In its immediate accessibility it is somewhat reminiscent of Coil's mid-1980s classic 'Horse Rotorvator' sharing that album's wild variety of sounds and styles as well as its overriding sombre mood. Originally released in 2005 and in many ways the band's ultimate swan song, it is now considered one of the go-to albums for introducing new listeners to the unparalleled magick of Coil. Compiled and released by Peter Christopherson and Danny Hyde one year after Jhonn Balance's tragic deadly fall, it includes reworkings of the live favorite 'Amethyst Deceivers' and 'Love Secret's Domain's' 'Teenage Lightning' as well as several songs originally intended for the ill-fated 'Backwards' album like the haunting and reminiscent 'Fire of the Mind' and the superb 'Amber Rain'. Other tracks were created using unfinished song ideas from around 'Backwards', sampling tiny bits of Balance's live vocals from songs only ever performed in concert once like 'Triple Sun'. Using the lyrics of the theme tune for the 1970s BBC sit com series 'Are you being served?' for the unbelievably haunting 'Going up', this album's final track and the last song Coil ever performed live, is maybe the most poignant example of Balance's and Christopherson's method of turning base matter into pure sound gold, and like the title of the album, derived from an imaginary adult video an equally fine example of the often underappreciated humor of the boys. Christopherson with the help of long-term sound wizard Danny Hyde and using some of the talent of Coil touring members managed to craft an album which feels and flows like a true Coil classic. The Infinite Fog version is the third Coil record receiving the fully remastered and enhanced 3lp/2cd treatment supervised by Danny Hyde. All of the original material has again been carefully and sympathetically remastered by Grammy-nominated engineer Jessica Thompson who has been previously lauded for her splendid job on its sister release 'The New Backwards'. The astounding design of the original box-set release is restored for the gatefold 3LP sleeve using the fully-licensed artwork by Ian Johnstone (making it easy to differentiate this new vinyl version from previous un-sanctioned LP releases using poor reproductions of the original CD art for the front cover), the CD will be available in two versions with the original and well-loved original CD cover art and for the first time using the former vinyl-only cover art. “The New Backwards” was conceived by Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson in 2007, revisiting stray tracks which hadn’t seemed to gel with the material he had chosen for the more somber “Ape of Naples” from 2005, Coil’s initial posthumous release, a sort of requiem and a kiss-goodbye to his then recently deceased partner John Balance.

Significantly different to its sister release, this album collects the brilliantly chaotic and outrageously rhythmic material from the original sessions for the album that was begun as early as 1993 and had originally been conceptualised as the follow-up to “Love’s Secret Domain”. These songs are as diverse and wild as the places they originated from, partly infamously spawned in Sharon Tate’s former home in the Hollywood Hills, the Nine Inch Nails home base in New Orleans and London’s Swanyard, remixed and restructured with the help of long-term friend Danny Hyde in Thailand, this collection has its own unique flow and an atmosphere not found on any other Coil release.

Both “ayor” and “Backwards” had by the time the album was first released already become favourites in Coil’s manic live performances. Some of the other tracks had only leaked in demo versions and are here presented updated and polished as Christopherson and Hyde intended them to be heard. It is interesting to consider Balance’s vocal contributions, too. Whilst on the albums Coil did release at the time this material was first put aside (“Black Light District” and “ElpH”) his voice is all but absent, his vocal performances and his lyric writing here are arguably more closely indebted to the previous “Love’s Secret Domain” era, especially the epic “Copacaballa” is noteworthy in that respect. The New Backwards” effectively became the final official Coil studio release of all new material whilst Peter was still alive and is here presented for the first time fully supervised by Danny Hyde, its co-creator. The stunning cover uses a detail from artist Ian Johnstone’s “Cubic Raven” painting, licensed from the estate of IJ..

It is high time to rediscover this timeless album with the Infinite Fog release boasting eight further tracks of previously unheard material from the same sessions, rough working stages and surprising remixes which will surely delight the dedicated Coil archaeologists, as they shine yet another light on the creative process and on what could have been.

Attention: To avoid later mournings, we want to inform you that picture “vinyl” is no audiophile format, it’s a collectible format. Especially for music like Coil with it’s wide stereo spread, swirling high frequencies and deep dronning basses. The more stereo and bass, the wider and deeper the grooves have to be, to provide all information to the needle. But picture discs have only a very thin plastic-foil over the pictures, it’s no vinyl, just plastic, similar to pet bottles. On picture “vinyl” can not be pressed so deep and wide grooves, that it would sound as well as a real vinyl. That’s the same for ALL picture LPs, not only Coil.

