Thiers

The very lightweight Paraboot Thiers is an original design from the 1960s and is now back in the spotlight, thanks to some celebs who have given it a new lease of life. The features of the Paraboot Thiers include the derby lace insert with bead, the 4-eye lacing and the fact that it's Blake-stitched with the rubber sole - which means the upper's sewn directly to the sole with a stitch-through seam, making the shoe softer and more supple. Blake-stitched styles are lightweight and pliable, especially when the soles are rubber. Plus, the Paraboot Thiers looks more elegant than with a Goodyear stitching.

Because certain skills are no longer mastered in France, Paraboot had the Thiers produced in Spain. In doing so, Paraboot contracted a long-time Spanish partner that delivers quality just as reliable as they know from their own manufacturing. As a tradition-conscious country, Spain has been able to preserve proven manufacturing techniques and its generally recognized knowledge of the patina or genuine moccasin seam. Moreover, in Spain you can still find machine parks that offer much more options regarding production than France.

Paraboot insoles, heels and soles are still manufactured and vulcanized with the same composition as in the past. As a result, the rubber achieves the best material and mechanical properties in terms of comfort, adaptability and wear resistance. Paraboot's rubber compounds come from France and are vulcanized on their own presses in the company's workshop in Saint Jean de Moirans.

Paraboot Thiers - features:

• upper: even leather, pressed with the help of a smooth hot plate
• leather lining
• metal eyelets at 4-eye lacing
• abrasion-resistant rubber sole
• made in Spain

The Mephisto Peppo Sup-Hydro is a distinctive design with a high recall value and superior comfort. Thanks to the 2 eye lacing system and the ergonomically shaped cut, the Mephisto Peppo is equipped with a perfect fit, plus there's no pressure on the foot. Also very important for the high comfort of the Mephisto Peppo is the custom Soft Air technology, the centerpiece of the midsole that's shock-absorbing and reduces hard impact from walking on hard grounds to an absolute minimum. Further signature details of Mephisto's Peppo Sup-Hydro include the bold tongue that keeps its shape and ranges to the raised U seam at the toe box, leather lining, a leather-covered footbed, the stitched sole as well as the outdoor boots-inspired outsole with the 3D Mephisto logo. At this Mephisto shoe, the upper is made from full grain leather with durable Hydroprotect finish, while additional branding includes a Mephisto woven label at the collar.

Established in 1876 by George Henry Bass, G.H. Bass & Co. strived for perfection from the beginning: The company's humble goal was to create simply the best shoe human hands could produce. The year 1936 marked a milestone in G.H. Bass & Co. history as the brand's designers created the legendary Weejun by putting a signature twist on farm shoes out of Norway. This iconic footwear item was designed for simply loafing the field, so it could be entitled the world's first penny loafer. For the last 80 years, G.H. The G.H. Bass & Co. Weejuns are still made from best quality leathers while hand-stitching and comfortable soles add an appropriate finish. The Paraboot Coraux is Blake-stitched, a traditional technique also known as sewn-through stitching. In 1858, the shoemaker Leeman Reed Blake, a young employee of the sewing machine company Singer, invented this technique, which gives the shoe more suppleness and lightness.

With Blake stitching, the upper is sewn directly to the sole. Blake-stitched designs are lightweight and flexible, especially if the soles are made of rubber. Visually, the shoe is more elegant than those with a Goodyear seam. From a technical point of view, however, it is not as durable and more permeable than Norwegian or Goodyear-stitched shoes.

Paraboot insoles, heels and soles are still produced and vulcanized with the same composition as in the past. Therefore, the rubber achieves the best material and mechanical properties in terms of comfort, adaptability and wear resistance. Paraboot's rubber compounds originate in France and are vulcanized in the company's own factory in Saint Jean de Moirans on its own presses.

Certain skills are no longer mastered in France. In order to be able to continue offering the Coraux, Paraboot has entrusted its production to a long-standing Spanish partner who delivers reliable quality. As a country steeped in tradition, Spain has been able to preserve proven manufacturing techniques and its generally recognized knowledge of the patina or genuine moccasin seam.

Paraboot Coraux - Features:

• premium leather upper
• leather lining
• Blake stitching
• homemade vulcanized rubber sole

The Paraboot Micka is a legendary casual footwear design developed by the second generation of the Richard-Pontvert company and is characterized by the year of birth of Michel Richard-Pontvert, 1945. Acclaimed worldwide, the Paraboot Micka has crossed the ages, adapting to all generations and styles. Significant details of the unlined Paraboot Micka are the derby leaf insert with beaded stitching, the two-hole lacing and the Norwegian stitched rubber sole.

Norwegian stitching was developed mainly for mountain and work boots, and the principle can be described as follows: The shaft is sewn to the sole by a welt. Two seams are visible: the so-called Norwegian seam, which connects the frame with the upper and the first stitch, while a seam created by small stitches connects the frame with the sole. However, it's also possible to do it without a frame - in this particular case, both threads are sewn directly on the leather of the underside of the upper. The advantages of the Norwegian seam are the rock-solid and flexible assembly technique, which makes the shoe waterproof and resoleable. From a technical standpoint, the advantages of Norwegian stitching are comparable to those of Goodyear stitching.

Paraboot insoles, heels and soles are still manufactured and vulcanized with the same composition as in the past. Inspired by the birth of Michel Richard-Pontverts in 1945, the Paraboot Michael is a legendary casual design developed by the second generation of the Richard-Pontvert company. Proven worldwide, the model has traversed the ages, adapting to all generations and all styles. Significant details of the elegant Paraboot Michael are the derby leaf insert with beaded stitching, the short two-hole lacing and the Norwegian stitched rubber sole.
