Cocktail d'Amore Music returns from a short hiatus with a new release from Russian producer TMO. The three tracks are tied together by a propensity for heavy rhythm construction and distorted acid lines, executed to great effect. Opening with "Last Moment Jam" , a searing main room projectile, TMO presents what is heavily inspired by early Chicago acid track. For those looking for something on the trippier end, "Drums Jam" provides a low bpm hallucination full of delays. Closing is, "Buchla 909 Jam", a 10 minute slow burn exercise in analog fundamentals for late night fantasies.

A soundtrack about a day in an imaginary city called Madrid in 1979 where kids took Opel Kaddetts to drive by in neighbourhoods like Ciudad Lineal/Ventas/San Blas. A science fiction version of the town where people listened to acid electro as well as music by flamenco rock artists of the Cano Roto Sound. And where the city and its inhabitants ressembled the comics in Metal Hurlant magazine.

Heavyweight 12" just in time to soundtrack the demise of humanity. No internet-ready 'deep' home listening tracks but a continuation of the previous 12"s. Big nods to the past, but then again it somehow seems fitting that our demise is founded on the relics of the past. For those who like to get wild or die trying!

Trackmaster Dre ode to the traditional squelching acid melting listful old school beats with Grandmaster Acid. The record contains decelerated beats married with laidback, thick and bubbly bass. The title track starts off as a raw and elastic dance floor mover, with a chamfer like 303 bassline that smooths out rougher edges. Blockhead Deuce is a simplistic track with shuffling drums that play with an impish bassline that squawks and squelches. Old school viscid synths and bass keep an aloof feel with the progression in 4th.

First V/A on Winthorpe is a 4 track EP featuring Lee Kelly (Tasetful Nudes, First Second Label) plus newcomer Ngoni backed with Crispy Jason (Solar Bears) and Splitradix.

Age in Decline marks the 50th release and 5th year in operation from Manchester based label, Natural Sciences: a v/a comp of new tracks from the contemporary underground alongside choice cuts pulled from the labels annual Future Works series available on vinyl for the first time. Get ready for the beat down.

Legowelt has been a key figure in the Dutch electronic music scene since the early nineties, steadily relea­sing timeless music that merges the pioneering sounds of Detroit and Chicago with idiosyncratic sci-fi fascinations. "Unconditional Contours" captures Legowelt's stint at the Swiss Museum for Electronic Music Instruments (smem), after he was invited to be the first artist in residence at the institution's "Playroom" project. Legowelt visited Smem in Fribourg, Switzerland, in early 2019 to explore the collection and record music. Possessing an extensive collection of synthesizers himself, he used hand-picked synthesizers from the museum's archive: the rare Farfisa Synthorchestra, the Evs-1 Evolution, the "shittiest rompler ever made", amongst many others. The 10-track album "Unconditional Contours" is both a probe into the vast collection of Smem, and a display of Legowelt's well established composi­tional qualities. Leaving ample space for new sounds to unfold, Legowelt invokes gentle trips, brooding excursions, bleep heavy soundscapes, and reimagined elements of dance music classicism. Smem and -ous are launching the "smem+ous" series to document the "Playroom" residencies. A limited edition of this album was already sent out to early supporters of the "Playroom". Founded in 2016 and based on a collection of more than 5000 synthesizers, organs, drum machines and effects that had been collected over a 35 year period by Klemens Niklaus Trenkle, Smem offers residencies, studio sessions, talks and workshops.

Atlanta artist 30303 debuts on Vault Wax with five cosmic, space-influenced live acid jams. The far-out journey begins with ethereal, spaced-out breaks and trips into darker, grittier techno turns.

Dona Aka Dj Plant Texture’s debut on Mannequin is the result of an effective true love for the early Chicago Acid and Jackbeat, mixed with textures of EBM and Cold Wave. “Mindscapes”, featuring the haunted vocals of Aloth, represents a trip into states of consciousness and psychiatric diseases. Ispired by some reports describing America’s Mental health System during the latest 70’s, the EP is a blend of analog machines, forced to create the perfect jam session.

