Born out from the ashes of legendary Florida garage band The Tropics (of “As Time’s Gone” fame), Bacchus was a powerful psychedelic/hard-rock/boogie power trio influenced by Cream, Hendrix, Allman Brothers et al. They only released four rare 45s, collected here for the first time. When Eric Turner (guitarist, vocalist and songwriter), grew into a more progressive form of rock music after a split from The Tropics, he teamed up with fellow Tropics bass player Charlie Souza and drummer Bill Peterson: Bacchus (named after the Roman God of wine) was born. In 1970 they opened for Cactus and Free and after the good response, they recorded their first 45, the fab hard-rock sounding “Carry My Load”. From there they went on tour with Grand Funk Railroad around the state. After more 45 releases, Bacchus was also the opening act for Lynyrd Skynyrd, BB King, The Outlaws, Redbone, Edgar Winter, and Ted Nugent. They also had the privilege to open a Florida concert for Mahavishnu Orchestra and appeared on the free stage at the Atlanta Pop Festival, just before Grand Funk Railroad on the main stage. Famous also in the recent years for appearing on one the famous Brown Acid volumes, a vinyl / digital comp of their complete output was long overdue. Here it is. Play Loud!

Altın Mikrofon (Golden Microphone) is a music contest organized in 1965 by "Hürriyet", one of the biggest newspapers of the time. The first Golden Microphone contest was organized in 1965. The qualifiers of the 2nd Competition organized in 1966 were held in 9 hours in front of a jury including the famous artist Zeki Müren. This time 7 finalists were selected and their contest tracks were released as 45 rpm singles. They gave concerts in Izmir, Ankara, Istanbul, Bursa, Bursa, Eskişehir, Samsun and Konya. The last concert was again held in Istanbul. Silhouettes won the contest with 4563 votes. Second place was Blue Lights with 2850 votes, just like last year. The third with 2382 votes was Selçuk Alagöz. The finalists Kent Yedilisi, T.P.A.O.Batman Orkestrası, Cahit Oben, Siluetler, Ali Atasagun, Mavi Işıklar and Selçuk Alagöz Orkestrası shaped the Turkish Pop Music and Anatolian Rock movement

It has always been the goal of the group to connect the dots between their influences, to reconcile disparate vintage ideas that perhaps never coexisted in their original place and time! To give life to a NEW artistic vision that synergizes them together like a warm blanket, both familiarly ancient and cosmically NOW! And with all of that sonic information of the past, not to mention a healthy dose of great taste, The Golden Grass concoct their magick brew and are able to conceptualize and materialize music in such a particular way that it screams timelessly from long ago, but could only happen IN This Very Moment! Life IS much stranger after all…. This album was conceived over the past several years, through chaos and confusion, during a global pandemic that forced the band to work in new/unconventional ways they had never before imagined. The music on this album has never seen an audience. These songs have never been performed. And in fact, the recording of the album was the first time the members of the group even understood what their new creations sounded like! The initial writing sessions began in the summer of 2019, but were obviously halted in early 2020 due to the situation. Over the next two years, the band did their best to move forward with the process but rehearsals were infrequent, sickness and health threats always barking at the door, and a constant unknown of what was to come; was there any future for their art at all?...But slowly and disjointedly, they assembled their musical ideas into 7 rough pieces that would soon comprise “Life Is Much Stranger”. From Sept-Oct of 2022, the group worked with a team of engineers across three studios in NYC, recording and mixing the tracks, sculpting their rough song-forms into polished, yet quite surreal, glistening gems! And when they emerged with a finished product, the bizarre and strange events of the previous 3 years all melted into a perfect picture, a complete totality, crystal clear, wholly avant-garde and spellbinding! “Life Is Much Stranger” is an amalgamation of hard rock boogie, jazzy progressive rock, psychedelic exploration and incendiary proto-metal all bursting with soulful harmony-layered vocals, masterful instrumental technicality and an otherworldly creative ambition…and it sounds Fucking Great!