General conclusion: Of course our picture LP editions are enjoyable for listening too! But to get the best sound quality, you should buy black or any coloured transparent vinyl, those sound best. For your collection just buy whatever you think looks best.

UK National Album Day Limited Release. Originally released in 1991, ex:el was the third studio album by 808 State, and the last to feature founding member Martin Price. The album contains guest vocals from Bernard Sumner of New Order in the single ‘Spanish Heart’, and Björk with ‘Qmart’ and ‘Ooops’, paving the way for early concepts of modern electronic music. The release comes as a limited-edition 140-gram blue vinyl.

The first release on Calax Records is a re-release of the tape "Energy Is Eternal Delight", co-released by Siegmar Fricke and A Thunder Orchestra. Although the original material was released exclusively on cassette in 1991 we re-release this album on double-vinyl with two unreleased tracks by Siegmar Fricke. SIegmar Fricke is based in Germany and he has been working on music since the early 80s. At that time, he recorded sounds from the radio which were then sampled, transformed and recombined to rhythmic disco-collages of very unique nature and incomparable style. A Thunder Orchestra is cult-artist from the 80s, who specialized in ambient, electronic wave and industrial music and who released them under several names: Danton's Voice, White House White, A Thunder Orchestra and Ratbau.

When Arthur Russell died in 1992 he left an overwhelming archive of over a 1000 tapes that reveal the sublime genius of one of the most important musicians of the last 25 years. As a cellist, songwriter, composer, and disco visionary Arthur Russell consistently blurred the lines of our expectations of what pop music could be. Originally from Iowa, Arthur travelled west in 1970 to study Indian classical composition with Ali Akbar Khan, befriended Allen Ginsberg, performed with Alice Coltrane, and then moved to New York in 1973 to study at the Manhattan School of Music. Quickly gravitating to the then burgeoning downtown scene, Arthur wrote and performed his minimal compositions (captured on Instrumentals and Tower Of Meaning. Both to be re-issued by Audika) and collaborated with a who’s who of some of New York’s most influential artists including Rhy’s Chatham, Ernie Brooks, David Byrne, Phillip Glass, Laurie Anderson, Jon Gibson, Robert Wilson, Christian Wolff, John Cage, Arnold Dreyblatt, and Phill Niblock.

It then changed by a mere accident. Simply, he went to a disco. Inspired by the sonic repetition and sense of community, Arthur wrote and recorded some of the most important records of the disco era including ‘Kiss Me Again’, ‘Is It All Over My Face’, and co-founded Sleeping Bag Records with partner Will Socolov releasing ‘Go Bang’ and the album 24-24 Music. In 2002 Audika Records entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with the estate of Arthur Russell to issue previously unreleased and out of print material from Arthur’s vast archive. The first album Calling Out Of Context , features 12 previously unreleased tracks recorded during Arthur’s prime years 1985-90. The material is drawn from Corn, an album that was completed in 1985 but never released, and an abandoned album recorded for Rough Trade as Arthur had become ill. Many of these tracks show hidden sides of Arthur’s talent and underline the loss of his great potential. Contrary by nature, Arthur’s spontaneous reaction and altered perception to his environment produced music that remains challenging and contemporary. Arthur’s open hearted attitude to music was far ahead of it’s time, and now that time is ours.”

Following on from the UK Top 20 success of 2022's 30 Something, and the Top 10 for 2023's Optical Delusion, London Records launch an extensive 2024 campaign for Orbital, revisiting 1991's seminal debut Orbital (aka The Green Album).

The Green Album heralded a brave new world for the UK musical landscape (DJ Mag would later decry that the album "rewrote the rule book for rave"). Brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll eschewed formulas and clichés, choosing to explore wider textures, rhythms and stranger mind spaces within dance music. Their resulting album would enjoy both chart success and an enduring legacy, influencing and inspiring artists from Björk to Bicep, with the Hartnoll brothers going on to collaborate with artists as diverse as Madonna, Ennio Morricone, Kraftwerk, Sleaford Mods and Professor Brian Cox.

