Circuits follows - a pure anthem for the convoys of cars, filled with weekend warriors riding their first chemical waves. The release moves through the emotions and sounds that ZC are about - building off their hardcore style breaks and moving between touching melodies, wiggling 303 lines, guttural low end frequencies and spacious hardware reverbs are a constant theme in ZC’s work. Atoms to Atoms is designed to take you through to the iconic spaces and movements of a transcendent party experience - from the inner city warehouses that set the scene for Breach all the way to the energy of abandoned northern English factories and mills, rusted and empty like on Northern Fury. It’s a timely reminder of the sheer heights of joy and ecstasy that UK dance music culture was designed for produced and presented in an expert package.

‘Feed Me Weird Things’ was Squarepusher’s debut album. Released on 3rd June 1996 by Rephlex Records (jointly run by Richard D James and Grant Wilson Claridge). Tom had previously released the Conumber EP (as Squarepusher) and Alroy Road Tracks (as the Duke of Harringay) on the newly formed Spymania label the year before. The album was preceded by the Squarepusher Plays EP in May of 1996 also on Rephlex. The extra tracks from this EP not on the original album made up the Japanese bonus tracks when it was released there and will be included in our reissue.

The album was a key release for Rephlex and has gone on to be regarded as one of Squarepusher’s best. It marked a time of strong influence and although they wouldn’t have used the term, led to the sub-genre of Drill n Bass.

Tom’s strong jazz influences and virtuoso bass playing come to the fore on this album setting it apart from his contemporaries.

The album including all bonus tracks has been remastered by Matt Coulton at Alchemy.

The Last Ronin project was born from the encounter of 2 minds, geographically far but so close ideologically. It was a simple idea at first: 'Why don’t we put some beats up, sample some bits, and mix it up with nowadays sounds and technology and see what comes up?’ That’s basically how ‘Sleepers’ was born. This double EP is a recognition of the Syko & Mak era and those who used to come to the shops just to hang out and listen to the latest white labels. It includes remasters of 3 of those original tracks from 1992 as well as 5 previously unreleased tracks from 95/96. The 3 original tracks on this EP spark some of those best memories. Including hearing Grooverider play the first test press of "Here & Now'' at the Fantazia Rave at Castle Donnington. Standing at the back and watching the 28,000 crowd lose their heads to our track was unforgettable ! Trading DATs with LTJ Bukem. He'd travel up to Hitchin on a Sunday just to share music, "Journey into the Nebulous" was the first track we gave him. The first play of "Rough & Dangerous"... A hazy memory of an Exodus rave in a wooded enclave somewhere near Luton. Unforgettable memories.

For Hooversound’s ninth release, Sherelle and Naina welcome San Francisco-based DJ and producer Chrissy to the family for the label’s debut album release. Coming out on the 27th October, ‘Physical Release’ blends elements of ravey techno, house, and jungle that have run through his previous work. The final result is an exploration of what our scene’s physical spaces mean and how they feed into themes of politics, family, connection and joy.

Speaking about the album Chrissy says, ​​"These songs were inspired by our scene's physical spaces: the warehouses, clubs, record stores, late night cafes, lofts, and friends' living rooms that let us connect to each other, experience the joy and wonder of dance music culture, and find our family.

I've seen these spaces gradually decimated by cops, property developers, cynical corporate brand partners, irresponsible promoters, and a global pandemic. The end result is a dance music culture that feels more online and disconnected, culminating in over a year without any physically shared spaces. Encouragingly, I've seen many in our community finally acknowledge a painful reality: our scene has failed to live up to its utopian ideals, and to protect, value, and uplift all of our peers. No matter how fondly we remember our first raves, the culture was and is broken, and it's our job to fix it.

So while this album may feel like a paean to a bygone era, it is more a reflection of optimism about the future: a hope that we can rebuild our scene and our communal physical spaces with better priorities and better values, so that everybody can experience the euphoria, joy, transcendence, and physical release of the dancefloor."