Dee Dee Ramone I.C.L.C. (Inter-Celestial Light Commune) was formed by Dee Dee and John Carco in 1994 in New York City. After several live shows and drummers as a the three piece line up the two members decided to move to Amsterdam to record for Rough Trade Records. The four-song EP Chinese Bitch and the album I Hate Freaks Like You were both released in 1994. The band toured 22 countries in a 10-month period and they never toured in the U.S. This set in Scotland catch the big energy, some of The Ramones tracks are slower or even longer than the original versions and Dee Dee plays a wonderful version of Poison Heart all alone.

Øresund Space Collective (øsc), formed in 2004, is a totally improvising Scandinavian space rock band and has been releasing albums since 2006. The band has played concerts & festivals all over Europe. Their music is quite diverse and influenced by the ever-changing line up in the collective. The material on this LP was recorded in October 2010 on the 2nd day of recording and features a lot of different musicians from days 1 and 3. A lot of the material has a funky nature, but it is a very diverse album with a nice chillout sitar number and a lot of space rock!! Some of the tracks have been edited for the vinyl edition. Recorded at the Black Tornado Studios in København, Denmark in Oct. 2010 by Lars Lundholm Mixed & mastered by Dr Space at Estúdio Paraíso Nas Nuvens, Portugal in 2020 with sonic advice from Hasse Horrigmoe Artwork / layout by David Graham

Jimi Hendrix In Maui with the accompanying live performances on both audio and video. The film chronicles the Jimi Hendrix Experience's storied visit to Maui, their performance on the dormant lower crater of Haleakala volcano on the island and how the band became ensnared with the ill-fated Rainbow Bridge movie produced by their controversial manager Michael Jeffery. Directed by John McDermott and produced by Janie Hendrix, George Scott and McDermott, the documentary incorporates never before released original footage and new interviews with firsthand participants and key players such as Billy Cox, Eddie Kramer, Warner Bros. Executives and several Rainbow Bridge cast members, as well as it's director Chuck Wein. The Blu-ray will include the full documentary as well as the 16mm color film shot of the two afternoon performances captured on July 30, 1970 mixed in both stereo and 5.1 surround sound. Also included in the package will be Live In Maui - both of the aforementioned sets spread across 2 CDs, newly restored and mixed by longtime Jimi Hendrix engineer Eddie Kramer, and mastered by Bernie Grundman. Historical Graffiti is the band’s fourth full-length, out in 2016. Gary Arce, the guitarist, seems comfortable sitting on a single vamp throughout the opener ‘The Wind Cries Edalyn’, allowing the additions of violin and bandoleon accordion (played by the tango musicians Sara Ryan and Adolfo Trepiana, respectively) to weave melodies in between. Despite the titular connection to the Jimi Hendrix song, it bears no discernible resemblance to ‘The Wind Cries Mary’ and it is a deceptive number; what seems such a simple, almost easy-listening song reveals more colour with every listen. ‘Her Phantom Finger of Copenhagen’ is slightly darker and almost sounds, with the slight distortion on Arce’s guitar, as if it could have come from Pot Head, the EP the band released in 2005. Mario Lalli, the bass player, begins the third song, ‘Naomi Crayola’ with a throbbing single note, aided by Bill Stimson’s metronomic drumming. Imagine if Can grew up near the beach, it’s that sort of vibe. The only problem with the song – and the album, as it happens – is that it is too short. Ryan’s violin returns in ‘The Secret Language of Elephants’, this time playing the role of keeping the main vamp alive while Arce’s guitar generates an evocative soundscape that opens in your mind a wide, violet sky like that above a desert the moment after the sun disappears for the night. The closing song and title track is the most free of the five on the album, with Stimson’s beat conjuring memories of Kyuss’s more mellow moments from Welcome to Sky Valley, Lalli’s bass marking the simplest of bottom ends and Arce having a ball over the top. Formed in London’s Islington borough in 1970, Grit would perform their heavy psychedelic rock locally for three years, disbanding and disappearing before they could sign a contract with a record label. Their sole recorded output was a three-track demo, recorded in 1972, of which only two copies were ever pressed. One of those copies made its way to Germany, where it was discovered in a flea market by record collector and psychedelic rock expert Hans Pokora. After being featured in Pokora’s “7001 Record Collector Dreams” and being awarded the maximum grade of rarity, the record quickly became an object of desire for crate diggers around the world. It didn’t take long for somebody to track down original guitarist Frank “Spider” Martinez, and with the original master tapes he still had in his possession, reissues were off to the races!

