Svart Records set to release the 10 year anniversary edition of Voivod's Target Earth. 2LP edition, including a booklet with photos and extra graphics. The limited Svart exclusive colorway comes with a slipmat.

Target Earth is the thirteenth studio album, and the sixteenth release overall, by the Canadian heavy metal band Voivod, which was originally released in 2013. This is the first Voivod studio album to feature Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain on guitar (replacing the late Denis "Piggy" D'Amour) and the only one since 1991's Angel Rat with Jean-Yves "Blacky" Thériault on bass.

The main songwriters on Target Earth were Jean-Yves "Blacky" Theriault, in his first songwriting credit with Voivod since 1991, and Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain, who replaced Piggy. As Michel "Away" Langevin explained, Mongrain's role was both challenging and natural: "He had to think from his point of view how Voivod should sound like nowadays...He learned to play guitar listening to Voivod, and he knows all the albums, he's a fan of all the eras, so it feels very natural for him to write Voivodian material."

"Target Earth is somehow, against all odds, the best Voivod album since probably The Outer Limits. It’s super-prog, plenty heavy, and pretty damn weird. And it has something to offer fans of any era of Voivod’s past, while also having its own identity and direction. Welcome back, guys." - The Angry Metal Guy

"For this, VOIVOD's thirteenth studio album, ever present drummer Michel "Away" Langevin and long reinstated vocalist Denis "Snake" Belanger managed the coup of dragging founding bassist, Jean-Yves "Blacky" Theriault out of retirement, making it three-out-of-four original VOIVOD-ers - the better to facilitate new guitarist Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain's unenviable task of filling Piggy's space boots. To his credit, Mongrain blends right in, and so too does "Target Earth" blend in with numerous portions of VOIVOD's itinerant musical past, arguably making it the band's first truly "regressive" - not "progressive" - album, and, as such, likely good news for the band's oldest fans." - Blabbermouth

Kikagaku Moyo 1st self-titled album reissue. Originally released by Cosmic Eye Records in Sep 2013. Kikagaku Moyo's debut album exerts an elemental power. Enlivening their sound with sitars, percussive drums, theremins, wind instruments and ethereal vocals, the band manages to sound powerfully spacious and lazily serene all at once. Their songs can be light as air, or heavy as earth. comes with digital download Many evolve out of intense experiences of engagement with the natural world. The album’s first track, “Can You Imagine Nothing?” was written over a night spent jamming on a suspended footbridge in remote mountains. As the song progressed the bridge began to sway, making band members feel as though they were floating weightless in midair. =Band Description= Kikagaku Moyo started in the summer of 2012 busking on the streets of Tokyo.

Their second album, now available worldwide thru Overdrive Records. “When a band is described as “the new Gary Glitter” – by legendary pop Svengali Kim Fowley, no less – and their label proudly slap the quote on their website rather than irately demanding a retraction, you’re entitled to wonder what the hell is going on. The answer: Italian quintet Giuda are the greatest ’70s glam-rock band to have existed since… the 1970s. Bedecked with more handclaps and tambourines than a Pentecostal church, their second album starts with a Mud reference (‘Wild Tiger Woman’), cribs from The Sweet’s ‘Blockbuster’ (‘Teenage Rebel’) and reaches a conceptual zenith with the song title ‘Roller Skates Rule OK’. Their zeal for time travel would be frightening if they didn’t write such stomping tunes. “

It defied reason. Forming a band in order to raise from the dead a short, obscure musical period of lawlessness between 1965-67, in a day and age of predictable, artificial and uninspired "music".
Coming from the 4 corners of LA County, The Sound Reasons got it together. Locals began seeing where it was at, because, every performance they saw, the boys brought the thunder and lightning down in the form of a hip shaking, pounding, jangly, fuzz drenched soundscape. To the Sound Reasons, music is THE THING with no artificial ingredients, and real SOUL. With the Sound Reasons, Rock and Roll, really,
is alive and well. For this band, the only thing that counts is getting it tight, out of sight and nailing the elusive SOUND.
This debut release is sure to turn your party, cookout, or freakout ON because these guys have the stuff.
The stuff that defies Reason!
