Finally the debut full length LP from Aeon Seven is upon us! After a production career going back to the year 2000, this French maestro has been a creative force in all areas of production, DJing and animation. First gaining some serious attention from the funk/breaks community worldwide with his exceptional Funky Furious EP (2005), he has gone on to produce a clutch of incredible mix tapes that beautifully reveal his deft touch on the turntables and in the studio, he's written a couple of singles for 45 Live Records and produced some slick DJ tools with the Thundercuts series on both 7" and 12". Throughout all this time Aeon Seven has been honing his craft both musically and visually. His love of the instrumental, and obvious love of soundtracks, psyche and jazz come through in all of his productions. From the downbeat and wonderfully eerie and atmospheric themes of "The Hidden Hand", the cosmic harp led soundscape of the opening track "Outer Space Illusion" to the uptempo and funky blaxploitation vibes of "Mankind Hunt", Aeon Seven's grasp of songwriting is mature and expertly executed.

After making a buzz among City Pop lovers with their past two releases in 2021 and 2022, Bloco & Soul Essentials returns with their highly anticipated third single, now available on a 7-inch vinyl. The A-side features an original song, written, composed, and arranged by Mica and produced by Noriki Kobayashi. The B-side is a cover of Chicago's SSW artist Faith Pillow, which is a must for soul fanatics. Just like before, the recording took place at Sapporo Geimori Studio, with the band capturing the live feel in a single take. The mixdown and mastering were also done locally, making it a pure Hokkaido sound.

"I've been playing music with my brother all my life and now with Eric for a long time," Tony tells us. "Leon, though, is like another brother I've just met." Leon Michels, Big Crown's co-owner, produced this record and applied his unmistakable golden touch in crucial ways. The other member of the extended Brainstory brotherhood whose contributions were essential to the album, is studio engineer legend Jens Jungkurth who controls the tones and textures of the music. "This record isn't half what it is without them_and it made us want to match that effort," and match that effort they did. The guitarist/producer is back at the helm with a fresh set of tunes under his "Chico Mann" moniker since his 2013 '80s electro-funk and boogie album "Magical Thinking". Founding the hard rock meets West African funk outfit Here Lies Man during his hiatus, his new effort seamlessly melds his dual musical personas which is inherent in the title of the album.

Starting out as a collaboration with bassist JP Maramba, "Come Inside" soon became one of the high points and an integral part of their live show with its frenetic energy. Conceptually, the music is an expression of the chaos and fast pace of modern life while extending an invitation to leave the door open to a new way to interface with the world that is more balanced and values authentic experiences over materialism.
