Rule of Thirds is the debut album from Nine Windows, a collaborative project between Kid Drama & DJ Trace.

The album pulls inspiration from the golden era of atmospheric jungle with the focus on labels like Good Looking, Deejay Recordings and Lucky Spin.

Expect deep nostalgia and euphoria as the pads wash over you and breaks skitter over subsonic 808 basslines as these two veterans take you on a journey into 90s bliss.

To top it off there are features with the Pioneer of the new Jungle movement - Tim Reaper and the legendary Skream making an appearance on the album.

Vibes 93 is having a whale of time rinsing out all kinds of upfront drum & bass and jungle, but this takes the fun to a whole new level. The Dutch producer isn't making any attempt to mask the source material on his summer-scouting new release, calling on hip-hop and r&b legends for vocal samples in the midst of straight-up, feel good rollers. Eschewing his rowdier, underground material for something more universal, this is the kind of record which will bring a massive swathe of people together for some proper moments, but more to the point it's done with panache.

Samy Ponsar aka War has been a firm favourite and valued member of the Utopia family, so it was only a matter of time until his first solo body of work for them would surface. It also happens to be the first dubstep / 140 bpm offering from the label, completely taking things away from the drum & bass things for a beat.

An ice-cold body of work showcases Sam's impressive and continuously growing dexterity both in the idea and engineering spheres alike. The EP is laden with his well-known style and distinctive approach to writing music. As the artist harnesses room-shaking low end frequencies and bone breaking beats, we're invited on a trip filled with jazz and noir soundscapes between 110 and 140 bpm, served on a solid White 10” with full colour sleeve designed by War himself.

Pera Sta Ori returns at To Pikap Records with a 90’s rave scene inspired EP. Old school jungle vibes meet modern production skills in four tracks of furious breakbeat manipulation, pitched vocal samples and heavy bass, made up for the dance floor.

The Malaga-based producer Pablo Dread is releasing a new track on Beat Machine Records for the eleventh edition of the special series Swinging Flavors, this time a single titled "Hardcore Blips" It's a limited edition 7" vinyl featuring bassline kicks that shake us to our core and take us on a percussive adventure. This is a full-throttle journey hurtling towards uncontrollable euphoria with electrifying vibrations that magnetically pull us into a one-way ticket to ecstasy. The track's old-school rave sound, a hallmark of Pablo Dread's productions, immerses us in the ambiance typical of the '90s with recurring piano chords that give way to a heavy and strict drum and bass drop. The single features a special remix by Fanu (Janne Hatula), known for his dynamic and evolving rhythms. Hailing from Helsinki, Finland, Fanu takes a departure from his usual thick chord-driven pieces, opting for a more minimal yet delightfully busy and slightly wonky approach. Drawing inspiration from Luke Vibert, this remix adds a playful and unique twist to the track.

The latest offering from Astral Black comes in the form of the 'Metropolis N' LP, courtesy of Queens, New York's number premier importer/exporter of Jungle & D&B, Nigelthreetimes. Having initially garnered a name for themselves as one of New York City's most versatile club DJ's, with the release of their 'Call Of The Void; project in 2020 Nigel also began to build a reputation as a producer in their own right. Resulting in residencies on Rinse FM & The Lot Radio, radio support from the likes of Tom Ravenscroft & Uniiqu3 and press support from Resident Advisor, OkayPLAYER & Mixmag – amplifying their talents throughout New York City and beyond. With 'Metropolis N' Nigelthreetimes distills their eclectic influences through the lens of rolling 160bpm breaks – taking in Jazz, 8-bit game soundtrakcs, science fiction & jump up D&B. Starting off the LP with the rhodes tinged double header of 'tsq Meltdown' & 'early Morning From 103rd Street', the latter featuring some of the best double bass work heard on a jungle track since 'Brown Paper Bag'. Elsewhere, on 'road2rails' and 'phantom Shores', the producer ditches the instrumentation in favour of oscillated square waves, dubbed out vocal FX & 8-bit melodies, without ever losing site of the projects underlying sense of optimism. On the album closer 'international Space Station', 3X manages to bring together the influences heard throughout the project, tying together a muted rhodes chords, squarewave basslines, flutters of alien melodies and finely tuned, slices breakbeats into a 5 minute symphony. The consistency and exacting production skills heard throughout the offering elevate this project from another drop in the digital ocean to a landmark opus, from a producer carrying the torch for this timeless sound and making the project worthy of a spot alongside some of the classics this genre has produced. 'Metropolis N' is available Oct 13th on digital and limited edition vinyl via Astral Black.

Phil Kennedy is also known for their participation in the compilation album 'modal soul classics by Nujabes' (2008) and the tribute album 'modal soul classics II -dedicated to... Nujabes' (2010), which was released after Nujabes passed away. The producer of Specifics released his debut solo album "With Twice a.k.a. Phil Kennedy" in 2007. With A Loop And Some Swing', his debut album as a solo artist, and his second album 'Rock To This Beat', released the following year, are being reissued in analogue format for the first time!

The latest report from the Smm0000 record label. A remote collaboration between Big Hands and Banishsh. A-side: Original production by Big Hands (Andrea Ottomanni). B-side: two versions by Banishsh (Simone Guido Izzi). Somewhere between bass-oriented electronic music, jungle, drum and bass and techno with an experimental and unusual perspective. The rhythmic pattern of the A-side collides with the sparse, glittering synth arpeggio. Unexpected narrative paths are layered over repetitive percussive drum sounds. The B-side versions take the original ideas and turn them into a more abstract sonic machine, forecasting glitchy rain, micro-tonal shifting melodies and poly- rhythmic drum sessions.

Suburban Architecture are pleased to announce the second in their 'Architecture Dubs' series of limited edition 10" vinyl releases, which sees some of the most revered names active during the mid 90s golden era of Drum & Bass deliver remixes of Suburban Architecture material in homage to that most innovative of periods. Following on from the now sold out release of Architecture Dub #001 (featuring remixes from Peshay and DJ Trax), #002 delivers new remixes from two further legends of the scene, Blame and DJ Trace.

Blame has enjoyed a storied career in the genre, having released extensively on two of the most highly regarded 90s imprints, Moving Shadow and LTJ Bukem's Good Looking Records, before establishing his own imprint 720 Degrees. For this release Blame tackles 'Visions '96', a favourite from Suburban Architecture's now highly collectible debut EP, 'Visions', introducing a jazzy bass groove, rousing vocals and energising breakdowns to the Jazz Fusion sonics of the original.

DJ Trace is another name who needs little introduction. With seminal releases on highly regarded underground labels Lucky Spin and Dee Jay Recordings among others, Trace's work joins the dots between early Hardcore, mid 90s Intelligence and the darker sounds of the late 90s. His remix of 'Future Jazz '95' is a stripped back, stepping rework that will please fans of his classic tracks 'After Hours' and 'Miles High'.

Pressed on 10" vinyl and housed in brown Kraft paper sleeves, the series makes visual reference to the exclusive dubplate pressings which introduced so many classic cuts to the UK's dancefloors in the 90s.
