Captain Gloats is the understudy of Alloy Cuts’ mainstay Booty Haul, presumably for some hilarious “Haul & Gloats” puns in the not so distant future . Not much is known about Captain Gloats, other than he is a bit of dab hand at mashing up tracks and has an ear for what works on the dancefloor. Ring My Cheque up mashes up Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bell” with The Beastie Boys classic “Ch-Check it Out” resulting in 4 minutes and 30 seconds of floor filling fun, with tongue firmly in cheek.

Booty Haul returns to Alloy Cuts with more of his Boom Bap goodness. Blending multiple choice samples and breaks, most notably the Mary Jane Girls’ “All Night Long”, to create a hip hop instrumental that sounds like it was forged in a NYC basement in the mid-90s. This time Mr Haul draws for a ragga acapella on the A Side, clashing with the Canadian Dancehall Queen “Carla Marshall” and her 1990 hit “Champion”.

Side B is brought to you by the incredibly talented Toronto Disco duo, LeBaron James. LeBaron James are at the top of their game, pumping out high quality Disco Edits to a whole host of successful labels. Home base for them has been the incredibly successful Spacedisco label, run by Juno award winning Toronto artist, Hatiras. Their super catchy Disco edit of “Never gonna give my love again” will have you singing at the top of your lungs, feeling like you’re front and center at Studio 54! The vibe gets pushed even further into overdrive with the onset of a smooth and sexy sax solo that carries through the tail end of the record. This one has already proven to catch the ears of some major players across the globe! Don’t sleep on this white label. These DJ DSK edit instrumentals were pressed up after many requests from DJs who wanted them, they can be used with the vocal versions, create new mash ups or just played as a track in their own right. DMC 2014 WORLD DJ CHAMPIONSHIP DVD with 16 stunning performances from
the 2014 National DMC Champions.

Also featuring a special guest performance by Japan’s KENTARO (2002 DMC
World Champion) together with an exclusive DVD only interview with the
new Champion - Mr.Switch, the previous three time winner of the DMC
Battle for World Supremacy who became the first Brit since Plus One in
2001 to bring the World title back to the UK.
The interview is conducted by Cutmaster Swift (1989 DMC World Champion)
who took the DMC rig to Mr. Switch’s home town Birmingham to watch him
repeat his winning set in multi-angle format with Switch discussing his
influences and provides tips for wannabe World Champions.
The 2014 runner-up was America’s I-Dee with Canada’s Vekked taking third
place.
The DMC Championships staged at London’s Forum were once again supported
by RANE who provided a gold plated Rane Mixer to the winner seen here in
Mr.Switch’s exclusive interview. Pioneer DJ provided additional prizes
including their newly developed turntables which have been well received
within the DJ industry and seen as a long overdue product since the
legendary Technics SL1200’s.
DMC posted the winning performance by Mr.Switch on dmcworld.tv (via
youtube) where it has attracted over 150,000 views already. The sound
quality of this clip included a live audience microphone whilst the
newly released dvd version feeds audio directly from the console.