And for good reason - not only is this record incredibly rare, but the heavy psychedelic rock is unparalleled, with comparisons to Cream, Jimmy Hendrix, and John Mayall hardly doing it the justice it deserves. Trees Speak's debut record, Trees Speak, is the band's first of five albums they've produced in half a decade, and it is finally getting its worldwide reissue to their fans' long-awaited anticipation. Released on Cinedelic Records. Before their first album, they planned to create music with an unrehearsed approach performing simple beats, riffs, sequences, and going by instinct. They endeavored to create an auditory environment that let the listener's mind to be set free of tone, melody, and structure. They began to experiment with sounds, blending vintage aesthetics and equipment, which led them on an unexpected journey into creating and producing records. Always with their roots in 1960s-70s jazz, rock and roll, and experimental music they began to experiment with live sound performances and performance art. The band's live performances dramatically captured their idea of merging early experimental music such as the Dadaist, John Cage, and early electronic experimental music. While their music might seem organic and unrehearsed, the band has developed an creative way of communicating ideas into sound using visual art. For example, they use diagrams when communicating a musical idea. The band often refers to musical diagrams to express dynamics, chords, key signatures, and emotional expressions. These graphic notations are a template to communicate esoteric concepts, which they ingeniously transform into their music. They also use this form of illustrated art expression during live performances and in-studio recordings. It is a simple way to explain an overarching idea through music and art. Trees Speak are Daniel Martin Diaz and Damian Diaz both appear also on the album by Others (Cinedelic Records).

Caligula formed in 1984 in New York City and were part of that legendary wave when punk and metal bands started crossing each other's territory and playing shows together. Caligula raised their banner high playing shows with the likes of Whiplash, Carnivore, Sheer Terror, Crumbsuckers, Agnostic Front, Rest IN Pieces and many more. "Technical Aggression" is their 1987 Demo featuring five songs of fast and violent thrash metal that betrays the hardcore influence only in its speed and in the super-aggressive approach. The LP version features 4 extra never heard before tracks recorded live at the CBGB's in 1987 with an incredibly good sound. The CD version features the whole CBGB's show as bonus and two additional tracks recorded live in 1988, never heard before as well. Squadra Omega is one of the bands which best represents the vast spectrum of the Italian underground. Psychedelic, avant-garde, jazz-rock, improvisation, kraut-rock, rock in opposition and ethno-tribalism blend seamlessly into the work of a collective that moves and expands depending on the urgency of the moment, focused around a core that rotates around the two members OmegaMatt and OmegaG8. In the band's wide discography we find compositional freedom, improvised jam-sessions in and a amplitude of references, all of which move between different spaces and times.

Materia Oscura (Dark matter) offers a glimpse at the same time the soil of the "rock" matter as well as the alien, seen from multiple points of view, neighbors and materials distant and mysterious. Three tracks that stretch their eyes at Orient or Africa as well as into the depths of the cosmos, landing on the side of the art-rock of the '70s and towards some psychedelic, visionary, cinematic drives then explode into a real ecstatic trip. Inputs from Coltrane, Canterburian jazz-rock, Grateful Dead and Synthy-Space views are melted into free-form landings until they discover their own personal form of prog. Different Universes collide and coexist in the band in a constant mutation, maintaining faith in one single ideal: "music for the third eye”.