33 years since its original release the album is revisited, from black vinyl , limited colored vinyl and CD editions (long out of print), to special Record Store Day double Splatter Lp. In the digital space 'Tonight In Belfast' will be lauched on February 2nd, :a reworking of the band's seminal track 'Belfast', remixed by David Holmes and re-interpolated with new lyrics and vocal by acclaimed street poet Mike Garry.

Orbital will be supporting The Green Album with an extensive headline UK tour this April (performing both their Green and Brown albums). Ahead of that they've just been announced today for Coachella 2024, as well as Miami's Ultra Festival and headline shows in New York and Chicago.

The first ever vinyl reissue of Ecstasy Boys' major debut album from 1994, "Moon Dance". The Ecstasy Boys had been actively producing and performing shows worldwide from the late 80's to the 90's. They had been recognized by legendary DJs such as Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles. The unit "Ecstasy Boys" was named by NY based legendary producer Mark Kamins, who was known as Madonna's producer for her first single "Everybody". The track "Happiness" (a2) and "Tsukino Oshie" (b1) were produced by Mark Kamins. The album also compiles their signature track "Holly Spirit Dance" which was released from Strictly Rhythm also in 1994! The whole album has been newly remastered by the maestro Dr.Tommy (ex. Vibrastone) for this special double LP Japanese pressing!!

Kranky re-release Bowery Electric's second long-player, their 1996 album, Beat. Its horizontal, morphine-drip trip hop and drone-gazing really don't sound like something that could have come from the mid-nineties. But for the very Bristolian title track the tone of the album is actually far more in-keeping with either Spacemen 3-style eighties indie or modern day dream-pop. In addition to soaring effects-laden epics like 'Empty Words' and 'Fear Of Flying' there's some sensitive minimalism afoot on the self-explanatory ambience of 'Looped' and the sixteen-minute 'Postscript', all of which helps make Beat a worthy and seasonable reissue. A secret Downbeat gem from the middle of the 90s.

When this peerless masterclass in nanoscopic funk editing, a decade after SND’s seminal early trio of self-releases, »4,5,6« marked a leap in form from their self explanatory »Tender Love« LP of 2002 with a return to their early EPs' avant club focus, but drawing on processes and tekkers they had sharply refined over the interim.

25th anniversary edition of the album "Roseland NYC Live" by the trio from Bristol, which was recorded and filmed in 1997 in New York's Roseland Ballroom with a 28-piece orchestra and released in 1998.

The live album and the concert film have sold over 1 million copies to date. The album features the most acclaimed tracks "Glory Box", "Sour Times" and "Roads" from their debut and second album "Dummy" and "Portishead".

The track list has been remastered and expanded to include 'Undenied' and 'Numb' from the concert film, as well as the full-length performance of 'Western Eyes', part of which was featured in the film credits.

As one journalist put it at the time, [ O T H E R ] is a "grim example of a consummate artist who is working frmly within the parameters that he has laid out for himself over the years." This album shows Lustmord at his most characteristic, and the icy, ominous guitar playing of Jones, Turner and Ozborne resonates perfectly within the deep soundscapes that make up this frightening yet inspiring journey. The Ape of Naples is Coil's highly celebrated final album completed by Peter Christopherson following the tragic death of Jhonn Balance in 2004. Often noted for being a fan favorite, The Ape of Naples uses Balance's final recordings and material recorded at Trent Reznor's studio in New Orleans to create a deep, heavy masterpiece.

This re-press is packaged in a heavy duty jacket with Ian Johnstone's original artwork coated in a custom spot gloss. Each LP is housed in a printed inner sleeve and side D contains all three original etchings. Ape's lyrics are spread across the gatefold.

This deluxe reissue brings together the first MEGO release, ‘Fridge Trax’ and the full length album that followed ‘Live and final Fridge’, originally released on Source in 1995.

The classic album "Colors of the Dark" by rei harakami, which became a big hit among his fans, will be reissued on 180g heavy weight clear vinyl!! Rei Harakami, who passed away in July 2011 at the age of 40, is back with his long-awaited analog vinyl release, "Colors of the Dark"!! This album, which mainly features ambient sounds among Rei Harakami's works, was created as the soundtrack for "Colors of the Dark", a content for Megastar-ii cosmos, "the world's most advanced planetarium projector" at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, Miraikan, Japan. It also includes "yami wa hikari no haha," a poem by Shuntaro Tanikawa, read by Ikuko Harada (Clammbon). At the time, the record was sold out immediately, and it is known as a rare piece that fetched a high price on the second-hand market.

