The Bio-cellulose diaphragm
The bio-cellulose speaker diaphragm in S05 is made of a bacterial
cellulose which is an organic compound that is grown using certain
types of bacteria. Bio-cellulose is a really interesting material for
many reasons it’s renewable biodegradable and it has great
acoustic properties.
The role it plays when listening to music
If music is played through a poorly designed headphones that
produce a high amount of harmonic distortion it will simply sound
wrong and unnatural. This is because the harmonic distortion
changes how we perceive the timbre and tonality of the sound
which is obviously really problematic when producing music or
mixing a track. The biocellulose diaphragm on the other hand is
able to reproduce the music faithfully with great clarity even at
high volume levels.
S05
For the S05 we paired the biocellulose diaphragm with a high grade
neodymium magnet which resulted in a speaker unit that offers a clear
mid-range better dynamics and a more natural overall tonality. When
tuning the speaker unit we paid special attention to the clarity in the
mid-range without compromising the extension in the bass range. This
results in a very wide sound stage with great instrumental separation. The
music maker is able to extract and enjoy every little detail in the music.

Building on Audio-Technica’s analogue heritage and over 50 years of Japanese audio design, the AT-LP5x features upgraded technology while keeping the contemporary style and acclaimed performance of its predecessor, the AT-LP5.

The LP5x retains the J-shaped tonearm, a design inspired by the classic Audio-Technica models of the 1960s and ’70s, and features a metallic gimbal suspension system and precision bearings to mitigate tracking errors. AXA35 is a well-connected amp, with no less than 4 pairs of RCA inputs, plus a pair of phono sockets for a turntable and a pair of recording outputs. There’s a rear USB socket for technical upgrades. Hi-fi quality speaker binding posts (connectors), compatible for banana plugs, mean that thick cable connects securely for an authentic sound.

Solid as The Rock
Home theatre speaker engineering starts with the cabinet. Computer-aided design (CAD) was used extensively to refine SX120’s internal structures, to ensure that while the driver is vibrating with your soundtrack, the cabinet isn’t. This means that every millimetre of movement from the sub-bass is directed where it should be.

How Low Can you Go?
SX120 has a large 203mm (8") long-throw woofer, made from specially treated paper. Audio manufacturers have been using it for years, as paper’s impressive strength-to-weight ratio is matched by excellent tonality – allowing movie soundtracks to hit new atmospheric depths.

One Driver, In Sync
Matching a subwoofer to the other speakers in your setup can feel complicated. Our team in London took great care and attention when designing the amplifier inside SX120. You can adjust the bass frequencies to mesh perfectly with the rest of your speaker setup. The result? Your films sound engaging, energetic and full of atmosphere.

Engineered, Front to Back
The attention to detail on SX120 runs from front to back. There are two neat bass reflex ports around the back, allowing you to adjust the sub-bass by relative position from the wall. You’ll also find switches and knobs to fine-tune the subwoofer’s performance (when you set it up) in relation to the other speakers in your setup.

Designed for Real Life

Accuracy of timing and stereo imaging depend on phase remaining completely linear, from top to bottom. The result? Your music sounds engaging, energetic and real.

Engineered, Front to Back
Attention to detail on SX60 runs from front to back. There’s a neat bass reflex port, directly under the woofer, which emphasises lower frequencies to provide rich engaging sound. Clearaudio’s V2 MM technology uses ebony as a resonanceresistant body. Other ingredients of the recipe for success are the most effective reduction of moving mass, an optimised polishing technique for the stylus and highly effective cartridge damping. This is precision engineering in the pursuit of the best sound.

The Clearaudio V2 moving magnet cartridges are meticulously measured, analysed, and hand-selected into four Performance levels. In this way Clearaudio achieves the best stereo channel
matching, minimum phase error and distortion, flattest frequency response and highest dynamic range at each price point. The cartridges produce an audiophile sound of superlative quality – spatially detailed and vividly textured, with bass that does not wallow and treble that is not harsh.
