For Maya, this EP is a reflection on what it means to be home and the relationships which make it so, written over a two month period of some difficult transitions and changes. After struggling with some memories around what home meant to her in the past, some large personal life changes triggered and shaped how she feels about home now, after having been away from the US and living in the UK for nearly a decade.

She explains that the music on this EP is also very much a love letter to her friends and family who share their stories with her, who make her time here worthwhile, and who ultimately make her feel at home.

Musically the record spans seven tracks each with their own style. Some up-tempo breaksy cuts along with more delicate down-tempo melancholic moments, all of which are influenced by her upbringing in the US and also the UK. She uses sounds that she was listening to back when living in the US and other things that make her think of home such as pool field recordings and piano-lead indie music, as well as 00s RnB samples, all united by soft pads and vocal samples.

Psycho Bummer is proud to present UFO!, a true originator for bass music in the United States and a hero to us since before we can remember. As part of San Francisco's Phunckateck crew in the 90's, UFO!'s early music staked out a militantly abstract form of techstep that was unlike anything else around at the time. Releases like "Science Fact / Enemy Infiltration" in 1999 were among the first US-produced drum'n'bass records that many stateside ravers bought, and while we can only speak for ourselves, UFO! was a huge inspiration in getting us to make our own music.

On the "Level Up" EP, UFO! continues a recent exploration of jungle, footwork, and juke-influenced tracks that are completely unpretentious and fun yet carry a certain strain of weirdness that links back to his early music. From heads down rollers like "Operation Drag n Drop" to the bizarre rush of "Level Up", this stuff is unmistakably UFO! and it's an honor to have him on our label. Manchester based DJ/producer Antagonist cues up a collection of dense and uncompromising electronic tracks on his R&S Records debut. The ‘Rites’ EP pulls together 5 new tracks that lean on the artist’s drum ‘n’ bass roots and influences, a sound that has informed his DJ sets and studio productions since he launched the project in 2004.

Prayer has always been one to push hard on the emotional front, and definitely brings this energy to this release. Bruised Skies (Matthew Heywood) creates layered, visual music that captures a melancholic isolated landscape, oceans of sound lapping against shores; guiding the listener. Calibre - "I first came across Adam's work via a remix I did of 'She Rocks, I Roll' back in 2019, the vibe was melancholic and leaned toward my own bluesy take on things. When 'Dissolve In The Rain' hit my inbox, I instantly connected with the guitar and vocal, in particular the lyrics, and felt it could be merged with a piano idea that I had. Merging these worlds created an arrangement for two sections; a lyrical passage that leads to harmonised vocals, and then an improvised and layered section, accentuated by Adam's lyric and guitar. It was a real pleasure to watch it almost make itself. The worlds combined lead to something nostalgic but new, it's a wonderful meeting of musical minds."

Ramos is a name synonymous with hardcore from the 90s, usually working with his friends in Supreme and Sunset Regime. But this is something different from one of the south coast’s finest. Producing solo but utilising the amazing vocal talents of his muse, Elayne. This EP features 4 very differently styled mixes of one amazing track. First is the Breakbeat mix, which is in the style of early hardcore rave music, when breakbeat first met piano. Then it’s technically the only remix on the EP, from Stu Chapman. Stu does what he does best and sets his version firmly in the 93/94 era of hardcore but with his own twist. On the flip side, Ramos takes his own spin on the later breakbeat hardcore style. It has a 1995 vibe to it with all the energy and vigour you would expect from Ramos from that time. Finally we round this EP out with a more chilled version in the Deep Breaks Mix. This is the version you listen to when you wish to unwind after a heavy night if raving.