“The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld” is the debut studio album by English electronic music group The Orb. Released in 1991, the double album is a continuous progressive composition consisting of several tracks advancing the "journey" concept. The album's framework is of a two-hour psychedelic trip through music genres and studio electronics, produced to "push the threshold" of live stage performance, and comprising vocal samples and sound effects interspersed with original music.

The Orb are an English electronic music group known for being the pioneers of ambient house. Founded in 1988 by Alex Paterson and The KLF member Jimmy Cauty, the Orb began as ambient and dub DJs in London. Their early performances were inspired by ambient and electronic artists of the 1970s and 1980s, most notably Brian Eno and Kraftwerk. Because of their trippy sound, the Orb developed a cult following among clubbers "coming down" from drug-induced highs. The Orb has maintained their drug-related and science fiction themes despite personnel changes, including the departure of Cauty and other Orb members Kris Weston, Andy Falconer, Simon Phillips, Nick Burton and Andy Hughes. Paterson has been the only permanent member, continuing to work as the Orb with the Swiss-German producer Thomas Fehlmann and, later, with Martin "Youth" Glover, bass player with Killing Joke.

Beyond recognition on their albums and concerts; his unauthorised use of other artists' works has led to disputes with musicians, most notably with Rickie Lee Jones. During their live shows of the 1990s, the Orb performed using digital audio tape machines optimised for live mixing and sampling before switching to laptops and digital media. Despite changes in performance method, the Orb maintained their colourful light shows and psychedelic imagery in concert. These visually intense performances prompted critics to compare the group to Pink Floyd.

The E.A.R. debut project, Mesmerised, is a total collage of drones, tones, and endless atmospheric washes that becomes a logical extension of earlier works into realms of psychedelic haze. This mysterious and beautiful sound is a complete exploration into 90's post/space rock. Only released on vinyl once in 1994, this RSD 2023 release has been created to exactly replicate the Space Age Recordings release from 2009. Transparent red vinyl, inside a clear acetate bag with concentric circles and the EAR logo printed direct to it (plus barcode, track list etc).

The turn of the millennium ushered in an apex visionary phase for English esoteric duo Coil. Relocating from the city to the coastal quiet of Westonsuper-Mare freed them to follow even more fringe obsessions, fully untethered from peer influence. During a single six-month stretch in 2000 they released the devious underworld sequel to Music To Play In The Dark, arcane drone summit Queens Of The Circulating Library, and a malevolent hour-long synthesizer exorcism prophetically titled Constant Shallowness Leads To Evil. This latter work remains one of the group's most miasmic and mind-expanding creations, on par with Time Machines - a sustained divination of shuddering, psychoactive noise, rippling with the motion sickness of an all-seeing eye. Thighpaulsandra characterizes the album as "an exercise in brutality," born from a thorny patch of his Serge modular unit that Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson found entrancing. Processing this sliver of electronics into a ravaged labyrinth was a trial and error process, aided by Christopherson's visual sense of sound, stretching and manipulating it for maximum spatial disorientating. Frequencies nauseously crawl across the stereo field, burrowing into the ear like a sinister brainwashing experiment. An outlier / centerpiece is the 13-minute alien tribalist sea shanty, "I Am The Green Child," guided by John Balance's sung-spoken free verse concerning vengeance, oblivion, and insanity, culminating in the memorable refrain, "We're swimming in a sea of occidental vomit." But the rest of the record seethes in unhinged instrumental chaos, divided into 18 micro-movements of a composition called "Tunnel Of Goats." Intended to scramble the functionality of a CD player's shuffle mode, the piece throbs, thrashes, and flatlines in compressed frenzies of twisted synthesis, at the threshold of some bottomless purgatory, forbidding and unknown.

Kakusei (覚醒) is the fifth solo studio album by Japanese hip hop producer DJ Krush, originally released in 1998. Krush combines minimal beats, hip-hop, trip-hop and ambient to create an exceptional album. The album received critical acclaim and includes guest appearances by Esthero, A.S.A., DJ Sak, Mista Sinista (of The X-Ecutioners) and many more.
