Psychedelic Garage & Heavy Psych From The Golden Voice Label'. If you think that all the cool & obscure U.S garage-psych 45s have been already exhumed, please listen to this! Golden Voice was a custom label and state-of-the art studio based in Pekin, Illinois. In the 1960s-'70s, countless garage bands from the area recorded there, releasing custom-made 45s in very limited quantities. This vibrating scene had not been documented, 'til the release of this 15-track compilation. The music here is prime cut hard psychedelia, punk-a-delic sounds and proto hard-rock from the late '60s-early '70s with lot of fuzz-wah guitars, groovy organs and effects. All tracks are taken from obscure 45s and previously unreleased master tapes.

Quarta Pagina (Poliziesco) is an unique obscure recording by The Braen's Machine Now available for all music library lovers." - Despite a long series of reissues and rediscoveries that are throwing the ultimate light on one of the most fascinating and enigmatic periods of Italian music history - that of sonifications - the project that goes by the name Braen's Machine continues to evade categorization, and positive information. If you are among the many who got their hands on the beautiful "Underground", republished by Schema a few months ago, you will already know of the involvement of, among others, Piero Umiliani, Alessandro Alessandroni - the name Braen seems to be his alias - and Oronzo (Rino) De Filippi, real name of the other credited author, the mysterious Gisleri. For this new chapter from Braen's Machine, the beautiful and hard to come by "Quarta Pagina (Poliziesco)", published apparently in 300 copies, there are few available pieces of information, pointing to an involvement of Giuliano Sorgini, hidden under the name of Raskovich, and author of five out of the eleven tracks on the release.

The lack of reliable information and the enigmatic flavor surrounding the project Braen's Machine, as opposed to the ease with which the music allows us instant identification, are among the secrets that make their records unique. Unlike "Underground", "Quarta pagina" portrays with great skill some possible - who knows if they ever have been realized - crime scenes, with hard-boiled and dark atmospheres, alternating with the psych funk rides that have always characterized many of the projects related to the Italian cinematic genre. All this without excluding, however, avant-garde attitudes and atonal passages that makes "Quarta pagina (Poliziesco)" comparable to the best pages of the Gruppo d'Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza.

The track titles, fascinating as usual, tell of "Fraud", "Shadowing", "Remorse", "Soliciting", and emphasize decisive moments as in the case of "The Victim", "On the Run" or "In Prison", while the indications that accompany the pieces will be a treat for fanatical collectors of sonifications. It's not that hard to imagine situations of "exotic full moon, preparation for a violent action, spiritualism, facing fear, sexual freedom, preparation for a revolt" while listening to these precious eleven tracks, which alternate between "slow and animated". And, believe it, you don't even need a dose of LSD (as per the advice of "The Den") in order to travel back to 1971, the year of the album's first release. A page 4 ("Quarta pagina") crime story perhaps, but a legacy of sound that largely deserves a nine-column headline on the front page ...

Mexican rock had a strong renaissance in the eighties, when most bands, majorly coming from the prog scene, turned to Spanish language again. One of the big acts from that era was Jorge Reyes' led Chac Mool. Chac Mool counted on its ranks with Carlos Alvarado, who was an accomplished musician on its own and who would record one of the most interesting electronic prog albums of the era, on which Reyes also collaborated. Originally released on mexican private label Momia in 1980. Carlos Alvarado's Via Lactea (Milky Way) is now reissued on vinyl 35 years later. Eurock was especially interested in electronic Cosmic Music exploring both the inner and outer spaces of sound and consciousness. Of all the great music I had heard from Germany’s Klaus Schulze to Tangerine Dream & Spain’s own Neuronium, the album by Carlos stood apart from the rest. The Wah Wah reissue, made under license from and with the help of Carlos Alvarado himself, comes with remastered sound and will include one bonus track not on the original LP. Like the original, it will be housed on a flapped envelope style cover, this time in luxury silk screened metallic copper cardboard. Features are a colour insert with photos and notes, plus a bonus Momia sticker based on the one given on the original release. This is a limited edition, only 500 copies pressed.

Prior to Stoned Jesus' first communion, affable frontman Igor Sydorenko was just another familiar face among local progressive rockers. But after rekindling his old flame for metal amidst a stormy period in his personal life, Igor and his two new bandmates went off in search of more crushing highs. When it first arrived back in 2014, even Stoned Jesus were surprised by The Harvest. Having already reached the summit of stoner metal after just two albums, the band planned on digging into their progressive rock roots. With its synth-laden passages and weaving guitar solo, "Silkworm Confessions'' definitely sows those seeds. But while it leans heavily into the album's sci-fi narrative, "Here Come the Robots" comes busting out the gate with a hard-charging riff that's so aggressively catchy, it could've been programmed by alt-rock radio. Al Doum and the Faryds continue their journey toward a New Direction. Now, they live in a futuristic Garden of Delights, inhabited by strange bright bubbles, golden wheels, water secrets and mysterious plants. From their home of Love & Nature, they set out to travel the Universe to forge a new Being together. Their typical blend of Spiritual-Jazz, Psychedelia and Afro-Latin Rock remains on the same wave, accentuating the collective rite of liberation and expansion of the spirit. There's certainly a greater lightness and airiness, expecially in the most immediate and direct arrangements to convey the message of brotherhood; because the absolute weapon lies in female voices and choirs. These chants are incisive gospel and soul sermons and their narration magically permeates throughout the album. Everything is always supported by the balance between robust and biting guitar riffs, raga-rock incursions, tribal rhythm sections and impregnable and captivating sax drifts; and echoes of the soft lysergic sound of the 60s cannot be missing. This is music of multiple forces, a sacred harmony to overcome barriers, which sees no enemies and breaks down egos. It's the playfulness and the power in making music together, the true magic recipe of these Freaky People: we are what the Universe wants!

