The collaboration between Reggae Disco Rockers and Tina, a diva celebrating her 25th anniversary, has finally come to fruition. Maurice Fulton's outrageous remix of "The Fall" by Rhye has been cherished as a stone-cold masterpiece for the past decade. Out of print almost immediately, its legend has only grown and for too long it's been impossible to find a copy without parting with considerable cash. We've wanted to remedy this situation for years so we're delighted to announce that we've finally given it the Be With treatment.

The word ‘genius’ is bandied about liberally but it's fair to anoint Maurice Fulton with such lofty praise. Sheffield’s king of oddball disco, Fulton is one of our favourite artists, an outerspace-minded producer with roots in Baltimore club music who has no problem injecting dank interplanetary funk into the smoothest of acts. And so it goes with his remix of "The Fall". Rich and typically off-kilter, this is spellbinding disco par excellance. Fulton arms the track with a juddering electro-funk synth-bassline before shifting to a twanging disco reverb and conga-led, crash-cymbal-elevated groove.

Essential doesn't even cover it; it's just astonishingly good.

The gorgeous original, situated here on the flip, is a sublime serenade, all twinkling strings and sweet, sumptuous vocals over smooth, jazzy piano styles. It earned comparisons to Sade, Air and the xx upon initial release and it's still easy to understand why; it's warm and buoyant yet deeply melancholy. Elegantly downlifting, you could say.

Simon Francis remastered the original audio for both tracks and Cicely Balston's precise cut for Alchemy at AIR Studios ensures this 12" well and truly slaps. The immaculate Record Industry pressing will ensure this incredibly sought-after masterpiece finds a home in many more DJ boxes this and every year.

Riccardi Schola is back with Double A-sider 7“ Single. Both songs are like a private press Italo Disco single from the 80s with a new influence in a rough production. The first song „Mistake Disco“ is with the Italian singer Giada Pesce who also works with Riccardi on his debut „On my mind“ on Bordello A Parigi. The second song „M’hai preo il cuore“ is a lovely ballad sung by the Italian singer Giulia aka GGG (her DJ name) with Riccardi on back vocals.

Both songs spread the pure love to the early Italo Disco. Enjoy and listen and dance!

A Disco Reggae cover of BOB MARLEY's immortal classic “could YOU BE Loved” in a Vortex sound! "Could You Be Loved“, one of BOB MARLEY's best-known songs, has been given a new spin on Disco Reggae by Robert ‘’dubwise”” Browne, while remaining faithful to the original! The song starts with an a cappella chorus and then moves on to the guitar riff that is essential to this song. The gradual build up of the song will shake both your body and your heart! An instrumental version is included on the reverse side. The mix engineer is Steven Stanley, who created the innovative sounds of Grace Jones, Tom Tom Club, and others.

The edit master Romain FX, opened the release with one of his “secret weapon”. Then Maison Blanche, who join the team with a smashing dancefloor track. And to finish Baume, offer his own vision of “Edit” with these 3 lovely gems.

One of the most interesting publishing events of the 1980s were special British editions of Italian, French or German productions containing PWL remixes. Behind PWL name were producers associated with the hit trio Stock/Aitken/Waterman, which promoted a number of great artists, including Dead Of Alive, Banarama and Kylie Minogue to name a few. PWL’s remixes for London Boys and Blue System became evergreens. And since the group of artists associated with Disco Nostalgic included those who sounded like Blue System, the label decided to refer to the events of 1989 and prepared an EP with remixes inspired by the mixture of German and British euro disco.

The carbon footprint left by the Modern Talking duo is undeniable. Already in the 1980s, the sound created by Dieter Bohlen, Luis Rodriguez and Rolf Kohler was an inspiration for many producers of electronic disco music from countries such as the Italy, France, USA, Greece, Netherlands, Sweden or Switzerland. Nostalgia for romantic disco does not fade away, and one of its most interesting representatives is the Romanian project Romantic Avenue. Perfectly recreated sounds and progressions, as if they were created back in 1985 in studio 33. Anyone who brings tears to their eyes when they mention Modern Talking will be delighted when putting this record on the turntable.