The album opens with a quote from artist, author, and transgender activist Edie Fake, who also designed the artwork for ‘Physical Release’. A fellow Chicago-to-California transplant, Edie’s previous work has dealt largely with physical spaces, including historical queer nightlife spaces.

First up is the return of Suburban Base recording artist Cool Hand Flex, who had music featured on the first generation SUBPlates! The track here 'Get Down' is a piece of uncovered treasure that has been rediscovered having sat on DAT master in storage since around 1994 and never been released. Exclusively held on dubplate by Randell, Hype, and Flex himself, it is finally getting a release as part of this special package.

Next up we introduce brand new music from brand new Suburban Base recording artist Sound Shifter collaborating with the legend Marvellous Cain on the beautiful 'Light Source One', a rolling piece of DnB which manages to keep classic elements of production whilst at the same time delivering stunningly fresh Drum & Bass.

Subbase veterans Sophisticated Bad Boyz open record 2 with the DJ Phantasy VIP '94 Dubplate version of 'Feel The Magic', only held on Dub Plate by a very select few, and appeared only once on the D&B selection album 3 (The Dub Plate Selection) with very limited vinyl of that cut as 5 tracks per side, now for the first time ever you can get this stunningly remastered dubplate cut on a side all by itself sounding truly amazing.

Flipped with another much sought after classic dubplate special 'Intelone' by Asend was a Kool FM only VIP Dubplate around the time Asend aka Dead Dred hosted his show on the Midlands version of the infamous pirate radio station, it made only one appearance on a 1996 Kool FM dubplate special project and has been hard to find ever since. Remastered and sounding incredible!

The debut album from BCee gets a repackage for it’s 10th anniversary. All 15 tracks have been re-mastered for vinyl and combined in one place.

Freiburg based Italian stallion Enea releases his 2nd longplayer "Overview" on his own, soulful South-German imprint, Beatalistics Records.

The 10 track album once again showcases the versatile background of the former Bass-Player, who grew up on the picturesque Lake Constance. Having been a familiar name in the international Drum'n Bass scene for more than a decade, Enea now also takes us beyond the classic 170+ bpm rhythm structures to give us a proper "Overview" of his musical philosophy.

Comprising his typical softer rolling, Liquid based tunes like "Wonders" featuring label partner MC Fava, "Earthrise" with "Freebird" or "Moon" alongside the vocal talent Vavunettha, he additionally presents various influential styles throughout the album. "Interstellar Dub" and the dub remix of "Nuh Smile" featuring Kyrad from Switzerland lead us off the beat on dubby paths, whereas the title track "Overview", "Clouds" or the remix of "Fly High" with Meks Sample & El Tronic show his affinity for smoother Trip-HipHop grooves. By the way, you might recognize an organic and pulsating bass here and there, of course played by the maestro himself! This is warm and beautiful music for sophisticated and open minded souls. Enea!

The DC based duo Ornette Hawkins makes a step further into the field of Ardkore dnb with their latest EP, Fantom. This work revolves around reverent but imaginative jungle hinting to the early 90’s UK scene and simultaneously moving forward. Rhythms quaver, overlap and take new harmonious forms creating textual atmospheres and unveiling unexpected sounds with every listen; finding the “missing frequencies” becomes like an addictive game. The EP kicks off with the dystopian scenario depicted in Fantom; a rich track that moves like a stealth creature on an alien territory; sub-zero pads, clinical Photek inspired drum patterns and an eerie sax give way to an incessant building up that feels smooth and rough around the edges all at once. A floaty atmosphere returns with the shimmering waves of the Rhodes keyboards layered on warm synths and dry snares in Fade Away. To sum up the mood is the languid Bitch Is Blue, which is not only for its title, an explicit reference to Miles Davis’ avant jazz masterpiece; firstly the original version, placed somewhere between J Majik’s dextrous breakbeats and the crystalline melodies of LTJ Bukem. To close the EP is the startling remix by the intrepid talent of Tim Reaper, who stretches the track to futuristic rhythms, where our ears play along looking for new sounds.