Øresund Space Collective (øsc), formed in 2004, is a totally improvising Scandinavian space rock band and has been releasing albums since 2006. The band has played concerts & festivals all over Europe. Their music is quite diverse and influenced by the ever-changing line up in the collective. The music on this album was recorded during the October 2008 sessions that gave us the “Dead Man In Space” & “Slip Into The Vortex” releases. “Sleeping With The Sunworm” is a 56 minutes space rock jam (originally released on CD in 2011), which is split into three parts for ease of play. It starts very slow heavy and spacey with a massive sound, before the track heads into new directions with some beautiful guitar. An up-tempo section develops after ca. 15 minutes and features some intense guitar & synthesizer interaction. Due to an out of tune synthesizer, a new synthesizer section was overdubbed by Mogens. Magnus also replaced one of his guitar sections but other than these two small sections it is a completely improvised piece of music. Now, after a bit more of 10 years it is finally out on vinyl ! As an added bonus (on vinyl only), a jam from the same sessions, which we had some technical issues (the guitar tracks were missing after the first couple of minutes), has been resurrected and Greg Kozlowski (Architectural Metaphor) was kind enough to make a series of synth and guitar overdubs. This track is called “Awaken”. This was mixed by Dr Space.

Following their homonymous 1977 debut LP, 'Harmonie Solaire' is the last ever recordings the band made in 2013 with the authentic line-up of Michel Munier & Pierrick Le Bras. Obscure myths & legends with enigmatic symbols from the past versus an unpredictable future, a trip to occult sessions, weird creatures, robots from a parallel universe through the 'sui generis' sound of this zeuhlish / experimental duo. Haunting vocals, vintage synths, acid guitars & electronics are among others the basic elements composing the album's atmosphere, originally presented on this limited vinyl edition!!

Of the several Ayers BBC collections that have been assembled, this is the most interesting, focusing as it does on the most interesting phase of his solo career. Taken from four sessions (three of them from 1970), it has a good cross section of some of the better songs from his early career, including "Lady Rachel," "Whatevershebringswesing," and a revamp of his Soft Machine numbers "We Did It Again" and "Why Are We Sleeping?." About half of this is pretty uncommon material: the verging-on-tipsy "Derby Day" and "You Say You Like My Hat" don't seem to have shown up on any studio releases (though the latter appears on a recording of a 1972 show, Banana Follies), "Gemini Child" only showed up as an outtake on the Odd Ditties collection, and "Butterfly Dance" was a 1970 single. Furthermore, there's a cover of "Falling in Love Again," the pop standard whose languor lends itself well to Ayers' low, crooning voice, and "Queen Thing," which is nothing more than a brief satire of "Wild Thing." You get to hear a few different lineups of musicians as well, with the Whole World (including Mike Oldfield) backing him on two of the 1970 sessions and the Soft Machine plus David Beford and Lol Coxhill playing on the earliest 1970 session. By contrast, the 1972 session has a nice skeletal feel, for the most part drumless, with low-key reverbed guitar and harmonica

Thin Lizzy are a hard rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 1969, notorious for their twin guitar sound that would lead the band towards their greatest successes. The band was fronted by Phil Lynott who composed almost all of the band’s songs, and was the first black Irishman to achieve commercial success in the field of rock music. This is the band touring the States after their huge breakthrough record ‘Jailbreak’ and features their own spin on Bob Seger’s ‘Rosalie’ and the worldwide hit ‘The Boys Are Back In Town’.

Never-before-heard unreleased Junkshop Glam gold dust from the genre’s No.1 band. Portsmouth’s Hector are widely regarded as the very best of the Junkshop Glam Rock bands introduced to us in the early 2000s by the RPM’s lipsmackin 70’s CD series. Recently discovered archive analogue tape recordings found in the attic of frontman Phil Brown form this unique LP. The band’s original DJM singles together with “Demolition”, an unreleased third single, join forces with outtakes, demos, live and rehearsal recordings to make this release an unmissable opportunity for glam rock fans worldwide to hear more from the band whose anthem “Wired Up” has been adopted as a battle cry by a new audience of fans with books, fanzines, radio shows and club nights proudly named after it. Hector’s “Wired Up” was released in 1973. It had all the ingredients of a hit single. It should have topped the charts and launched a spectacular career for the band. In a fair world, the name “Hector” would be mentioned alongside bands like Sweet and Slade. Unfortunately, timing and luck weren’t on their side. The product was there, the press coverage was there, the Radio 1 airplay (which was everything back then) wasn’t and the kids that did hear it must have been deaf, dumb and blind. The plug was finally pulled in 1975 after their second single “Bye Bye Bad Days”, another poky punch of proto punk dressed up in a velvet glove, also failed to become a heavy-hitter. “Demolition – The Wired Up World Of Hector” is not a phoenix from the ashes. It is Pompey* from Pompeii. Tunes from the ruins. Glamour in amber; perfectly preserved. A second chance to make a first impression. Hector are back! Are you watching and listening?