Here we have the third instalment of the highly anticipated Knitebreed Remixes series on clear green vinyl. Following on from volumes 1 and 2, we have yet another amazing remix EP. Our headliner this time is none other than NRG, remixing an Ant To Be classic. NRG has a sound all his own and he really expresses that with this remix. Heavy chopped vocals and sharp as a knife breaks throughout, that leave you in no doubt that this is professional at the height of his powers. Meanwhile, Paul Bradley remixes Knitebreeds very own Sunny & Deck Hussy taking their piano based track and adding some filthy stabs and toughening up the breaks. On the flip side, Tenerife meets Germany when Wislov remixes TNO Project. These 2 have very different styles, but Wislov’s style really fits the manic style of TNO and this remix is wonderful. These are the demos of what would later go on to be the ‘Projection’ EP, released on Moving Shadow back in 1992 by Tone Def. The original release was a collaboration between the band and Rob Playford, recorded in both his Hertfordshire studio and Tone Def’s Bournemouth studio. Rob used to like to get hands on with his early signings to the label by helping to mould the releases to fit brand.

This EP has been licensed courtesy of Moving Shadow and these are the original demos that were written by the Rog, Paul and Tony and handed into Shadow for consideration. These 4 tracks were lost until recently, rediscovered on a ¼ tape by Rog Mogale in his archives. Never before heard or released, this is some proper UK rave history, fresh out the box 30 years after conception.

During the early days of house music and into the progression of rave, Rog built speakers and sound systems for clubs from scratch. He was so good at it, he built his own company, Void Audio, which is now the worlds leading supplier of club and festival sound systems.

For many, Funky Sensation is their favourite N-Zo & DJ Invincible track…but for the rest it is this total classic “Take Me Away”! N-Zo & DJ Invincible had a sound that was distinctly their own, being able to take big vocals and pianos mixed with very jungle inspired chopped breaks but keeping the sound firmly hardcore. Take Me Away remains pure goose bump material to this day. With such a classic on one side it’s not surprising that the other side doesn’t get the airtime it deserves. Red 5 is another amazing track that shows off the style of N-Zo & DJ Invincible perfectly but this time without the big piano and female vocal. Don’t let that fool you into thinking that this isn’t really another A side in disguise. Once again you can hear the jungle influence in it, especially with the slightly darker tone, compared to Take Me Away.

The two tracks on this release ‘Take Me To Your Leader’ and ‘Bodyrock’ were made in Stu J’s living room at the Polygon in Southampton. His studio partner Don had a Roland W30 work station that he would bring over, which was an all in one sampler and sequencer. “I think this is also what The Prodigy used at the time” Stu tells me.

There was also an Akai 950, a 24 track Allen & Heath desk and a Quadraverb which Stu owned. “I think that was it, that’s all we had to make these tracks. It was such a great time that you could make music with such limited gear. It was like things were better if you had minimal gear to work with.” When the tracks were completed Stu used a company called Perpetual for all the cutting and pressing as he didn’t have any links directly, so a one stop shop was the best course of action to get his releases out there.

“It was a crazy experience. As we had limited sample time, big sections of the track are mixed in live from another record on the decks. Don had the sequencer, so he knew what he was doing on that side of things, far more than me. I was the DJ and knew how a tune should be structured. Don was an amazing engineer. He was so much more than an engineer though.

This track is a seminal tune for any raver on the South Coast of the UK as Stu would be playing Madisons, Remix, Adrenalin parties as well as Fantazia at Matchams. But this release went far beyond the south, it was a national treasure that take those who listen back to 1991, the year this release was first pressed. Now available remastered and repressed on heavyweight green vinyl.

This is the highly prized first EP from Ramos, Supreme & Sunset Regime, originally released on their own label back in the mid 90’s. It is, and always will be, an absolute classic of an EP. We are proud to be able to remaster and repress this release while keeping it as close to the original look as possible. All four tracks smashed dance floors at clubs and raves back in the day. Marley’s Rush comes in with two different versions, one being slightly harder than the other and both being amazing breakbeat hardcore tracks that sum up the era perfectly. Intruder is a perfect example of the edgier side to hardcore. It's not quite jungle and definitely not happy hardcore, it is just hardcore in its rawest form. Finally, the lead track, one of the best tracks from 1994, I Got The Real Feel (‘94 Mix). An updated version of the 1992 original by Sunset Regime. They don’t come much bigger than this and that is why the whole EP is in so much demand second hand.

Ray Keith’s remix of “Dread Inna Babylon” sees him going all the way back to his jungle days to produce something that is unmistakably Ray Keith.