Reemerging from the threshold of the cosmic vortex, Black Lodge returns with another sonic artifact that is charged with vigorous chaotic energy, known as Experiment_zero. Accounts of the radiant object's origin are as mysterious as the raw energy that utters from its core. Following a close study, the guardians of the portal suspect that "Experiment Zero" was a primordial experiment rooted in the slam jack pits and DIY warehouse rituals of ages passed. A sonic dialog constructed of various languages, spanning from roots-house jak to bare-knuckled electro are revealed across the artifact - a revolutionary tale that surpasses the constructs of ephemerality, with a refusal to be ignored. Across the release the listener is confronted with fearless acid lines that are underscored by a tone of revolution, and sets the stage for a human voice that switches between modes of a sharp and mutated presence. The power of such sonic objects are both celebrated and rejected by various tribal societies. It is all dependent on the belief structures and traditional histories of its members. Those that belong to the cult of Ron Hardy, Mad Mike Banks, Traxx, and JTC will welcomingly be drenched in its riotous energies. It is for the dedicated, not the light-hearted. After further research it has been discovered that, Experiment Zero is the product of Dona, aka Dj Plant Texture and Mike Tansella Jr. of Son of Traders, both products of the ancient mercantile city of Bari in Southern Italy. Previous works from these artists have been featured on Creme Organization, Gravitational Waves, Unknown to Unknown, and Illian Tapes. All sonic experimentation was recorded in one take to capture the raw energy of instantaneous collaborative sound craft operating in flux. As winter strikes, the summery SFV Acid reappears fully-fledged with some sluggish San Fernando Valley funk and his signature acidic aesthetics. Mostly slow-burning tracks that meander the boulevards, twitchy due the right dose of acid and vocal jabs scattered across. It's always summer in the valley.

So..it's time to make some noise about this release! I'm happy to welcome Riccardo & Saverio Celestri to the RAWAX Family! Her great collab on the A-side aka Planeters sounds like a fantastic journey thru time & space. The B. side belongs to Saverio who gave us 2 massive tracks on top. This bomba will be out in January 2020!

Filthy electro and acid on this new release on Klasse Wrecks' sub-label Zodiac 44! A 'as nasty as it wants to be' four tracker from new producer Ludgate Squatter, the 8th in the labels 12 release only schedule (one for each sign of the Zodiac dummy). ZCANC closely adheres to the labels 'outsider' sound, distorted drums and an atmosphere so dark, demented and paranoid you start to worry a little for the artist after listening to the music. Little is known about Ludgate Squatter and maybe thats for the best, there's an evil genius out there somewhere armed with a broken 707 and he's taking no prisoners. Recommended!!

Keep It Moving is a 6 track groove-oriented release that ventures between techno, beatdown, and downtempo styles. The release starts out with a pair of harder-edged techno cuts. The pensive, smoky "Martial State" leads the way, followed by "Struck Down Strike Up."
Next, the Chicago-based artist dives into slower tempos with the pleasingly dissonant "Cyborg Proposition" and the acidic, atmospheric, "They Don't Know". The record picks up in terms of mood and tempo for the house-leaning, "Rising Poem", before closing out with the catchy, head-nodding title track.
Samples are peppered throughout the release that help guide this record's narrative. Artwork by Chicago-based artists Ruby T. and Betty Heredia help capture the mood of the A-side and B-side respectively

On “Philadelphia 2099,” a laidback electronic vista evokes the long violet twilight that precedes sunrise on Mars. On “Tharsis Montes,” bubbling synth lines signal the industry of the day ahead, before an infectiously funky bassline is sown on “Seeds,” and alien growth is tended amid shards of interstellar synth sunlight in “Echoes From The Red Valley.”

Intense minimalist industrial acid tekno mantra beats by Albert van Abbe as Datasmok. A 'mini-concept-album' full heavy-hitting, brutal mean-and-lean, 'dirty-brown-and-miserable' psychotic visions. The Datasmok project was kickstarted by default when Guy Tavares and Albert decided to release archived tracks from Van Abbe on Tavares' Bunker Records. All tracks of this second volume of back-catalog material got special treatment in Tavares' subterranean master studio... Datasmok is one half of Penik Ettek.

Detroit imprint My Baby returns with its third musical offering, a split release from two Motor City heavyweights, in the form of Rex Sepulveda and Acid Pimp. This fledgling vinyl only label has got off to a superb start showcasing music from Detroit locals on its first two stellar Eps. With a focus on the underground sound of the city it resonates with global fans of quality house and techno and continues to do so here with four outstanding new tracks.

After releasing a bundle of records on differents labels as Mental Groove, Brique Rouge or RZ in the noughties, A Jackin Phreak's acid house project is now reactivated and brings to you three brand new tracks, fully acid influenced for your own pleasure.
Steps back again in the vibe of '88 second summer of love with the Chicago jackin' sound of 'Good As You', let yourself go and do the trance-dance to the acid groove of 'Addicted' then go further and loose your control with 'Pulsion'.
As you can expect, 'Good As You' EP is released as limited random color vinyl pressing and, as a complete artist's project, its full color sleeve is designed by the A Jackin Phreak's himself.

