Chicago house artists don't come much bigger or more accomplished than Boo Williams. The man has a famous signature sound that is full of party but never short on class. His chunky drums are always the foundational element and they come embellished with superb synth work. This new EP on Pariter finds him lean into tech with the loopy acid squelches of '303 Effect' keeping you in suspense, 'Acid Smoke' layering soft 303 lines into a punchy deep house cut and then comes the EP highlight, 'Extension Time'. It's a zoned-out roller with tender piano chords turning you inwards for deep reflection as the rubbery drums keep things moving.

It was maybe only a matter of time before DJs Luca Lozano and Dawl collaborated on a record, the two artists have been circling each other in orbit for years now. 'Cybernetik Synergy' plays on the virtual space created between the two producers while working online, the tracks on the EP were sketched out, passed back and forth in folders until they were finished...meaning the artists never actually met in person. The result is both bleepy and breaky, its a rave record that takes in the duo's influences and love of old classic dance hits. The theme of technocractic collaboration is developed further by the final (vinyl-only) track, a collection of separate stems from the A1 that enable the listeners to be able remix the tracks themselves and then send in to the label via the QR code on the sleeve.

After her debut on Mannequin in 2019, Dissemblance now arrives on L.I.E.S. with her second full length of sombre, cold wave and emotional bedroom pop infused songs. This time around we hear the Parisen artist add a new arsenal of instrumentation to her repertoire, incorporating live drumming and a wide array of synthetic instrumentation on top of her drum computers providing a backdrop to showcase her stark vocal performances throughout the album.

Meticulously constructed, this record displays the full range of Dissemblance's musical dynamics as she pulls the listener into her universe where dreams and reality tread a thin line, one blurring into the next with no beginning nor end. From the plodding opener "Mercure" where tortured voices rise from a bed of pulsing synth tones, to the tribal drumming dreamscape conjuring rhythms of "Centauresse" or heart wrenching album closer "Bon Voyage" with its ghostly 1950s oldies arrangement and pop feel, Dissemblance expertly brings together a diverse group of styles and sounds from different areas of the electronic spectrum making them her own.

Highly active in the electronic music scene in South Korea, Livigesh releases his 6th official album "303 Romance" via No Slack Records. Livigesh has immersed himself into acid house, 90's hiphop and 70's funk music while making "303 Romance." His extensive use of the 303 "acid" basslines are present throughout the album. "303 Romance" is a look into Livigesh's musical influences. Squelching acidic and funky basslines, breakbeats and abstract vocal samples present Livigesh in his most uplifting, playful and simple to date.

A new artist emerges on Jackson Lee's Mystical Disco! The Paranoid Pyramid offers its secrets in the form of six mysterious, analog messages. Side A embarks upon the Acid Quest with a plaintive Tb303 melody shrouded in dream-like pads. Time slows and sounds become stranger as one delves deeper into the Pyramid. This is the final dose of Pervocet. Pervocet is the brand name of the psychedelic music project from Patrick Russell and Jasen Loveland and is used to induce moderate to severe psychosis. The short-term effects of Pervocet last approximately 5-7 minutes and include Neighbor, Rawlo, L0v3 S1r3n, Phazy Susan and -- in some people -- a pleasant euphoria. This is one of many projects featuring Jasen Loveland aka Andrew Smith aka ? that IT will continue to release in honor and memory of him and his incredible and prophetic musical vision, showcasing his many Infinite Refractions. This project had begun years ago, and was finished with such care and precision by Patrick Russell that we are proud to release Pervocet 2 in sync with our annual No Way Back gathering in Detroit on May 29, 2023. SPF 50, real name Stephan Kimbel Olson, has graced New York’s finest sound systems with his deep, rolling club sets. In his numerous roles – DJ, engineer, party promoter, label head, producer and dancer – Stephan has become an essential contributor to New York’s nightlife culture, a fixture in the city’s extended sonic community. On Social Life, his first release with NY label Bliss Point, Stephan has channeled two booming club workouts, each with modular synthesis evoking the organic: an unruly bassline snakes through the aural fauna of “Body Concept”, while breaks and acid fly by on “Liquid Usb”, an intricate sonic constellation propelling through space, culminating in the release of classic house chords midway. On the B side, Stephan takes us deeper into the unknown. “Grove Map” is world-building club ambiance aptly named after The Grove, a stage deep in the woods at New York’s Sustain-Release festival, where portals have long been known to be opened. “Iris (Bad Water Version)”, rounds out the offering, a drippy dub that time seems to slip off of, perfect for a melted warm up or come down.

The 2nd release from Tabby Traxx is an exciting mix of acid house, jackin' house and tech house. The title track "stalker" gets a special Chicago style acid house remix by Matthew Brian.
