Side D (Descent to Reality) of the vinyl contains a full length version (the CD contains an edit) that is a unique mixture of Indian raga and space music with just synthesizer, sitar, violin, bass and drums.

Famous for their freaked out ride down “Tobbaco Road” (included on the now legendary “A Fistful Of Fuzz” comp), Peabody Co. were a mysterious US band who left behind a set of 10” acetates, collected here for the first time. Late 60s acid-punk / garage-psych, featuring seven self-penned songs plus three terrific cover versions of “I Can’t Explain” (The Who), “Let’s Live For Today” (Rokes / Grass Roots) and the aforementioned “Tobbaco Road” (based on the Blues Magoos cover but including an extended crazed theremin/drum freak out!).
NYC psych collector Mike Ascherman recalls how he came to acquire the acetates:
"Pyramid Records was a classic small used record store that opened in 1982 or 1983 and was open for about ten years. It was a gold mine for psych and private press LPs in a time when there was virtually no competition in the City for those. On the day it opened, psych collector/dealer Paul Major walked in and found a copy of Gandalf the Grey. That was but the tip of the iceberg."
"Not long after, I made my first trip there one day after work, and it immediately became my favorite store. Over the years, I became friends with both owners. As a result, I was often given the opportunity to see the new psych arrivals before they were placed in the bins in addition to my usual digging through the store. This led to me being able to buy the first known copies of such gems as Daybreak on RPC (offered to me) and the first BLO LP (2 copies, one the same day as I found my only copy ever of Spirits & Worm - all for $15 each)."
"One day in 1990, I came into the store and was shown a set of 10" acetates that one of the owners had just unearthed in one of his well-guarded secret digging spots. He asked me if I'd ever heard of a band called Peabody Co., to which I replied I had not. He then played their cover of Tobacco Road and I was instantly hooked. He then offered the set to me at a moderately hefty but very reasonable price. It took me about two seconds to hand him the cash. The rest is, as they say, history, leading up to now, when they are finally being given the LP release they should have had over 50 years ago. Many thanks to Alex and Out-sider for making a dream become reality."

The limited-edition, one-sided Record Store Day 7'' vinyl represents the last live performance of Pink Floyd with David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright all together in 2007. This special performance of Arnold Layne took place at the Syd Barrett Tribute Concert at The Barbican on 10 May 2007, with Pink Floyd members augmented by Jon Carin (Keyboards, vocals) and Andy Bell from Oasis on bass guitar. After a star-studded line-up throughout the evening, Pink Floyd took to the stage for an incredibly emotional finale. B-side of the single, which features an exclusive etching of handcuffs to echo the sleeve and the song's lyrics.

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary year of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’, Roger Waters announces the release of his homage to the original, ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon Redux’ Waters says ‘when we recorded the stripped down songs for the Lockdown Sessions, the 50th anniversary of the release of The Dark Side Of The Moon was looming on the horizon. It occurred to to me that The Dark Side Of The Moon could well be a suitable candidate for a similar re-working, partly as a tribute to the original work, but also to re-address the political and emotional message of the whole album. I discussed it with Gus and Sean, and when we’d stopped giggling and shouting ‘You must be ****ing mad’ at one another we decided to take it on. It’s turned out really great and I’m excited for everyone to hear it. It’s not a replacement for the original which, obviously, is irreplaceable. But it is a way for the seventy nine year old man to look back across the intervening fifty years into the eyes of the twenty nine year old and say, to quote a poem of mine about my Father, “We did our best, we kept his trust, our Dad would have been proud of us”. And also it is a way for me to honour a recording that Nick and Rick and Dave and I have every right to be very proud of.’ As founding member, lyricist, and principal composer of Pink Floyd during the band’s most influential and creative period, Roger Waters has achieved global success and global renown. Waters co-founded Pink Floyd in the mid-1960s. Under Waters’ guidance, Pink Floyd made a series of best-selling albums during the 1970s, of which the most successful and iconic were The Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. Roger Waters left Pink Floyd in 1985 and is now one of the most successful solo artists in the world.

Sandy Bull’s unorthodox approach to guitar was as unique as his personal circumstances. Son of jazz harpist Daphne Hellman and brother to the sitarist Daisy Paradis, Bull became part of the bourgeoning Greenwich Village folk circuit. A move to San Francisco in 1963 found him sharing an apartment with Nubian oud master, Hamza El Din, which had a profound effect on his playing, spurring early world music experiments. Shaghayegh was an Iranian rock band that emerged in the mid-1960s. They only released one EP, which was released under two different labels (Royal and Monogram), both versions rare as hell and go try find one. and their original vinyl records are some real highly rarity. Only four tracks are known to exist from the band, and they were printed on two different labels at the time.

Now it’s reissued thanks to the mighty Juzz label out of Tehran, bringing their garage-beat particular sound to a new life, in a well-cared production, limited to 500 copies in grey vinyl and beautiful cover.