Finally, the long awaited follow up to DJ Duke's house classic "Old Skool Deep Sampler Vol 1, which featured homages to Marshall Jefferson (Jefferson), Fingers Inc (Fingers), Larry Heard (Heard) and Ron Trent (Trent). This follow up E.P. (Vol. 2) features another string of worthwhile homages to the late Frankie Knuckles (Knuckles), Farley Jackmaster Funk (Farley), Chip E (Chip E.xtacy) and Boyd Jarvis (Jarvis).
Duke has always respected the pioneers that created the house/club scene and set the grounds for what's become of the biggest music crazes in the world. For example, Boyd Jarvis used to play live on air with Timmy Regisford on NYC radio station 107.5 WBLS using drum machines for the beats and then play keys on top of it. Duke tried to keep the tracks as close to the feeling of these pioneers, selecting the right drum machines, sounds, and overall vibe, but still keep the tracks fresh and not derivative.

Tim returns on home label Offworld Records with a classic 4-track EP of future-focused ethereal techno and electro. A-side opener Dystopia paints a bleak post-apocalyptic image that flows into the uplifting pad-driven 303 cut Enrichment. Driving electro vibes feature on title track Echo Waves, closing out with the late-night Detroit atmospheres of Form Fatigue. Essential deep techno release on limited Color Vinyl!

HOUSEWAX presents Chicago Legend DJ Joe Lewis!

Colleagues in Japan provided us with sample product of the following audio artefact – file number ST015 – believing that it may be relevant to the Safe Trip Institute’s ongoing research in this area of study. After rigorous testing and analysis, we would like to offer the following observations:
The artefact contains two related pieces of music, which appear to be the work of a high profile pseudo-scientist known as Hoshina Anniversary.
If you listen carefully to the first piece, “Hakkenden I”, the first thing you will notice is how the lead electric piano line and repetitive electronic motifs – known in colloquial slang as “acid lines” – follow the same melodic pattern, as if Hoshina Anniversary was sending the same powerful psychokinetic instructions to a number of instruments at the same time.
In contrast, “Hakkenden II” is darker and more hallucinogenic in tone. The use of restless, arpeggio-style bass and creepy-sounding chord sequences suggest that Hoshina Anniversary momentarily lost control of his psychokinetic powers before wresting back the initiative as the recording progressed (the return of the melodies and instrumentation heard in “Hakkenden I” in the second half of the piece supports these findings).
We invite colleagues the world over to analyze and test this audio artefact further in order to increase our understanding of this thought-provoking item and its unusual Japanese creator.

A never before released version of a truly, legendary house record from the late great Frankie Knuckles…working in collaboration with The Frankie Knuckles Foundation who will receive 50% of the profits from this project, SoSure Music is proud to present the Director’s Cut re-production of ‘Baby Wants To Ride’. Alongside this, a vinyl exclusive edit by Jimmy Edgar, which was originally a tribute release after Frankie’s passing in 2014, finally gets an official release.
2011 saw the launch of Frankie and long-time production partner Eric Kupper’s ‘Director’s Cut’ project, with the aim to release new music, whilst re-producing classic cuts to fit with the modern dancefloor. SoSure Music is now working alongside Eric Kupper and Hector Romero, with the blessing of both Def Mix and The Frankie Knuckles Foundation, to bring a renewed focus to some of this material.
First up, the illustrious, evocative 1987 anthem, ‘Baby Wants To Ride’. Rightly regarded as a masterpiece of early Chicago house and a pioneering classic through and through. Knuckles and Kupper extend the intro and outro to allow for those sweeping blends, whilst adding deft touches and reprogrammed lines to give a crisper, more detailed feel to this sumptuous slice of definitive house music. Couple that with newly spiritualised vocals and fresh erotic ad libs from Jamie Principle and prepare to rekindle that infectious energy 32 years down the line.
On the B side, Jimmy Edgar showcases his trademark touch to provide a fresh spin on the original whilst staying true to its essence. Reworking the arps, adding atmospheric drops and crunchy percussive elements, whilst holding off on the iconic vocal till the last section, all combine to give this version a unique, big room character that nods to the past, yet reinterprets for the present. A fitting tribute from an artist whose own productions are clearly laced with influence from Frankie Knuckles.

Gonzo MDF is back on Counterweight with his 3rd Release and he does what he is known for and of course he does it pretty well and reckless. Tested on the crowd of their monthly Counterweight events you can be sure that this EP is a real dancefloor weapon. On the A side Fast Fast a hammering and driving track shows what this artist stands for. The Train is Leaving brings in some break beat drums that will drive any crowd pretty mad. Cerdos on the B side with some really heavy synth lines does it’s job incredibly well while Out of the Box is an ideal track to breathe some fresh air into the middle of any set.