The time has come for SCAR to broaden its horizons. As a production duo Survival & Script initially made a name for themselves by supplying rugged dancefloor workouts but there is a much larger story to tell here and with The Orkyd Project album this story will be told.

Production collaborations have been kept to an absolute minimum aside from vocal features; Naomi Pryor is the ever present voice of the album with further contributions from Eleanor Higgins and Ray Uptown.

The influences for The Orkyd Project shine a further light on the story; from Bill Withers to Massive Attack via Eric B and Rakim.

When initial conversations took place between Goldie and SCAR regarding the album Goldie gave the guys full license to create whatever they wanted and what we have been given is a melting pot of 2016 London music. Soul exists beside screw face.

It's important to note that Drum 'n' Bass hasn't been abandoned by any means, the hall marks of SCAR are ever present and correct- the blue print has just been expanded upon.

Atra Bilis - latin name for black bile - is the artist name chosen by the Milan based composer, who develops his practice from the idea that the dark liquid is vital to the creative process: ” the black bile is specifically responsible for dark and cold moods, which eventually turn into melancholy. Everyone, in different ways, is affected by this on daily basis. Atra Bilis transforms this condition into something eternal, like sound”. Launch Into is the first release by the Milan based produce. His references span from the 90’s UK rave and jungle scene to the maverick breakbeats such as Coco Bryce and Seagrave, crafting his own path towards a futuristic journey: kinetic jungle drum kicks, gloaming synths and shudder baseline.

D’cruze ‘watch Out’ The lost dubplates from rare DAT studio tapes that have been saved! The Legend of The Lost Dubplates. Prior to the original 1994 release of the D'Cruze classic 'Watch Out' our good friend and rave headliner Micky Finn requested a special version for his DJ sets, he went to the studio with D'Cruze and created a VIP dubplate special in the truest sense. Only held on dubplate by Micky himself and only ever heard in his sets it became stuff of legend. Fast Forward many years later a clip of it emerged on Soundcloud from a Micky Finn mixtape and the buzz for it started again. In 2021 Micky found the original DAT masters and supplied them to us for some restoration and remastering. While searching for the lost classic we came across a DAT with the writing Watch Out - Flex, a remix by Cool Hand Flex that didn't make it in time for the original release and has remained on DAT since 1994! So now, together with the original version and a totally unique 2021 take on this classic from Chimpo, finally we are able to bring this lost treasure to you! Grab yourself a piece of future history now whilst we have these available in stock, because these will never be repressed.

Vilify is a Berlin-based DJ and producer known for her multi-genre approach to bass-fueled club music. With over a decade of performance under her belt, she broadcasts numerous times monthly – known for her “Genre is a Social Construct” mix series, and DJs regularly at top venues in her home city and around the world. Her serene, melodic productions are anchored by titanic sub woofer emanations, and her sound can best be described as ethereal, eclectic, and exquisite. The Wire magazine selected “Road to Eleusis” for inclusion in its Tapper CD compilation series. A video for Interchangable Auras, was shot in Vancouver, BC, by Jeremy Shantz – a collaborator from Vilify’s home nation of Canada – and is linked below. This 8 track LP, reaches across bass music, jungle, experimental electronic, world, melodic and more. It was a created in a time of uncertainty, aiming to release fear & past Karmic cycles in an effort to open the door to brighter, more authentic being.
Connecting to source, rather than self, fostered this culmination of powerful, emotive sound and deep expression.

Dead Dred is back! With the stunning ‘back From THE Dred EP’ including all unreleased Dead Dred on an amazing 4 track EP

Back From THE Dred drops on incredible glow in the dark vinyl with a haunting Dave Nodz original artwork sleeve just in time for Halloween 2021.

Famed for the seminal Dred Bass track on our good friends at Moving Shadow amazing label, Dead Dred also appeared as a Suburban Base Recording artist as Solution/ Sound Station/ Basic Movements and now as Dead Dred with a stunning EP of brand new and unreleased tunes!