Shiver emerged in the early 1970’s from the psychedelic fires of the legendary San Francisco music scene. Carrying the blazing torch that Blue Cheer ignited several years earlier, Shiver developed a massive heavy rock sound that combined riff-heavy psychedelia with epic powerful jams, such as their 15-minute long classic “Alpha Man”. Shiver was an explosion of wild guitar solos and manic vocals erupting over throbbing drumming and thumping bass! With a sound that was tough as nails and wondrously exploratory, they were loved by hippies and bikers alike!

Originally laid to tape on a 2-track machine in 1972, these songs are but a taste of the power that Shiver brought to the stage as a live act! This LP was first issued by the Rockadelic label in 2000, and Yunque Records is proud to present this Newly Remastered and first ever reissue. It includes two tracks Previously Unreleased on vinyl, an insert with newly restored photos, and liner notes by drummer Don Peck. In addition, special care was taken to pay respect to Don’s original design of the LP.

Formed by two Swedish young latent Joseph Merrin and Samuel Andre, who were also schoolmates, Smooth Reunion came into existence on Christmas in 2006. In the following year, 2007, they gained attention among light mellow music fans in Japan with the release of their debut EP, "Scandinavian Bus Mentality."

The core of Smooth Reunion consists of Joseph, who handles guitar, bass, keyboard, and vocals, and Samuel, who manages drums, percussion, and vocals. They complement their sound with a horn section, chorus, and more, creating a remarkably stable and vintage-infused musical experience.

Their music draws its greatest influence from their shared favorite, Steely Dan, particularly the sound of the late 1970s, around "Aja" and "Gaucho." Their music serves as a blend of pop at its core, infused with the smooth essence of jazz and fusion, as well as the introduction of soul and R&B feelings. They manage to bring back this high-quality city pop sound into the contemporary era with exquisite precision, adding a fresh, youthful touch that's characteristic of the younger generation. These are are the only known songs by each of these groups. Both are Junkshop Glam sourced straight from the only known acetates from circa '74. Restored and mastered by Danilo Silvestri (Giuda). Snooty sounds a bit like a mashup of Harpo's “Teenage Queen” and Muff's “Sexy Lady”, while the flip side reminds us a bit of Pantherman vocal-wise. Featuring drummer extraordinaire Keith Carlock (Steely Dan, Toto, John Legend, Sting) and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Holm-Lupo (White Willow, The Opium Cartel, Donner) as well as up-and-coming guitarist Stian Larsen and keyboardists Brynjar Dambo (White Willow) and Bill Bressler, Solstein is a project that melds the groovier side of fusion with elements of prog and funk. The project was born after Holm-Lupo and Carlock collaborated with legendary guitarist Georg Wadenius on a track for Holm-Lupo’s Donner project. The collaboration worked so well that the pair decided to work together again on a whole album. Solstein is not your typical 2020s fusion affair. A lot of inspiration has been taken from the funkier, more melodic end of the spectrum, with the band name-dropping The Crusaders, Idris Muhammed, early Bob James and 70s Herbie Hancock. Given some of the member’s prog backgrounds, there are also echoes of the jazzier side of prog, like Camel, Happy the Man and some of the Canterbury scene bands. Holm-Lupo and Carlock’s shared love of Steely Dan also shines through in a number of tracks. More than anything, though, Solstein is a playground for the musicians, where everyone was given free reins to do whatever they felt the music needed. If it put a smile on everyone’s face, it was deemed right. The result is an album that is accessible yet adventurous, colourful, groovy and engaging.

Enter the Mirage is arguably the most blazing and powerful album yet by The Sonic Dawn. It has an unusual live feel for a studio album, packing much of the raw energy and electricity that has made The Sonic Dawn’s psychedelic concerts famous in the rock underground. Enter the Mirage’s overall theme is freedom. It is about visions that may seem too distant to be real, but only those who take the trip will ever really find out. Frontman, Emil Bureau, explains about the album’s inception: “First I lost my father, then I lost my job and finally I lost my will to be a servant of anything that isn’t peace, love and freedom. It should be simple, but in this world it isn’t. Instead of getting back on the so-called career path, which is generally a dead end, I took a leap of faith, with the band’s support.” Bureau spent half a year in a songwriting frenzy, spawning not only Enter the Mirage by The Sonic Dawn, but also a solo album in the folk genre (available via Heavy Psych Sounds). To give form to these song ideas, the Danish trio rented a space in the gloomiest part of Copenhagen, set up a studio there and rocked out for two months. You hear that roughness, present as a determined attitude from a tightly knit band. With three past albums and some 200 shows under their belt, The Sonic Dawn is a psychedelic group to be reckoned with. However, at the end of their long and laborious creative process, the band was completely broke. Fortunately, friend and former producer, Thomas Vang, allowed them to mix the album in The Village Recording at night, after his own sessions. Thanks to this, and a skillful mastering by Hans Olsson Brookes (Graveyard et al.) Enter the Mirage puts the HIGH back in high fidelity. Turn up the volume and experience The Sonic Dawn.