As the name suggests, Sai Galaxy represents a star-studded cluster of artists from around the world – their varied styles colliding to form a refreshing fusion of classic Afrobeat, disco and West African funk. Drawing from the influence of 70s and 80s Nigerian artists such as Nkono Teles, Jake Sollo and Mike Umoh, the Sai Galaxy collective is on a mission to reproduce the analogue warmth and groove from those decades. Consequently, they lean heavily on 70s production techniques - free from the predictable rigidity of digital sequencing. Spearheaded by Australian multi-instrumentalist Simon Durrington (from Digital Afrika), the members include Olugbade Okunade - former trumpet player from Seun Kuti’s Egypt 80 - as well as guests Gabriel Otu, Ray Lédon and Vanessa Baker. While the EP seeks to reflect 70s production, glimpses of contemporary elements can be found in the arrangements and harmonies, at times reminiscent of modern artists such as Lord Echo, Bosq and Voilaaa. The star-studded Sai Galaxy project returns, bringing together West African legends Steve Monite and Rob with multi-instrumentalist Simon Durrington, guitar maestro Alfred Bannerman and Egypt 80 trumpet player Bade for a second EP of vital Afro-disco and soul.
The EP follows up 2022’s Get It As You Move EP, blending layers of vocal harmonies and synth washes with a rock-solid disco base. The sound stays faithful to the analogue production techniques of the 70s and 80s, adding a modern touch informed by Durrington’s Digital Afrika project.
Lead single ‘Hold You Tonight’ features Nigerian disco icon Steve Monite (best known for his mega hit ‘Only You’), revisiting his 80s origins with a dancefloor-ready slice of dubbed out boogie. ‘Rich Man Poor Man’ (featuring Ghana’s very own ROB) slows down the tempo and brings the highlife influence to the fore, while ‘Sometimes It Rains’ brings a neo soul bump with the Omar-esque sound of Fijian vocalist Kaivili.

Giorgio Records and Bordello A Parigi strike again with another collabo for the official reissue of a sought-after italo disco track; Salentino’s ‘You’ll Be In Paradise’! Produced in Riccione’s Real Sound studio in 1985; restored and remastered almost forty years after its release with an additional remix and extended DJ edit by Franz Scala and Casionova.

Sam Redmore's forward thinking eclectic global grooves continue to shine bright. Known for making feel good tracks that effortlessly straddle across electronic, jazz, latin and afro music, Sam returns with the sublime cover of Dames Brown's 'What Would You Do?' featuring outstanding vocals by Lumi HD and a team of quality backing singers and musicians. The 1980s were an iconic era for electronic dance music, with each country delivering a wave of standout artists and producers whose names and music are now etched in music history. One of Germany’s notable figures in this scene was Mike Mareen, both a producer and performer, who also ran his own label, Night’n Day Records. Among the label’s successful releases was the now somewhat forgotten gem, Sammy Allen’s single “Slave To Love.”

Today, this record has become a sought-after item among collectors, leading to its reissue. The re-release not only brings back the original track but also includes a previously unreleased version from the original recording sessions, along with a special DJ Edit designed specifically for seamless mixing. Delores Galore Dive into the electrifying artistry of Delores Galore! Based in New Orleans, she swiftly stamped her name in the music scene with her debut album in 2019. Drawing inspiration from chic, Robin S, and MBV, Delores Galore blends elements from Electronic, House, and Alternative R&B to create a unique sound that lures you to the dance floor with lush melodies and rhythms. Melbourne's Sgt Slick returns with another 4 superb re-edits for Vol 3 of his massive Recuts imprint. 20 years deep in the game, accolades aplenty, collabs with some the finest out there and a serious string of his own productions, Sgt Slick knows what works on the dancefloor and these edits showcase that to a T. Featuring some of the biggest names around mixed for the floor, as always Buy or Cry.

It was the he first ever record produced by Eddie O Loughlin who would later establish the famous Next Plateau label. “I Specialize In Love” spent three weeks at number two on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart. The single also charted on the UK Singles Chart, and charted In the Dutch Top 15 thus becoming an international club hit. A remixed version of the song was released in 1994, entering the UK Singles Chart for a second time.

Ben Liebrand now steps up and delivers yet again with his Classic Rework and the more club oriented DJ Mix. He manages to retain the pure disco vibe of street and fusion sounds, that, along with a simple rap is total boogie pop. Fantastic and still sounding as fresh as it did forty years ago. If you live anywhere outside of Richmond Virginia you may have never heard of Sharpp. The group formed in the early 80s consisting of high school friends led by keyboard player Josh Fertel. They played cover songs mainly, performing around the fan, and at high school dances. With some gig money they managed to record two original titles at the defunct Harbor Sounds Studios. That would be their sole output, released locally on a 7” single, handed out to band members, friends and fam.

Remembering the Classic tune "Let Your Body Do The Talkin", Shock was an amazing Funk band run by Marlon McClain & Roger Sause. The Lies EP is an extended version of the mega rare and expensive 12" released in 2011 on Boogie Times Records. It features the songs Lies as a splendid Tony Massera re-edit Version, as well as the original version from 1984. Work Your Body is featured as well and new added on this version is now the song YOU GOT THE Love, which has never been released before on vinyl.