It opens with the uplifting groover ‘New Dawn’ with an amazing vocal from Hannah Fay. This track has the signature sound and style of Dead Dred whilst taking that sound forward ushering in a New Dawn of incredible new music from the D&B pioneer.

‘Space Without Time’ is next up, found from a long-lost DAT now re-mastered to perfection, this track delivers a full on amen jungle workout and a big 808 bass line with the classic sound we all have come to love.

We find ‘Run The Gunshot’ (Back From The Dred Mix) opening this AA sided EP, which has all the elements of his seminal classic ‘Dred Bass’. With the reverse bass sound and crazy mashed up amens. And the heavy D&B roller ‘Nightmares’ will haunt your dreams as it closes this 4 track EP of pure fire!

Atlanta’s The Masamune presents his debut 12″ release on Ohm Resistance – 4 absolute dancefloor controllers, with a special guest appearance from DJ Hidden on remix duties. This self-titled EP is aimed squarely at the next generation of Drum & Bass DJs and listeners, competing for the top step on the production podium. A direct representation of the storied Drum & Bass history of the label, The Masamune wires together his signature traditional symphonic strings and orchestral elements with the hardest hitting modern dancefloor sound. His beats range from half time punishers, in his signature Neuro-hop style, to running and rolling steppers, with a strong hip hop/b-boy influence appearing throughout his produdctions. According to The Masamune: “This project was made almost specifically to serve as a prelude to the full length LP I’m currently writing for Ohm Resistance.” The EP showcases the numerous talents of the artist, as well as crucial amplifications from his collaborators. Including Jakob Klug on artwork (previously work includes Black Sun Empire and The Outside Agency) and The Netherland’s legendary DJ Hidden, who has remixed the closing track – Doomslayer. The Masamune comments: “I consider DJ Hidden a pioneer and an early influence of mine. He was gracious enough to lend his talents on the remix of my 2018 track “Doomslayer”. The Masamune is a multi-genre producer, remixer, & live act from Atlanta, GA. A composer and sound designer known for his niche style of blending orchestral elements into the chaotic palettes of hard drums and heavy synths, his tracks explore dark themes and deliver punishing consistency. A top-flight production ethic combines with rich exploration of the dark side of Drum & Bass, his works are an automatic dancefloor uplifter in the hands of skilled DJs. He has released on Harder & Louder, Mindocracy, Smackdown Recordings, and was a participant in the Ohm Resistance 7″ series, as well as an annual contributor to the Perihelion compilation series.

We have done a small repress of this mega Ellis Dee release that came out originally on his CAT Label in 1994 and was repressed by us in 2021. This has been sold out for a very long time but the demand has built up, so we have decided to repress one more time.

The definitive skullstep track of 2007 gets a 2021 facelift. Many artists have tried to remix this Killer Limewax classic, and failed. Until now. Featuring remixes from Pythius, The Outside Agency, Ivan Shopov AKA Cooh. Plus a brand new rework from the man himself together with Slave To Society (the new noisy solo alias from Andrew Bowen of AnD).

Sunny & Deck Hussy bounce across the various Kniteforce labels with a speed and enthusiasm matched only by their music. But this EP is a little bit special. Capturing the early warehouse rave vibe perfectly, this is an EP of tunes for the breaking dawn of all night raves. That transcendent moment between night and day, when nothing seems quite real, and reality is a malleable future. Perhaps that is too much to lay at the feet of a 12” EP, but this EP brings that level of emotion, transporting an old skool head like me to that very moment…I am sure it will dot he same for others.

Divine Rhythm is an undisputed classic, and here we have a couple of wicked new mixes and an unreleased mix too! Dj Rap teams up with Dope Ammo and Jasmine Knight to give this classic tune a new, upfront jungle lick. Meanwhile, the Feel the Pressure mix is an old and much sought after remix finally getting its place on vinyl!

