic Dub Techno.

Perfumes Of A Spring Mist delicately opens this latest EP with entrancing, processed soundscapes, beautifully haunting melody and simple rhythmic elements than seem to evolve naturally allowing you to get lost in the sea of vibrations. Xpan leans on the more classic Dub Techno sound from Deepchord of years passed. Sub heavy beats and jagged yet tranquil synths sweep across the palette as Deepchord plays with constantly fluctuating chords, bringing the quintessential 90s Deep Techno into his more modern, processed sound. Title track Campfire brings ambience to the forefront to close out the EP. Melancholic synth elements drift across an expanse of refined and uniquely crafted field recordings, offering an insight into the areas from which Deepchord draws his inspiration.

Once again Deepchord proves to be one of the most visionary artists the electronic world has seen.

Over the five years since “Music For The Quiet Hour”, Vengeance’s vocal and lyrical range has rolled out across this new terrain. Throughout these six transmissions he’s hoarse preacher, sage scholar and ravaged bluesman; blind man marching off to war, and exhausted time-traveller warning of impending socio-ecological catastrophe.
Six dialogic accounts of our conflicted times, then, expanding beyond the treacly unease of the duo’s early collaborative work into something subtler and more emotionally shattering — its shades of brightness more dazzling, and its darkness even murkier.

There's also 2 beautiful remixes from the brilliant Rod Modell (DeepChord), those touched by his recent output on Soma will have a lot to love here. Gorgeous plumes of sound all lovely mastered and mixed down from 1/4" analog tape, cut and remastered by bazza (Abbey Road Studios) at Alchemy, London. Sublime and beyond deep, another exquisite excursion transmitting from the other side of the galaxy. Pressed onto 160 gram crystal clear wax.

Soundscape Versions presents the 2023 repress edition of debut 12" showcase on sublabel Mystic Versions with four unknown Techno cuts by different artists from across the globe produced and performed by using analog hardware gear originally released in 2016. For the second effort on his very own Oblique imprint, Ben Buitendijk returns to the sound he's only showcased through his well received Promised Land (Mosaic) and a recent remix through Subwax.

This more dubby approach is the general thread in the sophomore Oblique release called ''Past and Present EP''. Generally, this release is threading into deeper territories than it's predecessor but is therefor revealing different sides of the label owner's taste that are maybe being underexposed thus far.

A re-work by Mark Ernestus of the opener of Honest Jons' new LP by the Obadikah brass band, from Lagos. Consummate Berlin dub science by the maestro. Beautifully textured, shuffling Lagos funk, on home-made percussion… militant, parping horns... and a walloping, filthy-stinking kick-drum like the bucking, hairy hind-most of the Devil himself.

It's in the depths of the oceans that PierroX finds his inspiration for this ambient music. He uses natural sounds (like whale songs for example) to take us on an abyssal trip between purity and aggression. Two talented producers, Nutia (German) and Shcaa (English) take us back to the surface with their minimal Tech-House remix.

The mix of Dub and Techno is not exactly new. However, JPatterson found a way to combine these genres in a way that checks all the boxes to be classified as fresh and exciting. His rustic Prog-a-Dub grooves burst with reckless danceability, the sound of his tumpet has an emotional intensity that simply doesn’t exist in the digital music domain. But the catchiest element of his track Elevator is yet another one: It’s his voice and its contagious casualness. The Dub Version of this track is a bright summer day turned into rhythm and melody. It gets even more exciting than this, as a hand-selected group of party heads from the Acker family has remixed Elevator. Timboletti turned it into a slow, delirious afterhour groove (digital only). Dole & Kom redesigned it into an understated anthem. And Mollono.Bass created an energetic rhythm environment for the weightless trombone that feels like it’s vibrating right in middle between the original and the Dub Version of Elevator.

Atmospheric Vol 2 is the second single to be taken from Deepchord's latest full length but sees him stray from the album tracks, bringing 3 exclusive pieces to the vinyl, keeping in the same musical vein as Ultraviolet Music.

Exploring the North & Pinewood Lodge see Rod Modell on more Deep Techno excursions as beautifully sweeping pads and glistening synths drift by ever evolving, perfectly processed atmospheres. Deepchord's unique use of subtle field recordings throughout give both of these tracks a real heady/druggy quality and his seamless loops allow you to drift of into his fully developed dream world. Shot Point delves into straight up ambient territory with Deepchord striking an unearthly balance between the natural and synthetic world. Yet more flawlessly collected field recordings wash away on an ocean of reverb soaked pads, drowning the listener within its mesmerising tides.