The godfather of acid house, DJ Pierre, is back – bringing four heavyweight Chicago cuts to the fore, two of which, ‘Pinball Machine’ & ‘The Spirit’ are unreleased, exclusives. ‘Sexy Aquarian’ showcases Pierre’s unique style putting his trademark spin on this classic vocal, combining it with a bumping bass and dizzying acid lines, to trigger old memories whilst giving you something new for your mind, your body and your soul. Next up ‘Pinball Machine’ goes in heavy on the percussion – filling those speakers with a barrage of weighty toms, crisp hats and crunched up snares. The frenzied synth line bounces around relentlessly, pinging off the sides of your brain like a sonic arcade. Take to the flip for a lesson in how to take jackin' house to another level. ‘Whats Mine is Mine’ delves beyond the beat, mixing sassy vocals and spiritual organ stabs, with a touch of swing reminiscent of an era long gone. Closing out the EP, ‘The Spirit’ utilises another treasured vocal layering it behind punchy drum programming, a rumbling bass and atmospheric touches that add an ethereal tinge to the track.

FRAK are back on track with this dreamy album with deep dark hypnotic slow rhythmic tracks. This is experimental analog and haunting dancemusic at slow BPMs which gives you a glimpse of swedish smalltown dystopia in all its glory. The A1 track might give the impression that this is a romantic record and the A side in general will make big city people feel the urge to move to small towns again, but on the B-side it just gets darker and weirder (the smalltown kinda reveals its ugly underbelly) and it all ends with a track that would make the taped nipples fake fetishists in techno city shiver. I could say you need a mask to play this out, but lets not take it that far. For old fans of FRAK this record both delivers (A-side) and challenges (B-side). Me, I want doubles. -Joakim Cosmo

The Chicago-based artist, real name Andres Ordonez, has been a fixture in US house music circles since the '90s, releasing a string of EPs on labels like Sistrum, Semantica and Sound Signature. Theo Parrish's outlet, which last year put out a live mix from Ordonez, will handle his first album.

Acidic powerhouse Bill Converse makes his debut on FIT SOUND. His sound is a refreshing perspective informed by the midwest warehouse parties of which he was schooled mutated into his own blend. Treading the line between melody and brutality, while never being heavy handed, Converse has proved himself once again to be a true original lurking in the underground today.

Second release comes from label head Traxman and legendary Fast Eddie! As goodie on top of this great ep there is the track called "Eddie's House" which was recorded in 1987. It's now for the first time on vinyl!

Crotocosm is an occasional collaboration between Jordan GCZ (Lushlyfe, Off Minor) and Willie Burns (Black Deer, WT Records). Tracks were recorded together live in Amsterdam and Brooklyn between 1996 and 2017..

Part of the current crop of artists spearheading the UK acid revival, Posthuman's output has evolved over the years, encompassing many genres & styles from their early electronica releases, to their later acid & slow-mo techno.
Their debut release in 2000 was a series of hand made CDs simply called "Posthuman" (though better known by the colour of the card inserts - grey, black, blue and brown). The duo then went on to host a number of parties in an abandoned underground train station in London between 2001 and 2004, and founded their own label Seed Records (2) with which they released 3 albums and several other releases of their own and other artists material. They also were the first act on Manchester based imprint Skam's SMAK sublabel.
Doherty left Seed Records to help relaunch UK techno imprint B12 Records in 2006, and started a new label Balkan Vinyl in 2010.
In 2007, Doherty founded London-based acid house retrospective clubnight "I Love Acid" where Posthuman are monthly resident DJs. In 2014 the clubnight launched a vinyl-only label of the same name. He also performs as AGT Rave Cru and as one half of Altern 8 live shows since 2015.

Dekmantel regular Matrixxman returns with the third, and final instalment in the Sector series, Part III: Polyphony. In this triptych, the producer from San Fransisco sets out to highlight the key components behind the sounds and style of techno, exploring the range within the confines of a particular limitation. Following Parts I and II, which looked at Rhythm, and Acid, Charles McCloud Duff charters the realm of Polyphony with four, meticulously produced techno tracks, expanding his repertoire of cult, dancefloor music.
Polyphony refers to the simultaneous combining of many notes in a musical sequence. In electronic music, this specifically refers to the role of the synthesiser - such as the Minimoog, ARP Odyssey, which can produce different pitches simultaneously. Polyphony has been an integral characteristic of the genre’s sound for over a quarter of a century, and can be heard in many key records, living a the sonic forefront of these four tracks.
”Sector Series: III Polyphony” provides an exercise in melody and polyphony. Throughout the EP, swaggering rhythms are inter-washed with a sea of multi-melodious, reverberated notation. ‘Initiation’ resonates with the grandiosity, and harsh claustrophobia of early Underground Resistance. ‘Access Granted’, drives hard with pulsing effects, with a dystopic, rhythmic cacophony of euphony. ‘Desert Planet’ plays around with a differing tempo, imagining a more fantastical vision of music, echoing back to earlier Plastikman productions, using a vast sonic spectrum to conjure up a colour palette of alien imagery. ‘Horizon’ rounds things off; a track that builds on minimalism with a progressive composition, allowing the polyphonics to drive the track, harnessing the adept production qualities that Matrixxman has come to be recognised for.