Rolling through with a fresh release for Concrete Castle Dubs comes Dutch producer Kid Sundance. An esteemed beat maker and producer who’s been known for his Hip Hop & Breaks over many years behind the mixing desk, always applying that original analogue style of production to his material. After leaving the Drum & Bass scene in 1999 he always kept a weak spot for the tracks that changed his life, he never sold his collection and last year he took them from the top shelf to the ground, rediscovered the love, linked with Disorda @ Concrete Castle Dubs and decided to get back on and release a record for the label.

Strictly limited-edition 12” vinyl in full colour sleeve – with no digital until much later in the year. Roni Size is a name synonymous with both V Recordings and Drum & Bass. A real pioneer of the scene, and one of only a handful of names to transcend the genre to become a real household name. Both huge underground and mainstream success followed, along with the Mercury Music Prize as part of Reprazaent, and a discography of original productions and remixes that still stand the test of time and find themselves in constant rotation in clubland and on radio. With so many seminal moment peppered over the V's history this Legends series just wouldn’t be completely without some of Roni's many unreleased gems making an appearance. 'Operation X' finds Roni in a musical mode, with lush horn stabs and rolling drums. Produced circa 20001 this one is a personal favourite of Bryan Gee's who's championed it continuously over the years, and so will be familiar track for many, especially those regulars to the V podcast! The moment 'Synction' kicks in you know you've entered the world of Roni Size. More of a rarity into today’s digital world, Roni and all his bellow Bristolians who made up Reprazent and the Full Cycle family had an inimitable sound they made their own, which still resonates around the world to this day. A hypnotic intro breaks into an irresistible dancefloor workout which will make you wonder how this track was ever overlooked! The fourth part in this vinyl series, with yet more legends waiting in the wings. These are an absolute essential for vinyl collectors.

Out Of Romford continues its run of classic remasters and remixes with this amazing proto-jungle EP. Featuring new remixes from New Decade and Liftin Spirits, its an unmissable slice of the original sound. Rolling beats and heavy bass laced with potent atmospherics are the name of the game, and it is played at its finest here.

Influential was a Kniteforce owned jungle / d’n’b label that ran for nearly 20 releases back in the late 90’s, before coming to a halt as KFA took off. But now it is returning, revamped into an old skool styled jungle label, complete with irreverent samples and deep jungle bass and dancehall vibes. All four tracks on this EP lean in slightly different directions, but all are forwards in reverse, proper jungle for those who know the original sound.

NRGs return to the scene has been phenomenal, and this EP only serves to underscore why his mighty talent for incredible music deserves the legendary status it inevitably gets. Inside is 4 thunderous rave tracks, with the lead tune, Inside, destined to be a classic. Meanwhile NRG takes things forward with “Ive Been Waiting” and lets the beats speak for themselves in Dancefloor Rockin, leaving only “Yeah” to make you agree you just listened to both the future and the past.

Exploring a path darker than before and their most ambitious work yet, 'Tremor' combines beautifully crafted breakbeat to sounds of the past, present & future. From the serious tearout vibes of 'Reflector Dub' to fierce breaks explosion of the title track and 'Intercept' all the way to the calming end of 'Hold Water' Tremor EP is a captivating collection of modern day jungle.

K Records is a place for the innovative and unusual, but in this case, it’s the place for one of the most interesting and exciting releases this year. Knuckels a relatively new artist, takes the old skool formula, pulls it to pieces, rebuilds it and gives it a brand new shine with this incredible EP. Full to the brim of new ideas and styles but maintaining the old skool ethic and sound, this is an unmissable slice of wax. Hence the unmissable artwork and splatter vinyl!

Dj Ham (aka Hamilton) is a Kniteforce original artist, one who was there from the beginning and was part of the original success of the Kniteforce label as a whole. His classic work includes Most Uplifting and Let Yourself Go, the second of which gets a huge remix on this EP! But that’s the last track on the EP, because as good as it is, it is eclipsed by Dj Hams new work. Give It To Em contains all the elements you would expect – an old skool sound, sure, but innovation and trickery to stun and amaze while forcing the dancefloor to explode.
